Can anyone help me? I received an I-Pod Touch for Christmas and am wondering on how to transfer the music on my nano to my touch

Help with transferring music from itunes to itunes

I just got my iPod for Christmas (yay!) and I'm in a dilemma with downloading songs to it from iTunes. Our home computer is being worked on and is basically useless right now. However, my dad has his laptop that already has iTunes on it. My question is, if I would download songs on his computer to put on my iPod, could I later take them off his iTunes (or my iPod) and put it on my iTunes on the home computer? I dont want to lose any of them, but would like to be able to take them off his iTunes and put them on mine to manage in the future.

Perhaps those apps require a newer version of iOS than is compatible with your iPod.

TRANSFERRING MUSIC FROM IPOP TO PC

I had a hard drive crash and I lost all my dowloaded music from I Tunes library. I am trying to determine if there is a way to transfer my music collection from my nano to my new pc (Inspiron 531 deskstop). I shudder at the thought of re-loading 75 CD's individually back onto my pc as I really don't want to try that. Please help! Thanks! Gary

For iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.

For all other non purchased content (your own CDs etc) try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Enable your iPod for disk use.
See: iPod Disk Use.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.

You can't transfer directly from one iPod to another. The music must be in iTunes to transfer to an iPod, and from your post it seems as though it isn't. Very bad idea!! Anyway, to get the music from your nano back to the computer/iTunes, read on.

Not necessarily, but it would help since transferring data to an iPod can put a huge drain on the battery.

My son recieved a 4th generation from his sister that is loaded with music and videos that he wants to keep. We have and I Tunes account with music from his old 2nd generation nano that he would like to transfer to the new ipod. We cant figure out how to put the music from the 4th gen. nano to the itunes library while saving it there then transferring all of it (old and new libraries) to the new ipod.......HELP!!!!!! Transferring music from old computer using ipod

I recently transferred music from my old computer to my new computer using my ipod by following the directions in apple support (article 300173.) I already had music in itunes on my new computer when I added the music from my old computer. Now all the music that I had loaded prior to the transfer comes up with a message "original file could not be found." Have I lost this music for good?

If you dragged the file called 'iTunes' in to the music folder in the finder and it asked 'do you wish to overite' then it has probably overwritten the folder tha t already existed
(with the new music in).
If you haven't emptied you trash it might be in there, but don't click retore the trash just drag the folder onto the desktop.

Transfering Music from Napster to Go to my Zen 3

I have recently been having problems transfering music from Napster to my Zen. I download the music, transfer it to my Zen (Vision : M 30GB), and it shows up in my organizer on my computer and my Zen device on my COMPUTER, as in the folders on the computer when I hook it up to the computer, but then I click on the folders of the recently downloaded artists and none of the actual music I downloaded are in the folders or on my Zen when I go portable. I have tried clearing up the C Disk thing from help and have tried clearing the playlist from the folders, but nothing works. I downloaded about 250 songs before this started happening and now I don't know what to do. Any help is appreciated.

I had problems for the first month of my Napster membership (while I was still in the trial period). I nearly went elsewhere, but stayed with it. As soon as the trial period was over, everything worked perfectly. One suggestion is to use the same software for everything. Whether you use Creative media source, Napster's own software or media explorer or any of the others, stick with that one only. Do not give up and go to itunes. What a waste of money!?If you need to reload firmware or try another software, it's worth it.
I also had some issues getting help. Napster said the problem was with Creative and Creative said the problem was with Napster. Don't give up. Can you get ripped songs in?

Having problems transferring music from my pc

I bought an ipad 3 last week and seem to be having difficulties transferring music from my pc. Do I click import, this seem to work but only transferred 2 1/2 albums & podcasts.

Tried a disk clean up and even upgraded the firmware on my player.
Now in nomad explorer the music files do not even show up while the data library still take ages to load and I still cant transfer anything from it as it tells it cannot read from jukebox device.
Tried deleting some files to see what would happen ? the file says it has been deleted but when I disconnected and looked in library again the file was still there.
I forgot to mention in my first post that I was able to transfer everything off my Zen onto pc but I had to remaster my computer and as such lost all files and since then I cant transfer off the Zen - not sure if that matters but thought I should mention it
Can?t really test at friends? computer because even if I could and it worked I have 25 GB of files that need to be transferred which doesn?t make it feasible to transfer all onto a friend?s computer
Any help is grateful as I need to back up my music files in case my Zen breaks down (I am on my third Zen in 4 months as the first two were defecti've)
