Help please: can you just save a layer?
I have created a layer that I want to use in Fincal Cut. It is a rectangle that is colored yellow. When I save it and then reopen the file, it is my box with a white background like a blank page, but I don't want that - I just want the box. Is there anyway just to save the box and nothing else? I have Photoshop CS4 if that helps.

If you have Illustrator you might want to use Illustrator and just draw a rectangle fill it with the color and export it as .ai format and bring that file into FP.
After Effects would be good for this as well.
But if you must use Photoshop use the vector tools to create the rectangle and the Path Panel to fill it and export it as a .psd and then import that but firest make the document with a transparent background.

And here in Premiere Pro it is imported ( a layered psd allows you to import any or all of the layers from the file.
In this case only one layer is imported and placed on the time line on its own layer as well and adjust to be translucent but with a totally tsransparent background so you ca see the video.
Same should work in FP

This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

I have just set up icloud and all my contacts are duplicated from Address Book! My new iPhone is also showing duplicate contacts even though they are not duplicated in my address book on my computer. Please can you help?
Also, what are the source of your contacts? are they created on the phone, or you synced from yahoo/hotmail etc.
If thats the case, the circular arrow wont be visible but instead show "groups"
Contacts from different accounts are not synced to iCloud. -
I have AVI files that I need to convert to MOV files so that I can edit them in Final Cut Pro. I am going to use Quick Time Pro for this....When I have the files open in QT Pro do I have to 'export' it or can I just 'save as', or is there even a difference? Thanks in advance for your help!
I strongly recommend you use compressor to do the conversion (if it will open the files - since quicktime will open them, it will more than likely do it.
Compressor allows you to customize presets and save them and apply them to multiple files. Although the interface may seem daunting, it's actually pretty simple.
Even if you can edit the avi in fcp, it's not a good idea. Liable to cause problems down the road. -
My right click is not working and producing the context menu or ability to drag files and folders. I just spoke with a phone support person and we checked that all the mouse/trackpad options for right click were correct and checked.
Please can you help with this.

Please can you help. My ipad is frozen. A box is permently on in the centre of the screen saying not enought storage. When i press on the words CLOSE or SETTINGS it doesn't respond. It won't slide to unlock or close down. The ipad is 16GB and about a year old. Any suggestions.
AnnmarieTHis suggestion also worked for my iphone! After a few warnings, the screen on my iPhone froze. there was no way to make phone calls or manage my iCloud storage or even turn it off. I deleted all the photos on my iphone, checked storage and nothing changed. So I purchased more storage, did the backup and still the screen remained frozen. To be sure, I checked that the new amount of storage was registered, it was but somehow my Mac showed the backup I had just performed (a couple of times) not having happened (it show the last one some 2 weeks before). Weird but I followed your suggestion (wish I had seen it before I purchased new storage) and Ta DAH!!! I'm back in business too. thanks!!

Usually Firefox will not save passwords on sites that disallow saving. You could try to use an add-on like [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/lastpass-password-manager/ LastPass] that has options to override that and other.

Before that, as a test you can try to check if it's working here. If not, then you can Reset Firefox and start afresh.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

Please can you help my Register of names... I want a formula that simply adds numbers in a horizontal row of cells that increase as I add them. It can not be a range of selected cells because as I add new cells they are not in the range. Thanks..
Hi Dave,
Any formula that references its own row will return the error message you see unless it is in a Header column.
Convert columns B, C and D to Header Columns, and Jerry's formula will work just fine:
One caution, though—multiple header columns are a known factor in slowing Numbers down as the table gets larger. You can avoid adding header columns by specifying a 'fixed' range of cells from wich to get the sum and count values in C2 and D2.
Make sure the range includes at least one 'extra' column. As more runs are added, add columns by inserting them before this 'extra column. If the new columns are inside the range specified in the formula, Numbers will adjust the formula to add the new columns. If they are outside the range, you will need to edit the formulas yourself.
Note revised formula:
To add four more runs, click on any cell in column L, then press option-left arrow four times to insert four new columns. Note the change in the formula:
The last column is always included in the formula, but never gets counted (or summed) because its content is interpreted as a Text value, not a number.
Note: Except for the change formulas and added columns, this is your original table, with one Header row and one Header column.

