Help please re: a dumb move

Hello, I managed to have the system track my iphone as an intruder and then kicked it off the network. (in my defense it previously showed it as an iphone and for some reason it was showing as an unkown guest) Anyway, now my iphone cannot use the wireless service as it says "Unable to join network" Any tips on how to undue this dumb move? I'd very much aprecciate any help you could provide! ~Terri

Well, I tried alot of things. but the one that I believe did it in the end was simply requesting the network on my iphone using the network name and password. Simple solution that took me hours to figure out. I am not sure whether that would have worked however without completely uninstalling and reinstalling the cisco software and resetting the router. I'd try the iphone thing first, it took only a minute. Good luck, I hope it works for you!

Help please, burning the i-movie project onto DVD

Hi - I'm brand new to all of this. I have finished creating my i-movie with divided chapters for i-dvd. Then I went to file/share/and sent the i-movie to i-dvd.
Now what?? I've been looking over the support topics, but I dont want to do anything except burn my i-movie onto a dvd and keep the chapter markers that i saved. I don't know where to begin!!
I guess I'm just having trouble getting started and making sense of it all. Can anyone help give me a jump-start please?

Hey there,
First, make sure you have your iPod set up to sync videos. To do this, plug your iPod in and head over to the "Videos" tab and make sure they are set to "Sync" and hit "Apply" when you have selected your method for syncing videos. More on syncing videos can be found in the Apple document below.

Also, make sure the video is in the standard iPod format. Even though it was bought from the iTunes store, it may not be in the correct iPod format. To change this, right->click (or control->click on a mac) on the movie in your iTunes library and choose "Create iPod or iPhone version." The conversion may take anywhere from a few minutes to quite some time depending on the length of the movie.
Once it is done, try resyncing it to your iPod. Hope this helps.

I have had no need to download any of my movies to my Mac. Which has been great. However, I remember that I used to now have to do this... or did I? I am just frustrated because I want to stream all this stuff vice haveing to waiting for it all to download fill up my Mac's HD and then just delete. Someone help please?

Help Please! Dumb Mistake. Made No Recovery Disc

I have a Toshiba Satellite A355D-S6922 and unfortunately did not ccreate a recovery disc. I purchased the laptop in 2008 or 2009 and this morning it would not start. I repeatedly got a message that the problem could not be repaired automatically. I guess I made a dumb move and went straight to restoring/recovery. I got passed the red and black warning screen. I chose Restore to Default Factory Software and after that option I tried the other 2-3 options available, seperate times and I keep getting the same error message: 10-FC12-045D.
Do I have to send it back to have it fixed? Would a local Toshiba repair shop have the discs available? Or can I order a recovery disc for my model? I have access to another Toashiba Satellite L555 - could I create a recovery disc from that other computer and use it on mines? could there be a bigger problem with my computer?
please help. I need this resolved as soon as possible. Unemployed and have to do job searches all day.

I'm going through the same problems with different error message. My was working almost fine UNTIL I ran Toshiba Recovery discs and lost the whole system. Search the related forum posts for other options I have a A355 series as well. Try some local computer repair guys first if you are past warrenty and see if any of them have recovery discs.. Cheaper and faster. Judging from the posts Toshiba is about useless for support. Have you tried pressing and keeping down the Zero key while powering up yet. That worked for me a while back. It's more likely a failed Erase Free Space, which creates a huge temporary file; that's why it looks like you have no more available drive space. You can recover from this. See these links

My hard drive crashed and is no longer usable. I just installed a new drive however, I am not finding any way to export my recorded CD's from the Ipod touch to the new hard drive. Can anyone help please? I thought by enabling syc with Ipod woudl do it but to no avail.

I used a 3rd party program called copytrans http://www.copytrans.net/ that is not free to move my library from my ipod to my itunes library when I had to start from scratch. After that happened I started backing up my music that purchased from the itunes store to a dvd so I would always have it if things went south. Now I always backup my purchased digital music to an optical disc just in case plus everythng else I have is on retail cd's so I can just rebuild my library from scratch again if I have to. You should also regularly back up your itunes media folder to another disc so your entire library will be backed up just in case you should lose your program drive.

Although vlc mentioned above is a much more powerful and better player you could try installing Perian if you insist on using the quicktime player. It may supply the codec it needs.
Not sure why you wouldn't be able to play straight avi files though in quicktime.

not referring to Titles. I want fames with text in them, sentences and short paragraphs. I was on this forum until 2:30 am trying to find similar and only 1, referring to typewriter that is in wmm they said on the old HDimovie download which isn't availabe and was 2006 anyway.

Also- how do I add portions of letters to videos, cut them out in paintshop save them a jpeg and upload as pic to insert into movie and make the viewing time longer so people can read it.

it takes 3 apps' to do it, and *****,, they don't all fit, u have to plan ahead, and u can't edit them in the timeline like u can with windows movie maker, and found out they had this imovie HD6, and took out although had to paste in text still meaning using another app for some of them.
I can't believe apple took it out to force you to buy FCE.
downdloaded HD6, but it not importing movies already imported to iphoto 09 that then imported to imovie 09, the cutting, editing clips is easier in '09, and I can;t find video turials on 06, except to pay for, only pdf hard for me to read take in alot of type, brain shuts off, neuro problems and brain damage.
just abbout had it with mac and which had sent it back in time, they said give me $500 to keep it, then didn't give that much, i think big mistake for me.
i sitll tryin to hold on abit here, i just posted in iphoto as well, fed up with it, it got it for imovie'09 doesnt even ahve the features i need, they took them out, everything drag drop import here there and everywhere.

I have discovered! I needed software to Unzip and was directed to Stuffit from the App Store. Suddenly it is simple.
Download Zip File to Desktop.
rt> Zip >Open with..... >Stuffit Progress Bar: 'Expanding' follows. Then a blue folder (manilla) returns to Desktop.
Open iTunes >File >Import to Library From drop down select the now expanded contents of Zip file, then >OPEN
iTunes takes over and imports - Job's Done!!
