Help! Pages Custom Sizes defaults back to normal paper size

I've selected any printer and this usually allows me to create any size, but today it won't play. It just goes back to A4.
Please help

I've had that happen when I tried to create a small custom size and the default document margins were so large that there wasn't any useable area inside them. If I set the document margins to a small value before I created the custom size, it worked.
That may not be what's happening in your case, but you haven't given much information.

  • Help creating custom size pdf

I am trying to print a pdf of a 96x36 banner using the pdf printer in a Publisher 2010 file.  I have searched online and found many sites with instructions which I have followed. I have also posted on Microsoft's help but am still unable to print the pdf. I have added a custom size form to the pdf printer, but when I click print nothing happens. The pdf printer works on other publisher files in standard paper sizes, but not custom sizes.  There is nothing in the file creating a problem - I opened a new file with nothing in it and still can't get it to print.  If anyone can help - PLEASE DO! I have struggled with this for 3 days and can't find an answer anywhere as to why I can not print a custom size document.

Lori - I was wondering if you could help me with another Adobe question I have been struggling with - affecting all my CS5 programs, including - but not specific to - Acrobat?
In all the CS5 programs (including Acrobat) it takes a very long time for the open dialog box and save dialog box to appear after clicking save or open under file.  Everything else in the programs works fine - it doesn't take long for operations to be performed or anything else, and once the dialog box is open it doesn't take a long time to open or save the files.  I have narrowed down the problem to being connected to a home network.  I have a network storage device and another computer that I access and use files between.   As a test I unplugged the network cable and the dialog boxes appeared immediately.  Once the computer was reconnected to the home network, the same slow dialog boxes returned.  I have found others online with the same problem, but no answers as of yet.  I have checked whatever settings on my computer that I found in postings for possible solutions, but nothing has helped.  Are you aware of this problem, and do you know of any solution for it?  It is extremely frustrating to wait so long for the dialog box to appear - it adds a lot of time to my workflow, and its almost embarrassing that my CS1 programs' open & save dialog boxes appear with lightening speed but my CS5 is slower than molasses!!  Any help would be appreciated!
CS5 is installed on a 64 bit Windows 7 computer

  • I need help printing custom size w/ In Design

    I am new to InDesign.
I have both and Epson R300 and an Epson 1400.
I cannot create custom sizes to print with InDesign. I have a custom sized page (8.75W x 5.625H).
I want to set that size up in my print options but the custom print capability is grayed out on both my R300 and 1400. I'm guessing it's a driver issue?
In the past I've only ever printed on standard sizes but I thought for sure my 1400 would let me print irregular sizes.
Is this a printer issue or am I missing something with InDesign? Is there anything I can do to print this custom size with my printers?
    Thanks.

I've discovered that if I use Format for > Any Printer in the Page Setup dialog, the Custom Page created isn't grayed out, and I can access it from the Paper Size selection.
But it doesn't seem to change the actual page area printed to, to the required .25 on top, even though I created a Custom Page of .25,.25,.25, .46 for my HP 960c printer, which claims an actual print area as defined by my custom size.
It seems to continue using a predefined .25L, .5T, .25R, .5B for the Letter Size paper selection.
One piece to the puzzle, responding a year or so late?

  • Need help ordering custom size prints in iphoto....

I don't know how to order custom size photos? After I edit photo in constrain tab and type the size i need it doesn't show that available size in kodak menu. Only standard sizes show up like 3x5, 4x6 etc... I need various sizes like 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 for example.

    HI Plexi,
As far as I know, there are only the standard sizes available for prints.
You will have to print the custom sizes with your printer.
thanks - I'll give your suggestion a try and let you know how it turns out.

  • Firefox won't open at blank page, but always defaults back to Home Page.

I keep resetting Firefox (latest version) to open at a blank page, but it continues to open at the default Home Page. That home page has an unwanted Firefox logo in the middle, with a search bar underneath. I don't want to see any of that when I open Firefox, but can't seem to get rid of it. There is nothing in Extensions or Plug-Ins that could cause this.

I had the same problem. I found a file user.js containing one line:
    user_pref("browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once", true);
I removed this file and problem was resolved.
''This file is in your currently active profile folder, which you can open using the Troubleshooting Information page. To do that, either:
    3-bar menu button > ? button > Troubleshooting Information
    Help menu > Troubleshooting Information
type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
In the first table on the page, click the "Show Folder" button. Here you can find prefs.js and see whether Firefox is updating the file after you change your home page.''

