When i try to update my IPod it says- "Songs on the IPod cannot be updated becuase all of the playlists selected for updating no longer exist" but all my music is still in my Itunes and in my Playlist but not on my IPod??????

Disc utility showing problems. Help pleasee?

Hi guys
Skipping all the fine details, my MBP is having insane freezing issues and I need to reinstall Lion ASAP. But I also need to backup my files since I haven't been able to backup in a month. Yet whenever I try to backup, I'm told:
The backup was not performed because an error occurred while copying files to the backup disk.
While Trying to repair my external drive thinking it was the problem initially, I verified and repaired that disc and still had the problem.
I tried verifying/repairing my permissions for my internal drive, and I get these amounts of errors:

I have a program which consist of a link list that contains four fields. I put these fields in as Stings becasue they are but I a cannot sem to get it to act right. What you have is a double-linked list. They're tricky. Have you convinced yourself that also the previous-pointers points correctly?
You must define a sort order. You need a method that compares two Links and tells which one is the greater.
You have already identified two special cases of adding Links, when the list is empty and at the end of list. Now, if the list is not empty you DON'T add newLinks at the end. Instead you start at the beginning and compare newLinks with the old ones, one by one.

I NEED HELP NOW i'm desperate. it's really bothering me i've deleted my itunes three times completly off my computer and downloaded it again and the same thing comes up... help pleasee!!!??

---I have the new version of itunes installed. and I uninstalled it by going into add or remove programs and deleted it completely off my computer. I reinstalled it by downloading the new version of itunes off the website.. also I'm not quite sure whether my itunes is external or secondary drive.. i'm thinking external..

actually, that's a good sign. the registry issues are tricky ...
okay, let's try to cleanly remove all your itunes and quicktime program files and folders. use the full uninstallation instructions given here:

and use the windows cleanup utility if you run into trouble.
then download and save a standalone QT 7 installer to your hard drive. we'll run the installation from there. here's a link through to a standalone:

after you've got that installed, download and save a new itunes installer to your hard drive. then run the installation from there, skipping the QT part of the install when given the option.

Hardware, including whether your iTunes music is kept on an external or secondary drive
Current version of the OS
Version of iTunes that you have installed
How you are deinstalling and reinstalling (instructions on reinstalling have been posted as a locked thread at the top of this forum)

Updated Mac OS X 10.6.7, now YouTube requires Flash Player Update?

can anyone help me please? I just bought a Mac Book Pro (mid 2010) 2 days ago. Everything was working great, but now after updating my software, YouTube Videos won't play as they require Flash Player 10. Now, I have followed the link on youtube and downloaded the player, but first of all it doesn't work, plus it makes an ugly desktop icon of flash player on my desktop which i don't want to have. So I believe that flash is included in Mac OS X software right? So if it doesn't work, it's a software issue. Anyone any idea how to get this issue solved??

I solved it . Sorry for being frustrated, it was just because the mac is new and I didnt expect to have such problem with it. Also I didnt mean to be unpolite with saying "help pleasee" i was just very desperate to solve this issue.
The mistake i did was that when the installation finishes you need to restart the browser.... I closed the browser, but i didnt completely end it. So i did the whole process again and ended the safari fully and then restarted it. Then ejected the flash icon from the desktop, and now everything works fine again.

Prerequisites to run a servlet

I am running on apache + jdk1.5 + ubuntu..
I want to run a sample servlet..What are the prerquisites..
when I compile i get a message...
javax.servlet package does not exists..
javax,hhtp package does not exists...
what do i do..
i am running short of time..can some one help pleasee.....

Hi,
first of all you need to have the correct libraries for the servlet to run. these can be found @ you catalina_home of if not present there you should download them from the apache site.... probably you are missing the commons.httpclient jar. the servlet-api.jar is present at the catalina folder, and you may also need catalina.jar
for a servlet you have to have a specific set of directories. So in the servlet folder you should create manually the following folders:
/web
/web/WEB-INF (you will have to create a web.xml file under this directory. Extra help and sample files can be found at the apache /tomcat web page)
/docs
/dist
you have to create also a build.xml (sample can be found at the tomcat web page) and a build.properties that defines the app path, the url tomcat installation directory and management account.
I think these are the ones needed I am also new to the servlet thing

ps: you can of course put your application under the webapps folder which makes it easier but is generally better an cleaner to have your applications run in a separate folder as I told you above

DBUS drives me crazy

Hi, what the hell is going on with dbus lately? I cannot do anything it forbids me to do anything. I cannot find any documentation, I am desperate. What should I do? I cannot use wicd, I cannot use X server, I can nothing. now even root cannot. I am tearing my hair off my head. I cannot take this any longer. HELP PLEASE

this is the biggest error. What has happened to dbus? there were no problems, and after recent update it is literally a pain in the ass
EDIT: this assumes some window manager is running, why couldn"t I use wicd-curses just from console? I tried everything archwiki suggested, the dbus startup and the wicd aid (ck-launch-session dwm). didnt work

Stoping a thread for timeout

I want to set a timeout in my servlet (Tomcat);
I�ve started a thread, within this a sleep was set;
If my Process comes back i interrupt this thread wird thread.interrupt();
in the catch-block for InterruptedException i make an interrupt again;
now the amazing is, if i call thread.isavailable often it returns true, although the run-method of the Thread was sucessfull finished;
can anyone help pleasee??

Do something like this instead:

    if( !done ) {
        obj.wait( timeout );
}Don't use interrupt. It will leave the thread in an inconsistent state.
