Help Please....Missing Fonts

After a recent archive and reinstall, I opened iWeb and received the message, "The following errors occurred while trying to open this document." Apparently, I am missing the following fonts:
CourierNewPSMT
Handwriting-Dakota
AcademyEngravedLetPlain
Palatino-Italic
I have searched the iWeb forum and from my understanding, I could delete the ats cache. However, do I delete the entire folder? Including the system folder within the com.apple.ats folder?
I have searched for the missing fonts in both the system/library/fonts folder and user/library/fonts folder, but could not find these missing fonts.
Can someone please help me resolve this issue, or, possibly, email me these missing fonts?

Those fonts should be on the system install disk that came with your computer. Download and run Pacifist to locate the font installation package on the system install disk and extract and run the font install package.

Help with missing font matter

The problem started after adopting Windows 7 OS. I have many manuals written in previous version of InDesing which some Type 1 fonts were used.
In my Windows 7, there is no type 1 fonts (furthermore, Type 1 fonts are not compatible with Win 7). So all fonts wirtten in Type 1 were replaced with TTF.   But when I open those indd files, I am getting a missing font error (see the attachment). In all of my indd files, there is no more fonts written in Times T1 fotns. I could not get rid of this error dialog box. Could someone advise me how to fix this problem? This drives me nuts. hummer

The issue could be Basic Pargaph.   This is sometnhing I should look into.

Hi I have just changed over from an old computer to a new tower-I copied over from old tower to new tower,using an external hard drive--When I set up to print from a photo in lightroom I get a message saying can`t find file
I can`t find a way around this problem--Can somene Kindly Help Please.?

What OS are you on?
First step: go to library, and make sure LR knows the location of your files. In grid form, a question mark will appear in the border. If you have masses of red folders, go to the highest level, and ask LR to locate it. (sorry forget the command just now, and I have to split now. Er, Jam. Uh, I have to leave the computer for a while..

HELP please, missing the Thumbdatabase.db3 file; actions disappear from Effects Panel

I hope someone can help me, I'm totally frustrated and confused. Whenever I install a new action, previously installed actions disappear from the Effects Panel! Does anyone know what's happening and how to fix it? Also, I have no ThumbDatabase.db3 file in the folder: Photoshop Elements 7.0/Locale/en_US Shouldn't it be there? Can anyone help me with both these issues? Thanks so much.

TexasErin, you have solved the whole problem!!!! You have me jumping for joy! I've been dealing with this for three days and ready to give up entirely, completely discouraged that no one seemed to know the cause or how to fix this "case of the disappearing actions"! (BTW, I found the missing ThumbDatabase.db3 file in the Photshop Elements\ 7.0 folder. But I had to click the 7 and completely open the folder to see it. It was not visible in the "tree" on the left side of the panel where all the drives/folers are displayed.)
Your answer completely nailed the issues and fixed them! Most helpful was your suggestion to paste actions directly into the Photo Effects folder, and NOT put actions into their own folders in Photo Effects. I made that mistake and had about 3 folders containing actions in Photo Effects. I got rid of them, pasted all the ATN, PNG and XMLs directly into Photo Effects. I deleted the MediaDatabase.db3, started PSE, and waited a minimum of 30 minutes for it rebuild.
That was another piece of very helpful advice you gave -- to wait unitl the rebuilding message disappears, cursor returns to normal, etc. Your entire answer was so clear and precise and right on target, I'm going to print it and hang it on my wall. Are you one of the Adobe Experts? You definitely sound like one, or should be considered one if not! I'm SO grateful, thanks a million!!!

Help please - Missing IPOD

We are missing an IPOD Mini and we think it may have been picked up by someone else (I won't say that it was stolen). Is there any way to check to see if the device was re-registered by someone else on a different computer?
It was a special gift and I'd sure like to recover it.

Did you register it? if you did then Apple will know if someone else has registered it. However you are treading on legal ground and you may not find the most open of doors. File a police reort etc, as they would have a legal mandate to ask Apple whether someone else has registered 'your' iPod. If someone did steal it, theyll probably NOT register it, and if they do, they may make a case you sold it to them etc. This sooks but I hope you get it back!

Help Please - Missing Masks - where did they go?

