HELP! Prem Pro Upload Driver Issues

Running the 1month trial of Prem Pro CS6 - and still not able to launch.
The exact error message reads:
"Adobe Prem Pro could not find an capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers, and start again."
I run ATI mobility Radeon premium graphics and according to my Samsung Chronos 7 laptop all drivers are up to date.
Any help / advices gratefully recieved. Thank you!!

Unfortunately, many laptop mfgrs. rewrite the video drivers, and when they do, the nVidia, or ATI/AMD drivers will not install. Toshiba commonly does this, as do many others. I do not know Samsung, but it appears that they use a proprietary version of the ATI/AMD driver, so you are at their mercy, to issue new drivers. I hope that they are better than Toshiba was, as they seldom issued video driver updates. For about 5 years, I had to use a Web site, to customize the nVidia drivers, to fool the laptop into thinking that it was from Toshiba: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/drivers With that Toshiba Satellite, I was able to update my nVidia drivers, about every month. Do not know if it will work with Samsung, and ATI/AMD drivers though.
Good luck,
Hunt

  • Help required with optical drive issues on a 2008 Mac Book Pro

I've got a problem with my Optical Drive not accepting CD, DVD etc. All the disks I put in just whirr around for a few seconds and then spit out the discs. First I've read on loads of discussion forums that the symptoms said the optical drive was capput, so I bought a new one and installed it using those very good guides by ifixit. Booted up the Mac Book Pro, all working as previously, put in a CD into the NEW optical drive....same result. So methinks this is some sort of software/config issue. Read a few more blogs/discussion and manged to get the optical drive to read my CD's when I put them in during boot up - works as it should, copies them to iTunes etc.....Ejected the CD put in another one.....back to the original problem.....disc whirrs around and get spat out after a few seconds.
Anyone experienced this problem as well and found a resolution....

    Hi Mate,
    I didn't do an OS install, I took it to an apple store and made a Genius Bar appointemnt. Explained the proble and after 15min conversation, they diagnosed it as teh following;
The felt/rubber where you put the CD/DVD had gone hard and the friction is causing the CD/DVD to get stuck and be loaded. They tried to tell me that I need to replace the top case  (£140+VAT) as its in-built into it or I can use a £3 spudger to push the CD's in......needles to say the Spudger works fine.....Shame I wasted £100 on the new optical drive ;o( Maybe sell teh spare on eBay....Happy days!

  • 2009 15" MacBook Pro Hard Drive Issues

    Hey everyone,
I'm having some trouble with my mid 09' 15" MacBook Pro, 2.53 GHz, 8GB RAM, 250GB Hard Drive running 10.7.2. Recently, my hard drive failed and I have AppleCare so it was replaced for free. The computer came with a 250GB drive which means it had to be replaced with a 250GB drive from Apple.
I work for an Authorized Apple Reseller (privately owned - not corporately owned apple store) and they can complete machine repairs here and they ordered/replaced the apple drive for me.
Here is my issue: I am a film/video production student and as a result I do a lot of video editing/web design. My 250GB hard drive is no match for working with a lot of HD quality video, it's a space hog! I'm very technically savvy and an replace RAM and hard drives in machines myself since I work for an Authorized Apple Reseller. I've purchased internal 500GB drives to replace my 250GB drive so I can have more space to store/work with video.
My machine can't seem to read or work with any 500GB internal drive I purchase and install. I've used 2 different Western Digital 500GB 5400 RPM drives, a Seagate 500GB 7200 RPM drive and even a Hitachi 500GB 7200 RPM drive. I've used Carbon Copy Cloaner to copy my information from current 250GB drive to the new 500GB drives and they will boot but they run like crap! They will work....I attempt to open an application and i get the rainbow spinning wheel of death and the machine will then freeze for 5 minutes. I can use it again for 30 seconds after which it freezes again for another couple minutes and this just goes on and on.
I've also tried installing Snow Leopard fresh onto the drive and manually moving my content over via an external drive or something. Same result! I couldn't even install Snow Leopard completely without the install failing.
None of the service techs at my work can answer my problems, they've never seen it before. AppleCare was no help on the phone. Also, my machine passes all of Apple's service diagnostics.
Can anyone think of anything else I haven't done to help me?! I would really appreciate it!
    Thanks guys!!

