Help! QuickTime used as Print Preview

How do I stop Quicktime 7.2 from being used as the Print Preview application? Everytime I print, it goes through Quicktime instead of Print Preview!!!

This is my vote of no confidence in Apple Tech Support. Before you read too far, here are the simple answers, none of which 3 different Apple techs were able to get after over 2 hours of hard phone time screwing up my system.
1) The application "Preview" should not be renamed, such as "Preview 3.0.9". This is the reason print previews went to Quicktime. How many other things has Apple not locked as system-critical? Not being allowed to name and organize my applications into folders the way I want anymore is hugely lame especially since they aren't locked otherwise.
2) An application called "File Merge" exists on your Mac OSX install disc 1 at Xcode Tools/Packages/DeveloperTools.pkg. This allows you to compare folders of your files (or the files themselves) to sort the mess when Apple screws it up.

3) A software application called "Pacifist" exists (VersionTracker.com?) which allows you to view and extract software from ".pkg" files, without doing a complete install.
Nope, instead Apple Support had me set Quicktime mime prefs to "Use defaults", (no effect), then Printer Setup Utility>Reset, which deleted all my printers and print profiles, and still had no effect on the problem.
At which point they had me run a total Archive & Install off the install discs. I knew at the time I should have run away kicking and screaming at this brute force one-size-fits-all answer to solving problems. I thought we only did system reinstalls to fix everything on Windoze systems? This took much longer than 2 hours so I had to call back the following day. Sure it solved the problem only because a "new" application named "Preview" was in the folder along with newly lamed "Preview 3.0.9" (which cannot save rotated .jpg files--maybe it can't save at all) and the old "Preview 2.1.0" (which has no problems saving files and was better before they "improved" it). If you needed a fresh copy of just this application, you could extract it from System/Installation/Packages/Essentials.pkg with the software above and not do an entire reinstall. Instead Windoze systems seem to be the Genius here in that they figure out something is missing, instruct the user to insert the install disc, auto-extract the missing piece alone, install it and then you're done.
After the reinstall, half of my stuff is in a "Previous Systems" folder (such as all my Desktop Pictures, Internet Plug-ins, Keychains, etc.) and half the stuff is incorporated into the new system. By the way, nothing is in the Previous System/Users folder which they kept puzzling over. And no, they had no clue that on that very same Install Disc of Disaster is the File Merge program to help sort out which of these million identical-looking folders contains my stuff.
On top of finding my stuff, I still have to redo all the software updates back to system 10.4.10 and the security updates and who knows how many MORE HOURS of computer maintenance.
They were really sales-pitching the AppleCare program every time I called. But why would I when I can spend hours reinstalling and reconfiguring software myself? I don't need a tech support line for that, I need people who know how their product works.

I cant' print using firefox. print preview won't display, won't print, printing dialog box won't display, etc

Seems like since I updated to firefox 5 I can't print web pages, print preview won't work. I click on the print option under file and nothing displays or prints.

Try the Firefox SafeMode and see if you can initiate printing from within Firefox.

If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one.

Why am I not able to use "selection" as a print range option when using the print preview feature? Is this facility available or am I doing something wrong?

Having seleted some text on a web page which is the only information I would like to print, I seem to be unable to preview what the printed page will look like using the "Selection" option in the Print Range section of the "Print" Menu from the Print Preview window. The radio button for "Selection" is not selectable!
I am able to do this using Internet Explorer, which is probably my main reason for using that browser but would like to use a similar feature in Firefox

To replace standard smartform by a custom form, to be used in PRINT PREVIEW

I have a requirement in CRM 2007 webUI. If we try to create a sales order, then we have a toolbar option button with title "PRINT PREVIEW". It uses the custom smart form "CRM_ORDER_CONFIRMATION_01.
I have to replace this standard form by a Z custom form. This form has soem additional data required for business needs.
Field technical details of the button is :
1. Component Name- BT115H_SLSO
2. View - SOHOverview
3. Context Node - THTMLB
4. Attribute- BUTTON_8
5. Role key - BP_POW_USR
6. Comp. Usage - CUBT Sales Order
7. Object Type - BT115_SLSO
Please reply as soon as possible.

To figure this out you need to do the following:
First determine the action profile for the transaction in question in the IMG.
CRM->Transactions->Basic Settings->Define Transaction Types
Display the detials of the transaction and you will see the action profile. Next copy that action profile by using transaction SPPFCADM. Then in the action defintion for the print action, replace the standard smartform definition with your z-form.
Finally go back into the transaction definition and assign the z-profile to your transaction type. Please note you should only do this with "z-transactions".
I'm not going to go into further detail as this is basic CRM configuration and is valid for all releases. Please look at the best practices guides, or do a search in the CRM General and Framework forum for further information on how to do the configuration steps.

Does the printer you get for free with the macbook work with airport....

There is an option, but it's a rather complicated process. If you feel you're up to the task, read on.
You can try using the hpijs driver. You won't get access to printer status or the card reader, but you can at least print over the network. In addition to downloading and installing the two packages from this page, you may have to download the PPD file for the 3100 from this page and install in the /Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/en.lproj folder (or the .lproj folder connesponding to your primary language). A new printer model called "HP Photosmart 3100 Foomatic/hpijs" will be available in the Print Using popup.
If Bonjour printing doesn't work, the process gets even more complicated: you may have to use the Advanced mode in the Printer Setup Utility to configure the printer for AppSocket/HP JetDirect printing to port 9100 of the Express. To get access to the Advanced settings, go through the motions of adding a printer in Printer Setup Utility but instead of selecting a printer from the browser, hold down the option key while pressing "More Printers...".
In the resultant dialog, select "AppSocket/HP JetDirect" from the Device popup, give the printer a name, enter a Device URI of "socket://<address>:9100". Replace <address> with either the Express's IP address or its Bonjour host name, which will be the Express's name with punctuation removed, spaces replaced by dashes, and ".local" appended. If you want to be sure to get the right address, use a utility like iStumbler to get the Bonjour host name (minus the ".local", which will still need to be appended). Finally, select the printer model and click on Add.

