Hi all again, I've asked this question before sorry to ask again, COULD someone please indicate what download speed should I be receiving at my computer in MBps please, Line has been tested by Openreach engineer and been told it is A1,phone wire goes straight to a master socket with a built in filter, no other phone sockets in house, from master socket straight to BT HH3 then a BELKIN Ethernet Cable FastCat5e RJ45 to computer below is screenshot of BT hub manager taken around 8ish tonight. its the 21cn upto well it was 20mb copper line not infinity. All my tests at btspeedtester thingy is wired

the answer has not changed since the last time but marginally slower as your connection speed has dropped from 19.43 to 19.24
last time
with a connection speed of 19.43mb that should give a profile of about 17.13mb so your download speed will be less than that so about 16/16.5mb. run btspeedtester and see the results - not beta version

I had a very larger OTHER folder in itunes, Went and ask Apple rep at shop today and he advised to do a restore but 1st back..
I back up and then did a manual back to make sure it was done.
Then i started iphone restore, all done and now to restore back up.
But i get a error,

ctrl B makes the top bar (File. Edit. View. Controls. Store. Help.) appear and disappear.
ctrl S makes a side bar appear on the left side of iTunes. It shows the library which has Music. Movies. TV Shows. Apps. Playlists. Ect.
When I did the steps you suggested, my iPhone did not show up in that list.
I checked my firewall settings again, and they seem to be okay. My firewall is the only thing that I am not 100% sure of. If I go to Control Pannel>System and Security>Windows Firewall>Allow an app through Windows Firewall. It shows that iTunes is allowed. I'm not sure if something else might need to be allowed as well though. I have a few Remote options that are not allowed such as, Remote Event Log Management, Remote Scheduled Tasks Management, Remote Shutdown, Remote Volume Management, and Routing and Remote Access. I'm not sure if any of these need to be allowed or not, or if they are even affiliated with iTunes.

Intermittent Internet Connectivity Problem. Sometimes freezes Windows XP. Help please, anyone?

We switched from Comcast to Veriozon FIOS about a month ago. Everything has been fine with the internet connection until recently. I have two computers running Windows XP SP3, hardwired to the Verizon wireless router. One has Norton and one has AV Antivirus programs running. Computer 2 suddenly started strange, occasional symptoms. Click on a desktop shortcut icon (any of several, such as Yahoo or Ebay). Intenet Explore begins to load and then freezes. Entire Windows seems to lock up. Use Windows taks manager to try to stop NOT RESPONDING IE. Sometimes successful, sometimes we had to just shut down and reboot the computer. Retry internet by clicking on the tray E for IE icon....no problem getting on line. 10 minutes later, leave internet. Try again...XP freezes up.   In many cases a short cut icon to internet would not work twice. Sometimes Computer 2 would go days WITH NO **bleep** PROBLEM. Now for the last week, computer 2 is running properly, but today, good old reliable No 1 is acting up the same way. All OK 70% of the time...big headache the rest of the time.   I even noticed a report from AV antivirus that internet connectivity was lost. Then apparently restored.
Anyone have a clue what's going on?

1. Norton and AVG antivirus ran last night.   No problems. Spybot also was run.   So I don't think the problem is related to Arun's ideas.
2. I have a MI424WR Verizon router.   The WAN light is on solid green, all the time. The Internet light flashes.
The router is fed by coax.
I dont know what bit torrent is.   Computer 2 is only used for Pogo on line simple stupid gaming (I am whining about wife's activities).   My Computer 1 is only used for ebay and simple web activities.
I tried resetting the router once today...helped nothing.
Just now I could not get connected via shortcuts.   BUT---I can always get on line through Outlook Express. And I got here via an email link.

HELP PLEASE ANYONE my ipod is messed up

never had an issue with my 30gb ipod. until today, i just get home, a song just ends, and than, it shuts itself off, i can't turn it on, nothing (and its not dead, i checked battery life all day, it was well over half).
So i open my itunes, and hook up my ipod to my pc, and itunes says your ipod has been corrupted, you need to restore it. So I click restore, it downloads this thing saying something about bug fixes for my ipod version 1.2.1 . it downloads, and than i think it automatically began installing, and while installing itunes froze. nothing happened, still no response on my ipod
so i go to restart my pc, my pc won't boot all the way up, i turn it off, try to restart it again, it wont boot up again. i unhook my ipod, and start up my pc, and it boots up fine.
i hook up my ipod, go to itunes, itunes wont start. i unhook my ipod, and itunes will start, i hook up itunes, and same process again, says its corrupted and i need to restore it, i click restore, download the bugs fix thing, it starts installing and freezes itunes
HELP ME, if nobody can help whatsoever, pls leave a support # i can call, this is crazy, the ammount of gd money i pay for this thing to do this to me, i really hope it can be fixed or i'll be ******

These types of problems are best diagnosed and repaired when a technician can work with the hardware directly.
When I have problems like that with my Mac and peripherals, I take it all in to an Authorized Service Center for expert tech support to sort out and fix. I would do that in the case that you have mentioned here.

Expander only works form 2 feet away!!! HELP Please, anyone!!

