Help!!! Problems with disappearing subclips in Browser

Hello all,
I'm going crazy because clips are disappearing in the browser window, I'm just not sure why. Here's what I'm doing:
I captured 6 DV tapes worth of material (in their entirety), used DV Stop/Start Detect to set markers, highlighted all the "marker clips" and made them "subclips". I then renamed and divided all the subclips into 9 different Bins. My usual workflow for years, right?
Some of these tapes had anywhere from 50 to 75 shots (subclips) on them, however, when I open the bins, I only see 25 to 40 of the clips at any given time. This number seems to change depending on the number of other bins I have open.
For example, I can open the original captured 1 hour clip, see markers 1-75, but when I open the corresponding subclip bin, I only see 1-40.
Any clue why this is happening? I'm using FCP 6.0.5 on a MacBook Pro 2.5, with a Lacie Big Disk Extreme.

You know, this might actually be a bug worth reporting or putting in the feedback folder, whatever the process is around here. I just came across this on a piece I was working on a few weeks ago. If a bin has more than about 40-50 items in it, what ever is at the bottom just is not available,. You can't scroll to those items, they might as well not be there. It was quite frightening till I realized everything still exists, I just can't get to it.
I think I made another bin and moved or cut and pasted (or something) all off screen items into the new empty bin. Sorry, I cannot recall what I did.

HELP/Problems with pull-down navigator bar

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if I could get some input. I have just
re-designed our magazine's site, www.easternsurf.com
I used Pop-Up menu function in Fireworks 8 to generate our
Navigator bar. For the most part everything has been working well,
BUT we've had a couple of complaints that the navigator bar's
pull-down menus get stuck behind the photos/banner ads/etc. instead
of in front of them when viewing in Internet Explorer. I'm on the
Mac platform (OSX Tiger/Macromedia Studio 8) and have seen no
problems viewing in Safari, Firefox and Netscape. The only
complaints have come from Internet Explorer users. A couple of
people updated their browser to the newest version and the problem
disappeared, however we've still had a couple of people that have
written in that the newest version of IE is still not displaying
properly.
Also we've got a strip of button ads running down the left
hand side of each page and I've also seen another issue that's
common on sites of this type...when the pulldown menu overlaps with
a Flash element, there is a problem with the screen re-draw. I've
seen this on several other sites and know it's a common problem,
but does anyone know of a workaround where this won't happen? I
just noticed that signing on to Adobe's site, there almost seems to
be a command where the menu keeps re-drawing at a very rapid rate
so this won't happen.
Any input would be greatly appreciated, although I'm Mac all
the way, we are a business and have to get this site visible for
everyone!

Please Perform a Battery Pull Restart like this While Device is Powered On remove the Battery wait for a min. then re-insert it back wait till the device take a long Reboot.And see if that helps.

Problems with invoke call in browser (SAP Business Connector)

Hallo,
I have a problem with the invoke call in a browser to test a build flow in the SAP Business Connector:
I build a flow which receives a XML file, converts it into a record, then adds some mandatory data to the segment "EDI_DC40", then reconverts it into XML. After that, the XML gets converted into SAP IDOC format. Then I send it via ALE service to the connected SAP System.
The flow works so far if I test it with the "send XML file" function in "Test" menu. But when I test it via a call in the browser, it doesn´t work. The mandatory data in "EDI_DC40" is there, but the Business connector does not recognize the data which comes with the XML for this segment ("MESTYP" and "SNDPRN") - so it can not be transfered to the SAP system. It causes a routing rule error, because sender and message type is unknown.
Does anybody has experiences with that? Is there a difference between browser call and the test function "send xml file"?

Hi,
Just debug your SAP BC service in which you are calling the RFC and check if proper values are getting mappend to your input variables of RFC.
If that is correct than there wont be much chances of problem in BC.

Problems with Acrobat 7.0 Browser document control

Hi,
I'm trying to write an application in C# which let to preview pdf doc and to print them. For this, I use the Acrobat 7.0 Browser document control but I have some problems with it:
I have a grid with some doc titles and when I select one of them, I want to preview it in the control and to print all the docs that I check.
The problem is that sometimes the control freezes when I'm go from one doc to another one. I think that is because the doc is yet open.
Maybe, to close the document will help but I don't find how to do this. there is no close method.
Another problem is when a document is opened with Acrobat Reader application. It's impossible to preview it in my application. And if I close the reader, my control become white and freeze.
What can I do for this?
The third problem is when I want to print the documents. I do a loop in my grid, get the full filename of any document and print it. But in the best case, just the first document is printed. I think that is because the loop is done faster that the print pool and so, some document are not taken by the acrobat print function. How I can get a status from the acrobat print status to know when continue in my loop?

It does sound like you are pushing the control in ways it may not be prepared to handle. Certainly, it isn't expecting to be printing a collection of documents - just one at a time.
Also, you mention that you are on Acrobat 7 - have you tried updating to 8 to see if that improves things?