Print preview using Crystal Report

Hello All,
In SBO 8.8 or in 2007 with add-on (like B1UP) it is possible to have a cystal report launched by the preview buttons. It works perfectly when the document is stored in the DB, the preview is blanked if you don't have the document validated (created in SAP).
In PLD this functionnality is available with the screen variables, is there a way to have it in crystal report?

Question is : is it possible to use the print preview functionnality in crystal without creating a document in the database (as it is possible in layout designer) ?.
I know that the preview will work when I created the document in the DB.

With these changes I can only print a page the print preview capability has been taken away I use it all the time when wanting to print something from a website

When I was in a website and I wanted to print a page there use to be in the upper left hand corner of my screen a tab that said 'FIREFOX', I could click on that tab and I had several options, one was 'print' and 'print preview'. I use the print preview button all the time to see what the page would look like when I was printing and how many pages there were. I could then choose to print all or some of an article and adjust it to what I wanted to print. I no longer have that tab in the upper right hand corner. Now in the upper right hand corner is a tab for 'open menu', however in that menu is only a 'print' button. There is no option for 'print preview' and therefore I cannot adjust what I want to print. I also could adjust the margins, etc. from a view tab, that too I cannot find. I really hope there options are still available and how do I find them, where are they located?

In my updated firefox, the print button does NOT open print preview first.

Updation of table after Print and Print-Preview in smartform

I am having a requirement where i need to print multiple deliveries with the sales order data each delivery on a new page using smartform.
Now , i am using SSF_OPEN, SSF_CLOSE Fm's for the same. I need to update a Z table after the user clicks on PRINT from the pop-up or print from the print preview screen.
I tried using the output_info parameter in the smartform where i read from a post that the OUTPUTDONE parameter becomes "X" in the job_output_info when the user clicks print wither in the two ways said before.
This does not work out in case if the FM'S SSF_OPEN and SSF_CLOSE are used.
Kindly help me on the same.

yes i tried that..using the AT new event for a Delivery and then a command to go to the NEW PAGE, but somehow when i execuet the form, i could not see the layout..so in the debug i saw the subrc after the FM is run..it says SUBRC = 2 i.e. internal error. I am not able to figure that out.
So i had to use these open and close, nowi just want to update a z table if the user clicks on the print button (print preview screen) after using the print preview .

Hp laserjet pro 200 color mfp m276nw no print preview

Hello Folks,
I have windows 7 64 bit HP laserjet pro 200 color mfp m276nw and do not see a print preview option. Is there a way to get this? In Linux I use print to ps file and ghostscript to view. Our oldink jet had a print preview option. I did see a message for another printer that there is no solution. Any help would be appreciated.

You would have to use the print preview, from the application that you are printing from, under File, Print Preview.
Most applications have this feature.

Print & Print Preview in JSP application?

Hi,
I moved from swing to JSP. Trying to convert same Swing
application to JSP application.In the swing application I used
PRINT method in JPanel classes which implements PRINTABLE
interface to format and print the data to the printer. Also I
developed my own class to print preview the data(on a JFrame)
before sending to the printer. So, each screen had print and
print preview abilities.
Now I’d like to have this functionality in JSP application too.
Would appreciate to advice me if I could used same print preview
java class(developed for swing application) in JSP application.
If yes, please explain how. If No, please advice me how could I
have print and print preview ability in JSP application.

Adobe PDF Form print preview problem

I am new to Adobe PDF form. I have created one small form using the t-code SFP.
I am testing this form directly from the T-code SFP.
When i use the print preview to see the fom output it is givine me below exception.
"Device type unsuitable for ADS documents"
I am using the printer LOCL.
Can you please help me to rectify this problem.
I am not able to undestand why i am getting this error as i am new to ADOBE form.

i have a problem while using the print preview. the problem is im unable to see the print preview when i select the form and execute i dont know what is the problem. i have tried giving lp01 locl but it shows only plain page not only my z form but also for standard one .can any one help me in this regards.

Check the number of pages it is showing. I think you have selected the SAP Cover Page option and it is shoing an extra page at the start.

The Mozilla WHITE start page is blocking the upper left Firefox to Print to Print Preview, so i can not see what is on the Printer Glass

The BIG WHITE MOSTLY BLANK , MOZILLA START PAGE was blocking my use of PRINT PREVIEW, from the orange "Firefox" in the upper left corner.
I was told i was using an out of date version of Firefox.
But no "click here to update".
So i downloaded the new edition of Firefox.
And still, i can not see PRINT PREVIEW, because the large white screen of the MOZILLA START PAGE is blocking it.
I have selected a background wallpaper, so would rather not see ANY of the BIG WHITE START PAGE, at all !!

How to disable Purchase Order Print Preview function in the Portal

We wish to expose some purchase order functions in our SAP Portal 7.0. The problem is that when we run any of the purchase order transactions as SAPGUI for HTML, the Print Preview function displays the full purchase order. This means that any user who wishes to short cut processes can display and then print a purchase order before it has been approved if they use the Portal to display the purchase order.
If the purchase order transaction is run from the normal SAPGUI, the Print Preview function only displays the top of the purchase order and the print function is disabled. Has anyone tackled this problem before and worked out a way of stopping users from using the Print Preview function to display purchase orders in the Portal and then print them?
