Help: POST error 0167 after upgrade

Hi all,
I have a Thinkcentre A55 (9641A45) and I am trying to update it.
I have replaced the original Core 2 Duo E4300 (1.8 Ghz) CPU with a newer E4700 (2.6 Ghz) cpu. The Intel 946GZ chipset is compatible so this shouldn't be a problem.
Half-way through the startup I got the "POST Error 0167: no processor BIOS found" message. after a few seconds the startup continues with no other errors.
However, when I check the processor it is running permanently at half speed (1.3 Ghz).
I try going into the BIOS (I have the latest that Lenovo has provided) to see the CPU settings but the advanced settings are hidden.
Anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Just a thought, have you tried to reset the bios? Take out the battery on the motherboard for about 15 mins and put it back in then see if  you can access the BIOS settings. Make sure you have a copy of what settings you have in the BIOS though.

    I am getting this error message after upgrading to iOS5: "iTunes cannot sync apps to the iPad "ray's iPad" because the apps installed on the iPad could not be determined."
    I wiped it out and restored from backup but I am still getting the same message.

    I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes and that fixed it. Here are the specific instructions that I was given.
    ~~~
    Try the following steps:
    1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
    Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
    2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
    it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
    Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
    Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
    3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch
  • Error message after Upgraded from 2.53ghz (533 FSB) to 3.2ghz (HT)
    Hi! everyone,
    As you can see i'm a newbie on this board, however I've frequently visited here once in a while.  Anyway, the problem I currently have after I upgraded my cpu from 2.53 ghz to 3.2ghz HT (Northwood) is that I not very often (few times so forth since monday) see this error message after reboot my pc :
    ***Message starts here***
    A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
    If this is the first time you've seen this stop error restart your computer.  If this message appears again, follow these step:
    Run system diagnostic utility supplied by your hardware manufacturer.  In particularly run a memory check and check for faulty or mismatched memory, try changing video adapters.
    Disable or remove any newly installed hardware or drivers....etc.
    ....................................... ........etc.....
    ****Message ends here****
    As i stated before I've never seen this message before the upgrade.  So, here is my configurations:
    BEFORE
    875P NEO-LSR w/ BIOS v. 2.0
    2.53ghz 512 FSB CPU
    9500 Readon 128mb video card
    Dual IDE HD 80gb & 160 gb (NON SATA)
    1gb Dual channel memory (512mb on channel 1  -  512mb on channel 3) (KINGSTON pc2700 module)
    CURRENT
    857P NEO-LSR w/BIOS v. 2.0
    3.2ghz 800 FSB 512mb (L2 cache) CPU
    9500 Readon 128mb video card
    Dual IDE HD 80gb & 160 gb (NON SATA)
    1gb Dual channel memory (512mb stick on channel 1 - 512mb stick on channel 3) (KINGSTON pc2700 module) *
    * may be this causes this error message because as I read it on the discription page of the 875P NEO-LSR that it will only support DUAL channel (PC3200 type) with HT CPU.  So, i suspect this may cause the problem but I havent try to rearrange my memory to one channel (1 x 2) yet.
    I will greatly appreciate it if someone in here who may has experienced it before or know what all this means.  Please advise
    Thanks for your advise bejon2000.
  • Error -2147136192 after upgrading DeviceNet to 2.1
    I get Error -2147136192 - "You cannot open EM or IO in slave mode.  Solution use the MAC ID which is different form that of the interface to open IO or EM." after upgrading from the DeviceNet 1.6 drivers to the new 2.1 Drivers.
    I'm not really sure what this means.  I get this error on a call to Easy IO Config.vi.  I've read this document: http://www.ni.com/white-paper/14074/en but can't really tell why this error is getting generated or how I'd need to refactor my code to avoid it.
    I did see this note: "the NI-IndCom for DeviceNet 2.1 software does not support C based languages, DeviceNet slave mode, NI-DNET Configurator or Analyzer in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX)" but I don't know how to verify if we were trying to connect to the existing node as a slave.  I don't see any documentation that/why EM mode is not supported.
    I didn't write the original code so I'm not sure whether we are using Explicit Messaging (EM) or slave mode.  Any help into how to dig into this problem more is appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance!
