Help please time capsule help please!!!!

I just bought a 500gb time capsule I'm able to hook it up to my cable modem but it keeps saying no Internet connection on my Mac how can I get it to send out a connection to the rest of my devices??I got the Internet to work on just my computer but no signal in the rest of the house... I Youtubed it but for some reason it doesn't do what there macs do... I'm running on os x lion please help me with a walk tru I'm not tech savvy but trying to get familiar with apple products!!! Thank you

Firstly reset the TC to factory.. hold down the reset for about 10sec until the front led flashes rapidly.
Then turn off everything computer or network in your house... the cable modem in particular needs to be turned off.. this can be hard if it is battery backup model. Tell us more if it is more than pure modem. ie if it is a router you should bridge the TC.
Connect the TC to the modem by ethernet.. nothing else should be connected to the modem.. connect to the TC WAN port.. ie the one next to usb.
Turn on in order after 15min (you can try 5min.. but it might take longer).
Modem.. wait 2min
TC.. wait 2min
Other network devices.. eg switch, if you have them.
Client computers etc.
The TC should get the public ip on the wan interface.
If it fails try again and leave off longer time.

  • Help with time capsule issues please

    Hi all
Any help or advise will be greatly appreciated.
I will give you a little background info as it may be relevant.
At home we had 2 MacBook pro's that backed up to a 2tb time capsule all worked well, wifi and back ups. Unfortunately both MacBooks where in boot/trunck of the car while we where traveling and the boot had a terrible leak that I was unaware of and both MacBooks where water damaged tried drying them out but both where beyond repair. (Devastation is not the word especially as the car insurance would not pay out)
Unable to replace both MacBooks We continued to use the time capsule as a wireless router for both our iPhones then after 6 months or so the Internet would go off and the orange flashing light would come on. I just thought it needed reset and so switched it off and back on. Sure enough green light and all is well this became more and more frequently until the orange light stayed on regardless of what I do with no Internet. I've connected an old router which is working fine.
The good news is that after a year without a MacBook I have a new one arriving tommorow. My main concern is the data on the TC I don't want to loose it but i don't know what to do?
These are my options as I see it but again any suggestion welcome.
1)I unpack the new MacBook pro set it up as normal then connect to the TC and check airport utility and hopefully this will tell me it just needs a firmware update. Install the update for TC reboot and check the green light is on, then to a fresh install for the mac and re-install the MacBook from the TC.
    2) when booting up the new MacBook try and find the TC when it asks for it and hope all goes well and it transfers my old MacBook data onto my new one.
As I say any help or advise would be greatly appreciated, please note my primary concern is not loosing the data on the TC from my old MacBook
Thanks for all the replys in advance

It sounds like your TC has become unreliable.. is it a series 1?
You might need to get it repaired, as it can take several hours to get the backups off the drive.
Check in UK for local repairers.
    https://sites.google.com/site/lapastenague/a-deconstruction-of-routers-and-modem s/apple-time-capsule-repairers
It is just the power supply gone faulty and repair or replacement should get it going again. The data stored on the hard drive should be ok. Restoring the files from the old TM should be ok.
The instructions here are extremely helpful for how to recover particular files. As your new laptop will be Lion and you don't want to recover the old OS.. just the various files you had stored.

  • Time Machine Data Transfer - From FireWire Drive to Time Capsule - HELP!

