Help PLEASE-mom dropped laptop!
My mother dropped her laptop and damaged the screen, and it has a small crack in it. My brother-in-law who "does computers", told her it may be possible to buy a new screen and replace it. He also said it would be possible to hook up an external monitor thru a USB port. Is either or both possible?
Your homeowners insurance covers accidental damage. Call them and place a claim.

Help Please? Dropped frames during capture!
Hello everyone, I am capturing from a mini DV camera to FC Express HD using a fire wire. I've been doing this for a year and all the sudden I'm getting a "dropped frame during capture" message.
I have read many many discussion boards and tried all of your suggestions...
Using different camera's, different tapes, different firewire cables. I've uninstalled and reinstalled FC EX HD and Quicktime. I tried turning off my external drives and using the internal drive to capture to and created a FC project within the internal drive. I have plenty of space on all drives.
Does anyone have any other ideas? Nothing seems to be working. I appriecate your help!!!!!

I'm really worried now. I turned off the "warn dropped frames" option. After capture, when I playback, I get a warning that there are dropped frames, and then picture freezes. Help! I don't know what to do!

Need help please with drop down menu
AS2 I created a drop down menu for my portfolio. my setup is my site mc, within that mc it my portfolio and the drop down menu with five buttons. I want to link on of those button not to the root, but in the same area as the drop down menu/ this is how it is set up.
sceen1 and inside sceen1 is navebar with the drop down menu. Inside the menu are my buttons. I dont need it to link at the root(sceen1) I need to link one of the buttons to a frame in the navbar area. Sorry and I hope you can understand what I wrote.What code have you tried? Where do you have the code planted? If you plant all of the code in one place, such as the main timeline then it might be easier for you to manage targeting whichever objects you intend to.

Remote App on iPad connects but drops after about 20 mins. Need to turn off wait about 1 minute, then turn on wifi on iMac before it can reconnect. Need some help please.

I got my artwork and saved it to my Desktop
Opened up Microsoft Paint and clicked on "File" and "Open" and found it to get it on the screen to resize it
Clicked "resize" and a box for changing it opened up
Checked the box "Pixels" and "Unchecked maintain aspect ratio"
Set Horizontal for 640 and Vertical for 480
Clicked on "OK" and went back to "File" and did a "Save As" and chose JPEG Picture
It came up "File Already Existed" and clicked "OK" (really did not care about the original artwork I found because wrong size)
Went to iTunes and on the movie right clicked on "Get Info", clicked on "Details", then "Artwork"
Go to the little box on the top left that shows your old artwork and click on it to get the little blue border to appear around it and hit "Delete" to make it gone
Click on "Add Artwork" and find it where you put the one from above on your Desktop and hit "Open" and OK and your new artwork is now there and all good.
Sounds like a lot of steps to follow but after around 5 or so you will fly through it. This worked perfect on my iPhone 6 Plus and I have artwork on my Home Videos now. -
My iTunes won't open on my laptop. Error message says The file "iTunes Library.itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes. Help Please!

I just purchased Time Capsule today. I ONLY want to use it as an external drive. I do not need it for Time Machine. I need to free up room on my computer. As of now, I can't even load updates. I can see the TC in my finder, but when I click on a file or video to drag and drop, I get message that TC can't be modified. Help please!
I agree with Kappy.. passing files and especially via wireless is slow as slow.
Just need to be sure your TC is the new AC model??
And the OS on the computer is Lion?
Have you completed the setup of the TC via the utility? You do still need to get internet via the TC so it has to be plugged into the main router..
Give us the full picture of the network.
Then we can help you get into it.. whether you should put your files on it is another question. -

Try:
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I had all photos on a Windows desktop. Got a mac laptop, installed LR5, and put all images from Windows onto an external hard drive. When I go to import them into LR on the mac, they are all locked. Help, please!

Yes, that's exactly what happened. If you buy another drive, you could copy from your existing drive to the new and your files will be read/write. The new drive will have to be formatted as an HFS drive (that's the Mac's format). If you need to format it, you use Disk Utility which is in the Utilities folder on your Mac. Be careful with that -- it wipes out whatever is currently on the drive. Make sure you format the right drive.
I keep all my images on an external drive, too. In fact, I have two matching drives and sync them so I always have a backup. -
I have downloaded the adobe student suite and whenever I open any of the adobe applications my laptop is incredibly slow, I cannot use any other application at the same time and often have to force quit. I have taken all my files off my laptop and added to my external hardrive. Can anyone help please?
What about other non-Adobe programs on the machine - do they also run slowly?

Photoshop Elements 7: Newbie Needs Drop Shadow Help, Please
Hello.
I'm brand new to Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 and need help with the Drop Shadow feature, please.
I've read the documentation, but it's not crystal clear to me, so maybe someone can guide me through it.
I want to create text on a blank white canvas, and add a little bit of drop shadow to it. That's all I want to do--plain and simple.
I can create the text, but I can't for the life of me find any drop shadow options.
The documentation I'm using is the on-line, web-based help. I type in Drop Shadow in Search, and select Add Text to a Slide.
The third step says, "In the Properties palette, set any of the following options" and then offers some options, including Drop Shadow and Drop Shadow Color.
I'll be darned if I can locate the Properties palette. Obviously, I'm not well-versed with Photoshop, so if anyone can just steer me towards this feature, I'll take things from there.
I know this is probably rock-bottom basic, but I'm stumped. Thank you!

The problem I'm having is this: After creating the drop shadow effect, when I try to save the image as a transparent GIF, it quite simply.... looks horrible.
Here is what I'm doing in detail:
1. New/Blank File.
2. Blank File is set to transparent. (Is this the right way to make a transparent GIF?)
3. Creating text.
4. Cropping text.
5. Selecting drop shadow effect.
Now, here's where I get confused. Do I just select File/Save As, or File/Save For Web?
When I just use File/Save As, and select the GIF format, the drop shadow effect in the final file looks horrible when I embed the image into a web page. The text looks good, and the file is transparent, but the effect is ugly.
When I try to use Save for Web, there is a Before/After screen. The Before side looks decent; the After screen looks horrible, too.
So, now I don't know what to do. Can you or anyone guide me through this a bit further, please? Thank you! Jd -

Apps for OSX aren't in iTunes: they are in the App Store in your Applications folder. The payment method is the one registered in iTunes. There's no app actually called Yoga Studio, though there are several Yoga apps. There is an iOS app called Yoga Studio but it appears to have no OSX equivalent, though I haven't done a detailed search.

Cannot get itunes 10.5.2x64 to install at all, 10.5.1x64 worked ok on my Vaio win7 laptop.The update totally screwed everything,
all I get is "the installer encountered errors before itunes could be configured.errors occured during installation.your system has not been modified."
Any help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Praise God - I found the solution after hours of work: (1) Uninstall all Apple programs (itunes, Quicktime, Bonjour, .....); (2) Go to "Common Files" and delete all Apple files - this might be difficult for some are locked from you - you may have to change the "Owner" of the file in order to delete it - if that doesn't work "Rename the Apple Follder to something like Apple Old - that's like deleting it. Then download 10.5 from Apple and away you go - yippee.
