Help on settings for the input and output jacks on the macbook

Is there any way of playing music out through the input jack on the macbook so you could have two different music play out the input jack and output jack at the same time or just out of either one?

The input lack is only input. If you have an AirPort Express, you can have iTunes send its audio out there and have another application use the MacBook audio output. You can also get an extra audio output via USB with the iMic
<http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/imic>
You can then send audio from one application to the iMic, and another to the MacBook output by hijacking one application with Audio Hijack Pro and using the auxiliary Device Output effect.

  • How can I make Apple Earphones be the Input and Output for Audio

I have some older headphones and they aren't compatible with a Mid 2010 (Intel Core i3) 21.5 Inch iMac
Is there some way to make Apple Earphones be the Input and Output for Audio in the iMac
This is a problem for me personally as when I am talking to someone on Skype the iMac picks up the In-built Microphone audio, and yes the headphones I'm using do work straight from the iMac as audio output
    Any help is appreciated

you can connect the headset to something like this

  • When you set up tracks what is best to pick for the input and output?

When you set up tracks what is best to pick for the input and output? also what is the buss output? Thanks

First part of the question I don't understand, so could you elaborate please?
Second part: bus output is used for submixes, for example, let's say you want the same EQ to be applied to all guitars in the song, so instead of using same EQ plug-in on all guitar tracks, you feed the output from these tracks to a bus track and use the effect just once on this bus submix.

  • I'm trying to record in Adobe Audition and it keeps saying my the sample rates for my input and output devices do not match.  How do I correct this?

I'm trying to record in Audition and it keeps saying my sample rates for the input and output devices don't match.  How do I fix this?

I finally have communication between the ISA One and Audition. I moved the optic cable to another SPDIF on the computer and from the SPDIF to ADAT on the ISA One and it finally agreed that the communication was at the same clock speed. The audio was not intelligible so I moved the optic cable back to the original configuration and I can record voice that is clean.

  • How can I use a different driver for audio input and output?

I did a search of course, and came up with something about an aggregate. I have no idea what this is, how to do it, or if it would even work for me.
What I am trying to do is:
    1) Record into Logic Express using my Tascam US-122.
    2) Have playback come out of my computer sound system, not the Tascam.
If I go over to the Audio setup window, I can only record when the driver is set to Tascam US-122. Likewise, I can only listen to sound when my Built-In Audio is selected. It gets rather annoying going between the two.
So, would this aggregate thing solve my problem? If so, how do I do it? Thanks for any help!
    -allen

Yes it should do what you want.
Go to "Audio Midi Setup", and go to the Audio menu and click "Open Aggregate Device Editor". The interface is pretty simple but if you do get stuck, just use the help function in Audio Midi Setup, as it has a step by step guide.
Then when you return to logic, go to the Preferences>Audio>Drivers section and select Aggregate Device as the new driver rather than either the built in sound or the tascam. Then the inputs and outputs will apply to BOTH devices.

Hello, I was wondering how to set-up my Mac Book so that I can use my bluetooth cellphone for audio in and audio out. Ideally, I would like to use my handset for talking on iChat and Skype. Has anyone had any luck doing this? When I bond my cellphone these optiosn do not appear. I know that this is easy to do on a Windows machine but I am not sure about how to do it on my Mac Book.

If your intention is just changing the content you are passing to bpel/returning from bpel
    Here is another way
just update your default created xsd files with new elements, update wsdl elements in message definition and chnage bpel code to reflect new elements in activities

    Hello Yun_Zhu,
Your VI looks like you started from an example, and you are on the right track.
To clarify are you trying to synchronize the input and the output waveforms?  If you you will need to share a time base and a start trigger.  Check out the synchronization examples from LabVIEW

  • How to control (the input and output) EXE file after I call it using exec?

    Hi,
I knew that I can use runtime.exec() to call one EXE file, and this works. But this EXE has two characteristics:
    1. After this exe starts, it asks user to input number such as 1 or 2 onto computer screen, then press return. Then the exe will start the calculation.
    2. after it starts calculation, it prints 3 columns of numbers onto the screen.
    My two questions are:
    1. How to use java to input the number such as 1 or 2 automatically? this EXE can not work like this in DOS command line:
    C:> file.exe parameter
The parameter is the number such as 1 or 2 that I wanna input.
    2. how to redirect the 3 columns of numbers from computer screen to txt file?
My colleague can solve these two questions using Mathematica. So I know that definitely there is at least one solution for it. I just can not do it using Java. This wierd exe file bothered me a lot and I really wish that I can get help from someone in java community.
    Thank you!
    Tony

When you call Runtime.exec, you get a Process object. (I presume something similar happens when you use ProcessBuilder.) Process has methods with names getOutput, getInput, and getError. These correspond to the standard input, standard output, and standard error streams of the spawned process.
You can read and write to the process on the streams corresponding to input and output that the process writes to the console.
    [add]
In fact, you should be grabbing and reading the output/error streams anyway, because of the points raised by the Traps article. Google "Java Runtime exec traps" and you'll probably get a link to this JavaWorld article, which describes common Runtime.exec problems and how to solve them.

