Hi
Not quite sure how you got to this problem because loading the PC software shouldn't have had any effect unless you had the device connected at the same time.
Yes, you can get the device back to new state, probably better than when it came out of the box. The following is the write-up of what I did. Read it carefully first and make sure the device is plugged in only when required.
In the guides it says to do a backup. Do this if you haven't already done so saving the file to a place and in a name that you can easily locate on computer.
I then uninstalled DTM and then deleted all other references to BB/Rim in Windows Explorer thus removing the OS for the BB from the computer in order to ensure that the version I would reinstall would be a brand new downloaded version.
Get the latest Desk Top Software
http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/?CPID=OTC-DSKTPSW&cp=OTC-DSKTPSW
and install it on the computer.
Get the correct latest version of the OS
http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
and save it to computer.
To erase all the data on your BlackBerry device, complete the following steps. This option is available with
BlackBerry Device Software 3.8 and later.
1. In the device Options, click Security.
If you are using BlackBerry Device Software 4.1, click Security Options > General Security.
2. Click the trackwheel and select Wipe Handheld.
3. Click Continue.
4. Type “blackberry”. All the data on the BlackBerry device is erased.
On some new versions of BlackBerry software, the menu navigation is slightly different.
1. Go to Options.
2. Select Security Options.
3. Select General Settings.
4. Click the Menu key.
5. Select Wipe Handheld.
6. Click Continue.
7. Type “blackberry”. All the data on the BlackBerry device is erased.
Launch the new Desk Top Software on the computer
1. Connect your device to your computer.
2. On the home screen of the BlackBerry® Desktop Software, click Update my device.
3. Do one of the following:
* To download an update, click Get update.
* To view other available versions of the BlackBerry Device Software, click View other versions. If applicable, click another version. Click Install.
Ensure the new OS is the one you prevously downloaded.
Do not disconnect the device until the whole process is completed and the device has rebooted.
After 10 minutes reboot again by removing the battery whilst powered-on and leave it out for a couple of minutes.
Leave it again for 10 minutes. You should now have a fully functioning BB!

  • HELP PLEASE! Blackberry curve 8520 - keep getting stuck on "white screen"

Hi i only have this blackberry curve 8520 for like 3 days and already its getting stuck on the "white screen" i experienced this problem with my previous blackberry and after several battery removals it broke and wouldnt turn on again and NOW this new blackberry with the same white screen problem! please HELP ME ANYONE PLEASEEEEEEEEE!!!
    thanks

Do you have a media card installed? If so, remove the battery while the phone is powered on, remove the media card (leave it out), then reinsert the battery and let the phone fully reboot. See if that makes a difference or not.

  • I need help with my Blackberry curve 8520 urgently

    Hi
I have a blackberry curve 8520, last night the battery was low and my phone went off, I charged it throughout the night and this morning when I woke up it wouldn't go on, I then put it on charge again and I have been struggling to get it on since then, all it does is when I put the charger in the red LED light goes on for about 15seconds then the screen goes blank then 5seconds later it shows in the middle of my screen a battery charging.
If there is anyone that can please help me to get my phone back on I would appreciate it.
    Kind regards

  • Lost BB Curve 8520

    Hi,
I am new to this, so please don't moan if this question has been asked before.
My 12 yr. old daughter recently lost her curve on the bus on the way to school; I reported it to all the relevant departments with no joy. The phone was blocked by our phone company but I was wondering whether or not anyone (bb) can tell if the phone is still being used via the bb pin?
I have heard that phones can be unblocked by unscrupulous individuals, so I was just wondering if anyone had caught on to the idea of tracing if a phone is being used by the pin, as it is a unique number to that phone???
    Thanks any help appreciated

Yes, but you must FIRST have pre-installed an application like BlackBerry Protect or SmrtGuard in order to track or trace the phone. Like insurance, it must be thought of BEFORE the loss.

  • Help please ~ Lost calendar

Hi, this is probably a dumb question, but is there anyway to restore a calendar that has been deleted? When my mobile me account ended, I was disabling all the settings on the phone for that account. Well, I did not know what I was doing when I was prompted to delete that info from the phone...thought my calendar was separate from the mobile me account...well, it was not. I really, desperately need to restore my calendar. Is there any way this is possible? Could there be a copy saved somewhere? Please help... Thanks...

It's likely that you have lost the calendar. Calendars are not included in a backup so restoring a backup will not help. The only hope I can see is if you were syncing MobileMe with a calendar app on your computer, such as Microsoft Outlook. If so you should be able to sync from that app to the phone.

  • Help!!! Curve 8520

    Hi everyone!
    Hoping someone can help!
I updated my BB today for the first time since i've had it, been very slack but i'm currently a busy mummy to a beautiful baby girl! Anyway, my problem!!!  I updated the software and nothing looks the same anymore, its taken me all day to reset everything and still its not right.  I have a downloaded theme on and the only part that works is the main screen, applications went missing and then I couldnt download fromt he actual phone so had to come on the net and do it  my call logs have changed, as well as my texting and my key lock to the mute button  i much prefered my old set up apart from the new BB messagener! Oh and i cant check in on my 8520, yet i know a couple of other people who have the same phone that can
Is there anyway i can go back to the old verison or is everything thats gone wrong normal?  im a bit new to the whole BB thing!
Thanks for any replies in advance!

