HELP please!! 3 problems w/ iTunes

I currently have[B] iTunes10.2.2.12[/B] installed on a dinosaur of a [B]Dell[/B] (getting an [B]2011 iMac[/B]).
Anyways,
Problem #1 75-80% of the time the Cover Flow of album art either is a solid black window saying
iTunes is unable to browse album covers on this computer
or the window is missing and you just see the window or desktop underneath in that cover flow area. Also, the same happens in Safari for Windows 5.05 (7533.21.1) with the bookmark pages cover flow
Problem #2:
This is more serious since it affects functionality and not ascetics. That being that my video podcasts 9/10 times do not show I only get audio. I subscribe to the Apple Keynote Podcasts and want to show a relative a part of the iPad2 Keynote with the video of the iPad uses including the autistic child and how it is being used in the medical field, etc.
Can anyone please help me to resolve these problems especially the video podcast problem? I do not get any type of error message with the podcast it just plays audio.
Problem #3:
I'm having problem with iTunes Music Files playing correctly. For some time I have been noticing that for several songs when I play start playing a particular song in the middle of the song it jumps to playing in the middle of another song. The title of the song remains the original one I started initially. Sometimes they jump back and forth from song to song. Also some of the songs jump between 3 songs.
Now this is not random. It is always the same initial songs. I thought maybe it was my computer being old. However, when I play one of the initial songs that do this on my iPhone it does the same thing and jumping back and forth from the same songs.
It looks like something happened when the song was encoded on iTunes. The songs that do this are ones I burned off CDs.
I also thought maybe a scratched CD caused this but it happened tonight with a song from a new CD I recently burned.
Also note this happens with several songs from several CDs but each instance the songs involved in the jumping back and forth are from the same CD.
I'm going to be getting a 27"iMac soon so maybe even though I hate to perhaps on the new machine I should manually burn my CDs and just transfer my albums and songs downloaded from iTunes.
How can I make sure this doesn't happen on the iMac?

That being that my video podcasts 9/10 times do not show I only get audio.

ok..so i tried to "upgrade" itunes so i could update my iphone and kept getting an error message, so i thought uninstalling then reinstalling would be wise. little did i know that when i went back onto itunes.com an clicked on download itunes that when the security warning popped up where you have the option to run, save, or cancel that it was going to be a pain in my butt...cant click on run to install because if i do then it freezes and says "program not responding" then its stuck!! i made sure i unistalled itunes the way apple says to do so but i have no clue what is wrong! someone please help me!!

Try clicking "save" instead, Mary. Does a copy save on your hard drive? If so, does the installation go through okay when you doubleclick the iTunesSetup.exe file you downloaded?

Help Please: Playlist Problem

I recently backed up all the musics and movies I had by using the back up disc feature. I used 4 blank dvd discs to back up all of my files. After I transfered my music to another pc I use, I found very disturbing fact. My ipod has all playsits I had before, but itunes doesn't have any playlist. Every music is under the music fold. Since I have about 1500 musics, I can't even imagine to update all playlists manually. I thought that using the back up disc feature would automatically transfer all my playsits. Is this the way supposed to work or I need to change some other settings too? I don't really know what to do. Please help me to solve this problem. I'd really appreciate it.

Backup just backs up the music. It doesn't back up any of your settings.
Are you using an external HD?
If so;
Hold down the shift key the next time you launch iTunes. Select create library on the pop up window, and save it on your HD.
The next step can be done in a couple of ways.
1. Go to your music folder>iTunes>iTunes Music>right click>send to>navigate to the newly created library and select choose (or whatever windows says)
2. Open your internal iTunes library (hold down shift key>choose library>navigate to your internal music folder>iTunes>choose) Go to iTunes preferences>advanced>general. Change your iTunes music folder location to the location of the new library on your HD: Ext. HD>iTunes> Now go to advanced and consolidate library. You'll get a message that says "consolidating your iTunes library will copy all of your music to the iTunes Music Folder." Select Consolidate
or....
3. Open your newly created library, file>add to library>navigate to the iTunes Music folder on your internal HD and select choose.
There are a couple of other ways, but this should be good.