  • How to set the input and output of a subVI

I am trying to configure a subVI by following Chap. 7 of "LabVIEW fundamentals". But I stuck at "Building the connector pane".
My subvi is quite simple, just for testing purpose. I plan to do a summation and display the result. So I placed one numeric Add icon on the block diagram and a numeric Indicator on the front panel. I built a connector pane with three terminals, two for input and one for output.
But, how could I associate the terminals on connector pane with inputs and outputs of terminals on the block diagram? I wanna build a subVI, whose input are two numbers and display the summation on the subVI.

    Hi Forrest Bao,
use the right mouse key as often as you can in LabVIEW. It´s very helpful. If you right click on a link in the connector pane, then you can select to disconnect selected or all.

  • TS4113 Is there a terminal or other type of workaround to allow sound to come from the HDMI and headphone jack at the same time?

I have a late 2012 Mini, running 10.8.2.  I have a set of powered speakers plugged into the headphone jack.  My TV is running on a direct HDMI connection.  I can only stream sound through HDMI, or even select it as an output, if I unplug my headphone speaker plug.  Apple's knowlege base says this is the case.  I am looking for a way to have both plugged in all the time, and have the sound mirrored to both.
I use the speakers for itunes music, system sounds, skype, etc..  The HDMI sound is for steaming content to the TV.  I don't want to have to reach around behind the computer and unplug/plug each time I switch, for a multitude of reasons.  Any ideas out there?  Google wasn't getting me very far.  Maybe a terminal solution of some sort?  Thanks in advance.

it seems that m1r3k found a very good workaround, at least for the Mid 2010 Mac mini models (that I'm using right now). I don't know if it works also with more recent Mac mini models.
Re: After upgrading to lion, cant select HDMI sound setting
Open Audio MIDI Setup.app in /Applications/Utility, click the + (plus) button in the bottom left corner of the window and choose "Create Multi-Output Device". In the new device settings tick the HDMI "Use" checkbox and you're done. Simply go to the usual System Preferences Audio panel and choose the newly created device, without the need to unplug the audio cable from the back of the Mac mini. You can also name the new audio device as you want.
    NOTE:
This is only a workaround for a deliberate choice made by Apple on OS X Lion 10.7.2 and beyond:
Mac mini: About HDMI audio and headphones
Please let Apple know (here or here) how this has made things unnecessary awkward for users and needs to be fixed (these forums don't count, they are not read by Apple's employees)!

  • What is the purpose of the 1394 and USB jacks on the 30" Cinema?

I have a 30" Cinema display connect to my (current-model) Mini via the Thunderbolt port and an Apple Dual-DVI adapter.
The back of the display has a pair of USB jacks and a pair of Firewire jacks, and the adapter has cable connections to match. What is the purpose of all these connections? I can tell you right now, it seems that nothing is coming or going through any of these paths. The Cinema display is working just fine but these miscellaneous connections aren't live as far as I can tell.
What would be great is if the FW tail on the adapter could be used as a second FW port for the Mini. Can that be made to work? Is there some way to route a FW signal to the Displayport?
TIA for any thoughts on this matter.

If I have to connect one  Cinema FW port to the sole FW port on the Mac Mini, that doesn't gain me any additional ports--it consumes one of two ports and leaves me a net of one open port--the same quantity I started with.
The display's FireWire cable (not one of the ports on the back of the display) connects to the computer's FireWire port (via a FW400 to FW800 adapter).  This uses up one computer FireWire port, but the display has two FireWire ports, so you gain one port.
It's the same for USB.  You lose one port of the computer but get two on the display.
BTW, your response implied that the Thunderbolt port "contains" both USB and FW connectivity. Can I simply tap off the FW and feed my external FW hard drive directly from the Thunderbolt port?
Thunderbolt doesn't include USB and FireWire directly.  Instead it includes a version of PCI.  Apple is making some simple Thunderbolt to FireWire or Internet adapters, but they have only one Thunderbolt connection, so if you used one, there would be no place to connect your 30" display.  (The HDMI port is limited to 1920 x 1200, so cannot drive a 30" display at full resolution.)
Belkin is coming out with an adapter that you could use, but it is not cheap.