I have been using masks for years saving the selections then the psd files for years. Upon reopening I could always load the mask and manipulate as needed.
This weekend I opened some psd files I had spent hours on creating intricate masks - same procedure for years - however when I go to load the masks they are not there.
I am on a PC - Windows7 and CC.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

If you using CC or CC 2014 have the updates been applied?
Are the Layer Mask showing in the layers palette on the layer you added them to?
Do you see and saved alpha channels in the channels palette. ?
If there are none of the above. Do not save over the file exit Photoshop and run a chkdsk on the drive to see if there are any errors the can be corrected.
I have never lost any mask I have created.

Indesign missing fonts, please help!

I just switched from windows 8 to a mac mini. I had indesign CC trial on the PC and now that I switched to a mac fonts are missing n my document. Both versions of indesign were up to date. How do I get my fonts back please help. The font I really need is called "Onyx"
I dont know why the fonts were working on the PC using the same indesign trial but on the Mac i download the indesign trial the font is missing. Please help!!!!!!

Onyx is not a font provided by Adobe with InDesign or any of the Creative Suite or Creative Cloud offerings. It is installed on your Windows system when you install Microsoft Office.
Likewise, if you have licensed and Installed Microsoft Office on your Macintosh, Onyx is installed on your system.
If you have not licensed and installed Microsoft Office on your Macintosh, you can license the font at http://www.fonts.com/family/248141/onyx.

Exporting as a PDF with missing fonts - help please?

I am using Windows In Design CS4 and an agency provided us with a template via Mac OSX.
Some of the fonts they used appear to be missing on Windows (mainly the ITC bookman family), I open the file anyway. When I export it to a PDF the PDF appears for the most part to be the same, despite the missing fonts.
My questions are:
Is the copy now just a closest match chosen by In Design (I think it may be using Bookman Old Style? If not, what is stopping me using font inserted by an external agency?
Does anyone know the cheapest place to buy the ITC bookman family?
I appreciate your help; I’m a beginner who has to teach himself!!

Bookman Oldstyle should be a very close match (if that is, indeed, what's getting substituted). I wouldn't bother buying ITC Bookman, unless you have to roundtrip your files with the agency. Substituting fonts and checking line endings would get old fast.
So you can be sure of what's getting substituted, go to Type > Find Font, find all usages of ITC Bookman and replace them with Bookman Oldstyle. It seems like you have a PDF from the agency, so you can compare a few substitutions and see if anything changed. You should expect line endings in running copy (long paragraphs) to change slightly.
If you really feel the need to buy ITC Bookman, I would just buy it from ITC (http://www.itcfonts.com/fonts/detail.aspx?PID=201890). Their price is not going to be much different than anyone else's. Check with the agency to make sure they have Type 1 ITC Bookman, not Opentype ITC Bookman, and then buy the same format they have. It's even possible they have a Truetype version. You would want to match it exactly, so you would have to buy the same font that they have, but in PC format instead of Mac format.

Missing Font Help... Please!

Hoping someone can help me out.
I'm liasing with a designer who has supplied me an indesign file to fix up some copy.
When I open the file I'm told that I'm missing a bunch of fonts. For example:
Frutiger 66 Bold Italic
Now I've installed the missing fonts using .otf files.
So when I go to find font I can only navigate to Frutiger LT Std 66 Bold Italic.
It replaces all the fonts and it looks the same to me??? Are they the sam? I used the exact ones but my version has LT std....
Let's say they are the same, i just have a different version. Now the concern I have is when I give the file back the designer is now going to get the missing fonts message when they first open it up.
Will it just be a case of them doing what I just did, but to their version of the font?
Is there something I could do? Will this work okay?

Adobe still offers the old Type 1 versions of Frutiger at http://store1.adobe.com/cfusion/store/html/index.cfm?store=OLS-US&event=displayFontPackage &code=73 and Linotype offers Oepntype, Windows Truetype (which can also be used on OS X) and Windows and Mac Type 1 versions.
You should check withthe agency to find out exactly which version and type they are using, and match the same version if you can (but thay may have a really old release, so it might not be possible, but matching the type of font would probably be a good idea).
But to answer the first part of the question, yes, OpenType is newer technology (though under the hood the fonts are still either T1 or TT outlines, with fonts carying .otf extensions usually being T1) and just fine for print. OpenType fonts have larger glyph sets than the older versions so they often contain special characters, small caps, alternates, etc, that are not contained in the older fonts unless you buy "expert" or other "special" sets which is a nice bonus. Fonts with Pro in the name are more likely to have a lot of extras, though, than those that are called Std.
Personally I no longer buy anything except OpenType fonts when there is a choice.

