Help please:Bought songs from store, can't synch?

Hello, forgive my newness to Ipod and discussion etiquette. I searched for help and could not locate an answer to the mystery I encountered when I tried to synch my Ipod mini: before the task kicked off, an error message popped up stating that (paraphrased) I was not authorized to add 27 songs to my Ipod. All of which were songs that I had bought (or so I thought) from the Apple Music store - some as recently as tonight but others a year or more ago. I am puzzled - all the songs show in my online music library - but the message indicates I can't load them onto my Ipod? Help! This is so frustrating.

hi there - i just had this problem myself and was very frustrated. you need to log in to your account, and that will allow authorization. i wish they'd say that in the error log. anyway, either go to the itunes store or click on one of the songs you have purchased, and you should be prompted to log in. HTH!

Yes .Just add the songs to the iTunes library you use for the iPod touch and sync them.

Iphone 4 on/off button jammed. It is under warranty. Bought it from Singapore can i get it repaired or replaced in Mumbai without any charges?

The iPhone warranty is only valid in the original country of purchase. You would need to ship the phone to someone you know in Singapore. This would be at your expense. Your other option is to look for a local 3rd party repair shop but this will void your remaining warranty.
    Good luck.

The tab in in iTunes on the computer.
    As Gatorgrad said:
"by right clicking on the song and selecting "Get Info."  Then paste the photo into the album art tab."

  • Syncing bought songs problem from computer to ipod suffle 6th gen. Despartely need help., Syncing bought songs problem from computer to ipod suffle 6th gen.

Okay I have upload songs from my CD's as well. That along with bought idem's are not syncing with my iPod. I can deal without my songs from my CD's, but the some song I bought from the iTunes store seems really unreasonable. I would appreciate some help with this please.

Try playing the TV Show straight from your iTunes library. It will probably ask you for your iTMS login information. Punch it in, and everything should work fine.

  • Help transferring songs from Ipod, can't download Itunes 7

I have an ipod mini, and manually update the songs on my imac G5. I did not realise I couldn't then transfer the songs back to my itunes library. I've seen a previous topic which mentions enabling disk use, can I do this on a mini? How? I tried to install Itunes 7 on my mac but couldn't because I need OSX 10.3.9 and I'm 10.3.5.
All the instructions are confusing me, I need something simple to explain how I can get my songs off my ipod without losing them all as can't bear the thought of starting all over again.
Please help me, thanks in advance.

If you update your iPod manually it's already enabled for disk use. There are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. I use Senuti but have a look at the web pages and documentation for the others too, you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. This is just a small selection of what's available, you can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes

    iPodRip Mac Only

    PodWorks Mac Only
iPodDisk PPC Mac Only (experimental version available for Intel Macs)
    YamiPod Mac & Windows
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac & Windows
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
Keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync.

  • Ringtone problem from bought song off store.

I bought a song off of the iTunes store from my computer at work. I can make it a ringtone for my iPhone on that computer just fine; but I'd rather not as my iPhone is synced to my music library at home.
When I transferred that same song I bought to my computer at home, I could not make it a ringtone. Can you only make ringtones from the computer you actually bought the song from and downloaded to??

The lock represents the digital rights managment (DRM) scheme included for free with every download :/
You can't get rid of the DRM.

  • Please help! Deleting songs from itunes library & updating ipod

Must I keep all albums I wish to upload into my ipod on my computer? I have the ipod settings set to automatic and if I delete the album from the library (completely from my pc) the next time I connect my ipod the album gets deleted from the ipod.
I tried setting the ipod to manual but then I can't figure out how to update my ipod with the songs I want to add. It really doesn't make sense for me to have to fill up my hard drive with all of this music just to keep the songs on my ipod. I really hope someone can please tell me otherwise.

If it's on Manual update, you simply drag the songs from the library to the iPod in iTunes.
If you wan tot remove music, right click on it and select Clear. Do this with the iPod selected not a playlist on the iPod.

  • Can you help me add songs from iTunes 11.0.1 to iPhone4S?

I have a new MacBook Air and am trying to add songs from it (iTunes 11.0.1) to iPhone4S.
However, drag & drop does nothing, which is what I had done on my PC to add songs previously.
Note: I specifically don't want to sync my songs/libraries.  I just want to add the new stuff I uploaed to MacBook Air iTunes to my iPhone4S.
Any thoughts/help would be GREATLY appreciated.

To be fair, not the news I was hoping to hear, but I'd prefer to hear the bad news sooner rather than after expending more time and energy on a fool's errand.
I uploaded the CDs on my MacBook Air as I'm moving everything there.
So, rather than put them on the old computer and then sync there, I'm guessing at some point I'm going to have to bite the bullet and move all my songs from PC to my Mac.
I imagine I'll have to back up on new computer and erase in the process of putting the old songs and the new on there, getting them off my new computer.
One would hope there'd be an easier and less laborious method, especially since in my established pattern of procrastination I can see me putting this off for a while.
Anyway, thanks again for the feedback.

