HELP please with Nokia PC Suite and MAC

I have just bought the Nokia E71 and incredibly confussed with that instalation process of the PC Suite.
Is there a program that is suitable for MAC?

For Mac users Nokia has two different programs.
You can use isync for syncing your contacts and calender and Nokia Multimedia transfer for transfering music (help of iTunes) and photos(iPhoto). Also from NMT you can sync safari bookmark.
Nokia has different plugin for the device. you need to download the plugin for your E71 to start syncing with addressbook which is available in nokia website http://europe.nokia.com/A4299040
You can download NMT from here http://europe.nokia.com/A4423135 to start working on iTunes and iPhoto and safari bookmarks.

Make sure you have installed all available updates from Apple using Software Update and your phone firmware is updated.

Hello everyone,
I have an ipod but want to upload from two different locations. I found out from a reply from a previous question that I can do that but my problem seems to be that I have a windows based laptop at home but at my other location in my office I am using a Mac. From what I read I can not do this from one location to the other without reformating my ipod everytime which would be useless to me sense I do not have the same music or do all of my purchases from one location. Probably the easiest way to use an iPod on both Mac and Windows computers is to format the iPod (using iPod Updater) using the PC. This will force your iPod to use the Windows file system (FAT32) which both the Mac and PC can read from and write to without the help of additional software. Of course then all your software updates for the iPod will have to be done on Windows.  If you need to use a Mac (HFS+) formatted iPod on a Windows PC, you'll need to install some 3rd party software such as XPlay 2.0 (which you can get from MediaFour Software). This will enable your Windows PC to read a Mac-formatted iPod.

I always have a problem with sending messages, somedays it works, the next day I can send messages to anyone at all while yesterday it was working ok. I went to Orange once and they said I had to go to:
Message Settings then
Text message then
Message Centre then
I have to add in "Orange"
then a mobile number.
They helped to add it once then again that number in message centre is gone and i dont know why its just disappear and i could not send the texts at all.
Can anyone help me to fix this problem permanently please. Its been a headache for me. I should not have bought this Nokia. Always a problem with sending messages

I have installed call notifier program which notifies me for every message and missed call
After two days, I uninstalled it but then I have a serious problem which can be summarized in:
When I recieved missed call there is nothing to be displaced on the screen as for example my mother is calling... My mother calls me she waits 3 rings till they said that she is calling answer or ignore
But if she doesn't wait 10 seconds, then nothing will appear only they say miss call without any sound ? How can I solve this?

Help with Nokia Ovi Suite - Phone Space Problem

Hello. I need some help. I have a smart phone Nokia 5530 XpressMusic. Well, the problem is, when i connect my phone to the Nokia Ovi Suite, and try to get some themes on my phone, i can't, because it says, that i don't have enough space on my phone. And when i check memory on my phone it shows: Left space: 2,5 mb And on memory card it says: Left: 2,5 gb. Why can't i then download anything on my phone anymore? Please help.
P.S.: Themes are not too big, they're only about 1 or 2 mb.

The problem is the lack of free space in your phone memory. Even though the memory card has plenty of free space - some content require still space in the phone's internal memory. And in many cases it requires more space than the actual file (if the file is decompressed in the device, it takes easily twice the size of the original package).
Freeing space in the device's internal memory should help.

I can't register with nokia ovi suite!!

Hi guys,
I am having problems registering my account with Nokia Ovi Suite. It is not allowing me to enter my UK mobile number, specifying international format.
I am using +44 (0)........Is this the correct way to format it? It is not allowing this code. I have also tried using 0044 07.....but it's not allowing that either. What is the correct way to format my number so that I can complete my registration?
I would like to save photos from my phone on to my pc. How do I do this?

Can't update C7-00 with Nokia Ovi Suite

Hello,
When I try to update my C7-00 with Nokia Ovi Suite, I get as far as where it displays the update version and brief description of it, then I click install and a warning pops up saying "don't disconnect your device or it may die" or so and next I get a disconnection!! The connection is re-established right away and the screen says "usb connected", I click next and the same thing repeats, I lose the connection and the screen returns to "usb connected" and repeats and repeats...
I removed all Nokia related things from my PC and reinstalled Ovi Suite, but it didn't help.
I haven't managed to install a single update with Nokia Ovi Suite. Last time I used the phone's built in update function as I encountered this same problem, but I'd really like to use Ovi Suite. What could be wrong?

I ended up using the phone's built in update function – again. Only now after the update things have turned so that I can't sign into my Nokia account with my phone and as a result of that I can't use Ovi Store or Socials-application! Every time the login screen is attempted to open, the phone is stuck loading. I let the phone load over night but nothing happened, battery just went empty (fast). Shutting down the phone, removing battery and restarting again helped briefly, I was able to sign in but the problem came back just as fast and the phone is stuck loading again. I tried removing the battery again, but this time it didn't help. Sorry for off topic. Then back...
Ovi Suite gives an option to reinstall the Anna update if there should be a problem with it, but the same connection problem prevents the reinstallation and my phone doesn't give such an option, so... Although I heared that restoring factory settings might delete the Anna update and if that happens I could reinstall using the phone... Confirmation to this ? (I'm getting a headache with this... Maybe I want an older version back... Such worked...)

