Help Please! iMac screen colours have gone crazy

Can someone please please help me to solve this problem? I was playing around with my new iMac screen settings. I made changes to the calibration colour settings. Now I notice that the colour has all gone to alpha, gamma range and is looking horrible. Can someone please help me to restore the factory settings for the display? Or suggest ways in which I can fix it please? That would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Open System Preferences->Displays->Color and select "iMac". That should be the factory default settings, as when you run the calibrator the last thing it asks you is what you want to call your calibrated profile. The default name is "iMac Calibrated" which should be in that list too. If its not there and you overwrote the original, click the "Calibrate" button again and just click through it using the default choices it gives you. This will return the display to its default look.

I have a 2 month old imac, with a great screen. But for some reason I cant se light shades of colour like 5% of a tint.
yet on older macs, and a 2 year old imac, i can see them prefectly.
Some designs have light panels with 5% colours, some a precent of a colour.
Can anyone suggest a way to calibrate the screen, or set the screen to show all the colours n tints used as accuratley as possible.

The fdisk output shows that it is a single GPT disk. Has any disk manipulation been done, like resizing or repartitioning.
Your GPT looks correct. If you create a Hybrid MBR via gdisk and include partitions 2,3 and 4 and make 4 bootable, does Windows partition show up in Startup and as a separate volume in Finder?

Play Counts have gone crazy

I am not sure what has happened but sometime over the past few weeks my play counts have gone crazy. I have songs that are reporting a play count of between 265 and 769. Obviously these are not even close to correct (especially since the next closest number is like 20). Is there any reason this might have happened? Is there any way to correct this information without resetting the play count for those tracks completely?

Many thanks again. I do not understand the concept of 'using the script' on the page you refer me to: I am not terribly technical! Basically, I don't understand the comment 'Save the text of this file and add the extension .js and put it in your script folder and run the script in Window > Utilites > Scripts >' How do I save the 'text of this file', and does this refer to everthing that is in the box, beginning '//blind Open' and ending '}'? What is my 'script folder' and how do I find it? Is this a folder in InDesign, or Windows (I'm running Windows 7, 64bit).
I did try to open the 124 byte file (sorry, I said 124 KB by mistake), and got an error message that it could not be opened. Also, as a check I exported a much smaller file (1244 KB, as opposed to the 'problem' file, which is 5668 KB), and the resulting file was 48 KB.

S930 screen colour have a problem when play the video

I have the problem about my S930 smartphone when I was playing the video.The screen colour to become gray and striped.I just bought at the beginning of this month but already there is a problem.What I need to do.help me......

Just over 3 months of usage but within 2nd month this screen effect started
The screen scrolling also affected with delays or double images due to delays.

Display colours have gone all strange

The colours on my iphone have gone all weird, I can only discribe as psychedelic. Any ideas how I get it back to normal?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
They are probably negative colors. To disable that, open Settings > General > Accessibility, and turn off Invert colors

Help! Colours have gone mad!

I know it must be something obvious, but can anyone resolve my problem. Here is a (very poor quality ultra-compressed) screenshot of my desktop and PS CS3 with a screengrab of the same desktop (obviously!).

Freeagent, thanks a lot. You were right, I did recently change to Prophoto as my working space and that was the problem.

HELP, please! My photos have disappeared from iPhoto library & I can only see them on the screensaver.

Firstly, I should say we haven't updated/installed/deleted anything. I just opened iPhoto yesterday and first it told me it couldn't open up without specifying a library, but then it seemed our library has just disappeared. I then created a new library as, I have to admit, me & my DH are complete tecno dummies, but that didn't help much. The only thing which we have done in the past couple of days is set up the screensaver to play our photos. So now we can only see the photos on that - I'm presuming that means they haven't been completely lost (?) but am in a panic as we've got no back-up (three years worth of photos!).
When I go on 'system preferences' (hope that's the correct translation, our computer's using Italian) and the screensaver, I can see 'picture folder' where all the photos are but I can't find that anywhere else on the computer.
Also, I read other threads about similar probs & tried launching iPhoto pressing down 'option & control' but that didn't help me out either.
We also spent half an hour on the phone to the Apple helpline here in Italy (yes, that's a charged call) to try and understand what's gone wrong and the advisor just kept telling us she didn't know how to help us out 'cause our Mac is an old model
Apologies in advance for my complete ignorance about how to solve this problem but I'd be really grateful if someone out there could shed some light on what's happened.

when you say to go to my Pictures Folder, do you mean to go on Finder, then Pictures, then look at the iPhoto library?
Yes. Is there more than one there?
The material in your screensaver are cached images. They cannot be recovered and soon they will go way.
If you have deleted your Library (and it sounds like you have done this, accidentally) the you have deleted your Photos and you need to restore from your back up.

We have had infinity for a few months now, over the last few weeks we have had countless problems connecting.
The wireless connections are constantly dropping in and out, all day long, on the laptops and phones.
I have tried changing the wireless channels, the encryption settings, wireless connection speed, each time I have changed something I have applied changes and tried each device to see if anything has improved.........
My iphone now point blank refuses to connect and the android is also swapping between BtFon and our hub every 30-60 seconds!!
Please help, this is driving me insane!

When you say nothing do you mean you iMac will not start Aperture will not open, picture you have put in to Aperture are not there? What?
You will want more RAM to be sure.

