HELP - Placing a Multiple Page PDF

I need help some help for a large job I'm doing at work. You may need to have print shop experience to answer this question or be good at scripting...
These pdf's have already been created and are 7"x8.5". I am placing them on a landscape legal size document because each placed pdf is repeated to have 2 up on one sheet. I don't know if there is any easier way to do this besides using step and repeat for each individual page (each finished document has about 700 pages and becomes very time consuming). The other problem is I have to rotate the right side of the odd pages 180 degrees and the left side of the even pages 180 degrees so the tabs can bleed and be edge trimmed after the document is printed (2-sided printing).
I've used the scripts from cs3 to place the pages in so if anyone has any ideas or a way to do all of the steps at once would be very helpful!

Go FIle>Place
On the bottom left hand corner of the Place Dialog Box you will see "Show Import Options"
When you see the options you'll know exactly what to do
Also, if you look up PDFPLACER.JSX
It's a script that can place many pages of a pdf in a document one after the other.
To use Scripts, first download the one mentioned
Go to InDesign and Windows>Automation>Scripts and go to the user folder
Right click inside it or CMD click on Mac.
Show in Finder/Explorer
Copy the script into that folder
Go back to InDesign and you'll see the script there
Run the script
Do a dummy run (test) first on a blank document with say 5 pages until you get the hang of how it works.

  • Placing a multiple page pdf over multiple pages in indesign

Ok so I do alot of "print presentations," when designing books or manuals etc
I have to place the spreads of the document into their own A3 pages in another indesign file
So I make a pdf with all the spreads I need.
Then I place the pdf and with import options say all pages.
But now I still have to click on each page where I would like to have the spread
How can I take lets say a 74 spread pdf and place it so that all the spreads go onto their own page all on the same spot?
Is it possible or do I have to place them all on their own?
Also how do I apply the same effect to all these pages, lets say a drop shadow and a stroke?
Please help, because this is very time consuming and deadlines don't wait.
    Thank you

  • Placing a multiple page PDF into InDesign

I have CS5.  I'm working on a multipage document in InDesign and I want to bring in a multipage PDF document into that InDesign document.  For some reason, when I do File>Place, it brings in the first page of the PDF (with perfect formatting) but the other pages do not come in.  Is there some other setting that I'm missing to capture all pages of the PDF to transfer into the same number of pages in my InDesign document?

No, there is no such option. Steve's suggestion does pop up a dialog so you can select page 2, page 3, etc. -- and even "all" -- but InDesign does not create the pages for you, as it does with text.
Use Scott Zanelli's script for this: http://indesignsecrets.com/zanelli-releases-multipageimporter-for-importing-both-pdf-and-i ndd-files.php

I do have a 2008 version of Microsoft Office installed to save money, but that shouldn't affect things. I can't figure out the "rename" function either. Help?

Oh, and I also reset my NVRAM, my computer hasn't frozen again yet, so I'm not sure if it has made a difference.

  • Inserting Multiple Page PDF in Word Document

I've been searching for an answer to what I thing ought to be a rather simple question and I can find nothing. I have a couple of users who have attempted to insert a multiple page PDF into a Word document and found that only the first page of the PDF
shows up in their document. Is there any method to insert multiple page PDFs into Word as multiple pages without splitting the PDF into individual single page files and inserting individually?
    Thanks...Ray

A quick and dirty way to do this is to open the pdf document in question with word separately.   You get the following warning message.
I can then select all and copy/paste in to my word document.
The few pdfs I tried this with pretty much turned in to all images when I did this, but it worked my purposes.
I did end up having to resize one that didn't seem to want to fit when I pasted it in.  There may be a method to select an image and automatically fit it within the margins of the page it is on that would help that.
The file size on my resulting word document seemed to grow quite a bit as well.  Again, not really an issue in my case though.

  • Batch Processing multiple page pdf

Using Batch Processing in Acrobat I would like to:
Extract as single pages from a multiple page pdf.
I want the resulting pdfs renamed with page numbers. The first few pages of the pdf are roman numeral pages (index) then the rest of the pages would start as page 1 through 99999
So that the end result would be
    page I_filename.pdf
    page II_filename.pdf
    page III_filename.pdf
    page 1_filename.pdf
    page 2_filename.pdf
    page 3_filename.pdf ect....
    Can someone help?

Adobe Acrobat Pro has a batch process feature.
You choose files or a folder with these image files.
You may apply commands like "Recognize Text (using OCR)" for all chosen files.
Than all files may be saved as PDF.

  • Convert multiple page pdf to multiple jpg

Hi, is there anyway of converting a multiple page pdf file in preview to multiple jpgs in one go? I've tried selecting all, but it still only converts one page into a jpg, when using the "save as" function. I'm currently having to convert each page in the file individually, which is rather time-consuming. If preview can't do it, is there any other software (preferably not too expensive) that can?
Many thanks for your help in advance

    juleshorst,
Ok Here is the best way I could find to take a PDF and make each page its own jepg image.
    1. Open (Automator) on the window that opens it asks for a starting point I would Select (Files & Folders) the big Finder image. For the settings on it I would select (my mac) and (Ask For Files & Folders when my workflow runs) from the drop down menus, that way you can save it and reuse it latter.
    2. I would drag the (PDF to images) automation under the (Ask for Finder Items) automation. To find said (PDF to images) you can either search for it or it can be found in the PDF section on the left.
    3. After which I would drag the (Change Type of Images) automation under the (PDF to images) automation, I would say Don't add to the (This action will change the image type ...... ect ect.....), and I would select (To Type (jpeg)) from the drop down menu. To find said (Change Type of Images) once again you can search in the search box or you can find it in the Photos section on the left.
    4. Run Automation, the button is located in the top right. Select the PDF you want to turn into jpeg pages and there you go.
I hope that this helped with your issue.

