Help - Problems downloading video

I've been struggling to download video from Itunes for a couple of days now. I keep getting a time out error, or error # 3259.
I'd appreciate any suggestions or tips on how to resolve this issue.

You need the newest version of iTunes for the iPod Touch. I would suggest downloading the latest version and installing that.

Problems Downloading Video

I have all of my data on a network drive, and when I purchase video through the iTunes Music store it won't download... keeps saying "There was an error downloading your purchased music. The disk could not be read from or written to. Use the Check for Purchases command in the Advanced menu to try again later." I have no problem downloading music or accessing music that is on my network... just the video. Please help. Actually, I can access videos on that drive, just not download them from iTunes.

Instead of trying to download to the network drive, download to the "C" drive, then move your purchase over. This seems to be a semi-common problem with a network drive that is resolved by the above.

Still having problem downloading video

I put a message on here yesterday about downloading video clips from nokia 6300. I have tried going through nokia phone browser in my computer but my pc just won't find the video clips on my memory card on my phone. It says there are none there when there clearly is as they are there to watch on the phone. Please help. Thanks.

i think i found a solution for your problem this method seems to detect videos from device since you already can view them on device but not on computer.
Store images and videos from device to PC
Open the main window of Nokia PC Suite and select Store images application.
The first time you connect a new device you need to create some settings. Select Next to continue when the settings wizard appears.
Select whether you want to store images or videos or both and continue by selecting Next.
Choose a folder for storing the new images and videos and select Next to continue.
Define the operation after storing:
Erase images and videos from the phone.
View images and videos.
Automatic storing – Choose this one if you want to start image storing automatically when you connect your device to the PC.
Select Next to continue and Finish to close the settings wizard.
Next, you can see the main view of the application. It shows you how many items on the device need to be stored.
Select Store Now to start the transfer.

Problems downloading videos

I can download songs with no problem and used to be able to download video but can no longer download video. It says "the file may be corrupt" for all video files purchased from the ITunes store. I have removed and re-installed ITunes with the same result. Any ideas?

Probably not. Unfortunately, you are probably using the decicated "Movie to iPod (320x240)" export option. While this encoder provides the highest quality in the smallest space, it does so at the cost of lengthy encoding time. If you are comfortable entering your own settings, you can cut this time in half by using the "Movie to MPEG4" export option using the H.264 "Baseline" profile 1-pass mode. (The MPEG4 encoder is even faster but at the cost of quality at the same video data rate or at the cost of larger files if the same quality is to be maintained.)

Problems downloading video from camera

I am unable to download video of more than two minute duration from my Panasonic DMZ-FZ5. While photos download, video snippets ranging from 2 - 30 minutes stubbornly remain on the same memory card. I now have three memory cards (all reputable brands - Kingston) filled with video which will not transfer to iphoto 5 library. Any solutions?

Connect the camera, turn it on, look for the icon on the desktop, open it, find the movie files, drag them to the desktop, open iPhoto go file -> import to library?

Problems downloading video from Canon Vixa HV30

I have a Canon Vixa HV30. When I try to download video filmed on this camcorder in LP to Final Cut Express it will not allow me to capture it (I can play but cannot capture). Is it because the format is LP instead of SP? Any suggestions on what I need to do?

Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate you giving me more information than I got from the Final Cut Product Specialist on the Apple Care phone line. It's too bad that Apple in its promotion of the Canon HV30 (it's even shown in the tutorial on how to connect using a tape device), as well as MacWorld could not have provided the information you gave, and that neither site mentions a basic fact that you need to buy FW cable as well.
Regarding Final Cut Express 4. It seems to me that the information about connecting to an external drive and 32K preset should have been included in the Apple Certified Final Cut Express 4 book by Diana Weynand.

Help: Problem with video driver/profile???

This is an unusual problem. I work on a Mac running OSX (10.3.9). I have InDesign CS installed. I downloaded the Adobe InDesign CS2 compatibility update and installed that. Once I did that my computer screen became unusually contrasty to the point where all my icons were blown out and the type became very faded and sketchy. I believe my video driver/profile has been affected. It goes away when I create a new user, so it isn't my monitor. Don't know if the download has anything to do with my problem, but that is when it started. Any ideas?