Problem with flash banners in browser

I have a very frustrating problem with my browser (any browser) opening a flash banner. On my website we have a rotating flash banner and when I open it all four banners open at the same time. It happens on several pages, but not in every page with a banner. I have tried emptying my cache and turning off Kaspersky, but to no avail.
Does anyone know what could be happening???

my page is www.sojournfargo.org, but the page works on my wife's computer and the web designer's computer. I also can't see the banner on www.inforum.com where the news rotates.

Petteri, SWFObject is much better because it loads the JavaScript so you don't see it inside the HTML page, but it still wraps the swf in a div which by default will be positioned in the upperleft of the browser window.
This is the only way I've been able to center using SWFObject—note that it's the "flashcontent" div style that does the centering not the align embed parameter:

Problems with framerate - only in browser

I'm seeing an odd problem with my framerate in Flash, and I'm wondering if anyone here has seen something similar. (Sorry if this is a duplicate post - This feels significant enough that I'm positive I'm not the first one to ask about it, but checking the search, all I was able to find were threads over 2 years old, which didn't look related.) So here goes:
I'm working on a fairly interactive swf, and am noticing that the framerate appears FAR more choppy when I view it in a browser window than I do if I run it through the debug environment or as a stand alone player.
Here's my situation:
My movie's framerate is 30 fps.
Running it in the Dev environment, the flash player, or in a standalone player all runs fine. Perfectly smooth.
Running it in a web page, it looks very choppy.
According to the MOVIE, it is running at full speed. (I have a framerate counter in the corner, and even in a web browser, it never wavers.)
(Here's where it gets weird) If you move the mouse over the movie.... just move it, doesn't have to click or anything....then as long as you are actually MOVING the mouse... the framerate turns normal. So if you're willing to sit and constantly move the mouse, it plays normally.
So. What does this mean? Well, the short term answer is that my swf runs choppy unless someone sits and keeps the mouse moving at all times. But beyond that, it looks like it means that the flash player in a browser window behaves very oddly. the CPU can obviously keep up with my movie, since when I move the mouse around, it goes at the intended speed. It seems like it just isn't updating as fast as it is telling Flash it is updating. Or rather, it is letting the Flash virtual machine hum along at whatever speed it wants to think it is running at, but is only bothering to actually update the window on its own schedule, or when it receives a mouse event?
I've uploaded a simple test file (and html page) as an attachment here. On my machine, at least, there is a very noticable difference in how smooth the box's movement is, depending on if you are moving the mouse or not. All of my tests are being performed under the latest version of FireFox (3.0.11) and using the latest flash player plugin. (10,0,22,87) The swf was built using CS4, etc.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Has anyone seen this before?
Part two of my question of course is "how do I fix it?" Is there something I can do in my html file to force the plugin to update more frequently, so that none of my precious, precious frames are lost to the user? Better still would be if there were something I could do in my swf file to make this happen?
Anyone know of such a thing I could do?

Hi Mathonwy,
As you probably know, the swf speed will depend on many factors: the computer's strength, what browser is being used (some take up more juice than others), what else is running at the same time, etc. It is always slower than when swfs are ran from the stand alone player.
However, this thing you are experiencing with "moving the mouse" is indeed weird, since it should be the opposite, meaning that moving the mouse actualy takes up some juice, a tiny little bit.

the other hand,
another domain user

"menganito" with it's mailbox "[email protected]" account, also has a few mail accounts "[email protected]", "[email protected]", " [email protected]"
...having
as default email "[email protected]
The user "Comercial" is forwarding
all of it's mails to the user "menganito".
The problem is that "menganito" is not receiving the exact
"comercial"
sender email, but the email which appears by default ("[email protected]").
"Menganito" would like to know
from which email exactly the mails he is receiving have been sent ("[email protected]",
or "[email protected]"
or "[email protected]").
Also, he would like to knowthe email of the original sender (from the outside of the domain) whom the user "Comercial"
have received the email from.
In another type of email servers (Kerio,...)
this is not a problem, because forwarding by
defaultis always showing
the original sender and original receiver.
Maybe the problem comes from the recipient type I'm using.
Should I use another type of recipient? should I use a transport rule?

the print command doesn't work, nothing is printed or just the first doc.
I think that is because the doc is locked by the acrobat process, but I don't know how to close it. I don't want to kill the acrord32.exe process because I also open pdf doc with acrobat reader at the same time.

Problems with norwegian letters when browsing samba share.

When I'm browsing my samba share from my ArchLinux workstation, files in the share with norwegian letters are not shown correct. This applies both from aterm and konqueror.
But if I use a Windows XP/2000 machine, everything is shown like it is suppose to do with norwegian letters.
The samba server is also running ArchLinux. On my workstation I'm using Enlightenment as windowmanager.
Is this a problem with my samba server or with my linux workstation? What can I do to fix it?

It seems like it's not only the ArchLinux workstation that displays the norwegian letters wrong. The only machine that shows this correc is the machine that created the file/catalogue.
It seems like the windows 2000 displays the cataloge created by windows XP just fine.
