Help re: special effect for gallery

hi
can anyone please help, even if it is to just name the effect
I need to look for.
I need to create an image gallery that (i'll try to explain)
The images need to be upright - and on an invisible wheel -
rotating. Sort of the position slides would be in a projectors
slide machine. The front image would be facing the viewer and the
rest on the invisible wheel at an angle, side on. The images can be
clicked from the wheel and there needs to be forward and back
functions to scroll through the images.
I have seen this done but cannot for the life of me find it.
Many Thanks
Sarah

Hit F1 (help docs) and search for Sshape Tweening, Tweened
Animation, or similar - Sshape Tweening
is all in the help docs that comes with Flash - it applies to
shapes (vectors) made in flash - not
imported bitmaps. You will need to trace your image using
Flash's drawing tools before attemting to
animate it with shape tweening.

  • Special effect for wedding video

I just started using Final Cut Express 2. I recently shot a wedding video for my daughter and I want to put in a certain special effect. The Bride is sitting on one side of a bench and the groom is sitting on the other side of the bench. They are looking away from each other and they slowly turn and notice each other. Now the effect that I want to do is as they get up and walk toward each other and embrace I want their physical bodies to stay on the bench looking at each other, but I want their transparent (spirit) bodies get up from the bench and walk toward each other and embrace. Does anyone know if I can do this with Final Cut Express and if so how can I do it.
    Thanks for the help
    Bill

Well Bill, there are several ways to do this, but I'll give you the answer that first comes to mind. You'll want to set the same video track over top of itself then bump down the transparency to somewhere areound 50% on the top video feed. Now, because it's the same clip, you'll most likely have "time" to deal with, and by that I mean you run the risk of them getting up in both clips at some point, so what you might want to do with the video clip on the bottom layer is slow down the footage (right click the video feed, click speed and put it down to %60 or something that fits). The transparency of the top clip can be adjusted (I think I'm not at my regular computer right now) by double clicking the clip and going into one of the four tabs at the top and you should have a transparency slider.
FCE2 is an excellent editor to start off with, it can do much more than people give it credit I think. I'll be making the transition to Pro this winter.

  • How can I get the special effects for my iMac?

I noticed one day while watching a You Tube video that someone had these neat special effects when they would click on something I could see a red (radar) circle like. Anyone know what I am talking about.

It's available in Photobooth, click on effects.

  • Help with Special Effect

I am building the opening page for a website in Flash, I'm
not the most experienced with Flash, but I'm getting a lot better
and I know many of the functions. However I'm having a problem with
an effect. It shouldn't be too hard to figure out, but here it is.
I have a US Flag that is square it was built in Flash using
    about 10 - 12 layers with some motion. I haven't flattened the
layers ( I don't know how too, or even know if I'm supposed to do
    that at all).
I am trying to take the last of the constructed square flag
and transform the Square into a Circle encompassing all of the
elements within the square in a nice smooth motion.
What is the best way for me to go about this?
    Thank You

First off...no need to flatten layers. In fact, there's no
such thing in Flash (unlike Photoshop or Fireworks). You can only
delete layers (not to be confused with Layer Folders whichcan be
collapsed on the timeline, but not flattened). Most animations need
their own layer anyway and the number of layers won't in and of
themselves effect the size of the resultant SWF (the contents of
those layers will, but adding more layers won't make too much
    difference).
Secondly, for the animation effect, you probably want to swap
out your finished square flag (multiple layers) for a single
graphic (new layer). Then, depending on the exact effect you want,
you could use a circular mask on the square or perhaps shape tween
    the square to a circle.
    Hope that helps!

  • Need help with scroll effects for horizontally + vertically scrolling website

    Hi,
I recently came across a website that uses both horizontal and vertical scrolling where 1 scroll = full browser length move to the next section (as opposed to several rotations in a continuous motion of the mouse ball like the majority of websites). Please see the example here because I'm probably not explaining this very well : A Chocolate Bar, Restaurant and Shop for Chocolates, Fondue, Gift Boxes, and More | Max Brenner (http://maxbrenner.com).
I'm wondering if this effect is something that can be done in Muse and if so, how to do it. It's something I'm seeing more and more and almost behaves like a slideshow that can be controlled by scrolling.
    Thank you!
    Michele

    Hi Michele,
I am afraid that this is not possible out of the box at this stage, I will recommend that you post this on the ideas section over here, Ideas for features in Adobe Muse
You can, in the mean time, use some CSS to disable the scroll bar, preventing the partial scrolling of the page and disabling the mouse wheel scrolling as well, leaving behind only your navigation to scroll through the page.