Help please...damaged itunes library??

whenever i try to open my itunes library a message comes up that says: the file "i tunes library.itl" does not appear to be a valid itunes library file. itunes has attempted to recover your itunes library and renamed this file to "i tunes library (damaged).itl" This message has come up ever since I downloaded itunes 8...and i tried reinstalling it. same here. dont listen to all the "copy paste move rename" stuff everybody else says to do. i have narrowed it down to a tag issue. a name or some info in the tags on a particular song is typer wrong or something. either that or a whole mp3/acc file is corrupted and you need to replace it. next time itunes does this find out what song itunes loads last and see if the next one has problems. I still have the problem, but it seems all my songs are still there, which is a breakthough for me.

Help please - template problems

2 questions please - actually:
1. Dreamweaver CS4... I think my template functionality has somehow become corrupted. When I try to create new templates (regardless of which site I'm trying it within), they look ok. But when I then try to create a new html page using the template, it garbles the format. I tried it every way I can think of... I tried the 2 column fixed, the 3 column hybrid, etc. etc. And I tried them as is in dreamweaver (without adding any formatting or anything... just create a new, save it, and then create a new page using the tempalte). Still the same garbled end results. (it's keeping the spry menu bar, but loses the columnar format and places them on top of each other)
Interestingly, it's only happening with new templates. (what started this was that I have a 2 column template I'm using, and I want to switch to a 3 column). As long as I keep using the existing format with the existing templates, the new pages are ok.
I tried re-installing dreamweaver, and that didn't fix it. Any ideas?
2. I noticed in another post, that there were comments about largers sites don't do well with templates. My site's content based (www.howtogardenadvice.com) with no fancy bells or whistles... but am well over 50 pages, and still growing. Does that mean I have to stop using a template?

When you site becomes as large as yours sounds, the initial decision to use Templates becomes tedious, since each saved Template change requires that you upload ALL affected local files to reflect that change. As the site becomes larger and larger, this requirement becomes more and more tedious. It's not that the Templates don't work.
I still use Templates on nearly every site I build, but I also use server-side includes to minimize this need. I use the following scheme....
First, I mentally separate the page layout into three sections:
1. Stuff that will not change for the life of the site (i.e., the basic
structural elements)
2. Stuff that *could* change from time to time (e.g., navigation elements,
burst advertisements, section-specific navigation, etc.)
3. Stuff that *will* change from one page to the next
Then I create a Template containing all class1 elements. Next I create
server-side include files containing all class 2 elements and place them on
the Template as needed. Note - some of the class 2 elements may be
"section-specific elements", and their placement on the Template will be
subject to the next item. Finally, I insert editable regions to cover the
class 3 items, INCLUDING the section-specific navigation.
This allows me to just cookie-cut the rest of the site. I estimate that
even for fairly large sites, about 80% of my work goes into planning and
creating this Template file.
To say anything about your #1 problem, we'd need to start by looking at the code on your Template page, and comparing that to the 'garbled' code on your child pages. Can you show us?

Any help for my problem with iTunes 11.2.1 update and "unknown error (-54)"

After downloading iTunes 11.2.1 update I can't get into iTunes Store and keep getting an error message "unknown error (-54)". What does this mean? How do I correct it? No sense in having iTunes if I can't get into the store or my account.

Why is this Itunes such a pile of junk? If I restart my computer I can sometimes find the recently added music in my Itunes Library.
It would be nice to know if other people are having the same problems.

HELP! Audiobook problems using iTunes 7.1.1.1.5

I updated to the newest iTunes 7.1.1.5 tonight and almost all of my audiobooks are useless. It changed the times to 00:00 and will not play most of my library. The titles are there but the books will not play. I tried to add some saved m4b files back to the library but they would not copy to iTunes. I saw others on iLounge had the same problem. I listen to books daily and this is a major problem for me. Does anyone have a solution? Is there a way to report this problem to Apple? Can I reinstall the older version of iTunes that I was using until this problem is repaired? How do I find which older iTunes software version I had? I'm desperate. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This version of iTunes is a disaster for homemade m4b files. The immediate prior version showed 0:00, but would play the files. Now this version will not play. Extends to iPod if it is updated -- that is, files downloaded to iPod that had been playing no longer play.

