#1 Check the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway and DNS Servers on your computer.
As how to do, for example if on Windows XP...
a) Go to Start -> Run.
b) Type in
cmd
and press enter.
c) In the new window, called the command prompt, type in
ipconfig /all
and press enter.
#2 With your web browser go to the default gateway, and log-in as need be.
#3 Show the first screen that you see, in your router.

Help: Port forward in Cisco SOHO 97
Hi there!
I have a Cisco SOHO 97.
The IP is: 10.0.0.1/24
Gw: 0.0.0.0
*Default route via DIALER1
I also have a RV042 configured as VPN Server (PPTP and IPSec).
The IP is: 10.0.0.2/24
I need help to configure the router to I be able to connect to VPN server from OUTSIDE-WORLD.
I imagine I need Port forwarding from Cisco SOHO to RV042.
I hope for possibles answers!
Thanks!Sorry i found the issue.
The problem was that, i wanted to redirect port 443 (https) to an private address.
But by default port 443 is reserved to access ASA via https for management.
I just reserved another port 888 for https management access and now i can redirect port 443 normaly as i wanted.
Using this command: http server enable 888

Help Port Forwarding My playstation 3!
My Router: WRT54GS
Well, I have already finished opening all the ports on the routers main page, but I have absolutely no idea what to do next!
I opened or forwarded like 8 Ports, so it would be much more compatible with my PS3 and online gaming, but I don't know what to do next! I made a static IP, but I've been hearing that you need to assign a static IP to the PS3. How exactly do I do that? What IP address should I assign my PS3?Don't use the IP Address assigned to the computer, instead use a different(unique) IP Address(like 192.168.1.60) for your Play Station...While Port Forwarding on your router you should make sure to open the Ports for the static ip address used on your Play Station...

Help port forwarding my WRT54GS
When I go to 192.168.1.1, Internet Explorer alerts me that the page has an error, I look down to see most of the text and images missing on the page. Once I finally get to the port forward section, there were no "apply" or "accept" buttons. If anyone could tell me how to fix this I would be greatly appreciative. ~~Thanks, ~~Brendon
Download and run the tftp.exe utility from the linksys ftp site.

Need help port forwarding on A1264 Airport Express
Hey, I am having some trouble forwarding a port.
I have followed guides online,
My OS is Windows 7
1) I created a static ip for my computer 10.0.1.151
2) Went into Airport Utility, Under Internet > DHCP tab I clicked "+", used my computers mac address, and used 10.0.1.151 for the IPv4 feild.
3) Went to Advanced > Port Mapping, clicked "+" typed in the TCP port i want forwarded, and typed 10.0.1.151 in for private IP feild.
Everytime I test to see if the port is open using this site:
http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/
It says the port is closed.
Is there something I'm doing wrong?
Any Help is apprecieted
ThanksI assigned a static ip to my ps3 and set these ports up and my NAT type is open.

Solved!
Go to Solution.the default login to the router is usually either admin / password or admin / password1
If neither of these work, just press the reset button on the back for about 10 seconds and then when the router boots back up it will default back to admin / password
Oh, BTW, Just in case, the IP to log into the router is 192.168.1.1 just in case you didnt already have that

Please Help - Only Some Port Forwards Working
Hi all,
I have the most annoying issue with a Cisco 887VA-K9 port forwarding. Some port work while other don’t and I just can’t see why, however I suspect it is a zone based firewall (ZBF) issue.
Port forwards on the follow ports all work fine:
External port 8021 to 192.168.4.253 on port 80 works
External port 8022 to 192.168.4.253 on port 8022 works
All the rest don’t. I also have SIP phones sitting outside the LAN which are unable to register through the internet with the PBX unit which is in the DMZ network 192.168.4..0
Any help would be great appreciated as this sending me mad. Fully running config below.
Louise ;-)

banner login ^CCWelcome to QQQ ADSL GatewayIt turns out the problem had nothing to do with wires or splitters. The Verizon tech was at my house yesterday and the ONT was failing. He replaced part of the ONT and it fixed the problem (finally!). At least I was able to watch the Celtics game last night.
I have a Tellabs ONT. Not sure the model but it's older like the ones in this thread.

