Help please! I can't hear my friends

I can go into a video chat and see my friend and he can hear and see me but I can't hear him! All I can do is see him. He does have a microphone on his camera and its on. Still no sound from him Yes my camera is plugged in correctly and my speaker all the way up but I can't hear anything he says. I'm working off my AIM account. Can someone help me please?

Welcome to the Apple Discussion Pages
First At both ends go to the iChat View menu.
Make sure the Show Video Status and Show Audio Status items are ticked.
Next go to the Video menu (Audio on Mic only computer) to the right of the Buddies menu, and make sure Camera and Microphone are Enabled (ticked).
In System Preferences > Sound >input tab, make sure Microphone you want to use is selected and the volume adjusted to repond over halfway.
Next go to iChat menu > Preferences > Video > Microphone drop down and make sure this matches the choice above.
In the same Section make sure the Bandwidth Drop down is set to NONE.
Back to System Preferences, this time Quicktime > Streaming tab.
In the drop down make sure the speed matches the download speed you (both) have.
All these have a direct or indirect influence on the success of the Audio part of the chat.

I Can't Hear My Friend

Hello,
I have zero audio during calls I've always had no problems with. My speeds are fast, but my bars are red always. It makes no sense. I've read all the Skype info in support and nothing helps. How can I find the problem?
I have Windows 7, Chrome is my default, I don't run any other programs during skype, and I use Microsoft Security Essentials. My version of Skype is 6.22.81.105.

If he has made the three checks above and can see the Blue bar in Sound move and the green one in iChat then the next likely thing to check is Bandwidth.
He should have a connection speed from his ISP of at least 100kbps both Up and Down for 1-1 Video.
His speed needs to be set in System Preferences > Quioktime > Streaming tab
The Drop down is best set at 1.5Mpbs T1/Intranet/LAN as the Automatic returns a zero to iChat and the Intranet/LAN top setting also returns odd figures iChat can not use.
Sound tends to be the thing that gets dropped first if Bandwidth is marginal.
he should check that he has not got lots of Internet abble apps and Widgets running.
Same with other computers on the same modem/internet link.
Your Connection Doctor readings will point to whether he is actually sending any sound or if the problem is somewhere else.

It's more likely a failed Erase Free Space, which creates a huge temporary file; that's why it looks like you have no more available drive space. You can recover from this. See these links

Open the Mac App Store and try downloading Yosemite. If you get told it's incompatible, the computer's also incompatible with Mountain Lion and Mavericks; if desired, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Xeon or Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) CPU and 2GB of RAM, and if it does, click here and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Back up your data and check your applications for compatibility before upgrading. In particular, Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC programs such as versions of Microsoft Office prior to 2008.

Mozilla, like many other software companies, thoroughly test their software before releasing it to the public and I'm sure that no problem you are having is intentional.
I do not work for Mozilla but I do have experience of releasing software for public usage.
Firefox has no way of knowing what other software is already on your computer and with millions of combinations it isn't always possible to test for every scenario.
You can go back to the old version of Firefox but that won't always solve your problem.

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then the steps half-way down this page should let you reset them : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down the HT5312 link above to add a rescue email address for potential future use

I would try updating through a computer. Just make sure that your computer has the latest itunes

Help please! Can't sync ipod with itunes among other problems

I reset my ipod deleting all information on it. Whenever I turn it on with the button on the top left the apple is lighted for awhile and then the screen fades to black. This is all my ipod touch does. My itunes doesn't recognize my ipod touch either. I thought that once I reset the ipod it would easily sync with itunes and put all my music, videos, and apps on it. Help please.

Under your post is says that you are using a docking charger to sync it????? Try using the cord that came with the ipod.
Can you get into the ipod to use it or is that all it does.
If you have jailbroken your ipod, this could be the reason for the problem.
You could also try holding the home and top left (on/off) button at the same time and wait until the apple logo come up.

Whenever I try to start itunes it asks me to accept terms and conditions and then when i click "agree" to continue nothing else happens and it won't open.
I recently had to re-install itunes as it wouldn't work when i connected my new iphone.
Any help would be much appreciated as I have been trying to resolve this for weeks and it is getting increasingly frustrating.

Help Please I can't find the TV show section to download.