Help!! My BlackBerry has gone crazy :(

I am very upset with my experiences with this phone, although this is important so I will be brief.
I was trying to sign in to Windows Live Messenger on my BlackBerry Curve 8520 last night when it said Connection Error (65). I said no big deal because this happens a lot. But after a bunch of times I began to get frustrated and I looked it up and it told me to reset my phone. No help. Then I decided to delete the app. I fell asleep after doing so and I woke up in the morning to re-add the application via BlackBerry App World. It said I need a WiFi connection to do so, and I am already connected to my hotspot. I checked my router and it's fine, and obviously it works because I am able to use it via my laptop. It says I am connected to my hotspot on my phone but it won't show anymore and I am no longer able to do anything using WiFi and the internet.
I am also having a potential battery problem that just started today. I have had it charging all night and I unplugged it this morning and the battery is now almost dead. Usually it would still be a full charge for the most part.
This is extremely frustrating and if you could give any suggestions it would be appreciated. I really don't want to spend 2-3 months waiting for my phone to get repaired incase I have other options.

You do know there has been a pretty widespread RIM data outage today in the Americas, and the past three days in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
This is probably the source of your problems. Just be patient, it will work again.
Meanwhile, you can Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. Help! iMac screen hurts my eyes!

Just upgrade from my macbook pro laptop to a 27" iMac. I love it but after even a few minutes of using it, my eyes begin to hurt. And when I look away from the computer, my vision is a little blurry. My eyes have been fatigued for a few days now because of this. I have perfect vision and never had trouble looking at computer screens before. I've tried adjusting the brightness, the display settings, changing the lighting in my office, everything!
Can anyone recommend a good solution for me? Maybe an aftermarket glare protector?

Before you buy plastic film or something to stick over your Display, there a are a couple of other free things that you should try first.
1. Shades > http://www.charcoaldesign.co.uk/shades
+Shades is also great if your working in a dimly lit room.+
2. Selecting and/or Calibrating a darker Display Profile.

Help please! start up problems plus crazy sounds!

hi!
i am in great and desperate need of help (i have a paper tomorrow and my powerbook goes crazy!) and i'd appreciate any replies. anyway, here's the problem:
last week i had a new cd-rom installed (the hardware) and had an additional memory added to my powerbook. anyway, last night, i was importing music from my cds to the laptop and then it starts having this crazy gurgling sound coming from the bottom left of my laptop, where the fan is (i believe). anyway, it stopped after a while.
however, this afternoon, i was importing music again when it just went crazy with the sounds and won't stop. everything then hanged, including my word and powerpoint document, my internet browser, everything. it wouldn't even respond to ctrl-option-esc. so i removed the battery. i made it rest and tried opening after an hour.
it won't start up. it just makes the crazy sound and goes to that all white page with the apple in the middle. it just stays in that mode, with the loading thingy going round and round, but nothing's happening. meanwhile, the laptop continues making crazy sounds and i can't access anything except that page.
if anyoen can help me, i'd really really appreciate it!

well I would say it means that theres a problem with the CD rom or memory. I would remove the new hardwhere and see if that helps. Then if it does I would backup everything and then add the memory and see if it works then if it dose then add the CD rom if it doesn't work after that you know its a bad CD rom. If the memory makes it have a problem remove it and add the CD rom if it works then you know it was the memory. Then I would buy a program call techTool Deluxe or Pro that allows you to test your computers hardware Or another way thats alot less time consumming is just remove the new hardware hope this helps

URGENT HELP NEEDED: iMac screen suddenly going half dark?!

So earlier tonight I was using my iMac perfectly, then had to stop since I was going out with friends for dinner and to see a performance and when I came back, shook my mouse awake my screen came back on from it's sleep mode and was fine and then the top half dimmed.
I tried messing with the lighting because I thought maybe my roommate's cat may have stepped on it, but it was at 100%. I rebooted, turned it off for 5 minutes then turned it on again and it comes on fully lit for a split second then dims at the top again. It's not black, but you can see that the screen has dimmed a lot. I'm attaching a picture, hopefully you can tell what I mean. It's a kind of crappy phone pic but that's all I have right now.
I bought this iMac in May 2007, so I doubt I have any warranty left and I can't remember or find paperwork to see if I bought apple care protection.
Does anyone know what this could be? I've read on another forum that it might be a back light going out. Any idea how much that would cost me?

Well, some questions ?
I'm just another user and no expert, but:
*Might not want to shut it down until you have backed up your data, First!*
1.) Does everything else run good? --if "beach balling" badly, call an expert and I wouldn't shut it down or sleep it.
2.) Is there a hardware test you could run? --each version of OSX generally has something like disk utilities you can run. Try apple's downloads page for useful 3rd party utilities, assuming you can run them o.k. and everything "seems" fine except for screen.
3.) Do you have it plugged into a surge protector? --sometimes they get used up. You could (after verifying hardware and preferably backing up data) try it on another wall socket in another room, to check electrical viability. You might have a bad or dangerous wall outlet. If the wall gets really hot above the outlet, have it checked out immediately. Houses burn down every day from bad outlets and old aluminum electrical wire. (lol, I'm not saying anything bad about your house.....just trying to cover the basics).

Cannot get any movement in Monitor window when playing a clip (PE10); preview frame of clip(s) simply shows a white screen. Have gone through standard settings analysis, etc.

Since October 2013 to the present, there have been a growing number of reports about display and unexplained
workflow glitches specific to the Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer has a NVIDIA GeForce
video card. If this applies to you, then the “user to user” remedy is to roll back the NVIDIA GeForce video card
driver as far as is necessary to get rid of the problems. The typical driver roll back has gone back as far as
March – July 2013 in order to get a working Premiere Elements 10. Neither NVIDIA nor Adobe has taken any
corrective action in this regard to date, and none is expected moving forward.
