Help please! brush and pencil tool vanished!

hi, my brush and pencil tool when on the workspace are now represented by a plus sign and dont do anything. i opened lots of different AI files and it was the same on all of them. before the plus sign icon it was the smooth tool icon, and it did not draw either. do you know what's going on???? i recently plugged in a new wacom tablet and maybe that had somehthing to do with it??????

Update your Wacom driver.
Go to www.wacom.com and download the latest driver for your tablet. The CDs that ship with tablets are generally several versions behind.

Brush and pencil tools don't work properly when using a tabley

When I use the pen or brush tools with a tablet (VisTablet Original), they just make these long diagonal lines. They work fine when I use a mouse and my tablet works in other programs. Is there any way to fix this?

Eraser tool in Photoshop CS4 acts as if it is transparent when on brush or pencil mode. Block acts like its not transparent at all but there are no options for opacity, flow or brush size. It started randomly about two weeks ago and I thought it was a glitch that would just go away. But now I am getting sick of using only the block eraser on one size. Help?

The easiest thing to start with is to reset the Eraser Tool.
Right click on the Eraser icon in the tool options bar and then click on Reset Tool.

In the beginning it says, "using my smart guides" and yet I don't see any smart guides. Nor does doing what I think is the exact same thing being told here produce results that are equal. When I click on a point, let go of the mouse and click on a 2nd point and then continue the process I start getting mirror triangles and then as I progress things start getting really weird. Obviously a few details were left out. No, I would have to say not a good place to be if you are truly a beginner as I am--too many steps left out, too many assumptions (like thinking I am aware of all the terminology) etc. Time to look elsewhere to learn. I thank Adobe nevertheless.

Stroke resetting to 1pt, Uniform Profile in Illustrator CS6 (with brush and pencil)

Hello! This was not an issue in CS5, and I can't figure out how to change it in CS6. I like to Illustrate with the Pencil Tool. I set the stroke to width profile 1 (tapered on both ends) and the stoke to whatever makes sense for my current project, and it keeps changing back to Uniform and 1pt. I have tried to get my settings to "stick" with the Pencil Tool and Brush Tool, and have had no luck. The only way I can change the stroke profile is to do it AFTER the stoke is made. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

In the photoshop elements 13 editor, click on Expert, then you should see the full toolbox.

Brush and smudge tools painfully slow in CS5

I use CS5 on quad core 2.26ghz macpro with 32 gb RAM. It's a clean system, both cs5 and os10.6.6 updated. No extra plug-ins or fonts. I do have an extra video card installed for my raid 5 system. Only use photoshop on this computer. Using the healing brush or smudge tool is painfully slow. also moving layers around are slow. I work on 10-15GB files. My assistant works on my old G5 with 8gb of ram and since it's not an intel he's still working in CS2. Using the healing brush on a 4GB file is faster on the G5 in CS2 than on my Quadcore in CS5. What is going on here? how can I speed things up?
I have cache levels set to 7, cache tile sice to 1024.

i have found that any mac pro i use - not all set up the same- if they have a nvidia card after a few hours of working there will be a slowdown of painting, cloning, smudging and screen redraw. I always have open gl off. adobe engineers have been helping now and then but no one has a solution. on the windows forum someone reportedly adjusted their video card settings to fix it. but on a mac we have to option to do that - that i know of. it is a big problem for me when using CS5 that I use CS3 when possible.

It's working fairly well EXCEPT, and this is a big except: selectors WITHIN each fieldset should be "or" but BETWEEN fieldsets as "and"
In other words, clicking "red" and "yellow" in "color" should get you both kinds of tomatoes. This is how I set it up.
Now, if you check "class" = "heirloom" is adds all the ones that match that term, so you get more tomatoes. I would like "heirloom" to be an "AND" so the user would get yellow or red heirloom tomatoes.
Make sense?

I saw somewhere online that Acrobat provides good support for tablet computers and O.S. However, there is no good tool to let tablet user to write by hand.
The pencil tool seems good, but when I use it to write, the first stroke will be moved/selected when I start the second stroke, which makes writing continuously impossible/difficult.
Could you enhance the pencil tool to facilitate the hand-writing? Thanks a lot! Hope acrobat gets better!

Adobe Pro CC weird graphical issues, and crash on using some tools like brush and pencil.

Just like the title says it keeps crashing.
I'm using the MSI GS60 ghost
with windows 8.1. 16GB RAM, intel core i7, and nvidia gt860m.
Just using my mouse, no tablet or something. Latest Version, And I do not have an Wintab32.dll
Can you help me because I need to use CC for my classes!

A tip for you if your creating the mask using a copy of a color channel. Set the brush blending mode to "Overlay" This will protect the mask Black and White areas. Difference between a brush and a tool preset

Hi folks,
I know this is a rookie question, so please bear with me.
A friend just sent me a .tpl fiile, and I put it into my tool preset folder. It is a fantastic brush/pencil. My question is: the .tpl file, when I loaded it, seemed to have a brush texture associated with it already. Is that true? Or were the tool presets simply being added to a standard brush? If that is true, when I select the preset from the tool preset dropdown on the tool bar, how do I know what brush that preset is applied to?
In short, I guess I don't understand how a preset can be applied to a brush that isn't in my current brush set.

It would appear a Tool Preset can contain a Brush tip without it being represented in the Brush Presets Panel.
Just look at the size of a single Tool Preset saved out compared to the Brush Preset of the same Brush Preset saved out.

Can the removal spots (circular) be resized like they could in LR 4?

Local Adjustment Brush and Gradient Tools not working in LR3.2

I am not sure what i did, but those tool have stopped working. I don't know how i manged to do this or if it is a bug, but i noticed that the color palette is gone from the setting tab for these two tools. If you look on the right tab of the screen shot, you can see that where the colour box used to be, there's nothing. Not even the box with an "x." If i try and use either tool, the whole frame just turns pure grey. Any thoguths or Help would be much appreciated. I'm hoping that maybe i accidentally clicked or hit a key i didn't notice.
