Help quick with backing up!
iTunes says that an error has occured while backing up my ipod..... and if i want to continue. Will restoring my ipod delete my itunes library on my computer? Please answer quick :S
If the error is with the iPod then no, you won't lose the music on your PC.

hi im trying to back up only my photos onto icloud and ive copied all my previous images from the icloud and put them on my computer but it now says that it cant back up 'cos i need an additional 3.7gb. is there any way of saving the first 5gb of photos first? and then doing the 3.7 afterwards? please help thanks Haidee
The easiest way to put your photos in large numbers onto your computer is to connect the iPad to it with a USB cable and import them into your photo software.

Can someone help me with backing up my iphone over wifi then restoring it?
basically i wanted to download the new ios 8 on my iphone 5c, i did not have enough memory and was unable to get onto a laptop/pc. i went onto settings>icloud>storage&backup>back up over wifi. i enable back up over wifi so when connected to wifi it will automatically back up, anyway after enabling this i pressed back up now and it backed my iphone up. i then started to delete apps and PHOTOS to get enough space, i then was able to get onto a laptop and tried to restore my iphone but it would not let me . it said i had to download ios 8 first then it would restore my device so i tried this and it will not download the new update, i still dont have enough memory to download the update but i do not want to delete more photos if i will be un able to get them back.
basically if i delete more photos to make enough space for ios 8, and then restore my iphone will i get all of the photos, apps and games i had before i started to delete them (baring in mind i did back up my iphone over wifi)

Help - probs with back-up and HD free space
I've surprisingly run out of disk space and keep doing so regardless of how much I jettison. I ran a utility to find out where all the space is going and I discover my LIBRARY-BACKUP is taking up an amazing 40GB.
Is it just my ipad and iphone backing up? I deleted a bunch of videos from the ipad but that didn't make a difference.
Any suggestions on what I can do?
Can I set my ipad to back up to an external drive?
Anyone?*HD saving tips:*
Empty the trash!
Open up your application folder & go through all your apps. Trash all the apps you no longer want and/or use.
An easier way to do this is to open the Application folder in list view & press the Command+j keys.
In the the dialog that appears, click the "This Window Only" button & the "Calculate All Sizes" check box.
Wait a bit until your file & folder sizes have all been calculated, then click the "Size" column to sort your apps from the fattest to the most anorexic.
Get rid of all your photo files you don't want and/or need. Same goes for those pics off the websites you downloaded (gifs, jpegs, etc.).
Get rid of all your music files you no longer listen too. Especially, if you already have the actual CD/DVDs or you can later redownload from a website.
Use Spotlight to make sure you got rid of everything. You can even trash directly from Spotlight!
Drag what you don't want and/or need to the trash. Better yet, download this neat little shareware app demo called AppZapper. It basically does all the work for you by not only trashing the apps but the apps preference files, caches & all its associated files.
Another software that does the above is AppDelete. Best of all this software is free!
Burn what you want and/or need onto CDs or DVDs.
Not everyone has the luxury of purchasing an external HD and/or Mobile accounts to store their "stuff.”
You can check with your ISP to see if they offer free storage space. Most if not all do now-a-days.
There are thousands if not millions of free storage facilities on the web also. Use your favorite search engine to search them out as they come in different storage sizes to fit your needs & wants.
Check for duplicate fonts.
Applications>Font Book
Select “All Fonts”
If you see any “black dots” next to any fonts this mean you have duplicates and/or multiple versions of these fonts.
To clean this up, select a “black dotted” font or the Apple + click to select multiple dotted fonts;
Edit>Resolve>Duplicates.
What the above does is turns off the duplicates & multiple version fonts. Not delete them.
More than likely the “extras” were installed by other programs and/or other users.
Clear out font caches
Use FontNuke. It does all the work for you. And, best of all it’s FREE.
Printer Drivers
Get rid of all the printer drivers you don’t need & use except the ones for your current printer(s)/scanner(s).
HD>Library>Printers Folder
If you accidently threw something out that you needed for your printer/scanner it can be easily obtained from the manufacturer’s website and/or from the CD that came w/the printer/scanner.
Garage Band
Has about 1GB of loops stored. Get rid of some some them. You surely don’t use, like and/or need them all.
HD>Library>Audio/Apple Loops>Apple>Apple Loops For GarageBand
Or just get rid of the Garage Band app altogether if you don’t use it.
Get rid of extra languages
Strip your computer down to your “native” tongue.
You can do this with a FREE utility called Monolingual. Another app that apparently does all the work for you. I’ve never used it. However, a lot of users here swear by & recommend it highly.
However, there is a warning for *native English speakers*. Make sure you keep BOTH English and English (United States).