    Hello,
Not knowing the OS level you came from and updated to, it's impossible to tell you if this is normal. Some of what you said gives hints, though...the key lock change in particular. That tells me that you updated to a 5.0 OS level where that function was changed. And, if you've as you say been "slack", then it is possible that you've come up to 5.0 from something quite older. If so, then yes...things changed quite a bit from where you were to where you are, so I'd surmise that things are close to normal.
As for your theme -- you must be sure that your theme is compatible with the OS level you are running. If not, then things can go quite awry.
If you really want to fall back, then you can use this procedure to install (upgrade, downgrade, reload) any OS level onto your BB as long as the OS package is for the exact same model number:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
You can even use OS packages from other than your BBs original carrier by simply inserting, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, of a file named VENDOR.XML.
For the most part, though...I'd advise giving yourself time to get used to this OS level. Like all things, the challenge of change isn't in what one is changing TO, but rather the fact of changing FROM.
    Good luck!

  • Help! Lost Apps

I just erased my entire computer contents, after saving the files i needed. I completed an erase and install of Tiger but now I realize that iPhoto, iMovie, Garage Band and maybe other apps are missing. I only have 24 in the Apps folder. I do want to buy the new version of iLife, but for now i would prefer to have my apps back. Please help.

Not to give you an unsolicited lecture, but unless you are having serious software issues or replace te hard drive, there is rarely a reason for a Mac user to do an erase and install. This is not Windows after all.
What you will need is a copy of Pacifist to pull those apps of your original install disks to install on your Mac again. The iLife apps and all other apps that came with your Mac are on those original disks.

  • Help please lost Masters How can I print copy images?

    Hi,
In order to get more space on MacBook Pro. I have been backing up and deleting images to separate HD. Unfortunately I have deleted some Master Images and cannot now find them. I do have copies within Aperture but it will not allow me to print them or export them to print them in another application (Photoshop Elements 4) Can anyone help me with a way round this please?
    thanks
    Rick

a simple solution is to drag them to a folder on the desktop. Then you can reimport them, print them open them or whatever.

  • HELP needed for BB Curve 8520

i need help here guys, i just deleted an email off my phone without reading it and yet it still says that i got an email on my hotmail account and now the icon on the menu just wont go away, i know its a minor thing to moan about but its really irritating me i tried switching it off and back on again, but that didnt work either!

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Can you clarify a little bit please?
What, exactly, does "it still says that i got an email on my hotmail account" mean? What, exactly, is "it"? Where, exactly, are you seeing this indicator? Your PC? The webmail interface to HotMail? Your BB?
Further, what, exactly, does "now the icon on the menu just wont go away" mean? What icon? Where? What menu? Where?
    Thanks.

  • Help please with app syncing

Hello all, I'm new to apple, purchased an IPad a couple of days ago, and am having problems getting apps onto the IPad.
I had purchased apps on the IPad, but they weren't showing up in ITunes. When I purchased an app in ITunes, it wouldn't "sync" onto the IPad (and I couldn't drag it onto the IPad). I enabled "Manual Sync", and all the apps were removed from the IPad and are now in ITunes, and I cannot figure out how to get them back into ITunes.
I tried dragging them from my Library onto the IPad but I just get a cricle with a line thru it. I am able to drag music from the library to the IPad.
I tried looking thru the Apple support, but it looks like they should be syncing automatically.
Help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I don't understand what you're trying to do. You have apps on iTunes on your PC that you want to sync to your iPad? When you plug your iPad into the PC, in iTunes you should see your iPad in the left column. Click on that and then on the right you should be apple to click on the Apps tab and select which apps to sync onto the iPad.
Also, make sure your iTunes is authorized for the iTunes account you're using on the iPad. Click on Store -> Authorize computer and log into your iTunes account (it will tell you if it's already authorized or not).

  • I need help with my blackberry curve 8520

My phone hasnt been dropped, knocked or water damaged!! But the screen has gone all funny. Its whiteish - but so i can still see the icons and texts etc but with great difficulty. At some angles, it almost looks like a rainbow! 02 said to take it to a store but i was wondering if anyone knew any quick fixes?  Its still working fine by the way i just cant really see anything!

Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
Let us know what the screen is like after.

  • Help please new app user!

Hi I have recently downloaded a free app named paint sparkles for my daughter & I have upgraded to allow the app to do more, I currently have this on my iPad, should the upgrade also show on my iPhone 5, as it is still showing the version without the upgrade. Do I have to purchase it twice to show on both devices?

Has it been disabled via Settings -> General -> Restrictions?
I assume you have checked other pages of apps by swiping to the left from the home screen?

  • Help please Lost iTunes library from my MacBook Including both itunes purchased songs and uploaded from CDs. everything is still on my iPad is there a way to transfers it please.

there is a list of the songs on my MacBook but the media files have disappeared, also from my back up.
Tried to down load from iTunes Match but no success.
    Any help much appreciated

iTunes won't transfer or download a track if there is an entry in the library for it, even if that entry is no longer attached to a file.
See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
iTunes Store > Purchased > {Media} > Not on this computer may allow you to download all missing items.
