Help Please! Restore issue

Hello,
I plugged my iphone 4 into my laptop yesterday and left it to do its thing. I came back, and the phone showed the itunes and cable symbol. I disconnected and reconnected many times, but each time the screen kept saying that the phone was in recovery and needed to be restored. After a fruitless call to Apple, I was forced to recover as I needed the phone. Unfortunately I seem to have lost everything, pictures, contacts, the lot. Can anyone suggest a course of action to get these back? The data must be in there somewhere. Not at all happy...

How often do you sync your iPhone with iTunes? iTunes maintains a backup for your iPhone which is updated by iTunes as the first step during the iTunes sync process.
This link provides the data on your iPhone that is included with the backup.

All iTunes content on your iPhone - all music, movies, tv shows, and 3rd party apps should be in your iTunes library on your computer so no iTunes content should be lost.
Although photos and videos in the Camera Roll are included with your iPhone's backup, photos and videos in the Camera Roll can and should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera. The Camera Roll is for temporary storage before the photos and/or videos are imported by your computer.
Contacts are also included with your iPhone's backup but contacts are designed to be sync with a supported address book application on your computer. Not a good idea to depend on your iPhone and your iPhone's backup or on any cell phone alone for this data, which can be lost or stolen. Your iPhone's backup includes a significant amount of data.
At the iTunes menu bar, go to iTunes > Preferences. Under the Devices tab what is shown as the date and time for your iPhone's last backup? Since you restored your iPhone with iTunes, there should be two backups now.

Help please mic issues creative labs sound blaster

hi all i need help i have a creative 5. sound card with digital out only speakers. and when i try and use my mic on a system like msn it will not let me its like i have no audio from it at all. but if i un mute my mic it works fine but i can here my voice any help would be apreciated. I would love to be able to not here my voice in my speakers so as you can see my mic functions but i can here my voice. and if i mute it and try and use on msn i get nothing from it at all. is this because im digital out only but if i switch to analog i cant get sound as my speakers are pure digital. somone help please.Message Edited by cruser92 on 2-0-2005 04:00 AM

well i solved it with a simpl mic head set combo and switching from dig to analog all works great. and im now happy peace all case closed on my end.

Help, please - Firmware issues

I posted on Christmas on this forum about an iPod shuffle I had received for Christmas that was having Firmware issues. I connected it to the computer via the dock, downloaded iTunes, installed all necessary software, updated the iPod as necessary and sync-ed it. When I went to play it, I got nothing. The blinking lights told me that the firmware was damaged and it needed to be restored to factory settings. I figured out that I had not disconnected it properly from the computer after updating it (light was still blinking), so I connected it again and restored it to factory settings. Then I sync-ed it again. I did this a few times, always getting the same response from my iPod: firmware damaged, needs to be restored to factory settings. I thought I had broken it, but my dad (former techie) told me that if it had been restored to factory settings and it still wasn't working, there was something wrong with the product.
TOday we went and exchanged it. Here I am, sitting here at my computer. I updated the iPod as necessary sync-ed it with my music and I am ready to go. When iTunes tells me it's okay and the light on the iPod is no longer blinking, I disconnect it, restart the iPod, plug in my earphones, press play three times like the directions say I have to do to get to the first song, and...
FIRMWARE DAMAGED, NEEDS TO BE RESTORED TO FACTORY SETTINGS...
NO!!!
I restored it.
I sync-ed it.
Nothing.
I restored it again.
I sync-ed it again.
Nothing.
Now, I am here.
Is it me? Am I doing something wrong to it? Is that it?
Somebody please help me.

Figured out the problem... was sync-ing the iPod wrong. Doing it from library rather than the source list.

Help Please -- Routing issue

I have a Linksys WRT54GL Broadband Router.
I have recently signed up for DSL.
I am trying to connect my DSL to the router, but it doesn't seem to work.
My DSL modem assigns 192.168.1.65 ip to my Routers internet interface, with a Subnet mask of /24 and default gateway of 192.168.1.254.
I have setup my Router to be a DHCP server to 3 computers with IP address range of 192.168.10.X (assigned dynamically). The Router's IP address is 192.168.10.1 (that is through which i can configure the router settings).
So my coputer gets ip 192.168.10.100, Subnet mask /24 and default gateway 192.168.10.1.
Now when i am in the routers web interface, i can ping all the websites, using its ping or trace route utility.
But when i try to access a website from my PC, i can't.
When i ping my routers interface ie 192.168.1.65 (that is the ethernet port connected to the DSL modem) from my PC i can but when i try to ping the DSL modems gateway 192.168.1.254 or any other website i cant.
So in a way i can only go as far as the ethernet / internet interface on my router and not beyond that.
Can anyone help me please.