    I looked into this problem and found a bug in my configuration data of custom code that was being used.  There wasn't a problem in the DeviceNet Driver Upgrade process.  Thanks for helping look into this.
  • Error messages after upgrading kernel (devfs to udev) [SOL]
    when installing the new kernel i got a message to change my menu.lst so it changed "/dev/discs/disc0/part3" to "/dev/hda3" (and nothing else) cause of udev instead of devfs.
    after rebooting i get few error messages:
    [after network start]
    SIOCSIFADDR: No such device
    eth0: unknown interface: No such device
    SIOCSIFBRDADDR: No such device
    etho0: unknwon interface: No such device
    kjs wrote:I'm also having an issue after upgrading neither eth0 nor eth1 are showing up in /dev .... I think it's due to the switch from devfs to udev...
    for the record - network interfaces never show up in /dev - they're not normal devices
    edit: I guess I should provide some help...
    ifconfig and "ifconfig -a" will list network devices (also in /proc/net somewhere).  If you do not have a network device that means that your module is not properly loaded for that device.
    This should have nothing to do with a devfs/udev switch and everything to do with a kernel upgrade.
    Just for some more info, can you please report the output of:
    · lsmod
    · uname -r
    · ls /lib/modules
    · ifconfig -a
  • Help does not launch after upgrading from RH5 to RH7
    My problem is similar to CaroMe1's. Topics within chm files
    created using RH5 and integrated into our software product launch
    correctly when a Help button is clicked on a dialog. After
    upgrading to RH7, using the the same project files, chm files
    created using RH7 do not launch at all; that is, nothing happens
    when a Help button is clicked on any dialog.
    Thanks in advance for any advice!
    The .chm filename and the .xpj filename are the same.
    Sorry if I was swerving and incoherent! I probably shouldn't
    have posted after traveling and no sleep!
    Here is how I tested for the source of this problem:
    1. I created a .chm file using RH 5, integrated it into our
    product, clicked on the Help button on any of our dialogs, and the
    appropriate Help topic displayed.
    2. I created a .chm file using RH 7 (using the exact same
    project files as in the previous step), integrated it into our
    product, clicked on the Help button on any of our dialogs, and
    nothing happened. No topic, no Help. Nothing.
    Is that a better description of the problem? (I hope)
    Thanks again!
    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
    Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
    See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
    When you get it all working make a backup!
    Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
  • Unknown Error 13005 after upgrading
    Itunes will no longer open after upgrading to 8. I believe because my music library is not on my local machine it is having problems. How does a person downgrade Itunes?
    Same issue for me. iTunes 8 and an external drive. The cause of the lockup happened right after launching iTunes. Genius started doing its thing, then I went to the iTunes store and did a search for a song. Boom! Crash to the desktop. After that, I got the error and no iTunes. Removal of the genius related files (iTunes Library Genius.itdb-journal and iTunes Library Genius.itdb) plus the iTunes Library Genius.itdb.lock files allowes iTunes to work for me as well.
    I wonder if there is a limit to how much song data can be uploaded?
    Anyway, thanks Chris for the info.
  • Error message after upgrade
    I got the following message when trying to telnet to our switch after upgrading from 3.3(4a) to 3.3(5b) on our MDS 9120 (after supplying my credentials):
    telnet login is temporarily not available as startup configuration is being applied.
    This was after the switch reloaded after issuing the install all command. Since I couldn't telnet I logged in via the console and noticed there was no startup config but the running config was there and correct. After about 30 minutes with the switch being up everything was back to normal. The startup config was there and I all services were up and running.
    Has anyone experienced something like this before with an upgrade? During all my past upgrades after the reload (single supervisor switches) the switch was up and running just fine. Something a new to this upgrade for me is that this switch doesn't have an active mgmt interface, we reach this switch using IPFC (create ip interfaces on vsans that are merged between switches).
    Everything is currently set to the defualt levels.
  • HT1349 Hi...need help to activate 3GS after upgrading ios from 4.1.0 to 6.0.1
    Hi...I have a 3GS and after upgrading the ios i am unable to activate the iPhone..its repeatedly giving the same error as "Your iPhone could not be activated because the actuvation server is temporarily unavailable.Try connecting your iPhone to iTunes to activate it. If this problem persists, contact Apple Support at apple.com/support."