  • Where can I get more filters, transitions and special effects for FC?

I thought I heard that there is a third party company that has transitions and cool effects and filters I could use with final cut express. Does anyone know who they are, and if they are creditable?
    THANKS!

Oh no I don't have a problem with free and I don't think expensive things means it's better. It's just easier to install a couple discs of software then to go through a bunch of sites and sift through all the free ones. I used to use iMovie and GeeThree made it easy with all their discs. That's why I am looking for software. Plus if anything ever happens to my computer it wouldn't take any time at all to reinstall the CD then to go through and find everything again. Thank you again for your suggestions.

  • Need some Help, Credit Rating effected for what I think is wrong?

Hi All  Been a wacther on here for last 12 months or so and in July of last year I purchased my first new home.  Credit was around 700, In doing so with furnishing a new home etc I for sure went overboard and got alot more credit cards than i should have. Now its not an issue that i cant "pay" them, i always pay everything on time, and more than min. But i am in a place now that has my Credit Balances close to limit and my only goal is to get rid of all my credit card debt over the next 12-24 months.. Lets say $30,000 total. My concern is that my credit score is now around 625. My problem with this is, it shows  as the first reason why  "SERIOUS DELINQUENCY" i can tell you without a doubt in the past 6-8Years I have not missed a single payment, on anything, ever... Back in college i had one captial one card and yes i did "settle to pay" at some point but that was SO long ago.. I did have verizon cable bill from when i moved and they couldnt forward my mail and ended up paying that $125 last year prior to buying my house, but that was all just a mistake as i thought i was paid in full, is this what is making the SERS DELN? wonder if Verizon would be able to remove it since i paud it a year ago? Not even sure thats it? Can anyone please advise on what I should do about this??  and I mean just this, I well know that i have to pay my CC debt off 100%, and I will.. Im looking for help on why it reflects SERIOUS DEL> when i know i dont have any?? TY ALL

that is true but if i didnt have a dvd or dvd buner to hand i would still be able to tranfer files etc. and i would still have the mp3s at home so i wouldnt mind losing them temp. plus if there was a dock i could have dropped it in that :P
ok i take your point about you would have no room for music. however the real question is why do you have to have a fixed removable dri've? as i said i am using the MTP firmware so i dont have a partition i just mix files and music. this way i should be able to have a 4.7GB file and 300meg of music or 2.5GB of files and 2.5GB of music. why should it be 2.5GB of music but with a setting of 4GB for the dri've and thus GB of music thus not being able to use the other .5GB for music?
as someone said ipods do pump out track data etc through the bottom port so you get all your info on you car stereo. the only way i see it happening on the zen is if creative make the USB a I^2C port during playback but this is prob not possible and very unlikely given current firmware releases.
dont get me wrong, i picked my zen over an ipod, looks better, has mic, has 5GB storage etc but it just doesnt make the most of its self and im not sure if it even will due to bad design which almost seems like 'apple have put there port on the bottom, lets put ours at the top, yeah that will make us better than apple'.

  • How to create a special effect for 'wipe' and 'wheel'

New to Captivate. Recently purchased Captivate 7. I'm trying to obtain an object 'add effect' similar to the "wipe" (from left) and the "wheel" animation effects found in PowerPoint. I want to simulate hand-drawing an emphasis line under text. I have a .png graphic of a hand-drawn red line (transparent background) that I'd like to appear by "wiping" from left to right. The "stretch" effect (from left to right) found in Captivate's "Add Effect" doesn't look right; it's obviously a 'stretch' instead of a 'wipe'.  Likewise, I would like to hand-draw a circle or oval around certain text or other objects to draw attention to these items. The "wheel" animation in PowerPoint works perfectly for this.
Is there a way to do this in Captivate? Maybe some variation of one of the built-in effects that I've missed? Camtasia Studio has "sketch motion graphics" built in - which also does this nicely.

Thanks for the info on Infosemantics and their widgets. As a Newbie I wasn't aware of them and their cool, useful products. However, after going through all the tutorials I couldn't figure out how the 'slider' widget would serve my need to simulate a hand-drawn line, from left to right, under text on a Captivate 7 slide. Yes, it can be used to animate (or move) any object, but not to "reveal" an object like the "wipe" animation in other programs.
I'm thinking now that it would be easier to just build an animated GIF or a small flash file to show a hand-drawn red line moving from left to right. I have Flash CS4 but have never used it. Something else new to learn.
    Thanks again.

