Help! Receiving duplicated mail constantly
Dear All;
I am running Mac OS 10.4.11 on G4 Sawtooth, upgraded processor at 1.3GHz. Using Safari 3
Today, the mail program became very odd, that has continued to retrieve same mails repeatedly. There are more than half a dozen of each piece of mail in the inbox. The mail program becomes unresponsive that I had to use forced quit to stop it. But I cannot access to its preference or anything to change its behaviors. Please help!

I am okay now. I went to my webmail with the server, and found a piece of JUNK mail was sent to me last week. Despite I sent it to the JUNK Mail and deleted it, it is still in my webmail and has acted up to hijack my Mail program.
First, I moved this mail to the JUNK online and deleted it forever. Then I came back to my Mail program, when this piece of mail was still highlighted in the inbox, I immediately sent it to the trash. Interestingly, the inbox stopped receiving the duplicated mail and quieted down to follow my command. I should have this piece of mail in the JUNK Box, but did not have the time but went ahead to delete the trash. After, I had to take away 180 pieces of mail to trash.

Kept receiving duplicated mails and getting stuck
Even I deleted that mail on the server, the mail client kept downloading the same one each time I open the program.
And it always get stuck in 25/60 forever, can't have any other mails pass through.
I managed to download emails on another desktop with the same accouts settings without any problems.
So what's wrong with my laptop?

Welcome to the Apple forums.
The fact that you dropped it could be the reason you are having trouble. It is possible that you have sustained HD damage in which case you will need to have it repaired by Apple. If there is visible external damage then it is possible that there is internal damage. To be honest with you I've never known a laptop of any make that takes kindly to being dropped. If the HD has been damaged then the data on it may not be recoverable.

I bought my iPhone in December and it has worked well until today (3/15/15). Now, I cannot send or receive e-mail, access Yahoo Weather, or go online through Safari. I suspect that it is a Verizon problem. Any help?
Did you reboot the phone by holding the home and sleep/wake buttons together at same time for 10 seconds?

I just upgraded to Lion today and realized I'm not receiving any mail. I can send out but not receive. I am using a POP server Road Runner acct. Any help would be appreciated.
Try Mail->Window->Connection Doctor. If there is a problem reported, try:
Open Mail->Preferences and check your settings.
If you still have a problem, Copy your settings (screen capture ⇧⌘4), delete account, and re-setup account -
I have two yahoo mail accounts. I went to bed and both were accessible on my iphone. I woke up and one was not able to receive any mail. I have deleted the account and added it back and changed the password. Still does not work. Any help?
Download the yahoo email app, if you already deleted and reinstalled the email account and still have issue.

I'm still confuse with this iCloud mail. I have 2 device which is iPhone and iPad, why every time I receive a mail from my iPhone it doesn't show on my iPad? Can you maybe help me out here thank you
The iphone and ipad must be connected to the same icloud account. Are you by chance using different IDs to connect from each device?

I am no longer receiving my mail. All my settings are the same and I can send mail. The connection doctor says I am connected, but I am no longer receiving anything. If you can help, I would appreciate it. Keep it simple, please.

Sent a 22 MB file and since then unable to receive e-mails and the file keeps "ghosting back" to my recovered messages folder. Help!

yes, I thought my limits were 20 MB, but I let my client talk me into trying to send it anyway (won't be doing that again). I actually spent some time with the apple tech support person (who was awsome!) and he had me delete some files from my mail folder in the Administrator folder and changed some settings in my mail prefernces.
Everything is working fine now. -
I have been unable to receive e-mail for a couple days now. I can send e-mails out no problem, but nothing is coming in. I have checked my e-mail account on my desktop, and the e-mails are just not showing up on my blackberry. I have been told to try sending a PIN to myself, but it doesnt look like I am able to send a PIN to anyone. I am able to go on the internet, and I am able to access everything, I just can't get email.
At this point, any help would be appreciated.I am having the same problem and cannot find an answer. If I click reconcile nothing happens either.

If you aren't receiving the email to your rescue email account (and you've tried clicking the reset link again) then you will need to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset.

Not receiving incoming mail, but can send mail...Please Help!!

For the past 3 days, I have been able to send mail from my "mail" but not receive any new mail. I know I am getting mail, since it appears when i go to my gmail account, though after several attempts to change settings and such, I still cannot receive any new mail. Weirdly enough, I received some mail from 2004 on my mailbox, but nothing new.
I have changed internet modems, and different wireless locations, nothing!
Please please, any suggestions, would be much appreciated.

It appears that the last mail I have in my box on this newer computer is from Friday around 2 pm. I am also a Cox customer, but because I am receiving it on the older computer--I don't see how it could be on their end. Any ideas--please post. Of course support is closed today!

Help! Sent mail never received
I've been having a problem where messages that I sent were never received (different addresses, different times). First it happened every so often. Then more frequently. And now I can't send any messages from my mac acct - not from the desktop app or from the web version. My internet provider hasn't changed. Nothing has changed expect my ability to send messages.
Any suggestions/ideas?
Thanks.There is something known as a realtime blackhole list. What this does effectively is blocks certain e-mail addresses based on frequent spamming from it. Once on it, it prevents your e-mail from being received by others who are on that list. Contact your friend's internet service provider to let them know not to block your address.

What's really insidious about this is that you may not have ever been the direct cause of this, but rather because you posted your e-mail address in the open on the net somewhere, a spammer picked it up and spoofed your address to make it look like you were sending spam, when it really wasn't you. And as a result, if that spammer was wrongly caught and identified as your address, you may end up on a do not receive e-mail from list. -
I have recently started to receive inappropriate mail. Although I have never opened it I can tell that it is of a pornographic nature. As well as this I constantly receive mail offering me P**** enlargement drugs. Since I am a lady of advanced years I want neither of theses !!! Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this unwanted stuff. I receive at least 4 of them everyday and am quite frankly fed up putting them into junk and deleting them, but still they keep coming. Can anyone help please.

Can not receive Mac mail -error Outlook cannot find the server. Verify the server information is entered correctly in the Account Settings, and that your DNS settings in the Network pane of System Preferences are correct. Account name: "MacMail"
What are the correct mail account settings and more importantly the correct DNS settings

You cannot use .mac or MobileMe as type of Account, you have to choose IMAP when setting up, otherwise Mail is hard coded to change imap.mail.me.com to mail.me.com & smtp.mail.me.com to smtp.me.com, no matter what you try to enter.
iCloud Mail setup, do not choose .mac or MobileMe as type, but choose IMAP...
On second step where it asks "Description", it has to be a unique name, but you can still use your email address.
IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
• Server name: imap.mail.me.com
• SSL Required: Yes
• Port: 993
• Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
• Password: Your iCloud password
SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
• Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
• SSL Required: Yes
• Port: 587
• SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
• Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
• Password: Your iCloud password
Also, you must upgrade your password to meet the new criteria: 8 characters, including upper and lower case and numbers. If you have an older password that does not meet these criteria, when you try to setup mail on your mac, using all of the IMAP criteria listed above, it will still give a server error message. Go to http://appleid.apple.com then follow directions to change your password, then go back to setting up your mail using the IMAP instructions above.