Have you replaced the SATA cable to the hard drive?
Can I suggest you consider external storage for your video production?
No matter how big a drive you install in your MacBook Pro it will quickly fill up.
There are a number of external drives available specifically built for video editing.

  • MacBook Pro DVD drive issues

Hi there, recently I got a something strange problem with the DVD drive in my MacBook Pro 15" (2,2Ghz Intel core Duo, 10.5.8). Beginning with the error 0x80020042 first I tried cleaning the laser lens which worked for a few times, I also had errors like "... illegal access..", or the drive just could not read from disks, or the system does not recognize a blank disk was inserted. Using Toast to burn files to CDs it turns red indicating that there is not enough space on the disk even if the files are small, only a few kilobytes or megabytes large. Using the Mac OS I get the same message.
I'd appreciate your help and suggestions.
    Thanks.

maybe its hardware issue if you contact apple store or apple support they could help you

  • Problems installing windows on a clean Mac Pro internal drive - issues and questions

    Hey,
I have a Mac Pro mid 2010 with the following drive configurations:
3x120GB SSD in a RAID-0 as Boot (OS X 10.8.6) and SSD Scratch (working files)
3x4TB HDD in a RAID-0 as Master (data) and HDD Scratch (downloads)
1x100GB SSD (Spare...to install windows on)
I have literally tried every possible way of installing Windows 8 on that single SSD...both using bootcamp and without.
I can get it installed and working, install all the drivers/updates/software...involving multiple reboots into windows. Everything seems fine, and i shut down and boot into OS X, which works perfectly as expected. BUT, when i try and boot into Windows again (using <option> key at startupand selecting the windows volume, called "EFI Boot" which i did not name) I can log in and start using apps and then 20-40 seconds later i get the BSOD.
I can't for the life of me figure out why.
It's the easiest thing in the world to partition a single OSX drive to boot windows ON THE SAME DRIVE, but i can't seem to boot stably into a standaloe internal drive.
NOTE: I prepare the Windows drive by formatting the entire thing to "Free Space" using disk utility in Mac OS X, and can see that there are no partitions (EFI or otherwise) on the drive. Then I pull all the other drives except the target drive, reboot with a Windows 8 USB drive (created by BootCamp Assistant on my macbook air, because apparently some genius thought that task was too complicated for a Mac Pro...jks) and install from there.  The funny part is that i can pick out the target drive in the windows setup, it's registering as 1 disk/partition of UNALLOCATED SPACE, as expected, but there is a warming that windows cannot be installed on this drive because my computer does not support booting to this disk, and that i should check that it's controller is enabled in the BIOS.....which to the best of my knowledge is not used by intel-macs, which use UEFI. But i can still click "Next", so I do and install Windows and boot to this drive, restarting and installing software updates and drivers as mentioned above.
The BSOD seems to pop up only after i've rebooted to Mac OS X and then try to go BACK to Windows 8.
The version of windows 8 and install USB were checked using my macbook air, and they work flawlessly. ASLO that warning about not being able to boot to the drive during windows setup isn't present.
I'm wondering if the fact the the RAID volumes are a software RAID, using Disk Utility in OSX is causing windows some issues...which makes no sense.
I'll keep playing, but I'm not confident I'm ever going to find a solution.
    Somebody be my hero...

