  • Unable to check purchased music

We lost a lot of music when hard drive crashed and had to be replaced. When I go into the Advanced Menu and Check for Purchases I get an error message that says "Unable to check for purchase. An unknown error has occurred (-1)." I have reset my password and that made no difference. iTunes support said to check Firewall (it's okay) and web acceleration (what is this) and to contact our ISP (Comcast). Any other ideas? Please advise about next steps to recover my lost music.

If you had no backups of your purchased music, you
may be out of luck as store policy states the
downloads are a one time deal & it's the user's
responsibility to backup important files. The store
even sends you a reminder to backup after every 10-15
    downloads.
ITunes said they would allow us another download and told us to use "Check Downloads." It just isn't working.

  • I need help! "Unable to check for purchases" for over a month!!!

I have been getting the same error message for over a month! Every time I try to check for purchases from the iTunes Store, I get a message saying: "Unable to check for purchases. The network connection timed out." I have 269 items waiting to be downloaded. I am SUPER frustrated, I contacted iTunes customer service twice now, the first time with no response and the second time the response I received didn't help any, I followed up to their answer, again with no response!! I really would like to download these items (most of which I paid for; some were free downloads...). I think this may have happened to me before when my computer crashed and I need to redownload everything from iTunes. I think there is just too many items to download all at once, but they won't even come up in my iTunes, so that I can download them a smaller number at a time! I also had a hard drive failure on my laptop about a week and a half ago (after this problem had already been occuring), and I'm pretty sure any of the items pending downloading that had already begun downloading and was stopped suddenly (a few; maybe a third of what is awaiting downloading...), those items' temporary files were deleted. Could this be causing a problem as well? I've read maybe trying to check for purchases at a less busy time of the day, really early in the morning, or really late at night...Will this work?? I've tried nearly 100 times repeatedly from 8-close to midnight since this has been occuring. I just want the items I paid for. I have been waiting for far too long. I've tried everything suggested and I don't know what else to do!!

First off, make sure Norton isn't blocking iTS access
    Here are Norton directions
    http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nip.nsf/0/7fb6e478e2a1abf78825708b00558625? OpenDocument&seg=hm&lg=en&ct=us
Secondly, you're the third or 4th person to post here that having hundreds of downloads cuases problems.
Contact iTS again, using the email they already sent. Don't start a new ticket.
Give them the URL of this topic, and ask them to reduce the number of items in your download queue. The magic number mentioned in the other thread was 69 downloads didn't cause a problem. (Apparently, 70 does)

  • Help Please: unable to delete "artist" from "purchased" in iTunes store

In my purchased (in iTunes) category, I am unable to delete the artist from my purchased music category in iTunes store.. When I clicked on the artist it shows me no songs but has a 2 written beside the artist name. Are the songs hidden?

Open your Purchased playlist, and make sure that the View menu is set to "As List" so that you can see everything that is there.
Are you trying to delete the item from your library, or only from that list?  If the latter don't bother, because the list is rule-driven and the item will immediately pop back in.  If the former, highlight the track(s) you don't want, hold Shift, and hit Delete.

  • HT3669 Help please: Unable to connect HP4350 Laser Jet to network

I just purchased the printer today (replaced an exact same printer) but am unable to connect it.  The printer is not appearing in the “Nearby Printers” list so I tried to manually add it with the IP address but keep getting message: “Unable to verify the printer on your network.  Unable to connect to “......” due to an error.  Would you still like to create the printer?”  I tried, & said continue but it does not work, printer que says “Printer not connected”  I feel like I must be just missing a simple step. I went through & reset the printers, did the disk utility, unplugged everything, shut off & restarted & NO LUCK!  Help Please! I have spent all afternoon trying to figure this out & am regretting not submitting my issue on here sooner...
    Thank you!

How do you know what the IP address is?

  • "Unable to Check Out File Error" Message

I'm new to using Adobe products, so forgive me if this is a dumb question! My graphic designer sent me a INDD file to edit the text in and when I try to open it in both InDesign and InCopy, I receive an "Unable to Check Out this File" error message. I just downloaded InDesign CC and InCopy CC (the free trial versions). She said that all settings on her end should allow me to view it. Any help is much appreciated!
    Thank you!