Just did.. and no luck... I disabled Antivirus, and Windows firewall on my PC.. it didn't work.
I tried connecting to the net from the second PC... no luck. Did ipconfig /renew to get a new lease on the second machine.. got a new lease but couldnt connect to the net.
Same issue .... cannot get beyond Routers internet interface.
The routing table on the router looks like this....

Help Please! -- issue with Mad Catz controller

Can anyone help me out here? I have a Mad Catz Wireless PC Con and I'm having trouble getting it to work. After plugging it into a USB port, when I go to the System Profiler and go to the USB section, the PC Con is listed as hooked up to the USB port like it should be, so I know the computer is reading it properly, but I can't get it to work. When I open the apps I want to use it with, the buttons don't do anything. The obvious reason for this would be that the PC Con isn't compatible with those applications, but that's not the issue here because I have an application (USB Overdrive) that allows joysticks (or controllers or whatever) to be set up to work with any application, and this always worked for me perfectly when I had Tiger. With Tiger I used to use the PC Con with the emulator applications all the time, but now that I've upgraded to Leopard, nothing happens when I hit the buttons. There were no decent instructions with the PC Con. Is there anything I need to to do install the controller first before I can use it or something like that? Does anyone have any ideas for me? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks alot.

Help please, this issue has gotten me to the point of frustation!!!

so i downloaded PC Companion from the SE website, and it installed in my computer just fine...i'm currently running android 2.1 on my xperia x10 and the phone connects to the computer just fine too. the problem is that when i load up the PC Companion the dashboard doesn't load, so all i get is a blank page (i've included an image if it helps you help me). I've spent quite the ammount of time on this forums reading, and i found that there's a lot of people with other problems related to the pcsuite software, and i've found other people have the same problem that i have with this software. As i said, i've read as much as i could before posting this, and i've tried most of the solutions people have posted but nothing have worked for me, so i've just given up and don't know what else to do. Any help would be much apreciated, thanks in advance.

Thanks to Frukttime10 we identified and find a way to solve the problem.
For those who have the problem please do that:
1) Go in the registry (open a dos command and type "regedit"):
     a) Go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0" and verify the key 1400 has value 0 (if not change to 0).
     b) Go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet   Settings\Zones\" and verify that you don't have any "crappy folder" name, as in the attached example http://rapidshare.com/files/454333853/registry.jpg).You should only see folder 0,1,2,3,4. If any other folder with strange name is present delete the folder.
     c) Go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet   Settings\Zones\0" and verify the key 1400 has value 0 (if not change to 0).

2) Close PC Companion using the option "exit" from systray (right click on PC Companion icon in systray).

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings

Help please! Issues with Superdrive.

I was ahving huge issues with my MBA these past days. Now I was able to boot with the OS X dvd and reinstall the OS. the installation went well, but now I have an eject symbol in the upper right corner of the system bar and it seems my USB port is either fried or locked. I can not use any other USB devices (wanted to hook up to my external HD to backup all my stuff and then zero out my MBA and clean install). its strange. I can restart the MBA pressing C and then the Superdrive runs. Guess this speaks against the USB port being fried.
Would appreciate any help given soon!!

Sorry if this is too basic and you have tried it but here goes:
to eject the superdrive select the icon for it on the desk top (with the s-drive connected) then press and hold down the eject button on the keyboard upper most right on keyboard.
You may even need to have the disc in the drive but I doubt that.
Or go to iTunes or Finder, select the drive and eject from there.

Someone help please, major issues 10.5.2 power

Alright, this all started with 10.5.2, and I've already been to the apple store once. 10.5.1 was running pretty good.. had a few problems but nothing major.. upgraded to 10.5.2, and issues have slowly escalated.
Issues.
1. wouldn't boot with my cinema display plugged in for the first week after I upgraded. even after reseting pram. then all the sudden it began working properly.
2. the green light on my charger cord lights up at about 1/10th it's usual brightness.
3. my battery, that had 14 cycles, and was only 7 months old, went from having 95-96% health before I upgraded to 10.5.2, to 60% health a week later. (so low in fact that apple kindly replaced it with a new one at the apple store, he even agreed that it was incredibly low for the cycle count. but unfortunately I believe the problem lies elsewhere).
4. I noticed there was something wrong with the battery because when I was running off of it, it would run down to about 48% and just flat turn off with no warning, actually causing a loss in a couple files. I haven't tested this with the new battery yet as I'd like to do some research (this) first, and frankly try to figure out what else could be going on.
5. this is another major one, I can't put my computer to sleep because, sometimes it doesn't wake up, and when it wakes up(75% of the time) my external HD fails to work.. what I mean here is that it continually kicks over trying to spin up... and then it says I removed the drive without ejecting it when I didn't.. I know you're thinking this could be unrelated, and hard drives die all the time.. but I assure you this HD is in perfect working order, even according to techtool pro 4. it's only 6 months old, and when I turn it off, unplug it's power and re attach it again, it starts up fine and works again, it's the sleep that's messing it up.
So, that's my main concern, I have 700+ gigs of really important info on my external and I'm afraid it could just get fried somehow.. I can't afford a new external.. has anyone ever heard of these things before? as for specifics, this is a santa rosa macbook pro 2.4 ghz, 2 gigs of ram, a 30 inch cinema display, and a dual bay external hd.