  • My screen opened, and with every click the page (letters/images) got bigger. I can not get it to return to normal image size. I have to use the slide bar to read across the page. What do i do to correct it back to normal size???

    Question
My screen opened, and with every click the page (letters/images) got bigger. I can not get it to return to normal image size. I have to use the slide bar to read across the page. What do i do to correct it back to normal size???

    Hi jholzworth,
It sounds like you might have accidentally hit the zoom button. Try hitting ''CTRL + 0'' to return it to normal size. Just so you are aware, ''CTRL'' and ''+'' will zoom in and ''CTRL'' and ''-'' will zoom out.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • By mistake, I shrink the size of a particular page, which firefox then remembers. How do I get the size back to normal?

When moving around on websites, somehow I manage to shrink the size of what is shown on the screen. I have not figured out how to get the size back to 'normal'. However, Firefox remembers this so when I reenter this particular size, it will still be in the smaller format. Very frustrating and as this has happened for at least two of my most watched sites, I am more and more using competing formats, e.g. Explorer.
I have alsl asked more experienced users of Internet to try to solve this but they are as lost as I am.
Looking forward to getting your advice.
    Best regards,
    Lars Henriksson

You can hit CTRL++ to zoom. Or install these add-ons:

  • When OS X Lion enlarges a web page how do I get it back to normal size?

How do I get the web pages back to normal size when Lion expands them? I don't even know what I am doing with my magic mouse to expand the web pages.

If you double-click with two fingers, the section of the web page you clicked on will expand to fill screen. Double-click again with two fingers to unzoom.
That is how it works on a Trackpad; I assume it is the same on the Magic Mouse.
On the Magic Mouse it is a one-finger double-tap.

my 'front page' is suddenly enlarged, how do I get it back to 'normal' size view?

You have Zoom on... double tap with three fingers to turn it off.   Go into Settings > General > Accessibility to disable it.

  • I enlarged a page & now I cannot get it back to normal size.

I wanted a picture made larger, so I pressed a button stating that I could enlarge the picture. now I can not get the Firefox screen back to normal size.don

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F).<br />
If you are in full screen mode then hover the mouse to the top to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear.<br />
You can click the Maximize button at the top right to leave full screen mode or right click empty space on a toolbar and use "Exit Full Screen Mode" or press F11.<br />

  • New problem in page setup; custom sizes

Although previously working fine, while using Pages, custom page set up settings aren't taking effect. Trying to do a business card setting of 3.54 x 2.05 with no margins. It always comes back with a 8 1/2" x 11" page. I restarted pages, then rebooted the mac, and continue having this problem. Other test sizes now seem to be giving me the same result.
I am going to: Page setup, paper size, manage custom sizes.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there. I just tested this and found I was able to change from cm, which is my default, to inches simply by setting System Preferences > International > Formats > Measurement Units to US from Metric.
It sounds like you may be doing this already, so the only other thing I can suggest is to quit the Application you are attempting to set the Custom Size in. I found that after I set the Measurement Units back to Metric, the Manage Custom Sizes still showed inches in the dimensions boxes. But after I quit the application and then opened it again, the Manage Custom Sizes menu was showing cm again.

  • How can I stretch an avi back to normal size?

I had made an avi file on my Windows computer and I opened it with Quicktime player. Quicktime spent some time converting it, but when the result came out the clip was kind of squashed like this:
I'm trying to figure out how to stretch it back to normal size, but for now I'm stuck with this. I was able to view it at normal size with another application as well, but that application wouldn't let me export the file. Converting the avi to an mov with SmartConverter didn't help either, as Quicktime said that the file had an invalid extension of some sort.

+If you want to set a custom paper size, choose Manage Custom Sizes from the pop-up menu. Otherwise, go to step 7.+
+Click the Add button, and then enter values in the Page Size fields.+
+Either choose your printer’s default margins from the pop-up menu, or enter your own values for margins in the Left, Right, Top, and Bottom fields.+

    +Click OK.+
+Choose the new paper size you named from the Paper Size pop-up menu, and then click OK.+
+Select an orientation option using one of the buttons at the bottom of the Page Setup dialog.+
+To make an image larger or smaller to fill more or less of the paper, type a percentage value into the Scale field, and then click OK.+
