Help or the iPOD gets it...

Please help. I can't get songs from iTUNES into iPOD. The message says that the iPOD is linked to a different library. I have no idea what that means...I just want to put some songs on my iPOD.

My most sincere apologies. I'm new to this forum and to Apple products in general. Its a bit confusing, e.g. iTunes and iPOD are listed in different places. I must admit to a bit of frustration with the iPOD as well. It is not as hassle free as the Apple ads would imply. And technical support is nonexistent. I am therefore grateful for your help.

    hi badgirl!
when i click on it to start it it brings up the license agreement and then it disappears and itunes never starts.
gaaah. do you also see a similar sort of thing happen when you try to launch your QuickTime? (a brief flash of the screen, but then nothing?) are you getting absolutely no error messages whatsoever, just the flash and then nothing?
the most likely cause of those symptoms is infestation of your PC by Qoologic adware. the free trial version of Ewido has been cleaning that up for most people:

  • HT1430 hi i need help resetting the ipod i have and the problem is that i've forgot my password

Hi I am having problem to reset password, Pls help me to get this to work again.
    thanks

You'll need to connect it to the iTunes library you normally sync it with and restore it.  If iTunes asks you for this passcode before it will let you proceed, connect the iPod to iTunes in recovery mode instead using the instructions in this Apple support document.

  • Help. about the ipod nano charged with usb 1.1

i just got the ipod nano. now i am charging it. according to the mannul, it will take 3hr to charge it by usb 2.0.
considering i only have usb 1.1, so my question is how long it wil take to charge the nano. until i wait for 6hr and the screen still shows do not disconnect. i can transfer the music and image to the nano. thanks.

Sorry, I'm not really sure how long the charge will take with USB 1.1, but I'd guess it would be way longer that "twice as long".
The "do not disconnect" will show as the display until you eject the iPod thru iTunes.
Now here the tricky part since I don't have a 1.1 USB. If you eject it thru iTunes, I believe the screen will show if it is still charging or "charged". So when you know you need to charge it, plug in to the `puter, then eject and leave it connected, to see what happens.
I do recommend getting the USB power adapter. For USD30.00, it is really worth it. Well, for me at least. I charge regularly (4 times a week) and only plug into my computer to add more music (maybe once a month). Your usage may be different, but it is so easy to come home and just plug it into the dock (plugged into the wall).

  • I tried to sync my iPod Classic but if I try to sync more than 700 songs, everything freezes and the iPod gets corrupted, and I have to restore it. Can I fix this?

I recently bought a new Mac laptop. When I tried to erase all the songs on my iPod and sync it to my new library, 700 songs synced before the sync froze. I could still play songs on iTunes but no more songs would sync.
It wouldn't let me stop the sync and safely eject my iPod, so I just unplugged it. I plugged it back in and iTunes said the iPod was corrupted, so I restored it. I tried to sync it again, but the same thing happened, and it still happens every time I try.
Is there a way to fix this?

Are you running any sort of AntiVirus or security software on your system?  If so, try disabling it temporarily and then resyncing your iPod.
Otherwise, try sync content to your iPod in smaller batches to see if that heps.

  • Need help with the ipod

so i got this ipod and its all ready been like set up and stuff and it was working but i tried to restore it, and the battery had died now it just show's the apple sign but t doesnt come on the full way ? what do i have to do to fix it .

    - I would first charge it for at least in hour and then try to reset the iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next I would also charge it for at least an hur and then place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore the iPod via iTunes on your computer.  For recovery mode see:

  • Need help finding the FP Get Configuration Info.vi in Labview 8.5

I have had a problem with a program that I have put together to run a fieldpoint system. The program works fine on the development computer but as soon as I install it on a client pc i have problems with the program not linking to the .iak file.
I have contacted NI and an engineer has said to me that I should include a ' FP Get Configuration Info.vi ' at the begining of my program and that should solve the problem.
I am using Labview 8.5 and am unable to find the vi.
Can anyone help and tell me where I can find the vi.
    Thanks

Don't have 8.5 loaded right now.  Shows up in LV8.2 & LV8.6 on palettes under Measurment I/O>Fieldpoint>Advanced.  I'll assume that you have used the search function on the Functions palette.
Have attached copy of LV8.2 vi for you to try.

  • I need help with the iPod Touch!! Model MA623C

Can someone tell me if I am able to download apps and games to my iPod Touch, old version of it. I tried to download a game but it did not show up. I tried looking online but didn't find any answers......could you please help?

upgrade to 2.1, it is SOOO unfortunately worth it. Mine is 1st gen MA623LL. Those games and apps you've downloaded from the store will show up on your next full sync, even though you'll lose available disc space. I'd make sure your touch has 300meg free before attempting the upgrade. Please post your current version, the version upgraded to, and the ammount of space sacrificed.
    Thank you.

hi , can any one help me with a problem ,,, i own an iphone 4 and creates my account in itunes months later my friend bought an ipod and created an account also but created in my pc and  now both get sync in the same pc and all my personal data from the iphone 4 keeps getting copy and the ipod gets it and have acces to my personal data and apps gets my mail etc , can any one help me with this issue?
    thnk you

Sorry to hear of your problem, but any hardware in a computer can fail - that includes the hard drive, the logic board, etc, etc. Fortunately, it usually doesn't happen that soon; however, I've read of hard drives failing within 6 months.
So, since you did not purchase the extended Applecare Protection Plan (3 years coverage), you will need to make a decision to repair or sell it as is. I would always purchase 3 year coverage for an all in one or a laptop because repairs are expensive and at least I'd be covered for 3 years.
We can't speculate on whether there should be a recall or not; these forums are for user to user assistance with technical problems. In your case, there is nothing we can help with since you've already gotten a diagnosis.