    Hey Hatter,
    Another question for you:
I can't seem to use system preferences>>startup disk to boot into windows. When I select windows and then restart i get a black "BIOS-like" screen which then cuts out and a message is displayed that says "there is no bootable disc"
This stumped me, because I know i can boot into windows from the boot screen (holding down option and selecting "EFI Boot" which apparently is what my windows drive is called.
because of my Mac OSX Raid arrays, i had to install windows by formatting a drive to HFS+ (GUID) pratition table, then repartition to "Free Space" then using an install usb that i made with my macbook air, pull all my other drives and install by selecting the usb drive to boot from.
I went into disk utility to see if I can repair the disk, and disk utility says that the disk has to EFI partition and that we won;t be able to boot from it....which is very confusing because i can boot from it.
Windows 8 apparentl;y uses UEFI from my research....so i'm utterly stumped.
I beleive this is also the cause of my newly purchased graphics card Mac Edition HD 7950, throwing me a BSOD when i select to boot in windows from the boot menu...
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • 2009 MacBook Pro Hard Drive Issues

My MBP has been unusable now for well over 5 months. The problem was that the internal hard drive was simply not being recognized most of the time. Occasionally it would show up but erasing, partitions, and installations all failed. I searched for a while online and found out that it was likely an issue with the hard drive cable. So far I have tried 2 things.
I first ordered a hard drive caddy to replace the dvd drive (since nobody uses those anymore) and try to get the hard drive to be recognized like that. I had no luck and the hard drive never even showed up in disk utility. I figured that I would probably need some sort of software to get this caddy to work (which I would eventually like to use).
The next and most recent thing I have tried is the installation of another hard drive cable. I ordered it on Amazon for about $25 and received it today. It looked exactly the same as the original and had the Foxconn labeling. After installation, the hard drive I have consistently appears in disk utility, but after I try to partition it in disk utility, I recieve the error "File System Formatter Failed" and the hard drive proceeds to disappear from the sidebar.
I am stumped! The hard drive seems to be fine as it boots normally from a USB enclosure. I installed the new cable correctly as far as I am aware. I am using a genuine Mac OS X Snow Leopard install dvd. Can anyone help me? I am open to suggestions and trying anything! I just want a laptop again

I don't believe it has, as it works perfectly fine from a USB enclosure.

  • New Macbook Pro Optical Drive Issues

Okay. So I'm new at college, and had to buy a computer from the University, which I did. I got a Macbook Pro, because I really do like the Mac OS much better. However, I am having constant problems with my Optical Drive. When I first got it, the drive wasn't even recognized in the System. So I turned it in to the Help Desk, they say it works, I get it back and it doesn't. So, I opened it up and re-seated connection to the board and it works. I burned a couple CDs, installed printer, etc it's all working.
Now, for some reason, the drive is constantly doing something when nothings even in there. It's constantly making noises and such, and it will freeze my computer every couple minutes, locking me out. Even while I'm typing this, it's constantly freezing and stuff. When I put a disc in, it's not recognized. I just checked in the Profiler and now the drive isn't seen anymore. What's going on?? Please help!!

After taking it in to the tech department, I gave up on them and opened it myself. Re-seated the connection from the Superdrive to the main board, and it works fine.

  • My macbook pro hard drive issue

    hi
i have a problem with my macbook pro a1226
cant erase the hard drive also i can't activate the hard drive
and when also repair doesn't work.
when i startup the Macbook pro i get a grey loading bar
after loading it restarts the mbp
do someone know what the issue is?

    Hello RoncaGames,
I'm sorry to hear you are having these issues with your MacBook Pro. I also apologize, I'm a bit unclear exactly what you mean when you say you can't erase the hard drive, and/or what exactly you are seeing when you try to do so. Are you attempting to do an Erase and Install from the Recovery partition, as outlined in the following article?
OS X: How to erase and install - Apple Support
If you are still running OS X 10.6 or earlier, you may also be doing the erase from an Install disc:

  • Office pro 8600 driver issues

Until yesterday our printer worked perfectly. We can still print from our iPad and iPhone but when we try to print from our laptop it says either that the printer is offline and/or has no driver. I've tried resetting the printer as suggested in other forum posts and downloading driver software from HP site but the computer then says this is blocked and talk to our system administrator- which is me! I feel like I'm going round in circles,! All help gratefully received. Thx

Running the diagnostics at http://www.hp.com/go/tools may help resolve the issue.

  • New MacBook Pro, Hard Drive Issue.

