Help, published site not updated

Hi,
I published it and the links don't work, plus photos are scattered on the open house page. the links work on the Our Team site, but not on the welcome page.
Everything works and is set properly in iwork 08.
www.hellomarty.com

your hand made bottom navbar is in the body_layer but is is behind footer_layer, and that won't work because of z-index. see my post about z-index:
http://discussions.apple.com/click.jspa?searchID=-1&messageID=7431333
hand made navbar this is a pit fall ever since iweb1:
http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=6550436#6550436
you need to move your hand made navbar from behind footer_layer, try to change page 'content height' to something smaller (in Inspector --> Page --> Layout settings)...
or change z-index with javascript...
or scrub all the above and build the bottom navbar with a widget (notice the navbar get duplicated):

javascript is linked to my example.

  • Re Creation of Site Assets Library after Publishing site Title update

For some reason we don't need Site Assets library in publishing site so we have decided to delete that. But after Publishing site Title update Site Assets Library is getting re created . What would be the possible reason for that . Whether Publishing
feature is getting reactivated whenever title is getting updated.

    Hi Ashish,
SharePoint Designer has the setting "Hide from Browser' to hide the List/Library from browser.
It only restrict the user to view the List/Library links from browser, but if user directly use the URL to reach that List/Library and the user can edit or add new items.
Better set the ready only permission to users and set the "Hide from Browser" to the Site Assets library through SharePoint Designer.
Follow the steps to hide the Site Assets Library through Designer:
In Site Object Section, Select Lists and Libraries
Select Site Assets Library on right side, it's navigate to List Settings
In List settings-> General Settings, Uncheck option “Display this list on quick launch”. [This is necessary], Check the “Hide from browser”.
    Save the list.
Now the links are hidden from SharePoint Site in browser.
Follow the steps to Unhide the Site Assets Library through Designer:
    Open SharePoint designer 2010.
Click the “All Files” folder at the bottom in left pane.
Right click your hidden list from “All Files -> Lists” folder and choose property.
Now you have your hidden list open in SharePoint Designer.
In List settings-> General Settings: Uncheck the “Hide from browser” and save.
Now the links are visible in SharePoint Site.

I've just started using the App Tabs. I think this feature could be handy but why are the sites not updated when I start Firefox. Now I have to manually update the site which is somewhat of a downer. Does any of you know where I'm going wrong?

To answer the post title FireFox save all downloads automatically in the download folder, which you can find in the Documents folder. If you want to choose where to save your downloads go to tools>options>check always ask me where to save files.
Secondly, I am assuming you have IE 8 installed as this is the only version that supports this fix that is currently not in beta. Go to control panel>internet options>advanced tab and reset the settings at the bottom. This may or may not fix the problem but it is a good first step.

  • Site not updating?

I've created a site on iWeb which post to an ftp address. I made some changes, the pages show up red (to show changes have been made), and the Publish Site arrow at the bottom become accessible. However, when I go ahead and Publish nothing gets updated. It does go through the process, then pages turn back to blue and it says my site has been update, but it hasn't. Help! Thanks

Have you cleared your cache in your browser?
Sometimes the site is updated but your browser does not reload the new files.

    Hi Scott,
I see that you have added the domain to your site however the DNS is still pointing to the old host.

  • Why is my published site not operational when using Firefox or IE?

The original problem I experienced had to do with the fact that my published site's navigation bar was totally missing on each page and replaced with a "period" as described by the following thread... http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9899999&#9899999
The weird thing is that this problem only exists when using IE or Firefox on a PC (at work). Site is 100% operational using Safari on a Mac (at home).
Thinking my iWeb files were corrupt, I uninstalled and reinstalled iWeb '08. After doing so, I republished my site. The good news: the nav bar is now present on each page and operational. The bad news: my photo pages and blog page have zero content other than the header banner and nav bar. Again, this problem only exists when accessing the published site using IE or Firefox on a PC. The site is fully operational and all photos/blog entries present when accessing the site using Safari on my Mac.
What gives? Did a recent iWeb update (intended for iWeb 09 users or intel-based macs) corrupt my iWeb '08 on my PowerBook G4?

Please note that Java and Javascript are not related. iWeb uses a lot
of Javascript, not Java. There may be some issues with the Javascript
generated by iWeb -- I don't know. If it seems to work for someone
and not for someone else then it is an issue at the browser end, not
the website end. Each browser may not be handling the Javascript in
exactly the same way. (You gotta love standards.)

  • Help! Podcast not updating - how do I fix this?

I have been asked to look into why our podcast (Without Limits Christian Center) is not updating in iTunes. I am not familiar with iTunes at all and to be honest the specs are a little like reading Greek at this point. The web address where our podcast is located is http://wlcconline.com/index.php/?/media/podcasts/.
I know we switched servers a while back with out web host (GoDaddy) from a Windows server to a Linux. Is that the problem? Can anyone give me any guidance on what might be going on and how to fix it - preferably in English and not tech language if that is possible. Thanks!!