Hi, I'm new here and joined because I love the American TV show 'Supernatural', we are way behind in the UK and was told that iTunes store had the episodes yet to be seen in the UK but I can't find the tv section anywhere. I followed the help section which said to click on iStore, then tv shows from the genre list on the popup section but I didn't get a pop up list.
Can anyone help please.

The tv episode section is on the left hand side of the iTunes store and is in between the top movies and top music video's. Well that is how it is in the U.S, maybe iTunes doesn't have tv episodes available over there, or maybe they just don't have american shows.

Help please - I can't update to a more up to date iOS software?

I'm trying to update the iOS version onto my ipad1 - I've tried to follow apples instructions for this but fail at the stage of being able to select 'software update' under 'settings' then 'general' it's not there in the menu - can someone help please? Contrary to apples statement of alerts being sent when new software is available, I've never received anything since getting my iPad about 2.5 years ago, so I'm still on 4.2 software.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

Urgent help please. Can't get image on LED cinema display.

My husband has a traumatic brain injury. His existing monitor went kaput yesterday, & I've been trying desperately to set up a new LED cinema display with his Mac Pro that was purchased May 2007 for the past 4.5 hrs without success. Can't get any image on it & don't know what else to try. Any suggestions please?

Can we assume that the graphics card has been replaced with one that has a mini display port, such as the Radeon HD 5770 or the Geforce GT 120? The originally shipped graphics card options for the 2007 Mac Pro do NOT have the Mini Display Port.
Does my computer have a Mini DisplayPort connector?
If not, one will either need an Atlona AT-DP400 adapter to connect the LED Cinema Display to a dual link DVI port of the graphics card OR to replace the graphics card with one that is equipped with the Mini Display Port.
Review of the Atlona AT-DP400.
Also, does the Mac Pro have OS X 10.6.4 or later?

Help Please I can't print IE or Safari with 10.4.4

Can anybody HELP ME PLEASE. I have upgraded to 10.4.4 and now I can't print from Internet Explorer or Safari. I don't have any problems with Mail or any other programs. I just can't print any web pages and I need to do that often.
I have tried all the trouble shooting from the Apple site and nothing works. Everything seems good. I am using a HP all-in-one 2200 series printer. I have updated the driver for it to 3.0.1.
Please don't get really technical with answers, cause I'm a mechanic not a programer:)

Please do a search on the forum for "safari blank pages" or something similar. I believe that a workaround to this problem appeared a little while ago. Hope this helps.

Hey guys! My name is Glenn and heres?my story! I have the SB Audigy 2 on my computer for the last 5 ?years +. I also had it connected to a 300 watt Panasonic surround sound reciever via the digital out to the recievers "coax in" for my DVD/ Gaming and it worked great. Then?my Panasonic finally took a dump!?So.....time to buy a upgraded surround system! Yeah! So I bought a 000 watt LG 5. system and it sounds GREAT, when played from the LG receiver! Unfortunatley the only digital in it has is a optical TosLINK. So I figure after looking at the Creative SB website it's tme to buy a Digital I/O module and I'll be good to go.......WRONG!?My I/O module gets here, I plug it into the digital out on my SB Audigy 2 card and a BIG NOTHING! So since I was using the Windows XP drivers with my SB sound card I figure if I intall the Audigy 2 software maybe the software will have a digital output fix, so I do a system restore point prior to installing the SB software (figuring just in case of emergency I can roll? my system back)and then I installed the SB Audigy 2 software. Again a big NOT! So after more research it looks like it is not compatable! ARRRRGGGGHHHHH!So time for a sound card upgrade with Digital I/O module compatability, hence I now?own the?SB Fatalty Professional card as of yesterday. So before I?install the new card I set about removing all the old SB software.So I'm cool TILL?I try to remove the SB Audigy 2 software! [color="#ff3300">BAM! I get that stupid "Unhandled Exception Error number 0x8004020"?screen at the 65% unistall mark!!!!!!!!! Well now I'm pissed! I have talked to 3 different cust. service reps. and they have not been able to help other than sending me to this forum. Can someone help me getting my Galaxy Tab 10.1 authorized?
I have downloaded ADE to my laptop, and authorized that computer. I was told to deactivate, attach the Galaxy and the authorize again, and the Galaxy should show up. This does not happen - and I have done this a couple of times. What steps am I missing?