I've just experienced the same error message in CS4. I got rid of it by going to the Links panel, selecting all the links to Incopy, and Unlinking.

  • Unable to play purchased music or film

After purchasing and downloading music and vidio to my iPhone they show up but do not play help

I just updated my iPhone 3Gs to 4.0.1 today. After that, I purchased two TV episodes from the iTunes app on my phone. They downloaded, but are not showing up in the iPod app. I tried to buy them again, and the iTunes app told me they'd already been purchased.
I'm getting on an airplane in a matter of hours, and I am not currently able to sync my phone. 1. Is there anyway to get the episodes to show up on my phone (since they were purchased and downloaded onto the phone) without syncing? (2. Why is this happening? Something I purchase with the phone and download onto the phone should play on the phone!) Help, please?

  • Unable to download purchased music

Purchased 2 songs from iTunes using music card. Account was reduced by purchase amount. But always get 'there was an error downloading your purchased music. An unknown error occurred (-50)'. This even happens when I select Advanced and Check for Purchased Music. I have updated McAffer Firewall Plus to allow iTunes. Any suggestions?

  • Unable to use purchased music in other iLife programs

I am trying to use an iTunes purchased song in an iPhoto slideshow. When I do I get an error message saying that this computer is not authorised to play this music. The computer in fact is authorised and iTunes plays the music fine. I have repeatedly tried re-authorising to no avail. I have encountered the same problem in iDVD. Am I not able to use a purchased song in other iLife programs? Is there any way to solve this problem?

Burn the purchased music out to an AUDIO cd, then reimport in any format you like. The reimported version should work fine with your other iLife projects. This is a common problem when trying to use purchased iTMS tunes in iMovie and iDVD.

  • HELP! Imovie and itunes purchased music!

Hello. I have bought music in itunes previously and played it in imovie but I have just bought more and I did my usual copy onto cd then copy back to itunes but they still come up aac protected whereas before they turned to mpeg. Can anyone please help as I have all this music to put into imovie and I cant get it to work????? HELP!
    Fiona x

When you can insert the CD into your Hi-Fi CD player and play it, you can also use the songs in iMovie.
If I go into advanced I dont have a section for burning
It seems as you are running an old version of iTunes, then. But that shouldn't really matter: If you can buy songs and play them in iTunes, you should be able to burn them to an audio CD.
I dont have a section for burning as this has its own icon.
OK, what are your options under Burning?

  • Unable to copy purchased music to ipod

My wife purchased a bunch of songs, and itunes won't copy them to her mini. It says that the software is too old. I've done a complete restore, from three different computers, I've made sure the software is current (1.4.1), I've tried replacing her library (based on other information in these forums). Nothing works, it just won't copy any m4p files. Any ideas?
    Thanks

    SAME IPOD. SAME PROBLEM!
I'm having this exact same issue. The day before I downloaded the new iTunes upgrade, I was moving newly purchased music to my iPod with no problems. Now I get the same "your iPod software is too old" song and dance. I've downloaded the current iPod software through Software Updater and manually from the Apple site. Software Updater simply doesn't work and provides no clues as to why and manually installing the updater gives me the same problem that Alison is having.
Has anyone else had this problem? Please post even if you don't have a fix.

  • New laptop unable to play purchased music

I have recently upgraded my laptop to a macbook and have transferred all my files etc across.
When I came to sync my ipod it said it was unable to sync my purchased music as this computer is not authorised to play it. How to I change my settings to allow my previously purchased music on my new laptop?

Have you authorised the new MacBook yet and do the songs play in iTunes? If you have got it authorised and it's not transferring songs then try deauthorising it and then authorise it over again: About iTunes Music Store Authorisation and Deauthorisation

  • I am unable to see purchased music

The itune store shows I purchased U2 Age of Innocense, but it doesn't show in my list of purchased music OR in my library.  HELP!

You should be able to download it into your library by ticking the 'show iTunes in the Cloud purchases' tick box on the Store tab in Edit > Preferences - it should then show in the Music part of your library with a cloud icon against it for downloading (downloading the booklet for it this way may not work, you may get a 'corrupt file' message when trying to open it).
Or go to the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage and you should be able to download it from there.
A third option is to sign out of your account (Store > Sign Out menu option), find the album in the store and then click on its free 'price' button - you should then be prompted to sign back in and the album should download.