Hi, I have lost all iPad safari bookmarks. Have tried reset without erasing data and hold home and sleep button together but when go to safari all safari bookmarks still lost. Hi, I quitted Safari and press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons silmutaneously unti the Ipad turn off and on with the logo Apple appears but it has hanged on and fixed to the point. I do it again hold the Home and Sleep buttons silmutaneously and the Ipad turn off and on again with the Apple logo but it still is hanged on the same point. I have do it a few more time, it still hanged to the same point for few hours with no change (like picture):
I think my Ipad is fault now. I guess I must connect it to the computer with itune, or something. So my case is this: at the moment everytime I hold the Home and Sleep buttons the Ipad always off and reappear with the Apple logo and be hanged on (like the pic), and I need restoring my Ipad Safari bookmarks... so I guess I need using Itune or something to get back the Ipad then using Icloud or blah. Please guide me for the step, Im not sure if connect to PC, if any that my Ipad data would lost, or is there anyway that I also can get back Ipad Safari Bookmarks after connecting to PC, also the how using Icloud. I updated my Iphone4 and had the m.calendar app with all of my daily temperatures saved, since the update after even after synching the iphone to itunes I have lost months of tracking I am devastated!! can anyone help get it back
I don't understand this answer. What do you mean " your contacts should be in whatever program/service you have selected to sync."? The address book is created on the phone not in Itunes or any other program/service. When Itunes says backing up phone I have to assume it backs up everything on the phone. Most of what's on my phone does not come out of itunes. I download apps directly on the phone. When the software updates it does not bring those apps back. I have to go into the appstore and install them all over again. Itunes music library syncs with whatever is on the device your linked up to BUT the phone book just dissappears after you update the phone. There is no way to save it anywhere else.

Does the iPod connect to other networks?
If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still does not connect to any network that indicates a hardware problem.
If you only can't connect to your network that indicates a problem with your network.

all my pictures in iPhoto got deleted and i don't know how to get them back so could anyone help me with that ??
We do need more information to help. Are the images gone from your iPhoto library, or is the iPhoto Library missing? How and when did this happen?
If images are missing from the library: Did you check for hidden photos? Did you check the iPhoto Trash?
If the pictures are still in the iPhoto Trash, open the Trash, select the images and and press the liitle arrow in the lower right corner - select "Put back".
If the pictures are still in an "iPhoto" folder in the system Trash (with sub folders named by date), import these folders to your iPhoto library.
Have you checked, if you have opened the correct iPhoto Library? Launch iPhoto with the options key held down, to select another Library.
If the entire Library is missing, have you searched for ".photolibrary" with spotlight?
Do have a backup?
If none of these easy measures helps, report back with more details - your iPhoto version, and anything else that might be helpful to find out, what the problem is. Don't do anything that changes the contents of your hard drive for now.

Time could not backup message said the back up disk image "/Volumes/Data-1/......iMac.sparsebundle" is already in use.( the ..... is my name on the message)

Try the above.
No luck then you should do
A1 .. Load the widget so you know what TM is doing.
A4 .. Reset of TM.
A5.. Verify the backup.
First thing.. though.. do a full network reboot..
Turn off everything.. restart the modem.. wait 2min.
Restart the TC.. wait 2min
Restart the computer. See if it now functions.
You might have to reset or do more severe stuff.. but try with that.

I loaded what I guess is the new version of Firefox and it completely changed my whole task bar. I don't have my Norton Logins with stored passwords, and it's hard to find my favorites. Help get it back to how it was.

To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data. See https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+Firefox
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

I am not able to use dynamic groups with WLS 7.0 ? I am using iPlanet 5.1 version. I followed eveything that is specified in WebLogic documentation. According to documentation iPlanet dynamic groups are supported in WLS 7.0. Any clues ?