  • Third Party Transitions and/or Special Effects for iMovie '09

Can anyone recommend some good third party plug ins for iM '09? I'm moving from iM HD where I had many to choose from.

Keep iMovie HD if you get iMovie 09.
They are very different, some good features with both.
iMovie 09 has no 3rd party plugins only what it comes with.

  • Special effect for 4x3 footage in a 16x9 timeline

I first saw WWE (wrestling) editors do this on their shows.  They mix 4x3 and 16x9 footage together where instead of the 4x3 footage is zoomed in or has black bars on the sides, they duplicate the edges of the 4x3 just to fill in that space on the left and right and they blur it as well.  It's a great trick and I was wondering if anyone knows of a filter that does this?  I can manually do it in FCP, but  just wondering...
Starting at :50, you can see some examples:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDUK0QdBKHI
    Thanks!

That's a pretty easy way to do it although it's not exactly the same.  How I did it was make a copy of V1 and paste it on V2 and V3.  Apply blurs to both (V2 and V3) and move 1 to the left and 1 to the right.  Then crop the left and right side of V1 accordingly.
With a filter...just a nice and easy drop.

  • Special effects help

I am looking for special effects for imovie such as laser, gunfire, censor, etc. I found software called Vitrix Arsenal but their online store has been closed for a long time and their support never replies. Does anyone know what/where else i can buy special effects like the mentioned above? Or prefabley where i can buy Vitrix software?

Vitrix is somehow 'vanished', that is indeed true..
another good source for plug-ins are:

  • Special effects on videocamera

for some reason my ipod won't let me access the special effects for recording videos. i have no idea how to activate them and the site is not helping at all. anyone know what i can do? i really want to get it working as soon as possible, because it is needed for a school project.

    Hello haley,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
What happens when you try to access them? From the user guide:
efore recording video, press and hold the Center button to display effects, then use the Click Wheel to browse and press the Center button to select. Press the Center button again to start recording.
    That's not working?
If you are experiencing issues trying to access the special effects, have you tried resetting the iPod yet? To do this, toggle the hold switch on and off, then press and hold the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together until the Apple logo appears. Then try again.

  • Rocket flames and exhaust special effect (2D graphics)

Hi, does anyone have a 2D special effect for drawing a rocket's flames and exhaust that they would be willing to share (open source only please)? Or, could anyone at least post some hints on how to make some cool special effects?
    Thank you.

This sounds like a good place to use a variation of the classic "fire algorithm". It's simpler than a full-fledged "particle system" but can still deliver striking results when done correctly.
The basic principle of the "fire algorithm" is like this:
First, you need a 2d array. For this sort of thing I'd probably suggest around 30 wide by 60 high. This is for pixel values that, in most implementations, range from 0 to 255. It starts out with zeros, of course.
Actually, you'll need two identical arrays.
Now, for each iteration of the flame animation:
Each pixel of the next frame is generated from the pixels of the current frame. This is why we use two arrays instead of one. First, for each pixel position, the new value becomes an average of the old values of the position, the pixels to the left and right (or 0 if we're at the left and right borders), and the three pixels below. This results in a good blurring effect, and upward scrolling of the generated image. (You can't do this for the bottom row, obviously; we have something special planned for down there anyway.)
While calculating the new values for all the pixels, also subtract 1 or 2 so the flame gets darker as it reaches the top. Negative values become zero.
For the bottom row, simply set each pixel to random values. (Although, for a more thrust-like flame, use low values near the borders and high values for the center.) This, combined with the blurring/scrolling effect, is what creates the lovely animated fire effect.
Rather than copy one array to the other for each iteration, I think it's possible to simply swap them. With some clever changes to the algorithm, it's even possible to get by with using only one array, but it's probably more trouble than it's worth.
Now, as for actually rendering the fire to the screen, that's probably much trickier in Java than in the languages I'm more used to. (I've made QuickBasic and Turbo Pascal versions of this, but not Java. Yet.)
You'll need a palette, probably divided into three bands: White fading to yellow, yellow fading to red, then red fading to transparent. (Red with an alpha value of zero would probably work best.)
Now, convert your lovely byte array, except for the last two or three rows which will look relatively ugly, into an image, using the palette. (This is the part I don't know how to do in Java.)
You can then use the AffineTransform feature to rotate and stretch the fire image and draw it on the screen whereever it's needed. (I'm actually not sure how to do this, either.)
I really need to try this some time!
Now, depending on the kind of exhaust effect you're looking for, you might be able to use the same array, and simply convert it using a different palette, one using greys, to create an exhaust image. Experiment!