After much fiddling and manual labor, I have finally seem to have a link with my range expander. The problem: I can only access the administrative tools and ping when the darn thing is about 2 feet away. Obviously, this defeats the purpose of having this equipment. I currently have the following set-up:
Modem>>>Netgear Router>>>Access Point [wap54g] ((()))Range Expander v.3
The access point has the most current Firmware and is in "Repeater" AP Mode with expander MAC address specified, WEP security enabled across the board.
Due to some IP conflicts, the default IP had been changed (this seemed to work), subnet and gateway are the usual suspects.
I had to input this stuff all manually, so I am wondering if I am missing something. Please pardon if I sound daft - I am one of those who has enough knowledge to be dangerous - but is there something here that I am missing?
Should the gateway point to the access point IP to ensure it is using the point as a resource rather than the router? Any advice would be appreciated!!! Thanks in advance!

Well the linksys wap54g only repeats the signal of a linksys wrt54g or another wap54g.So the first problem may be there between ur access point and the netgear router..
and secondly the xpander cannot work with a device thats already repeating the signal of a router.....logically .
so the best thing u can try is to get a linksys router (wrt54g) and i am sure that rest of the devices will start working fine.

I use Logic Express on an iMac. I've had it for about a year, and although I've not used it that much, it's worked ok previously.
I'm working on a song which currently has 3 audio instrument tracks (the patches used in these are a mixture of Collosus and Garritan Orchestra). If I try to add a fourth audio instrument, the whole song stops playing properly - each note in each track is cut short. Also, if I flick between Logic and another program (without closing Logic), when I go back into Logic, it for some reason has to go through the process of loading each patch again - it never used to do this.
Could this be a RAM problem? My computer status shows quite a lot of inactive memory, though I don't really know what this means...
I'm due to add some vocal tracks this week, and urgently need to sort this out. If anyone has any suggestions, this would be very much appreciated.

Don't forget to defragment and optimize your drive after you get rid of a lot of your files. Your drive is probably severely fragmented, and would really speed things up by defragging and optimizing.
Tech Tool Pro from Micromat is a good tool for this job.

An external 7200 RPM Firewire drive with a large buffer is the way to go. The Ezquest Pro Audio+ series are good drives for audio/video apps, with a 2 year warranty.

Adobe CS3 programs wont open after reinstalling...help please anyone?

Im wondering if anyone know how to fix this...
Im running windows vista and my adobe creative suite 3 master collection decided to stop working and started saying there were errors and asking that i reinstall. I unistalled the copy and reinstalled and now the programs wont even open, i get no error messages or anything the programs just dont open no matter how many times their clicked.
Ive uninstalled and reinstalled several times trying to install using my activation code, installing without just as a trial and nothing seems to make a difference. Finally after about an hour of waiting Ive just got a message when opening fireworks saying "Licensing for this product has stopped working" something about unistalling and reinstalling that I didnt manage to catch. This is installed as the trial version so there should be no licensing issue... right?
Has anyone else had this happen to them and does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Siri is in beta and does not provide business information outside the US yet. That's coming next year.

DEP Print Crash (Reader 9.3.2) - Help please?

Window DEP (Deta Execution Protection) stops me printing pdfs and the print crashes.
If I tick/check DEP to allow me to use Reader 9 that makes NO difference even though it says if should.
I'm using Reader 9.3.2 - not an earlier version - and the print crash happens either in Reader, using it alone, or when I open a pdf in IE or Firefox.
I am running XP SP3, recently updated from SP2 (there maybe a connecton - was it the XP3 update which did it?)
This is very frustrating. I don't want to abandon Adobe Reader and use a different company's program but I have wasted hours so far tring to find a fix for this.
Incidentally fiddling with Javascript [Reader>Edit>Preferences>Untick Enable Acrobat JavaScript] which is one recommended fix whichdoesn't work.
Maybe there any other files I can get DEP to ignore? (NB they all have to be .exe files so be sure to tell me where to find them!)

All I know is that I can't print from Adobe Reader any more but I can print pdfs since I replaced it with Foxit Reader.
I suspect this is maybe connected with my XP upgrade from SP2 to SP3.
I knew it might mess things up and this happened soon after. I also can't print AT ALL from Firefox now and that happened at the same time too.
Microsoft again....? Who knows. I have solved my pdf printing problem a roundabout way, but not my Firefox problem - tho that isn't for this forum!

I know that the rules are loaded: I printed them to check that. But nothing happens!!!! Almost all layout is gone. If I use the original stylesheet and load my rules on top of them, I can see I have all of them, but everything is layout with the original default style and again my layout is ignored.
HELP Please, anyone. I am desperate (deadline + demo is tomorrow) :-(

GL is far easier to do simple CSS than DW, but once you get through the awkward DW interface, it can become clearer. I can only easily see how CSS is created in DW by exporting a GL site that has some already in it. Still not as easy as GL, but we're now stuck with it.
DW still does not handle full fledged CSS unless you have coding experience.
DW has always been more for the programmer than designer (just try asking a question on the DW forum :-)
CS4 seems to be an improvement, but not there yet.

Hi there, Im using photoshop cs6 and i have been trying to smooth skin. i have been duplicating the layer and choosing overlay in the blend drop down, then choosing filter, other, highpass, raduis of 9px then inverting the layer then i add a layer mask using alt and clicking the layer icon mask and then it tells me to use a soft brush to to paint over and revel the high pass layer but nothing is happening when i try to use the paint brush? can you help please? thanks Olivia

If you are using Safari as a web browser :-
Open Safari, go to Safari menu > Preferences > General, and put Google as the homepage. Then, choose Google as your default search engine.
If you are using Google Chrome as the web browser :-
Open Google Chrome.
In the top right corner of the page, click the Chrome menu Chrome menu > Settings.
In the "Search" section, select Google from the drop-down menu.