Did you show this to the people at the Apple Store? This sounds like a hardware problem and appears unrelated to any external hard drive.

This sounds like it could be caused by #2.
Take it back in to the store and try it with a different power brick. I think that might be the problem.

HELP please - NWDS issue: Customized application based on 'vanilla' SAP DCs

I am about to deliver a SAP Web-Channel solution and therefore I have to make some developments on the 'vanilla' application as nothing is perfect as it comes out of the box. We have setup all tracks to download & build the SAP standard application (Java, WAR und EAR part), but I do not want to modify the DCs directly instead I like to create my own DC to add my developments on top.
What I did within the NWDS
1. I have downloaded the WAR, EAR, and java SC from the NWDI
2. I have created my own DC such as "CUST/ISA/WAR"
3. I have assinged the original war "crm/isa/web/b2b" as Used DC
I performed the build, but when I take a look in the generated WAR file, the source code / JSP files are merged with my own - instead I can find the used DC as JAR file within the lib folder.
I also followed the instructs as described in the published PDF: How_To_Create_Custom_App_ECO5200.pdf
I almost tried everything, but I can't see any obvious difference to the setup as SAP did. The original WAR project from SAP also depends on other DCs, which includes their JSP files, but I can't find the difference to the steps I did ..... PANIK!
Does anyone know what could have went wrong?

Problem solved. I just figured out that I need a postbuild.vm within the "cfg" folder. To figure that out, it almost drove me crazy. There is no documentation available and it is getting more trick if you have to retrieve code from a WAR project and not a Java Project as the component is not listed within the dependencies, which are required for the compilation.

HELP Please - playback issues

An Edge animation taken through Muse for framing, then through DW to add a line for audio play.... it is not displaying consistantly. On older explorer browser the background and frame show, the stage is white and the music plays. On an iphone the animation plays but there is no sound.
I'm not sure I got the audio line in the right place or if there is something else I messed up.

I don't know all the ins-and-outs of YouTube's mobile technology, but you do have to click to initiate YouTube video. Whenever there's a YouTube video embedded on a page, you have to click the video for it to play. (note that it's video versus audio, but I believe the same user-initiated rule applies).

Help please, sound issue P965 Platinum

I have this mobo MSI 965 Platinum. It works well excepting one (annoyng) thing: when I record something (via tv tuner or via fraps) the recording has no sound!
I tried to capture a movie while playing Oblivion. In Fraps I checked the "record sound" box, I assigned a hotkey and proceeded. Everything's fine while recording. Then, I open the movie and it's perfect, excepting it's mute!!!
Then I tried to record a tv program with my Leadtek USB 2 deluxe tuner. The image of my recording is excellent, while there is no sound!
Is there a method to find out what's wrong?

I'm having the SAME problem! if you press your space bar to pause during iMovie full screen playback, and then press space again, the sound should come back, but it still will not work correctly when exporting the video to iTunes and such. Keep you eyes peeled for any answers I receive for my question, I think we are having the same problem here!

I'm having restore issues, help please!!!

this has probably already been answered, but got new 8gb iphone today plugged it in etc it crashed tried to reboot and reconnect to itunes, told to restore tried failed error code 13 checked forum changed usb bingo it starts to restore, now though the progress bar on the phone is full but on itunes it's saying it's still waiting for iphone been like this for almost an hour can anyone help, i've not even made a phone call from it yet!

sorry... can't help, not having these "restore" issues (yet...) and I've done 4- Restore to Backup the past week and two "restore to new Phone" and no issues... other than the fact that with a "Restore to New Phone" my 3rd party data app's are not "recoverable" as with the "restore to backup"

If it's backed up, it won't be gone.
Be sure you've transferred all iTunes media purchased on your phone into your computer's iTunes library.
Make sure you're synching your contacts with a cloud service or your computer's contact manager app.
Make sure you've imported all pictures taken by the iPhone into your computer.
You should be good to go.