  • Bought songs from itunes, now they're gone.

I bought a song from itunes via my old ipod touch. I've since gotten rid of it and bought a iphone for Verizon. I went to my itunes under "purchased" and it showed all the music I've bought via the computer, but not the one song I bought directly using the ipod touch. I went into the store to download it again, hoping it would acknowledge my "rights" to the song and let me download it again.
I was sort of correct. iTunes warned me that I'd already bought this song and did I really want to buy it again?
To summarize, I paid for and downloaded the song, but now it's gone and I want to get it back without paying for it again. Can anyone help me accomplish this?

Sorry, but officially Apple does not allow redownloads of purchased tracks. It's your responsibility to make backup copies in case something goes wrong with your system, as unfortunately it apparently did in your case, and you lose some or all of your content. The official statement of their policy can be found here, among other places.
It's possible that the track is on your computer but not being recognized in iTunes. Take a look here for some tips on how to look for it. If you can't find the track and you haven't made a backup and don't have your track on a player, you're probably out of luck and will need to repurchase the track.
If you have your track on an iPhone/iPod/etc or have it backed up, post back and someone here can help you get it restored. Otherwise you can try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service (select the category and subcategory closest to the issue you're reporting and you'll find a button to send e-mail to them) and explaining what happened. Reportedly in some cases Apple has allowed redownloading on a one-time basis. But don't count on it.
    Regards.

  • My Ipod won't play bought songs from Itunes

I have a new ipod nano, and it plays songs that I upoad to iTunes from CD, but not ones I buy from the itunes store, they come up and my ipod skips right over them. the only difference I can find between bought songs and songs I upload from CD's is the extension on the bought songs is 'm4p' and the ones from CD's is 'm4a'.
the songs play on itunes, but not my nano, which is confusing cuz I thought iTunes was made for ipods?

See this: iPod does not play content purchased from the iTMS.
If you have made sure that both the iTunes and iPod software are current and have deauthorized and reauthorized your computer, try this test:
    1. Deauthorize the computer.
    2. Create a new user in the system.
    3. Download the free song of the week from the iTMS in the new user account.
    4. Play the song in that user account to authorize again.
    5. Restore the iPod (using the iPod updater) in the new user account.
    6. Sync just the free song of the week and see if it plays on the iPod.
If it does, you appear to have a corrupted iTunes library file, and you should recreate the iTunes library file in your normal user account, and then sync your music back to the iPod and all should be well.

  • Looking for information  and help on syncing songs from itunes to ipod

I just bought my first ipod -the 60gb video ipod. I'm in the process of ripping songs into itunes from about 2,000 CDs and there are some songs I don't want to load onto my ipod. I have 3 questions:
    1. When I sync my ipod with itunes the first time will it load all the songs in itunes or only the ones with check marks?
    2. When I sync it later to load new songs will it just add the checked songs?
    3. If I create new playlists and make changes to old playlists do they automatically update when I sync my ipod to itunes?
Thanks to anyone who has information to help!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
The following answers are based on the assumption that you automatically update. This means you will leave the iPod set to automatically have iTunes add songs (and you don't have to manually drag songs). This should be the default setting. To check, go to edit-->preferences with the iPod connected and hit the iPod tab.
    1) It will add all songs. You can change this though. Connect the iPod (perhaps the first time you are syncing). Go to edit-->preferences. Hit the iPod tab. Select only update checked songs. Now any songs you uncheck are removed from the iPod or not synced at all.
    2) If you have the option I talked about above checked, it will add all new songs that are checked automatically. By default, iTunes will want to have all new content added. But, if you have the only update checked songs option enabled, then only new songs that are checked will be updated.
    3) New playlists automatically sync to the iPod. If you change older playists, these changes will be reflected on your iPod the next time you sync.

  • I need help getting my songs from my ipod to my computer

my computer recently crashed and most of my songs were from cds and i cant get them from my ipod on to my new computer i have no access to the old itunes is their anyway to get them bac on my new computer with out haveing to go cd by cd again

Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you use our iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. The transfer of content sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

    Floola Mac & Windows
iGadget Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

  • Need help in deleting songs from iPod

I'm trying to delete songs from iPod (not library), but song and podcast list is grayed out. I cannot select them to delete them. This seems like a very simple thing to do. I have the latest iTunes and iPod software loaded and have tried the online help, the 5 Rs and restart. I'm feeling really stupid here!!!!!

Set the iPod to manage content manually; you should then be able to select and delete the items listed as being on the iPod.