Thanks Niel. You hit the nail right on the head. I opened the System Preferences and adjusted the contrast in the Universal Access pane. Everything is back to normal. I had accidentally hit the short cut keys to adjust the contrast in my search for short cut keys in In Design. Thank you so much. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Problem downloading videos onto PC from 4s

Hi,
I filmed two long videos (one more than a half hour, one almost an hour and a half) on my 4S and now I can't seem to download them onto my PC. When I try to use the camera wizard the videos don't even show up now, but they're still in my photo album.
Is there another piece of software that would help with this problem? I really need to get the videos and free the space on the phone up.

You can look for a different downloader, I know they exist but I've never bothered to use them. One thing you can do instead is use Safari, go to the Window menu item when something starts to play, and select Activity. You'll see a line where the size keeps increasing as the video loads (it will also have a size in MBs rather than KBs, as the other items listed do). You used to have to hold the option key and double click that line, but you might get it to download with a simple double click these days. It will go to wherever you have Safari set to download things, and will be named "videoplayback.flv"--you'll want to rename it.
Personally, I just take the cached download that YouTube sends automatically and drag it to the desktop and rename it and give it the flv extension, but it's a wee bit difficult to explain how to do that, since the item will have an address sort of like this:
/private/var/folders/Rv/RvRzJO5dHda62tPNz4CIxk+++TI/-Tmp-/TemporaryItems/FlashTm p0
Since the /private folder is invisible, and most of the rest of the path's named items will vary from computer to computer, even user to user, it makes it a bit complex to explain. Try the Activity window method, that should work just fine.

Why can't i download apps since i updated to i06, i log in with password .am then asked for three security questions fill this out click done and get the answer timed out try again, what is causing this please help.

Settings>General>Reset (at the far bottom)>Reset All Settings
That will ALWAYS work for the "3 Security Questions - Timed Out problem". No data will be lost, but your network settings will be reset.

Problem downloading video

I recently wanted to download an episode of a TV show from
4OD, the on demand site for channel 4 in the UK. I first had to
download the 4OD software. Halfway through the installation process
I got this message:
error 1904 module windows\system32\macromed\flash\flash9.ocx
failed to register. HRESULT -2147220473
I then tried to download theTV episode which stopped halfway
through with this message:
Unrecoverable Kontiki error
This is the response I received from 4OD:
1. This issue has been around since Flash 7, and 4oD had not
been released at that stage.
2. The issue surrounds over-writing previous versions of the
flash 9.ocx file.
3. This file cannot be registered because the previous file
has read only permission.
4. Adobes forums are full of people with this issue, most of
which are from the online gaming community and not customers of
4oD.
5. The reason why you are having problems now is because our
site requires a flash upgrade rather than using the flash
version that you already have installed.
I have deleted the 4OD and the Flash software, re-installed
them several times (manually as well) and still have exactly the
same problem.
Does anyone have any idea please how I resolve this. I should
add that I am not a very technical computer user on such issues.

Problem downloading video for my new 30 gb iPod

Appreciate help - problem downloading Camera Raw 6.7

PS Bridge (CS5) would not read my Canon XG1 Raw files and it told me to update CR - I tried to update Camera Raw and it said it was downloading 6.7 and 6.8 but that there was an error in the download and it couldn't/wouldn't install it. It pointed me here for help. Would appreciate any advice you can give, thanks.

I see a Canon G1 X and a G1 X Mark II listed no XG1. Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras If you have a G1 X ACR 6.7 should work and is the newest version of ACR that CS5 can use.

Help - problems downloading & installing

I'm trying on 2 different computers to download & install
the Fireworks trial version. The computer at the store is running
WinXP Pro SP2 and has a dsl connection. Even though everything else
is closed, I can't get this program to download without it hanging.
My computer at home is newer, running Vista Home Basic. Also
a dsl line. I can get it to download, it looked like it installed,
it rebooted, but when I clicked on the icon to try it out it went
into install mode again. It said it was repairing shared files. It
hung and I bailed.
Is this typical?? I'm not thinking too fondly of this
software right now if this is how it behaves. ;-)

Well here is what I am thinking you did wrong. By any chance was that an MP3 file from a popular music artist? Well if it is, there is your problem. It has a very clear name to that problem, its called stealing. Buy off iTunes, the quality is so much better. Anyways I wouldn't use any programs like Limewire if you paid me. I have constantly heard complaints from people whose computers are messed up/slow ever since they started. It is no good.

To see the video files require the realplayer, which i have installed. I have also
Flip4Mac and Perian installed.
When i click on the links, the realplayer opens and plays the video. But there is no command for a download.
How can i download these files to my hard drive?

The latest version of RealPlayer include RealPlayer Downloader, which also serves to tell you if the video is available for download or not.
