Help please...AE CS6 won't let me replace clips in the timeline
After Effects won't let me replace clips in the timeline.
I have selected the clip I want to replace.
I have selected the new clip in the project window.
I then option-drag the new clip to the timeline and it will only let me drop the clip in making a new track above or below the clip I want to replace.
It won't allow me to replace it.
I'm using CS6 on an iMAC 3.1 Intel Corei5 16GB RAM.
I've been using AE since 1996 and have not had this problem.
Can anyone help? ~ thanks!

This one actually shows the correct file highlighted in the project window - I'm trying to replace the png in the timeline with the AI file in the project window.

Final Cut won't let me drag clips to the viewer window
So I'm new to Final Cut and for some reason it won't let me drag clips from the browser to the viewer window or drag clips into bins. It's driving me crazy. Is it possible that I turned off the drag and drop option somehow?
Yes, the selection tool was selected. I actually restarted FC and it's letting me drag clips now so whatever I did is undone. Thanks.

problem started when i moved my whole photo library to an external. FCPX wouldn't see it, so I moved it back- to the original spot/. And still fcpx wouldn't relink. So i started to 'rebuild' my movie and drag movie clips again into the timeline but it won't let me (tho it 'see's the clips when i click on 'camera' icon).
It allows me to drag in the original pics (jpegs) but not any of the movies ...arghhh pls help thx!!!!What version are you using with 10.8.5? Why did you import video into iPhoto? What are the complete specs of the video files? Are they in formats that are compatible with FCP?

Just restart your ipad, with version of IOS are you running?
It's possible that your apple id is locked, or there are some prolems with your internet connection. On this site you can check you account en find a solution for your problem. http://store.apple.com/us/help/your_account

My app store won't let me download none of the older versions of apps for my ipod touch 2g.
My app store won't let me download any of the older versions of an app, but in my sisters case she can and she has an ipod touch 2g just like me. She was able to download kik, twitter, instagram, and some more apps that told me I had to have ios 4.3.1 or higher to download. and theres only one app I want and its kik, can someone help me figure out whats wrong with my app store, it would be a great help.
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)

You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists. -
When trying to import photos with iPhoto from photoshop... won't let me keeps saying that the photos are already in the iPhoto library but they are not
If you are using Photoshop from within iPhoto the following may help with the workflow. However, we do need to know the answers to the questions posed by Terence and Larry to be able to help you.
Using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop or Photoshop Elememts as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window
that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
With Photoshop Elements the Saving File preferences should be configured as shown:
I also suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always. In PSE’s General preference pane set the Color Picker to Apple as shown:

Note 1: to switch between iPhoto and PS or PSE as the editor of choice Control (right)-click on the thumbnail and select either Edit in iPhoto or Edit in External Editor from the contextual menu. If you use iPhoto to edit more than PSE re-select iPhoto in the iPhoto General preference pane. Then iPhoto will be the default editor and you can use the contextual menu to select PSE for your editor when desired.
Note 2: editing a RAW file with either PSE or PS creates a new file which must be saved outside of iPhoto, i.e. the Desktop, and imported as a new photo into the iPhoto Library. -

I need help please. I have 6 apps updates shown on on the upper right corner of the app store icon. When i tried to open the apps store and go to updates, the apps that need to be updated were not appearing therefore i have no idea what those apps are so that i can update them. I have an Iphone 5 6.01. I have a notice on my app store that I have an update. Tried to update, but it won't. Connected to Itunes and tried to download update for App. I can't do that either. It won't let me update any of the apps. What is wrong?
My husband and I are using the same iTunes account on all mac & pc computers, but the libraries are different on each machine. We always manually manage our music (no auto sync). iTunes is up to date on the PCs. My husband uses our joint iTunes account on his pc, but once again, has a different collection in his library from those on the other machines. He can't load any music from his PC to his iphone 4. I can load music from my mac library to my iphone 4s, but cannot load from my pc library to my iphone 4s. How can I switch my main library that it syncs with from the mac to the pc?

Brand new Mac user help please! How do you connect a 17" monitor to the MacBook? I have the monitor plugged into the Mac, but the F8 that I am used to with PC does not work. Please help. I am getting lots of spelling errors as the MacBook laptop screen is too small. Thank you so much! .

Normally, you just connect the monitor to the MacBook using a VGA adaptor that you can buy from an Apple Store. Now try System Preferences > Displays > Detect Displays. You should now be able to select a display mode for the monitor. If it still doesn't work, then I'd check that everything is properly connected. I've had problems with colours disappearing due to a faulty connection in the VGA adaptor.

My daughter's itouch (registered to my apple account) is asking for answers to security questions that I never answered and it won't let her buy anything from the iTunes store. I tried a hard reset to original settings but it still asks for answers. How do I reset the security questions or get rid of them appearing altogether? I can purchase apps on my phone (same apple account) and it doesn't ask me for security questions.