Hi there. I also bought an iWires mini Display port to HDMI cable and have an LG LED/LCD TV. I plugged it in to my MB Pro and followed the very small writing that came in the package and got both audio and video going. You need to change the audio settings from within System Preferences on your Mac to select your TV as the audio output.
My concern is the data latency - do you experience a delay between moving your mouse on the MBPro and the TV displaying the movement? It is only a fraction of a second, but certainly enough to be annoying, especially in a cable as expensive as the iWire.

It would be nice if you told others the steps you've tried and/or how you used to have your setup.
Anyway have you tried tapping MORE this will then bring you to
the selection-list of Audiobooks, Genres, Compilations & Composers.
Selecting Genres gives you a list of all your music split into genres which was set within the Music downloaded via iTunes or uploaded from CD or which you may have set yourself.
Then you just select the Genre you want:
If certent songs are not correctly gategorised you may need to go into iTunes and reselect via Get-info
>Info>Genre and change it there. That way you should end up with all songs of Jazz or other in 1 place.

Is it not possible to create a text box, fill it with dynamic (data driven) text, but make the font size either scale up or down automatically, so that the entire text box is filled? This is a feature in PrintShop Mail Pro called COPY FIT. but no such feature in Indesign??

lol... it seems to work, but I have another huge problem!
Apparently .CSV files cannot contain page breaks in the data! The data I am trying to merge is a 'letter', with paragraphs, line breaks, etc.,
But, after data merging, it ignores page breaks and only merges the first paragraph of each letter. (sigh)
Solution? Hopefully, an EASY solution. lol as we have thousands of records.
Is there a third party indesign plugin that will allow .xml, or .xls data merge import??

My latest import photos are missing from my iphoto library but still on my ipad, how do I get them back into iphotos. I very frustrated because i just imported them from my camera and have not been able to go thru and edit the ones I want. Help please

I recently imported pictures from my camera to iphoto. I also synced my ipad. In less than 24 hours my photos are now missing from iphoto even after trying to sync my ipad again. These pictures are from a very special occasion and I did not even get time to edit. Someone help please

My issue, which I resolved and may help you was the following:
I have an IPAD 3. I took over 5 GB of pictures on a third party camera. The car was full so I imported those pictures to my IPAD 3 and deleted them from the SD card. While on IOS 5.x, the photos on the IPAD were there under last imported.
Over the last few days, I upgraded to IOS 6. No issues.
Then, my family wanted to see the pictures from the trip. I went to the IPAD and could not find the photos. It listed 40 photos only. The last imported was there, but listed as empty. When I went into the settings>usage, it listed 5GB + of photos in the photos area. I was confused. I plugged my IPAD into ITUNES, first thinking I would get a backup asap (icloud was full after importing the photos). Then I though I would downgrade to IOS 5.
Also, itunes listed that I had 40 photos only, but 5GB of OTHER data. I was convinced the data was not lost. When I tried to browse the IPAD 3 using windows browser, the photos where NOT in the DCIM folder, so I was not able to simply "FIND" the photos and copy them to my PC.
-SOLUTION-
I downloaded third party software onto my PC called "http://www.i-funbox.com/" I fun box. I had no idea if this would work, but other forums with other issues called out similar products for iphone issues.
When I installed the program, which was free, and so far free of malware, I started to explore my IPAD file system.I found my photos, under IPAD>RAW file system>DCIM>100IMPRT.
-ROOT CAUSE-
I suspect when I upgraded to IOS 6, apple fails to register the IMPORT folder of photos as such, photos. So the file system in IOS looses sight of what is inside the last imported folder. Essentially removing them from applications such as "Photos". Why windows does not seem them, is beyond me. But the program I found did see them in raw format, and I was able to COPY them to my PC. Then I deleted them from the IPAD, because I had no other way of managing this folder in IPAD, and it was using a lot of space.

'Description' text missing for all my iTunes pages - any help please ?

I have Just noticed ( 11.10.2012 ) all the description text on all of my iTunes Pages is missing ! - no 'i' symbol, just to lines - - .
Any ideas or help please, nothing changed my end !

On a similar note, any TV Shows that I have purchased from the iTunes store since 10.7.0.21 have no descriptions associated or embedded within the file downloads. I have to add them manually to my iTunes library, which is a bit annoying.
Any ideas?