  • Can  the  serial  number  help  find  my  ipod

lost  ipod  could  it  be  found  with  the  serial  number

No. SN will only help identify the iPod if it is recovered.
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have to iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
    - Apple will do nothing

  • How do I reset my Ipod if the passcode that was put on it was entered wrong too many times and it disables the ipod?

My son put a passcode on his IPOD TOUCH and couldnt remember it and entered it too many times. Now it has disabled the Ipod and says please connect to ITunes and ITunes will not connect to it because it has been disabled, I have already spoke to an Apple representative and did exactly what they told me to do to help reset the Ipod but that didnt work. So I am trying to figure out how we can get back into his IPod even if we have to factory reset it because nothing is working, not their instructions or the internet instructions for reseting it.

  • Please Help-- 1st Gen iPod not showing in iTunes or desktop :(

My 20g iPod doesn't show up anymore in iTunes or on the desktop, but the iPod itself does say "do not disconnect" when it's connected to the USB port. It's plugged directly into my computer and I've tried switching ports, so it's not that. I was able to connect my friend's nano, so the problem can't be the port.
I've done the 5 Rs without success. I only have OS X 10.2.8, so can't upgrade to iTunes 7. I had iTunes 6.0.5 but changed back to 6.0.4 after hearing that it might help with the iPod problem. Nothing seems to have changed, though, the iPod is still unrecognized by iTunes and the desktop.
I've read a bunch of posts saying to repair disk permissions, but when I open Disk Utility(which does show the iPod) my only options are Verify Disk and Repair Disk. Verify and Repair Disk Permissions are there but are in grey (can't click on them.)...
And my warranty ran out ages ago, so the Apple people won't help me. Great for them, but I'm screwed.
So I know very little about how these things work, and everything I've tried has failed thus far. Any advice you have would be wonderful!
    EMac   Mac OS X (10.2.x)   Mac OS X 10.2.8

Update: I get this message when the iPod is plugged into the computer:
"You have inserted a disk containing no volumes that Mac OS X can read. To use the unreadable volumes, click Initialize. To continue with the disk inserted, click Ignore."
There are three options: Initialize, Ignore, and Eject, but none of them do anything. ??? I'm clueless as to what to do here.

  • Computer restarts when music is being uploaded to the Ipod

I just purchased a 60GB Video Ipod from Best Buy. I've had nothing but problems with it since. The main problem is that plugging in the USB cable will either reset my computer immediately or if I get lucky Itunes will automatically start to update the Ipod (or I should say sync it or whatever)...as it uploads music it may get to about the 4th song then it will restart my computer.
Any ideas of what is wrong, I'm going to take it back tomorrow if I can't figure out the problem, it is just not worth $399 for the aggravation.
    thanks,
    Corky

    Thanks Trevor,
I have tried every USB port I have, I also went and downloaded the new drivers as you suggested. Neither helped.
On three of the USB ports the minute I plug in the Ipod it shuts off the computer and restarts. The computer does give alot of clicking noises (not beeps) from the back of the computer. I'm wondering if it has something to do with my power supply, since the Ipod gets power to charge and such though the computer, do you think that could be a problem.
My next thing is I will try it on another computer, but that will have to be later today.

  • The iPod "iPod" could not be restored because it could not be found

I get this error when trying to restore the iPod with iTunes. I can play music fine on it. It is an old 10Gb touch wheel one from way back in 2002 and up until now it was the only one out of my four iPods I've owned that hadn't had any problems!
I tried reseting it, charging it, decharging it, even trying it in a different Mac and still get the same error every time.
Any suggestions? Anyone else had this problem?

So this is the model that connects with a regular FireWire cable, correct?
Try putting it into Disk Mode first
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1363
then connect it to the computer. Run iTunes and try doing a Restore again.
If that does not help, connect the iPod and run Disk Utility. Quit iTunes if running. Select the iPod's hard drive (not the volume indented under the hard drive) in the sidebar. Go to the Erase tab. Set the format to +Mac OS Extended (Journaled)+ and Erase the iPod.
If that procedure completes (it should take less than a minute for a standard erase), quit Disk Utility. Run iTunes. Decline any offers from iTunes to sync the iPod for the moment. Once iTunes opens, try doing a Restore again.
If the erase in Disk Utility errors out or stalls, it is possible that the hard drive in the old iPod has become faulty. However, it is also possible that the FireWire cable has become faulty, so you should try a different cable (and a different port on the Mac).