Time Machine Data Transfer - From FireWire Drive to Time Capsule - HELP!
I've been searching for weeks for a solution to my problem. Here's the story I've come across since I installed Leopard on Oct. 26, 2007.
I first installed Leopard on my Early 2006 MacBook and set up Time Machine with a 200GB external FireWire drive. Since then, things have been fine, until Time Machine started deleting the oldest backups. I'm a pack-rat and hated this feeling of losing data. So, I now have a few months worth of backups on my 200GB FireWire drive.
The Time Capsule is released, I finally talk myself into getting one and transferring my old data from the 200GB drive to my 1TB TC.
I did some researching through forums about how to move data from one Time Machine drive to another, so I took the concept and wanted to apply it to my Time Capsule. I made a DMG image of my 200GB drive, in order to move the data. I figured if I can make an image, copy it, and open it on the Time Capsule - all will go smoothly - just as some had mentioned they've done with external drives.
Now, I have a 164GB DMG image of my Time Machine, with no hope in sight of gaining it back. I've tried taking the image, using Disk Utility, and restoring my original 200GB external with the imaged Time Machine data, but whenever I do, I come across error messages.
In Disk Utility, I've done the following steps:
    * Disk Image is found on Time Capsule
    * I select the 200GB drive and select 'Restore'
    * I drag and drop the Disk Image to the 'Image' field
    * I drag and drop the 200GB drive into the the 'Restore' field
    * Select 'Erase Destination'
    * Select 'Restore'
    * I get the warning message that I'll erase the drive - I proceed
    * I enter my password
    Error message pops up:
"Restore Failure: Could not find any scan information. The source image needs to be imagescanned/scanned for restore."
I select the image in Disk Utility, then proceed with the following steps:
    * Click on "Image" then down to "Scan Image for Restore"
    * I enter my password
After hours of waiting, I get another error message:
    "Unable to scan. (Broken pipe)."
I'm going to see, after transferring the DMG to the Time Capsule, if I can drag-and-drop the files from the Time Capsule drive onto the 200GB hard drive.
IF anyone has any more suggestions, please let me know!

32 updates on this Mac since December 2007 - Hardware, software, OS...
They keep coming at about 6 or 7 a month. Some of them I don't care about, but several are essential. 10.5.3 has been seeded to the testers a couple of times and will probably show up in the next few weeks. Jaguar wasn't worth a d*mn until 10.2.6, Panther about 10.3.4, Tiger about 10.4.4 - I'd say we are ahead or on schedule Too bad I can't get Apple to fix Spaces. I wish they'd focus on what I want but I guess some take more time than others.

I have just changed my ISP and they have informed me that i have to change the IP address on my time capsule. Please can someone tell me how todo this? Thanks

This should really be unnecessary but anyway..
If you mean the internal IP of the TC, the it can be changed by changing the dhcp settings.. which is weird.
It looks a bit different in the v6 utility but is easy to do..
See the DHCP beginning address is split into sections.. change the front section from 10.0 to 192.168
Then update the TC.. then you will need to change everything on the network as the IP will need to change.. I recommend you simply turn everything off and then on again in correct order.. modem.. TC.. clients. 2min gap.

Pls help my time capsule (4th gen) lost it files..I think it have a virus pls help me to fix it tnx..

    1. Ethernet .. are you using ethernet?
    2. Change the name of the TC to short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
    3. In the file sharing page change the workgroup to WORKGROUP.
    4. In the same area, change the guest access to on read and write.
    5. If you setup homegroup on the PC get rid of it.. TC is not compatible with homegroup.
    6. Turn off ipv6 in the network settings for ethernet. (since you are going to be using ethernet).
From Mac version utility it looks like this.
Go to the admin tools and ensure that bonjour for windows is on.
Manually type the IP directly into windows explorer.. do not open via MyComputer.
    \\10.0.1.1

  • Slow shutdown after installing time capsule. Please help

    Hi everyone,
I'm experiencing some troubles when restarting or shutting down my iMac Intel 8gb RAM late 2010. It takes longer than usual ( before I buy my 4th gen. Time capsule it Was very quick) and now, after I installed it I can see the grey spinning wheel and a geey blank screen for several seconds before it goes off.
    Things I already tried
.  reparing permissions from Lion recovery  mode (some of them can not be repaired. I already tried almost everything)
. Onyx all maintenance options passed.
    . Disabled time machine
. Deleted home folder preferences from terminal (revia reset password )
My iMac Is running Lion 10.7.2
I've configured my time capsule in bridge mode, with automatic backup copies
I'm sharing Time capsule disk over wan and Internet.
I've configured iCloud with back To my Mac, documents and the rest of options
Please, I need some help¡. Can you help me?
    Thanks in advance,
    C. Llerandi

Try doing a Safe Mode reboot by holding down the Shift key when you hear the start-up tone. When the progress bar appears you can release the key. A Safe Reboot will clear some of the caches, it's possible one became corrupt. If that doesn't work do both a SMC and PRAM reset, you may need to do each 2-3x.
    SMC RESET
    Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
    Release the power button.
    Attach the computers power cable.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
    PRAM RESET
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

  • Itunes Library on time capsule-Help please.