Could not connect with nokia pc suite

I have one nokia 2690 and in its connectivity option is given nokia pc suite. I installed nokia pc suite 7.1 on pc. But when i tried to connect my phone with usb cable a message from the bottom right corner of the taskbar of pc pops up and says "usb device not recognised" and also "click this balloon to fix this problem". When I clicked on the balloon it opened a window in the first tab of which my usb posts were listed- one was showing HID COMPLIANT MOUSE and the other in which i had connected the phone was showing UNKNOWN DEVICE. The other tab was of DRIVER and it shows No drivers are installed for this device. But I know that windows and nokia pc suite automatically install required drivers. I disconnected cable from my phone and also switched the usb ports but again the same message appeared. I also uninstalled each and everything that nokia pc suite installed on my pc and also the nokia pc suite itself and again reinstalled pc suite but of no help.What would you suggest- is my cable not compatible with my phone(i borrowed it from my friend but it connect to my phone perfectly) or the cable is damaged or nokia pc suite version 7.1 not compatible with nokia 2690 or anything else? Nokia Ovi Suite and Nokia 5800 crashing after fw u...

When I start my Nokia Ovi Suite (V. 2.2.0.245) it works as usual, I can brows around my content without any problems. As soon as I connect my Nokia 5800 XM (RM-356 V. 51.0.006) it crashes. Worked just fine before I upgraded to the latest version on the phone.

Uninstall Ovi and re-download from Nokia web. Reinstalled Ovi Suite but that didn't work.
I then uninstalled all Ovi and all Nokia related software, cleaned Registry and reinstall Ovi Suite: Failed to fix.
Then I installed Nokia PC Suite 7.1.40.1 which worked just fine with 5800 XM (RM-356 V. 51.0.006). I had no problems making backups or to synchronize.

I just tried Nokia Ovi Suite again to copy the full error report that it sends to Microsoft.... lo and behold it started to work again?????

Made a complete backup on my phone.
Installed Nokia Software Updater and I reinstall the latest FW 51.0.006 to my phone.
Then I organized my content for a few minutes.
Shut down Nokia PC Suite and Nokia Software Updater.
Started up Nokia Ovi Suite.
Connected my phone and clicked on PC-Suite on the options.
It now works again????
Something happened when I installed PC Suite that enabled me to use my Nokia 5800 with Ovi Suite again.

Help please with 2006 Macbook 13inch, for tv hook up.

Help please with 2006 Macbook 13inch, to hook up to tv for streaming. The display works through VGA but the audio isn't working. Got a plug that goes into headphone jack on computer and connects into the audio jack on the back of tv but no sound. I'm not quite sure what the issue is, whether its the wrong plug, the tv, or the computer. Best Buy says this is the right plug and it seems that it would be, but who knows. If anyone has any experience in this, I would appreciate the help!

Make sure those audio plugs are matched with the VGA plug. With your MacBook running something with audio switch between your sources on the TV Component, Composite and such. See if the sound is coming from another source. If so then you've got your audio plugs in the wrong jacks.
Also could you post the make and model number of your TV.

I can't create a new profile in the Nokia PC Suite, and therefore not synchronize my E71 when connected to my laptop, except Over the Air (GPRS).
Which application should I locally use to solve this issue?

To do this You must have
To install and run Nokia PC Suite
• At least 250 MB of free disk space
• One of the following operating systems:
• Windows Vista 32-bit and 64-bit editions
• Windows XP Professional x64 edition (Service Pack 2)
• Windows XP (Professional or Home Edition) (Service Pack 2)
• Administrator rights to the PC to install software on it,
so as far as i know, for Windows NT users, Nokia PC Suite 7.0.7.0 may not be compatible i guess.

Finder is still crashing with Lightroom 1.3 and Mac OS X 10.5.1

The problem reported with Lightroom 1.2 and Mac OS X 10.5 (Finder crashes when trying to read a JPG whose metadata contain some Lightroom specific development settings) is still present with both updates... Any hope Adobe would provide us with a way to fix existing pictures/metadata?

The Lightroom XMP data for snapshots, which is totally valid XMP data makes Leopard barf because Apple's implementation of XMP in Leopard is not capable of parsing the snapshot XMP. This is most totally Apple's fault...and only Apple can fix it...
The Photoshop CS3 & Leopard issue with text entry in certain tools is another Apple Leopard fault that Apple will need to fix...
There is also an issue with Epson print drivers running under Leopard and Lightroom 1.3 where printing is not picking up the correct data and print come out light...the same drivers will work with CS3 because CS3 is using the older, none Leopard pipeline. Also note that CS3 will NOT be able to print out using the Leopard 16 bit pipeline while Lightroom 1.3 will be able to...as soon as Epson revs their drivers...
Look, Leopard has introduced MAJOR changes well above and beyond the marketing features Apple promotes....eveybody is scrambling...but to Adobe's credit, they HAVE responded well and quickly to those issues Adobe can fix. Those Adobe CAN'T fix will have to be fixed by the companies responsible....