    I have tried the numbers and they are re-directing me again to the website for support.
    Pls assist.
    ~Akash
    Generally this is a sign that the iPhone had previously been
    hacked/modified/jailbroken and the update relocked it to the
    original wireless carrier. If this is the case, only that wireless
    carrier can unlock your iPhone. You must contact them to see
    if they offer unlocking and if you qualify.
    Where did you acquire this iPhone?
    What wireless carrier did you use before this problem?
    Does the app Cydia appear on your iPhone?
    What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>About=>Carrier?
  • Error message after upgrade to iTunes 11: "iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/Video playback may not operate properly."  At this point my PC running XP loses all audio.
    Several attempts to upgrade to iTunes 11 have failed.  After an upgrade to 11 the error message reads: "iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/Video playback may not operate properly."  At this point--after the upgrade to iTunes 11--my PC running Windows XP loses audio playback for all functions--in iTunes, in the browser and the volume icon disappears from the System Tray.  Only by removing iTunes 11, and then using System Restore to turn back the OS settings can I return the PC to normal functioning.
    I did that.  I reinstalled iTunes 10.5.  Everything seemed fine, but when I try to plug in and copy a CD to my iPhone 4S an error message reads roughly: 'iPhone 4S requires iTunes 10.5 or higher to work.'
    What might be the problem with my audio configuration?
    Why doesn't my iPhone 4S work with iTunes 10.5?  It used to work with iTunes 10.5.
    Please advise.
  • Time Machine can't access sparsebundle Error 13 after Upgrade
    Hey Community!
    I just downloaded and upgraded to Mountain Lion - everything went well!
    But when I tried to to a Time Machine Backup it says - can't access sparsebundle, Error 13.
    Using a MyBook Live 2TB NAS on my Gigabit Router - it worked so far with Snow Leopard pretty well!!
    What can I do?
    What's wrong?
    Thanks in advance!
    Best regards from Austria,
    David
    I was having the same problem with a WD My Book Live External hard drive. I google searched it for a few hours and finally found someone who had the answer posted. I laughed at how simple it was! That time my problem was a error-1 I guess. However I ended up doing a factory restore of the external hard drive for specific reason other than that. That was a few days ago and I had forgotten about that error message and how I fixed it, so now I've been google searching again for days trying to find that post. I tried what someone one else posted about creating new disk image but that only gave me error-13, the same as you have. So! more hours of google searching trying to find the post again. However! I fixed it by accident and now the drive is backing up. Then I remembered that's exactly what that post told someone else to do. This is what worked for me and that other person on that post that I read a few weeks back. Whe you select your External drive in time machine, don't sign in as a registered user, sign in as a guest! That's all I did and no more error-1 or error-13. The drive just strated backing up right after that! Before it took awhile searching for the back up drive before it gave me those error messages and now it's backing just fine again,lol. I read pelople giving some long complex (though step by step) solutions, but for a non techie like myself, just reading them gave me a headache,lol. I figured I should should at least try and see if that helps someone else becasue it was real frustrating and I'm guessing anyone would feel the same when trying to fix this thing. Anyways! try that and I hope it helps. Good Luck!
  • "iTunes could not back up the iPad because the iPad disconnected" error message after upgrading to 8.3
    Yesterday I upgraded my iPad Air from 7.1.2 to 8.3 after holding off upgrading until now. Before the upgrade I backed up the iPad without any problems but since the upgrade I can't back up the iPad – it goes to step 2 of 4 and stays there for ages, and then I get a pop up box saying "iTunes could not back up the iPad "...  iPad" because the iPad disconnected."
    I've just tried setting up iTunes on another PC and backing up the iPad to this iTunes and got the same error message so it's not the iTunes setup on either computer (Windows 7 PCs).
    Everything I've tried so far seems to be working on the iPad but I can't do any backups.
    Any suggestions on what else to try will be much appreciated.
    Sometimes resetting the iPad system helps. Did you try that? If not, try it. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen, then let go of the buttons and let the iPad start up. Then try to backup again.
