Help! Problems printing on legal with CS5 on Toshiba e6530c

Hi,
I am having an issue printing on legal (8.5x14) paper on my Toshiba eStudio 6530c. When I print using the PS3 driver (I verified that it is the most up to date driver) 5.10.89.0 my prints end up as letter (8.5x11) size. When I print using the PCL6 driver my legal prints are legal prints.

I am interested in this issue. We are using CS3 and a Toshiba 3510c. Paper size is one of many, many errors that I get trying to print from InDesign. We are upgrading to CS5 and Windows 7 in October, and the Toshiba dealer is going to move us to a 4520c because they can't solve our printing problems. Before we sign the 3-year lease, I would like to know that these will work together.

Problems printing out of PS CS5 with Epson 4800 using latest epson driver

This is my first post here at the forum.
Has anybody experienced the following:
While printing out of Photoshop CS5 12.0.1 with an epson 4800, using the latest driver (6.65), the following happens:
Around the document, the printable space is filled with a very light colour.
(If I print an emty canvas, the canvas will not be printed - as expected - but around, the paper shows ink.)
I already talked to Epson about the issue.
We went through the whole printer reset, to make shure it´s not a driver issue)
The picture shown is printed several (5-6) times to better see the problem.
I did not select to print a background in the print dialogue.
Does not matter if PS 32bit or 64 bit is used.
OS is Snow Leopard 10.6.4
(Rosetta is installed, but should not be needed)
So, has anybody had similar problems?
Is there a solution?

Look at this new driver update.. Will test as soon as my new cartridges arrive..

Problems printing from PS with an Epson printer in Win2K

Advanced tab. Down in the bottom right hand corner is an option called "Enable advanced printing features". You need
to disable this function and the printer will run correctly

Ive just purchased a Pixma 5000 primarily for its direct CD printing, and was understandably surprised when Canon informed me that the CD printing software shipping with the printer still hasnt been updated for Tiger.
Short of sending the printer back, I purchased Disclabel software from Smileonmymac. It works very well, and is significantly better than the bundled application, working in a very iApp sort of way. (This isnt an advert, by the way, I just though it might put some people out of their misery)

I have just installed Leopard, but the Lexmark X5470 printer I already had has stopped printing!? It will scan and clean the heads, but what ever i try i cannot get it to print???
I looked around the internet for a solution, and I found out that you could install the needed drivers from the Leopard installation disk. But after trying this it still would not print??
Please can someone let me know how i can get this to work?

Problem printing in illustrator with my epson r1900

Hi, all. I recently bought an epson r1900. Tried to print out some images and types with my r1900 in either illustrator or photoshop. The images printed allright, but all my types is getting some "pixelated edges" when its not a stright line...the edges are not smooth at all...no matter when the type is 12pt or 72pt... But on the other hand, when i convert the document to a jpeg and print with "Preview" the problem sloved... it does have a solid edges type... why is that?? i did have lots of experence with my pervious epson 1280,2200,and 2400 but i never got this problem before....can you guys help me with it??

Wingyluk, were you ever able to find a way around this problem? Any driver download or RIP app that works with this printer? I have the same problem. However, I had the same problem a few years back with my older CS3 and older mac and somehow it ended up working (can'y for the life of me remember). Now that I have upgraded I am faced with the problem again.

Problem printing from LR2 with HPZ3100 in XP.

Lots of issues!
1. Can't get LR2 to colour manage print - keeps defaulting back to printer management as far as I can see.
2. Can't get a printer preview even though I am careful to tick the right box.
3. LR2 throws me out of printer utility (unavailable/off-line) until I restart.
No problem with PS or other apps (unless I visit Lightroom first): always had good screen to print match up to now so v frustrating.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Help! Arabic language issues with CS5

Hi there
We are a clothing company situated in the West of Ireland who are currently producing brochures in 10 languages. We work from a central database into which all the languages are input and then, via InDesign CS2, they all flow into a master template and each language brochure is then produced. This has worked fine up to now, as we were using cyrillic based languages. However, we are now looking at producing brochures in Arabic, Russian and Chinese.
However, we're focusing on Arabic first.
We were advised by our mac dealership, that the CS5 suite would give us the functionality we needed for the 'Right to Left' Arabic content etc. I know InDesign ME is geared specifically for Middle Eastern languages, but we were under the impression that the CS5 suite would suffice and that there are scripts etc that can be added to InDesign that might solve the layout problems. I can import the data and flow all the text into the document, but we're stumbling on the rtl functionality.
Anyone got any helpful suggestions on our best way forward?