Port forwarding for Warcraft 3 - no other posts have helped me solve this :
Hi everyone,
At risk of flogging a dead horse, I am having trouble with port forwarding/port mapping on my new AEBS and need help.
Warcraft 3 requires ports 6112-6119 open, which I had successfully set up through the Router Management Interface of my router (Speedstream 536 v6). Since I've set up the airport and run the router through it, I've been unable to host/join games on Warcraft, due to ports not being open.
I've since gone back in to the router setup and attempted to configure it. I've tried sending the open port traffic to the base station, to the computer, and a combination of each, but nothing seems to fix it.
Aside from port forwarding, it is working fine. My internet connection is flawless (a little slower than before airport ... or perhaps my imagination?), my Wii and XBOX360 both find the network fine (360 hard wired over ethernet due to wireless security issues ... see other threads!), but I can't play my warcraft games.
The help system (and some of the other threads on here) direct me to the Airport Utility -> Advanced -> Port Mapping. The problem is that on my advanced pane I only see:
- Logging and SNMP
- Bonjour
- IPv6
I've tried restarting the AEBS but get no joy. Is there something I'm doing that is fundamentally wrong? Can anyone help me? I'm not sharing the connection with any other computers, just wii and xbox, if that makes any difference.
If there's anything else you'd need to know, please ask me.
I look forward to your responses, and any help is most appreciated.
Regards,
GHThe IP address of my iMac is 10.0.0.1; the address of the Speedtouch is 10.0.0.138; the AEBS is 10.0.0.2, and the xbox360 (which the speedtouch sees as "Generic device") is 10.0.0.4.
On the speedtouch setup page, there's a lot of long-winded gibberish which I don't really understand, but perhaps it'll be of some use to someone more knowledgable on the topic. Each device has the following information:

Does any of this help at all? -
Hi.
I have just bought a Wireless Router, Model Number: WGKPC354G-UK. With the intention of setting up a small server. This server will run from my PC (directly wired into router), running a game called "Counter Strike" - I had to download a dedicated-server tool for this and i successfuly installed this and followed the tutorial to set it all up..
So I thought i had done it, but I could only access my server with my internal IP 192.168.1.64 (LAN).
I then found out that i needed to "Port-Forward" I followed a tutorial on www.portforward.com - This showed me how to open the ports, and which ones to open.
I did all this and i still encounter the same problem !
So i then opened all my router ports "DNZ" and it still doesnt work !!!
Any help will be greatly aprreciated !
PS. Below Are The Required Ports.
http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Linksys/WAG354G/Counter_Strike.htmKeep in mind your ISP could be blocking the ports needed. DMZ almost ALWAYS works and if it doesnt, most likely your ISP blocks the ports.
another test is to make sure you can connect to the game server from another CS machine on the inside of your network. If this works, that means your server is up and running properly and its probably your ISP blocking certain ports needed for the CS Server.
You should also check you have the Windows firewall disabled, and any other software firewall on your server disabled. -
Help needed to do port forwarding in ipfw...
For the last weeks I have been working to get the new open-source content management system Alfresco working. It is a pure Java web application that runs under Tomcat. There is official support for Mac OS X but only Windows and Linux gets true installer binaries with guides and everything.
The unique thing about this platform is that it has a built in Java-based CIFS/SMB-server to expose the content not only in web browser but as a mounted volume as well. However, it turned out more than difficult to get that working in my Mac OS X Server 10.4.9 running on an XServe G5 2.0Ghz.
I can run the startup script for the Tomcat as root on my laptop running Mac OS X 10.4.9 and then the CIFS-server can use standard ports like 137, 138, 139 and 445. Finder can mount that as a volume called Alfresco. However, I do not want to run it as root because of several other issues related to X11. There is a note in the installation text that if running the script not as root but as admin or a designated Alfresco user requires port forwarding. That means setting up firewall rules to forward requests from the standard CIFS TCP ports 139/445 to the non-privileged ports the Alfresco CIFS server is listening on (which are 1137,1138,1139 and 1145).
I have understood that this is not possible through the Server Admin GUI-app but needs to be done either in the terminal or by using an app like WaterRoof. I guess also Apple´s server tools are famous for overwriting config files made by a "third-party" app. However, I can't make it work and ipfw syntax still looks very confusing to me. Any ideas of what I need to do in order to have this port forwarding to work.
I have tried something like this so far:
# ! /bin/sh
echo "Setup CIFS Port Forwarding ..."
sysctl -w net.inet.ip.fw.enable=1
sysctl -w net.inet.ip.forwarding=1
sysctl -w net.inet.ip.fw.verbose=1
sysctl -w net.inet.ip.fw.debug=0
#ipfw add 100 count log ip from any to any
ipfw add 200 allow ip from any to any via lo0
# Forward native SMB and NetBIOS sessions to non-privileged ports
ipfw add 300 fwd 192.168.1.2,1445 tcp from any to any dst-port 445 in
ipfw add 400 fwd 192.168.1.2,1139 tcp from any to any dst-port 139 in
# Forward NetBIOS datagrams to non-privileged ports
ipfw add 500 fwd 192.168.1.2,1137 udp from any to any dst-port 137 in
ipfw add 600 fwd 192.168.1.2,1138 udp from any to any dst-port 138 in
Windows filesharing i Mac OS X Server is turned off and there are firewall rules to allow traffic on the designated ports.
http://www.alfresco.com
Any hints would be very helpful!
XServe G5 Mac OS X (10.4.9)Ok, thanks for the tip. Had a look at that page and it was only about NAT which is not what I am looking for. I have a server with public IP where I need to forward from one port to another on the same IP. However, I find the information about how to configure IPFW rather limited so I wanted to know if the rules in the first post look right and what pitfalls there are when using the GUI-based server admin tools from Apple