I read this can be done to free up some room. I made a copy of my music folder in time capsule, pointed to it with itunes, but the file paths in itunes do not change. I made sure my time capsule was mounted, held option, launched itunes, selected the itunes folder in my time capsule, & still had no luck. This was the main reason why i purchased the device. Can someone tell me how this is done?

Please, dear Apple friends, help me! Itunes is driving me crazy....
I thought I had the solution; i created a new library folder on my TC, copied all my music files to the library in the itunes window. After copying one night and one day (which is strange, since all the files essentially already were placed on the TC, but anyway), I got an error warning saying that the copying had stopped because of a fault with file ". What this is, I dont know.
And besides that, half of the songs which were copied have the hated ! - symbol which means they cant be found...
It's so frustrating to have more than 25 gigabyte of music and not being able to play songs. Hopefully someone has a useful tip, because I'm starting to dislike Itunes. And I dont want that!
    Thanks

  • Can't Connect to My Time Capsule Backups, Please Help!!!

I have been using Time Machine/Time Capsule to back my data up for over a year. I bought a new MacBook Pro this morning. I did not want to use Migration Assistant to transfer everything over because there were many bugs and corruptions on my old disk and was scared that would all be transferred to my new machine. It was time for a fresh start.
I set up my new computer and transferred most of the files I needed via a flash drive. I am now trying to set up my MacBook Pro to connect to my Time Capsule backup disk via Time Machine, but once I enter Time Machine it does not allow me to go "back in time" to see all of my previous backups and restore points. There are some really important files I am trying to get to, but this computer isnt connecting to the Time Capsule backups. The old computer has already been completely reformatted, but it is still able to access the Time Capsule backups.
I have done some internet research and learned that Time Machine uses a computer's ethernet MAC address to allow access. There are some codes posted on various websites that allow to alter what Time Machine thinks you MAC address is so that you can access your backups with a new computer/different logic board. None of these Terminal workarounds worked for me. The Genius Bar and Apple Care couldn't help either.
I am hoping somebody can help me out. I understand I can use my old computer to get into Time Machine and retrieve what I need then transfer those to the new machine. But there must be a way to allow a new computer to fully access Time Capsule backups, but curiously, I can't find it. I rather have my new computer have full access because I am selling the old laptop and so I wont be able to use it to access my backups any longer.
Sorry for the long explanation, but I hope that gives someone all the facts required to both understand what I am saying and help me fix the problem.
    -Amir

Right now it is just empty because I have unmounted and disconnected my Time Capsule. I'm trying a low-tech work around to see if this works, but much rather do it the "right way."
What I am doing is this:
    (1) Use Migration Assistant to copy everything from the Time Capsule to the new machine (this is exactly what I was trying to avoid initially). Migration Assistant has been copying files for about 5 hours now (still not sure what is going to happen).
    (2) Create a full backup on Time Capsule with my MacBook Pro now that it has everything from the Time Capsule on it.
    (3) Do a fresh install of Snow Leopard.
    (4) Hopefully, have the fresh start on my machine I wanted, but still have access to at least one archived copy of my old computer and files/folders.
Does this make sense? Basically, the new machine does not allow me to access the old backups. So I am handicapping the machine now by reverting to my old settings via Migration Assistant, will back that up, then start all over from scratch again but hopefully have the peace of mind that my files are not gone because I will at least have that one copy of all my old copies in a Time Capsule backup that the new machine can access.

  • Time capsule problem  please help

Hi People its my first post i hope its in the right section.
    Ok
I have a NETGEAR RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N DSL Gateway DGND3300 Wireless route.
i was told i can extend the range with apple time capsule.
i tried to set up time capsule this morning my steps were
    airport un
found apple time capsule join wireless network all setup
i then went to update the settings and i got message saying update complete waiting for restart
the time capsule was stuck on amber flashing on and off and would not pick up any signal
i have now set it up plugged into router but it don't boost my signal
Does anyone know if i can set it up using wireless mode which will work and boost my signal
at the mo it feels like a waste of money
    please help

also at the moment i have plugged tc into netgear and created a new network.
    is that the best way,
If you configure the Time Capsule as a "bridge" to use exactly the same wireless network name, security and password as the wireless on your main router, you will in effect, extend the wireless network that way. Computers will be able to move from one area to another without having to change networks.
I assume that you have an ethernet cable connecting your main router to the WAN port (circle icon) on the Time Capsule.
Open AirPort Utility and click Manual Setup
Click the Wireless tab below the icons
Wireless Mode = Create a wireless network
Wireless Network Name = Exact same name as your main router network
    Radio Mode = Automatic
    Channel = Automatic
Wireless Security = Exact same setting that your main router is using. You may need to check the configuration pages for your main router to get this information. If the settings do not match exactly, the wireless network will not perform as a single network, it will perform as two separate networks
Wireless Password = Same password as your main router
    Confirm Password
    Click the Internet icon
    Connect Using = Ethernet
Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode)
    Update to save settings.