If this is a one-off project, look at the scripts that turn on the World-Ready Composer.
If you will be handling RTL stuff on any kind of regular basis, I'd recommend World Tools from In-Tools. I use it all the time; it's brilliant.
Neither of these is going to free you from the necessity of having someone skilled in Arabic layout and typography on staff. Latin and Cyrillic are close enough to one another for someone skilled in Latin-script layout to learn how to do well without too much retraining; this is not the case with Arabic.

Printer not working with CS5?

Well the printer, 2400 Epson, used to print ok with CS, but I'm clicking print and nothing is happening.
I know the printer and cables are ok becuase it's printing fine with Image Print rip. any ideas? thanks.

can you be more specific with your problem? when you go to page setup, does it "pick up" your printer? could you post some screenshots please? i don't want to shoot around in the dark, so I think some pictures might help us all.

Help: Problem Inserting CLOB-data with ODBC

I have searched this forum for my problem and found only one similar message, unfortunately without reply. I hope there are some wizards present here today who can help me.
I use Perl and the ODBC driver for 8i (v8.1.5., WinNT) to insert and query data from a tabel with a CLOB. Queries go fine (although you have to increase the buffer size within Perl, but I have a problem to insert values into CLOBS.
I get the message ORA-1704 shown below. Oracle/ODBC seems to think that i want to insert into a VARCHAR2(4000) instead of
a CLOB.
I have included my Perl test-script as well.
Any suggestions are very welcome,

We can't directly insert into a column
which is a clob datatype.To insert data into
the CLOB datatype column we have to write
some PL/SQL progam using the package DBMS_LOB
in oracle.
Read Oracle documentation for more information on DBMS_LOB package.

Has anyone encountered problems printing after updating with OSX 10.6.8?

I have never had this problem before as I now get a repeated "printer paused" message. Help!

I downloaded and installed the 10.6.8 Combo this morning and immediately thereafter when I tried printing a document on my OfficeJet Pro 8500 from HP the system paused for two minutes and THEN printed the document. I tried printing several other documents with the same result. However, I then shut down and restarted my iMac, and when it had finished rebooting, I tried printing again and the pause in the system for printing was gone. Problem solved!

Problem printing thru network with new 8500A all-in-one

I installed a new Officejet pro 8500a plus on my network. I have 3 computers on the network set up this way: DSL modum connected to Linksys router, all 3 computers connected to the router, PRINTER is connected to main COMPUTER and other 2 computers print through the main computer.
I installed the printer sucessfully and ran the HP network wizard following the dialogs for connecting through another computer. I can print, and fax fine from the main computer but not from the other computers. I configured the printer as "shared" on the main computer and the other computers recognize the printer and set it as the default printer. But when I try to print form the other computers nothing happens. When I go into control panel - printers - properties - ports on the main computer, the printer is listed as USB002 but when I click on "configure" I get "An error occured during port configuration. This opperation is not supported".
Main computer is running Windows Vista with current updates
Other computers are running Windows XP SP2 with current updates.
Any ideas?

Why are you using Windows print sharing with your nice network printer? This mode only supports printing, not scannning or faxing. The better way to do this is to attach the printer to your router with Ethernet or wirelessly so that all PCs (regardless of how they connect) can use all of it's features. Disconnect the USB cable and run the Wireless Setup Wizard (if you want to connect it wirelessly, otherwise, plug the Ethernet cable in to the printer and router) from the front of the printer (Setup >Network menu), then run the HP software to "Add a Device" on each PC.

Problem printing to pdf with marks & bleeds on from cs4

When i check 'All printer's marks' on the print dialog screen the preview whites out and i get error message 'the pages selected to print are all blank'.
Does anyone know why this is?

You are right one artboard I do not know what I was thinking.
I have seen the problem once posted here before, but I cannot recall
the cause and cure.
But you can try copying the artwork to a new document saving that
document with a new name and then see if it is still happening.
You might try to do a search on the forum for your problem.

Problems printing to PDF with Acrobat 7.1.0

I'm trying to print a document into PDF file; however the size of this document should be around 31 pages. After 10 pages, I'm asked to save the next 10 as a different file. Which settings to I need to adjust to print everything into one PDF file instead of 3 or 4 separate ones?

Never had such a problem. It may be that your pages are very large or something, but I have never heard of the result you are getting. What is your application and exactly what steps (windows, etc) are you taking to create a PDF. It helps if we can try to replicate your problem.
I regularly create documents that approach 100 pages, so the 10 page issue is not the norm.
