Help re: reasons for/consequences of cache emptying
(On Mavericks 10.9.4), I want to submit a comment on csnba.com re: a column. After several failures of the site to accept the comment (msg: 'being moderated' or on FF, an error message). I called Comcast to get tech help they suggest emptying cache and 'resetting' (not sure if it means restarting, which I already tried).
I researched, found instructions to move cache folder from the Library Folder. Did that and re-tried to post. No joy.
I'm reluctant to trash the cache folder as I fear many things won't work as they have been working.
Is this a Mac issue, a Comcast issue, or something else? How to solve it?
I will appreciate your input.
Karen
It sounds like a problem with the website, not with your computer, but you can try the following.
From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. Test.

Reason for disabling browswer caching in Portal
Can someone tell me the technical reason for disabling browswer caching in Portal.
This is a big problem for our client who have central rollout of software and the corporate decision is to allow automatic browswer caching in IE 5.0.1.
Why does the Portal framework not generate the cache-control header directive to prevent the browser from using its caching facility? See http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec14.html#sec14.9.1 for more info on this.
Cheers,

Were you able to see the problem of medical record fraud that I have posted in this tread? Thank you for your help. -

CAD "Select reason for not ready" not appearing for some agents? Please help!
Hi all,
I have some users who when they click on 'Not Ready' in CAD (Cisco Agent Desktop) - they are not presented with the 'Select Reason for Not Ready' dialog box - it just goes straight to Not Ready.
I have searched high and low but have not found any suitable results (maybe I'm doing it all wrong?).
Anyway - we use CUCM

Works for some agents and not others. All the same Windows operating system.
Is there an individual setting which needs to be set on each user in CUCM or UCCX in order for this to be triggered?
I would've thought it was universal?
Cheers,
BrettAhhhh, spot on.
Can't believe I missed it...
Cisco Desktop Administrator (go) > Personnel > Agents > Set appropriate 'Work Flow Group'
Agent logs out of and closes CAD, opens and logs back into CAD, tested, solved.
Many thanks again -
How big a drive is needed for "Previews, Media Cache, Exports"
I've been looking at the guidelines on setting up disk drives to use Adobe and it seems common practice to put "Previews, Media Cache, Exports" all on the same drive.
Question1: If I set my Cache Disk to this in the Preferences, does it take care of sending all these things to the one hard drive or do I have to in every Adobe program specify location for Previews, one for Media Cache, and one for Exports?
Question2: How big of a drive is reasonable to use only for "Previews, Media Cache, Exports"?While Jim is not wrong, I am rather pleased with my new setup.
Just for reference, I have:
SSD for my boot drive.
Two 2TB drives as a RAID0 for my media
Two 2TB drives as a RAID0 for cache. I put my Windows paging file on here also.
One 2TB drive for finished product, the My Documents folders and all of my editing resources like lower thirds, backgrounds, etc.
You could reduce the drive size to 1TB or less to save money and get the same results.
I am tied for third place in the Disk I/O category on http://PPBM5.com among CS6 users. (#2 ranking of all CS6 users) So, while I like Jim's idea of even more disks for all of the different categories of storage requirements (using RAID0 for media and cache like I do) there is a limit to how much money most people have. Mine works great. I don't see a bottleneck (except with RED footage which would force a different RAID configuration and a lot more space if I ever had to use it for more than a quick test). I should point out that my drives are pretty empty. And brand new. It helps with the spped. -

Apple helpline confirm reasonable for an ipad to only last 2 years.
Have an ipad 1 3g model, cost approx £500. 2 years 3 months old.
Problem when charging if it reaches 100%, ipad will completely shut down. Can take up to an hour to reboot.
Spoke to Apple. Realise I can record calls for personal use but they cannot be used as evidence in court.
Lady confirmed not unreasonable for the battery to give up after 2 years.
Sales of goods act allows up to 6 years to claim for faulty items. However im being advised a battery is a consumable and therefore not covered.
Firstly as yet we have no idea this is a battery fault, its fine once its rebooted ok.
Secondly, ipads1 I believe they even glue the battery in, warranties invalid if you try and replace the battery, device is made so the average consumer cannot replace battery.
This to me makes it an integral part of the ipad, not a consumable part that can be swapped in and out.
Therefore the lady at apple is confirming it is bot unreasonable to have a faulty ipad after 2 years but that apple will not assist. I was even told they could replace my ipad1 for £206. With another ipad1! Have all this on a recording.
Im posting here to see what other apple staff may suggest. Is this lady incorrect? Do you think its 'perfectly reasonable' for a £500 tablet to fail after 2 years.
Finally I would add the item was actually bought from Currys, Apple have actually been a lot more helpful than Currys. Currys simply dont want to know, pass the buck to Apple etc, even though the sales of goods act states my contract is with the seller. Ie Currys.
Apologies for the waffle, but this ipad was a present for my mum. She is very elderly and trying to deal with cancer. Skype and her emails have become a bit of lifeline to her.
Many thanksyou can let apple know using feedback

this forum is for user helping user and we can't really do much apart from sympathize and
pitch in wit that it being a battery issue sounds plausible and that all batteries dies sooner or later
and very few customers of anything ever change or buy a new battery unless the place they bought the device change the batt for them -

How to find out the exact reason for backordered order in oracle apps R12
Hi,
I am new to OM module.I booked an order and trying to do "pick release" the booked order but i couldn't do so, because the order is getting backordered.
These are the things i checked
1.On-hand quantity for the particular item i am booking is sufficient enough
2.Item is in M1 org and onhand quantity is also in same org.
Can you please help me how to find the exact reason for my order getting backordered.
Regards

Restriction of Selecting Reason for movement based on the movement type
HI,
Defined Reason for movements for the movement types and made the field as " mandatory" in the control reason for the movement type.
So, during the Goods movement transaction it becomes mandatory to enter the reason for movement code.
But during the Goods movement transaction, it is possible to enter any reason for movement for any movement type. It needs to restricted with subject to the movement type.
Example:
Defined the Reason for movements 0001 & 0002 for the movement type 561.
Defined the Reason for movements 0003 & 0004 for the movement type 563.
During MB1C, now it is possible to select 0003 or 0004 for 561 as well as , it is possible to select 0001 or 0002 for 563.
it needs to be controlled w.r.to the movement type.
that is, if the movement type 561 is entered, then system should only allow the reason for movement either 0003 or 0004.
Is it possible to control, the selection of "reason for movement" based on the movement type ?
thanks in advance for your help.Hi Sundar,
Check the transaction OMBS.Here you can make the entry of reason for movement mandatory check:controls and in reasons for movements you can maintain the allowed reasons for movement for the perticulatr movement type.
Hope this help.

Need to disable availability check while changing 'Reason For Order' Field in Retail Tab
While change of STO (Me22n) I want the availability check to be disabled when a change to 'Reason for Oder' is made in the Retail Tab in the item detail.
Let me know if there is any BADI/ User exit or enhancement available where i can do this customization.Hi Reddy,
Try Transaction Variant, you can customize the screen using this tool.
Basically, you customize the screen (hide, make it required, visible etc) then
save it as screen variant and define a new transaction code to it.
So for your user, just give them this new transaction code (instead of SAP standard).
Detail about transaction variant can be checked on :
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm50/helpdata/en/7d/f63a0a015111d396480000e82de14a/frameset.htm
Hope this helps,
Gun.