  • Time Capsule Issues: Please Help

    my set up:
1 extreme base station|2 expresses| 1 time capsule| comcast ISP| time capsule is setup to join the excisting network...i know apple does not recommend this but it is my only option....
issue: it was working fine for about a week...now time capsule keeps loosing connection...light stays green however...unplugging and plugging back in it works for a few minutes...then drops out again....

well the situation has gotten worse after the update. After updating i was hoping some of my issues may have been resolved...they were not in fact they are worse....
so i restarted the TC so that i could see in the utility for those few minutes i have access to it...it updated and restarted..but never really restarted...it just blinks yellow now..
so i pressed the little reset button in the back...went to factory default..and i set it up agian...the same way i had it...and now it says the TC has been updated and it is restarting it never comes back up...
i am extremely frustrated...this is by far my worst apple product experience...wait times for TC support by phone are over 30 mins each time....and two of the three techs i have talked to were practically ********...i know its not the ones for fault for barely speaking english...but come on..you should still know how to trouble shoot for god's s

  • NEED HELP WITH TIME CAPSULE!

Hello, I am new to this forum and this is my first post. Currently I have a Macbook pro and it is really the only computer in my house I use. My Mom has a Macbook, My dad has a Apple Desktop and my brother a toshiba laptop.
I am running OS X 10.5.8 on my macbook pro, Snow Leopard on the other.
Tonight I got the time capsule, and I am really excited to get this working. To give a little background, I have FiOS and our modem is in the basement which runs directly to a verizon wireless router, MI424WR to be exact. I have a few questions about how to set it up because I tried to set it up like they said but when I plugged the Time Capsule into the Fios router and turned it on all I got on the Capsule was the blinking amber light. I ran an ethernet cord from one of the opened LAN ports on the router to the WAN port on the Capsule. I installed the Airport utility on my macbook and my dads desktop but still do not get any type of connection to the capsule. I am reading about bridging so I tried to do the manual set up in the Airport utility it just scanned and got nothing and I cannot even hit manual setup. My questions are..
How exactly do I set up the Time Capsule, as I described it does it sound like I have everything plugged in correctly?
Is it possible to completely get rid of the verizon router?
How do I get any of my computers to pick up the time capsule?
If you have any questions as to how I explained please just ask. I am really trying to get this set up because I do not want my dad to think he wasted 350 dollars on something that is completely useless for our home setup. Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANK YOU, Zach.

No matter what, even when the TC is plugged into my MBP with an ethernet cable it does not read it.
Disconnect any ethernet cables that you connected to the Time Capsule at the moment
Hold in the reset button on the back until the amber light begins to blink more quickly and continue holding the button another 4-5 seconds when this occurs. Then release the reset button.
Connect an ethernet cable from one of the available LAN <-> ports on the Verizon router to the WAN (circle of dots icon) port on the Time Capsule.
You have two ways to configure the Time Capsule using either wireless or ethernet.
To use wireless, click on the fan shaped Airport icon at the top of the computer screen and look for a wireless network with a name like Apple Network xxxxxx. Log on to that network first, then open AirPort Utility.
To use ethernet, temporarily connect an ethernet cable from your Mac to one of the LAN <-> ports on the Time Capsule. Open AirPort Utility.
When you open AirPort Utility, click Continue to follow the guided setup. You did not indicate whether you want to Time Capsule to provide a wireless network, but most users want that option. So, you when asked how you want to configure the Time Capsule, you would choose the "Create a new wireless network" option.
As the Jolly Giant says, you will need to choose Bridge Mode when you see a choice of how to connect in the setup process. If you are an experienced computer user, you may want to configure the Time Capsule manually, but I would not recommend that you do this unless you know exactly what you are doing.
My next step is to call verizon and say they need to get out here and fix this ** or I will be going back to comcast.
Verizon has nothing to do with the Time Capsule problems that you have encountered. Blaming them will accomplish nothing.