Help please? problems with screen resolution & external monitor

had a look around this forum and seen many questions about screen resolution when connecting to an external monitor but unfortunately, non that help me answer my problem.
got a brand new macbook a few months ago and today bought a HP v220 22" external monitor.
I am new to the idea of external monitors and am unsure what i am doing wrong settings-wise. it seems that no matter what resolution i set either my macbook display, or the external monitor display to. the external monitor is still not sharp.
Im not sure how to explain what i need but basically i need it to be so that things appear on the external the same size as they do on my macbook screen, so that i will have more space to work in on my external monitor (i am a graphics student) but at the moment what appears on the monitor is lieterally just a magnified version of my macbook screen, hence it lacks clarity.
the highest resolution offered in the menu for my macbook screen is 1280x800 and my external is recommended to be set at 1680x1050.
what settings should i have to get the resolution right?
i will be so so grateful if you can help. i think ive tried every single display setting but to no avail. so please help me!

The 13.3" screen on the MacBook running at 1280 x 800 will have a ppi (pixels per inch) of around 113. A 22" monitor running 1680 x 1050 will have a ppi of around 90. So it is natural that it will look magnified compared with the MacBook. The two displays have different a pixel pitch.
Since there are no monitors with ~113 ppi out there in the market, what you want to do with having the same size and sharpness between the MB and a monitor will not be possible.
If you ran the MB's screen at 1024 x 640 (not even sure if that is an available choice), then the two screens would match in terms of "magnification." But the MB isn't going to look very sharp running such a low, non-native format.

The program I am using to write this is called BlueJThis has nothing to do with your problem. It is a tool to help you write java, nothing more. The program you are really using is the java compiler. In fact, in your next post here, consider having a better subject header. The one you listed suggested that this was an IDE (Integrated Development Environment) problem rather than a simple java problem. By mislabeling this header, I will bet that you cut the number of folks reading your question by more than half.

Need help with restore problem for itunes v 7.6.2

I just installed itunes version 7.6.2 and I plugged my ipod into my computer and hit the restore button so i can erase and redo my ipod. Then when I plugged my ipod into my computer my ipod is stuck on the restore mode and i can't see the information bar or the music bar under my ipod name. I can only upload music and eject my ipod. PLEASE HELP!!! this is so fustrating.
this is what the screen looks like when i click on my ipod or plug it in.

Minimize your iTunes, right click on your Desktop, click Properties, click the Settings tab. Increase your screen resolution to 1024 x 768. If it looks OK, click OK. You should be able to continue with your iPod.

Need Help Please! Cant unistall Itunes

Hello I am trying to update to itunes 8 and after working on this a few days ago I can not open itunes at all it gives me some quick time error. So I am trying to install the update again. I have tried to do an uninstall of itunes but it gives me an error, so when I went to download the new version of itunes again it goes through several things then when it gets to the uninstall it gives me that same error. Which says... The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click ok to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package itunes.msi in the box below.
then in the box below I have two choices to click on for locations and I have tried both and then this same error reappears.
Any suggestions or help? I have to warn you I am not a computer wiz by any means but I can get my way around one ok.
Again any help out there? I would greatly appreciate it. Oh and by the way the last time I tried to update itunes I had problems.

i would suggest HOLDING the option key down before pressing the power button. you shouldn't need the install disks to do that. also, i would suggest reading the manual at apple.com before trying anything else with the boot order

HT201263 Help please! Problems with iPhone 4 after iOS 6 upgrade

Tried to upgrade iPhone. Got a message saying settings were lost, connect to iTunes. I did this and it said I had to restore. I did this and it said unable to restore due to unknown reason. Now phone keeps trying to upgrade and then restarts. iTunes doesn't recognise my phone.

Help Please ( Speaker Problem Only Playing Through Right)

Can someone help me please, recently my speakers have only been playing through the right speaker, i have tryed headphones and the problem still occurs and no sound is coming out of the left speaker, i have checked all the sound settings and they are all correct.

When you turn your Mac on with either the headphones or the speakers plugged in, do you hear the startup chime "BONG!" only through one side?

All my music on my ipod erased. Help please. Update to iTunes 7.1

I hooked up iPod today and my Itunes launched (as normal). itunes asked me to download the new update which i did and then restarted. Once iTunes launched again on restart my iPod was completely empty. All songs seems to be gone.
Does anyone know if there is a way to recover songs on an iPod? Is this a problem with the new update to iTunes (7.1)? Any suggestions on how to recover the songs that were on there?

When the iPod is updated all the songs are lost.... but then restored from the computer it was originally synced to!