Alright. I'll try to provide as much info as possible here.
My old MacBook is a 13 inch Late 2008 MacBook Aluminum (non-pro) Unibody.
I just bought a new MacBook Pro, 13 inch, 2.9GHz, 750GB Hard Drive.
I had upgraded my old MacBook to a 1TB hard drive (Samsung HM100UI). I'd like to keep that old hard drive and use it in my new MacBook. However, every time I put that 1TB hard drive in my new computer, I get the "no entry" sign.
    I've tried..
Booting into the partitioned recovery mode.
Booting from a Lion Restore CD.
Reinstalling Lion on my old MacBook with the old hard drive and then putting the old hard drive in the new computer.
Formatting the entire hard drive (one-pass (on the old MacBook)) and putting it in the new computer (Then trying 1 & 2 again)
Resetting the PRAM, NVRAM, and SMC multiple times on both computers.
Every single time, I get the "no entry" sign.
Does anybody know what I can do to make this drive work in the new MacBook?
    edit: added #5

You can't just take that drive from the older system and install it in the new system. Even though both run Lion the Lion install on the older system does not have the correct driver set for the new hardware. In fact Apple came out with a newer version of Lion Just For these Newer System.
It may now be on the Apple servers bot it wasn't a few days, 5-12, ago..

  • Help with PDF Printer Driver Issues?

    Hi,
My pdf printer driver is no longer working - I have CS3. It actually doesn't work in any CS3 program. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the entire suite, and it will just put in a (copy) which also doesn't work. I CAN save as pdf, but I can't print to pdf in any design program. And of course it's all been working perfectly up until now, and I've tried going in through control panel, etc. Usually it just says "Unable to print Illustration" in Illustrator, but I saw one message flash that talked about print spooling - couldn't read it all before it was gone.
Has anyone else seen this issue? Any idea what to do? I desperately need to print to pdf.
    Thanks

    Hi Mike,
I didn't try uninstalling the printer from the fax/print area, so will do that. I have uninstalled all CS3 componants and reinstalled, however, with no improvement. I'll take all the pdf printer/copies out first and try it again. Is there a better place that you know of to download the printer driver separately? I'm not finding that on Adobe by itself. I've just been reinstalling the whole program. (I'm on PC by the way).
    Thanks!

  • Help needed on hard drive issue

    hello,
I have an ibook G4 which i love and cherish, however i am a music lover which is taking up most of the available memory at the moment, i now only have 10.39GB left on an 80GB hard drive.
I have loosley browsed into buying an external hard-drive, for example the SmartDisk FireLite 80GB FireWire drive looks good, however i dont know if an external hard drive would allow me to play music, and allow music to go to my ipod when both are connected to my ibook; bearing in mind i would want to use the firewire for tranffering my music as its a lot quicker. (However i dont know if this is possible, as it didnt seem to be made clear?!)
Not being a 'tekkie' - i dont even know if i can buy a bigger interal hard drive for it?? I know from looking at the store that i can buy more memory something like 512MB, however i know this isnt very big - and even what it would do to my ibook.
If i brought an external hard drive can it link my - music, itunes and ipod all at the same time?
Can i buy internal memory for my ibook?
If i brought the external memory would it be better than the interal memory that would slot under the keyboard?
Sorry for the long winded post i really didnt know how else to put it.
    Help would be much aprechiated,
    Ash
    ibook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Hi Ashlee,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions
You may be talking about hard drive storage rather then memory ( RAM (Random Access Memory). Technically, they are both memory, but to differentiate between the two; most use the terms hard drive storage and RAM.
I suggest getting a external hard drive over getting an internal installed because you risk complications. No matter who opens your iBook, you risk having future problems. The other reason is that its great for backing up your internal hard drive. One should always backup their hard drive just incase anything happens to your computer. One can't predict the day when a friend trips over their own feet; knocking your iBook on the floor with a huge crash. The most annoying thing to carry around when traveling is the Mac OS X install discs. I hate bringing them with me because I am in constant fear that I will loose them. The reason I bring them with me is because if something happens while I am away, I can troubleshoot my problem. I can startup from the install disc and then run Disk Utility, Archive and Install, Erase, and partition my hard drive. Once someone has a problem on the road; they will never leave their house without the discs. Instead of carrying around those discs, I partitioned one of my external hard drives into three sections, one for backup (140Gb), one for Mac OS X Tiger (10Gb), and the last one is for Panther (10Gb. I gave my girlfriend an iBook and she has Panther on it). This means I am equipped to startup my computer without using my internal drive.
Have you ever lost your iTunes library or your TurboTax data? Well, by backing up your hard drive (internal to external), you can save all your vital data incase something happens. You will find it a life saver if anything ever happens.
If you are looking into external hard drives, I suggest anything from LaCie, SmartDisk, or Western Digital
I recommend the LaCie D2 Hard Drive Extreme w/ Triple Interface, SmartDisk CrossFire, or the WD Dual Option.
I use a SmartDisk CrossFire for both my iTunes library as well as my iPhoto library. If you need help moving your iTunes library you might want to look at Knowledge Base Document #301748 explains How to Move Your iTunes Library.
If you truly want an internal hard drive put into your iBook, you can get it done by an outside company like PowerBookResQ. It will cost you $350 instead of $160 for the external. With the external like the CrossFire, you get 160Gb, 2 FireWire Ports (so when your hard drive is plugged in you can still use FireWire), USB 2.0, and more at a lower price.
If you want to upgrade your RAM; I suggest getting it at Crucial.com because they have a guide and a pretty good return policy.
Would you like some recommendations for external hard drives? Do you want a portable hard drive (smaller/thinner/lighter/less power vs slightly bigger/more power/more storage/storage per gigabytes is cheaper).