  • Help! Time Capsule set up help: Airport Utility not cooperating

    Hi Everyone,
I'm desperate for help with this issue. I have a Time Capsule, Base Station and Airport Express (all previous generation)at different points throughout the house. At first the issue was with the base station that refused to find my network so I called the helpdesk and got it fixed and all was well until the next day when the Time Capsule and Airport Express began to malfunction.
While everything connected to the network fine, our iphones couldn't find the network while downstairs. I tried to fix the issue but then I realized that while the base station wireless mode said 'extend network' the time capsule and airport express wireless mode said 'join network.'
I believed I overdid it on hitting the time capsule's reset button for a soft reset one too many times and now the slow flicker amber light will not steady itself or move to green and the computer is unable to successfully attach itself to our network. I've tried to restore the factory default settings but this only results in an error message 'there was an error trying to detect apple wireless devices, make sure network connection is valid and try again.'
All computers and phones have been updated with current firmwares etc. At this point, I'm stressed because I rely heavily on the internet for school and research and I don't know what else to do. Should I do a hard reset or just contact apple support?
    Thanks,
    Michelle

    Welcome to Apple's discussion groups.
Please identify the "Base Station". Do you mean an AirPort Extreme Base Station? Are all those 802.11n-capable devices?
the base station wireless mode said 'extend network' the time capsule and airport express wireless mode said 'join network.'
That suggests to me that none of those devices is your "primary" router. If that's the case, what is the brand and model of the device that's connected to your Internet feed or Internet modem?
I believed I overdid it on hitting the time capsule's reset button for a soft reset one too many times and now the slow flicker amber light will not steady itself or move to green and the computer is unable to successfully attach itself to our network.
What does AirPort Utility say about the status of the Time Capsule? (If you have trouble connecting to the Time Capsule with AirPort Utility, try plugging an Ethernet cable from a LAN port of the Time Capsule to the Ethernet port of your MacBook Pro.)
I've tried to restore the factory default settings but this only results in an error message 'there was an error trying to detect apple wireless devices, make sure network connection is valid and try again.'
Did you do that reset by holding in the reset button until the status light flashed rapidly several times? Normally after a reset, you have to select the network for that device (usually named in the form "Apple Network xxxxxx") for AirPort Utility to "see" it. That's why an Ethernet cable can be useful.

  • Need help understanding Time Capsule file structure and how to get it back

I have the original Time Capsule on which I backup both my Mac Pro and my wife’s Macbook. When Snow Leopard came out, I successfully used the ‘Restore from Time Machine’ feature on my Mac Pro so I know it has worked. However, my wife’s MacBook harddrive died the other day and I was trying to do the ‘Restore from Time Machine’ and all it would find was a backup from April (when I put her in a new larger drive). Time Machine would not find any backup files newer that April. She stated that she had seen the the Time Machine backup notices regularly and as recent as the day the haddrive died (Nov. 23) so I figured that I should have no problem. Here is what I have found in my trouble shooting and what leads to my questions below.
This is the file structure I found: (note that our ID’s are ‘Denise’ and ‘John’)
*Time Capsule* (the drive as listed in my Finder window sidebar under ‘shared’)
    >Folder called ‘Time Capsule’ (when logged in as either ‘Denise’ or ‘John’)
    >>Denise Sparsebundle
    >>>Backup of Denise’s iBook (mounted image)
    >>>>Folder called ‘Backups.backupdb’
    >>>>>Folder called ‘Denise’s iBook
    >>>>>>Single folder with old April backup (not the right files)
    >>John Sparsebundle
    >>>Backup of John’s Mac Pro (mounted image)
    >>>>Folder called ‘Backups.backupdb’
    >>>>>Folder called ‘John’s Mac Pro’
    >>>>>>Folders containing all my backup files
    >Folder Called ‘Denise’ (if logged as ‘Denise’)
    >>Denise’s Sparsebundle (a disk image)
    >>>Backup of Denise iBook (the mounted image. Name from old machine)
    >>>>Backups.Backupdb
    >>>>>Denise’s iBook (Contains the backup I need)
    >Folder Called ‘John’ (if logged in as ‘John’)
    >> (empty)
For some reason, my wife’s backup files are stored within a folder located at the top level of the Time Capsule drive called ‘Denise’, however, mine are within a folder called ‘Time Capsule’ which is at the same level as the ‘Denise’ folder.
For some reason, when trying to use Time Machine to recover, it bypasses the top level ‘Denise’ folder which contains the correct files and goes into the ‘Time Capsule’ folder and finds the outdated backup files.
I would assume that both my backup files and my wife’s should be at the same level of the Time Capsule.
I was eventually able to use Migration Assistant to recover the files after installing a fresh OS and mounting the correct Sparsebundle image.
So, my question, how do I get this fixed so that if I have to recover a drive with Time Capsule, it will find the correct files.
Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance for any help.