New air pad air is not charging. please can you help me.
Please can you advice me I have a brand new Ipad air and it will not charge the battery. It is completely dead now.
Just to say that I went to the apple store and they were more than helpful and because it was brand new and not able to be fixed in the ways suggested then they changed it. But I had tried every option and ruled all the simple things out first because of the helpful suggestions and it also helped to have contacted the online help too which recorded the details and I was able to prove it back to the ipad being the one linked to the receipt and seriel number the through the email they sent even though the computer had not power....
so now happy with charging IPAD.. -

I ordered an iPhone 5s in early September from the orange shop in Chamonix Mont-Blanc France.
I needed a new phone as i dropped my iPhone and broke it so it thought i would upgrade.
I was asked in the shop if I wanted a black or white one, I asked for a Black one, as all my iPhones have all been Black as I DON'T LIKE White ones. (sorry)
I was told my phone would arrive in a week so I waited with broken phone for new one. The following week I was told it would be the following week, the following week i was told the same but the assistant in the shop told me they would ring me when it arrived. Three days later i recieved a text from the shop to say the phone would be in tomorrow, when I went in they said it had not arrived and they would call me when it was in the shop.
They called me on Thursday the 17th of October to say the phone was in the shop.
I arrived at the shop at 6:00pm after my work, the shop closes at 7:00pm. I recieved the phone, signed for it and extra unwanted insurance with I was told I could only canceled in a month. I was then told they didn't have any sim cards in the shop, i said no problem the Phone i assume will need charging so i will take it home and charge it and return for the sim tomorrow.
So the Phone remained boxed.
When I returned home and opened the box I realised it was a white one, I replaced the lid put it back in the bag, and returned it to the shop first thing Friday 18th October, to point out the error, only to be told "to bad" ?? I was told I could have changed it the night before but not this morning? They said I had ordered a Black one but as I had signed for a White one nothing can be done. I was angry and left the shop. I returned later the same day with a French friend to try and resolve this problem, as I wasn't sure if something was being lost in translation. I didn't think I was being unreasonable, it is a very expensive piece of equipment and this wasn't what i wanted. They told my friend that the phone was not available in Black, that was the 5, and that the 5s was only available in silver and gold, and that mine was a silver one.
I then thought it was my mistake as it was a new phone. She put a sim in the phone put it in the box and I left for a business meeting only to arrive and see a Black iPhone 5s sitting on the table??
So I then returned back to the shop with the Black one and mine still all boxed and untouched to prove they had blatantly lied to me an hour ago, only to be told that there was nothing they were prepared to do.

A minor point, but it may avoid a little confusion if, instead of saying "black" in reference to the iPhone 5s, say "space gray":

I am trying to send all of m photos to my iphone from my old phone (Nokia N97 mini). I have paired the devices, the iphone says it is connedted but when i try to transfer the data from the Nokia, i get a message saying could not connect.
Please can you help??
ThanksFile transfer by bluetooth is not supported on the iPhone. There are a few apps in the app store that permit the transferring of photos by bluetooth, but this is only iPhone to iPhone. Fact is, you can't do what you're trying to do, so you can quit trying.

Please can you clarify what won't switch on, the WiFi or phone?
If it's the phone and have recently run out of battery, plug it into a charger, and wait 5 minutes before trying to switch it back on again; iPhones, if they run out of battery when plugged in again sometimes take a short while to turn on.
To connect to a WiFi you will need access to the network key, may also be called the WEP key. This can commonly be found on the bottom of your router or on a seperate card that came with it. -