    Roger,
Thank you so much for your help! It is beginning to make sense. I took a look at your site, and from what I'm reading there and in the technical specs for iTunes, it looks like I need to remove our podcast and resubmit it with your new URL, since our old one is no longer accessible at all.
Could you help me with one more thing? I believe our new URL would be the one below, does this look right to you? It goes to the page where our podcasts are now located. I checked with our web host, and they believe it is right, but they don't have any iTunes experience, so thought I'd check with you as well.
Also, would take any hints you have on removing the podcast and resubmitting for a new one. Our developer did it for us last time, but I'll be doing it this time so that part is new as well.
Thank you again for your assistance; GREATLY appreciated!!

  • Safari Top Sites Not Updating

My Top Sites is not self-updating. I no longer get the 'star' notice when a web page has been changed and the image shown on Top Sites is from my last visit to the site.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks.

I'm having the same problem with the Top Sites thumbnails not updating themselves (without having to manually visit the site). It had been working, but now it has not for a couple months. I forget if it coincided with updating Safari to 4.0.5 or not; it seemed like it was right around that time.
I should also mention that my internet connection and setup have remained consistent from the time that it was working to now. I am not behind a firewall or proxy of any sort.
(Note to Jared_Dub: The blue star is shown on thumbnails that you placed there manually as opposed to your most visited pages which Safari automatically places. It has nothing to do with showing you if there have been changes to the page or not. Just thought I should clarify that point.)

  • Publish site NOT using MobilMe

    Hello,
I am working on a site in iWeb for a school project. My teacher wants to se the process of the creation and I want to upload it manually on the Internet. Is this possible? Because of now when I press "Publish site" I get some stupid message up saying I have to pay etc...

Depending on the version you use, publish to a folder and use an ftp app to upload to your webserver.
In iWeb 08 it's in the File menu.
Or use iWeb 09 ftp built-in to do so.
    Click the Sitename.
And browse this forum. It's discussed every day. You can also look to the right to see more of this.
Or simply wait for these answers to be delivered to you.

  • Help please apps not updating ipad 2

every time i try to update my apps on ipad 2 it says unknown error and then just shuts down the app i have done a full reset and a full restore?? no idea what to do?? help

Hey had the same issue with both my iPad and iPhone 4...What you need to do is delete the apps that are not updating, typically say "waiting", then re-download them in the app store. You will not be charged again. But they will download with the updated version.

  • I am a podcaster; the podcasts I publish are not updating in the Podcast app.

I am a podcaster, and my listeners complain that my podcasts are not updating in the Podcast app.
The podcasts are updating without incident on RSS, in the iTunes store, and on other services, such as Stitcher.  I have tested my RSS feed and it seems to be OK.
But the last 5 podcasts in the Podcast App are all the same sound file, even though the text surrounding the sound file updates with each new weekly episode.
Any ideas how to fix this?

    Hello
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
    Using Game Center
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4314
If the issue persists, or certain features of a game aren't working as expected (leaderboards, achievements, and so on), use the App Store to report the problem to the developer
    Best of luck,
    Mario

You need to upgrade to iWeb 09 to have that feature.
In iWeb 08 you publish to a folder and use a free ftp app like cyberduck to upload.

  • Delete old Iweb published site not saved

Hi Team, My compter crashed and I have a published website, but I dont have a backup of the files that created it. I have heard you cant download all of it and I have to start again. First, you could look at this page for help in retrieving stuff......
    http://iwebfaq.org/site/iWebBackupretrieve.html
If you rebuild the site with the same name and publish it to MobileMe, you will overwrite the original or you can go to Finder/Go/iDisk/My iDisk/Web/Sites and delete the website folder and the index.html file.

  • Slide Site Not Updateing in Other Users Views

I have created a slide site with 100's of slides. Everyslide has an "owner" assigned to it so people can filter for the slides they are responsible to update. When I view the site I can see all the "owners" in the filter
list that I have assigned and are supposed to be there, in the contributors views they can only see a few names, some of them which actually don't have slides in the deck.
After uploading slides, I used Edit in datasheet view to update the "owners".
    Any thoughts?

    Okay,
I think I have figured out the real issue here. In just about every other viewer the table that the materialized view or snapshot dumps to is viewable through the list of tables. It does not seem to be doing that in Raptor. Why we are not seeing the m.views or snapshots is that we give the select grants to the table object. (oops?)
While I see the logic for separating them out, I think it would be a smart idea to be able to see the tables for the m.views and snapshots in the table list instead of filtering them out. I am sure we are not the only ones who does the grants in the method that we used.

  • Site not updating link changes.

I had changed the name of one of my html pages, but didn't update the links that pointed to that page so the destinations were wrong.  After I corrected the link destinations I uploaded the changes but when I visit my site and click on the links I get an error page because the links are still trying to take me to the old name html page.  In dreamweaver the links are correct.  What am I not doing?  Thank you.

The first of those two is linking to : http://myrapworld.net/UndergroundReviews.html
which does not exist.  If that is not what it should be linking to, and your revised file shows something different, then your revised file did not make it to the server yet.  If that is the correct page to link to, then you either have a typo in the filename or you haven't uploaded the linked page as yet.  I didn't bother checking the other except to see that it is also missing.
One thing for that first link... you should not stick tags between anchor tags as you did....  they can be tempermental about that at times.
    <h3><a href="UndergroundReviews.html">Underground Rap Reviews<br />
          <br/>
        </a></h3>
    would be better done as...
    <h3><a href="UndergroundReviews.html">Underground Rap Reviews</a><br />
          <br/>
    </h3>