What I was trying to determine is why different backups for one particular machine are located at different file structure levels on my Time Capsule and why the most resent one for that machine is at a different level that for my other machine. Also, what is the correct level that both machines backups should be at.
well John, first can you clarify if you are on 10.4.8 as your profile suggests ? if so, i'm wondering how you can use TM at all because TM was introduced with Leo. if you're not on 10.4.8, please update your profile. if you could, please also indicate details of your machine such as available RAM, processor, etc.
second, what OS is your wife's machine running ?
third, i frankly don't know too much about TM's file structure or if there indeed is such a thing as the correct one. however, i do know that it is best to leave TM to do its thing (as long as it's working). FWIW, though off-topic, you may want to have a look at this read for further information.
last but not least, i see TM backups to my TC only as a part of my backup strategy. the backbone of my strategy is to create bootable clone of my startup disk(s) using e.g. Carbon Copy Cloner on a regular basis. while TM is capable of doing a full system restore, i don't trust it as much as a working clone. i use TM to retrieve a file i accidentally trashed a week ago but you cannot boot from a TM backup if your startup disk goes belly up.
If I have missed this information in either the FAQs or the Troubleshooting article, I would greatly appreciate being pointed to it .
i expect you didn't miss anything and i'm sorry you didn't find any help there. perhaps if Pondini (author of the FAQ and troubleshooting user tips) reads this thread, you will get the necessary advice on the file structure and more besides.
    good luck to you !

  • Time Capsule help setting up PS3 and game adapter

I just bought a time capsule to use as my modem and now my existing game adapter will no longer connect my PS3 to the internet. I have no idea how to fix this. Support forums tell me to type 198.250.1.1 or something like that in the address bar of safari and it never finds my adapter. Can someone please help me? I am totally lost!
    Thanks!

I presume you are running Mountain Lion and 6.2 utility.. we need to know that.
You should not need to setup the TC at all from second device.. it is setup and working on laptop.. that is enough.
On the desktop it should be accessible in the same way as the laptop.. same name same passwords etc.
If not, then fill us in on the whole network layout.
    Modem what kind.. what broadband.
    Is the Modem a router?
Is the TC plugged into the modem.. in bridge or router mode?
I guess the laptop is connected by wireless? Desktop is connected how?
Are you trying to get TM to work.
Mount the disk in finder if you can. Then you should be able to direct TM to use it.

  • Help with Time Capsule/wireless network setup

Just purchased Time Capsule, hooked it up, and followed the instructions to create a new wireless network. The problem is that my MacBook Pro can't find the internet via the new Time Capsule network. It can "see" the Time Capsule, and I can log on with the new password, but there is no internet connectivity. If I unhook the ethernet cable from the Time Capsule and hook it directly into the computer, the computer is able to rapidly access the internet. Plug the ethernet back into the Time Capsule, and even though the Time Capsule light is green, there is no internet connectivity for that computer or other computers. Also, the Time Capsule signal strength is exceedingly low. Help!

Please try the steps again. However, this time, I would like for you to perform a modem reset between powering all the equipment down and starting to power them back up again.
You should find a reset button on the back of your Motorola modem.
So, the steps should now be:
o Power-down all of the equipment, except the modem.
o Perform the modem reset. Note, the reset may take anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes to complete. Check your User's Guide that came with the modem. If you don't have a copy of the guide, you can get it here: SB5101 User Guide
o Once the reset is complete, power-up the TC by following the sequence I provided earlier.