  • Creating Multiple Page PDF Documents

I am not sure how to creat a multiple page PDF document.

    Hi...
There are two ways... i think the Help offers one solution, else do a search on Google (that's how i figured it out).
Alternatively, there's a plugin you can buy called 'Multipage'... just do a search for it...

  • How do I place a multiple page .pdf file into a new InDesign CC document?

How do I place a multiple page .pdf file into a new InDesign CC document???

You will likely get better program help in a program forum InDesign
The Cloud forum is not about using individual programs
The Cloud forum is about the Cloud as a delivery & install process
If you will start at the Forums Index https://forums.adobe.com/welcome
You will be able to select a forum for the specific Adobe product(s) you use
Click the "down arrow" symbol on the right (where it says All communities) to open the drop down list and scroll

  • I need to supply a multiple page pdf download on my site...

How do I upload a multiple page pdf on my site and have clients able to link to it/find it and download it?  I also want to have the pdf able to be accessed from a separate blog.  Is this possible?!  I have GoLive CS2.

    TangledRibbon,
    You can just:
    1) Save it to the folder where it belongs (where you have your site on your computer);
    2) Open the Site File and click any page/image/whatever;
    3) Press the Refresh;
    Now the PDF should appear in your site;
    4) Create a link to it from one or more HTML pages, in whichever way you create links (you may just type something and turn it into a link, browsing to select the PDF);
    5) Upload as usual (incremental or otherwise) to get it accessible for others.
You may link to it from anywhere else by its URL once it is there.

  • Can I use preview to export multiple page PDF as jpegs?

Using Preview, I export multiple page PDF as jpeg and results are the first page only as jpeg. Can I use preview to export multiple page PDF as jpeg for every page?

Automator is great for this if you need to export many pages to JPG, or just have to do this often.
Two other quick and dirty way sto get it done:
    (1) Enable thumbnail view, click on the ONE PAGE you want to convert to jpg, then choose "export." If you choose more than one page, only the first will get exported to jpg.
    (2) Create a copy of the file, delete all the pages except the one you want to export to JPG, and export that page. You may be able to "undo" the delete, get all your pages back again, and re-delete all but the one you want to export, etc. I would not recommend doing this on the original version of the file because of Preview's autosave so-called "feature."

  • Single page PDF file in mail always appears in message body, instead of as an attachment, contrary to a multiple page PDF. Why?

When sending a single page PDF file in mail, it always appears as an open file in the message body. Multiple page PDF files appear as attachments. Why the difference and how to change the behavior of single page PDF files so that they appear as attachments instead of open files?

    Hello billsbs,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that when you add a PDF to mail you see its entire contents, but when you add two or more pages Mail shows them as a document icon. To change this behavior for that specific email, please follow the instructions in the attached article.

  • Used to be able to print multiple page pdf files on my HP 7310 all in one and then it stopped and would only print the curent page. This is tedious for long PDF docs. I am on 10.6.8 .

Used to be ablert to print multiple page pdf files on my HP 7310 all in one printer and now I can only print the current page and therefore it takes forever printing them one by one. I am in version 10.6.8. Tried printing as image using the advanced click and that did not work either.  I have Adobe 9.0 reader installed.

I tried this earlier, and I tried it again today.  Both times it said "Software Missing!"  and "HP Software required to connect to your printer over the network could not be found on this computer."  But when I tried to install the software (AIO_CDB_Net_Full_Win_WW_130_141.exe, which I downloaded from HP's web site), it wouldn't install, as described above.  In the diagnostic utility, I clicked "skip", and it said "Connection Verified!", and "The printer is connected to the network and the services related to the network connections have been verified and reset to a normal operating state.  Everything appears to work fine at this point.  Please doa test print to verify that the issue is resolved or click Skip to move to the next step."  I clickedthe "Test Print" button, and immediately it popped up a box that said "Test Print Failed."
I tried again to install the HP software, and it installed, detected the printer, and asked me to select it.  I selected the printer, clicked "next", and it did its network diagnostics.  Then it said "Problem(s) found with your network" and "Problem(s) may exist with the network functions of your printer . . ."  I continued the installation without connecting to the printer.  Then I ran your network printer diagnostic tool again, and got the same result - "HP Software required to connect to youir printer over the network could not be found on this computer."

  • Photoshop Elements 11- Create and save multiple page PDF's?  Software bug or new limitation?

I just upgraded from Photoshop Elements 10 to Photoshop Elements 11.  One of the reasons I stayed with Adobe rather than Corel was the ability to work with multipage PDF's.
I noticed that I can't add more than one page to a project and save a multiple page PDF.  I can open a multiple page PDF, but not create or save one.
Is this a new limitation, or just a software bug Adobe plans to fix?
Has anyone found a way to work with multiple page PDF's in Photoshop Elements 11?

It's a new limitation in PSE 11, for one of those mysterious adobe reasons.