Help with port forwarding to application
Help needed to Port Forward on to my PS3.
I need to forward the following ports:
UDP: 3074; 3659; 6000
TCP: 80; 443; 3659; 10000 - 10099; 42127
Have previously given the PS3 a static IP, set the port forwarding rules and then forwarded to the IP address, but it appears the ports have not opened as expected.
Help KeithI can only see one image which just shows the application mapping, but no indication as to whether you had clicked the "apply" button.
Why are you forwarding ports 80 and 443, are you running a webserver on the PS3, as those ports are used for web serving.
As a matter of interest, your port 80 is showing as open at the moment, so is the PS3 turned on, or is port 80 mapped to something else instead?
What I would like you to do is to start from the beginning, with just the single TCP port number 3659 assigned to the PS3.
It will mean removing the other assignments, but it will make things a bit easier.
If you could do that please, and then we can do some tests.

Help setting up port forwarding for Ekiga
Hi
I am trying to set up Ekiga on my Arch X86_64 box but I can't get port forwarding to work on the Thomson TG585v7 wireless router, which I am sharing with a neighbor. I have tried some how-to's I found via Google and set up Application/Game Sharing for the ports Ekiga uses. I also set up static IP connection as it seems to be needed by the router for port forwarding to work but Ekiga still reports that it cannot set up my network connection and asks me to set up port forwading manually, which I have already done.
I would very much appreciate any help to get Ekiga going for me.
My thanks in advance.graysky wrote:No idea for you specific hardware but should be pretty trivial. http://wiki.ekiga.org/index.php/Enable_ … g_manually
Thanks, but the problem is that setting up the router doesn't seem to work. I checked and repeated the set up a few times but no result. I feel I am missing a little detail somewhere but can't put my finger on it :-( -
Please Help, Setting up router and AirPort with port forwarding
If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.
I have a DSL Router supplying my internet connection, this is then connected to my AirPort Base station and distributes my internet connection to my two Macs and my two iPhones. Everything is working fine, however I want to forward some of the ports and I cannot do this since the base station is in bridge mode. If I take the AirPort base station out of bridge mode it gives me an error that say's Double NAT.
Thanks in advance for any help."When the AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) is in bridge mode every port is already forwarded directly through the AEBS. ... Therefore the option to forward ports is unneeded and not available."
I don't believe this to be true. Isn't port forwarding done on the router and not the AEBS, as it is not a router?
Go into your DSL router by typing the routers address (found in the network pane in system preferences) into your browser's window. This should take you to your log-on page on your router. -
Port Forwarding/Router Firewall HELP
I'm trying to use my iSight built in cam with "aMSN" and they give me error messages when I configure. It says I have firewall/port issues to free up or something. Here's what help says to do:
"To do this, open your router web-based configuration (check router manual for details on this). Once you have the web-based configuration open, browse for a setting called "port forwarding" or "port range forwarding" or something similar to that. (This might be found under the advanced features for your router).
Now that you have the port forwarding page open, you will want to set the port forwarding range so that aMSN will be able to accept and send the webcam stream.
Here's an example of how you will set up your port forwarding:
Application: aMSN
Start: 6890
End: 6900
Protocol: Both(TCP & UDP)
IP: xxx.xxx.x.xxx
Enabled: X (Yes/True)
Note: xxx.xxx.x.xxx is the IP of your machine that you are trying to send / receive webcam
If you have a web server open on your port 80, you can try to disable it too, sometimes it helps. "
All I'm asking is how do I get to the port forwarding page to do what they have displayed above? I've tried Apple support topics on the subject and all were irrelevent or only dealt with iChat.
Any ideas? Thank you!Are you using an Airport? If not, what type of router do you have connected? Each manufactor is different, but should provide the information in their manuals.