  • Firmware 1.7 MacBook Pro Hard Drive Issue

I installed the 1.7 firmware update on my new MacBook Pro, got a "successful" install message, however on subsequent boots of the laptop the next day the computer froze up completely and would not recognize the drive.
Luckily, I had a firewire backup (bootable using SuperDuper) and was able to boot from that drive, then erased the main disk, then do a restore from the firewire drive. So, its good that the main disk was responsive to the erase command.
Also, I ran the Apple hardware tests (no errors); ran disk utility repair on the main disk (from external boot); S.M.A.R.T shows no errors, wrote 10 gig to the drive, all seems ok and the speed of the drive is listed as "3" which I think was the purpose of the firmware.
Apple has offered to replace the computer completely, not sure if it is necessary now though.
    Thoughts appreciated.

    You didnt state that above
    1. I then put in the hard drive from another Macbook Pro into my friend's MacBook Pro and it worked.
    2. I'm not sure why the new hard drive isn't working? Btw, when I use a SATA cable and plug the new hard drive in via USB it works perfectly.
Now the new information is a DIFFERENT HD works fine internally, but not the ORIGINAL drive, but DOES work by boot thru USB,..correct?

  • MacBook Pro hard drive issue

This is a 15" MacBook Pro circa 2008-2009. It suddenly won't start past the apple logo and all of my efforts to repair, rebuild, reinstall snow leopard, erase, reformat, etc have been brutally rebuffed. I have used everything at my command, disc utility, Disc Warrior, Tech Tool Pro, Drive Genius, etc, to no avail. I believe it to be hardware failure, specifically, the hard drive. Any suggestions, suspicions etc? Any input would be fantastic!
    Thanks,
    Rob

Thanks. Yes, I have an external hard drive with which you can access the computer. Yes, I can you boot from an OS X installer disc. The information I derive from Disk Utility related to your hard drive is that 1, The volume will not mount, although it reds the drive and that it needs to be repaired. Once I get to repair,it only goes as far as repair, then when it gets to boot volumes, etc. at the end it either gives a memory warning, or says it fails. Other diagnostics point to hardware failure. If it was a RAM failure, nothing would happen, correct?

Have you used the recovery disk or recovery partition to put the notebook back to 'out-of-the-box' condition?  If the slowdown and crashing still happens right after you do this and before you add any other software or even connect to the 'Net, then it is a hardware problem requiring service.
If the problem resolves when you perform a recovery, then add your applications back until you find the culprit.
