  • SOA Server 11g (Weblogic instance) stopping on its own on Windows 2003 OS

    Hi,
I am running SOA Server 11g (Weblogic instance) on Windows 2003 OS. The machine has 4 GB RAM and 1.8 GH CPU. The SOA Server (Java process) and Weblogic Admin Servers are stopping on its own. There are lo errors in the server log files. Please suggest if you have faces similar issues. I have installes Oracle Weblogic 11g and SOA Suite 11g on this machine. The same software runs fine on Windows XP OS.
    Thanks
    Subho

Can you please provide more information:
    1. Which version of Windows Server 2003? 32 bit or 64 bit version?
    2. Which exact version of Weblogic and SOA Suite have you installed?
    3. How long do the servers run before they shutdown(do they even start properly before going down)?
    4. Make the stdout go to the server log and then see if you can find any errors.
To do that you need to go to following under domain structure tree:
    Environment>Servers>{your admin server name} page
in Logging tab, advanced section, Put a checkmark against following:
    Redirect stdout logging enabled
    Redirect stderr logging enabled
Save and activate and then restart the server. This will log the JVM log information to the weblogic server log and hopefully you will be able to identify the issue.

  • RSD...just stops on its own?

So about a month ago the dreaded RSD started happening to my macbook. I tried several times to make appointments to see a "Genius" at my apple store, however unless I wanted 11am or 1130am on any day I tried...I couldnt get in, and forget any times on the weekends...so I gave up, hoping apple would somehow solve this and give us all the answer ( hoping it was software based), then they said to call applecare as their "answer"...I cant get along with out my macbook, as I use it for my photography business, so sending it in, not an option. Then I noticed something in the last 2 plus weeks...it hasnt happened...at all, and ive rebooted a couple times, though I think maybe only twice...and nothing, no more RSD in the last 2 weeks.
Anyone else have this happen...am I being to optomisitic??

Mine started RSD for the first time, after 4 months of use, a week ago last Tuesday. Two of them, nothing more until today. But I wouldn't count today because it happened strictly in the context of the computer hanging up when coming out of sleep.
I'm not convinced that there aren't two different causes, one hardware and one software/firmware for two different problems that have the same symptoms. Might it explained why fixed MacBooks come back and then unfix themselves.
But if it's not in firmware, or you're version of the problem isn't in firmware, you're going to have to send it in eventually. Try and plan a vacation for it and notify your clients; hopefully you can limp along without too much RSD inconvenience for long enough to get things straightened out for your MacBook repair vacation.
And for the last time RSD is misnomer. Sudden is fine, if everybody like to use that. But these are not RANDOM. They are intermittent. A certain set of criteria are met and the computer shuts down without the user directing it do so or without the existence of an emergency condition that would cause the computer for its own shut down. But they only appear random; they are not.

  • IPhone 3G Severe battery loss stopped on its own today

My iPhone 3G had some serious battery loss starting very late Friday / early Saturday and continuing through the weekend (9/19-9/20). Running the latest iTunes and firmware updates, etc. Happened to notice my service randomly switching back and forth between 3G and Edge during the morning of 9/20. Battery completely dead this morning 9/21 after charging 8 hours yesterday.
Today the battery has shown 100% all day and into the night after charging for a couple hours this morning. Other iPhone users have reported the same experience to me here North of Seattle.
My very amateur guess is AT&T messing around with their network was at fault.
Thanks for the "great servicing" AT&T. Please Sir, may I have it again?

I don't get the concept of having to turn off a bevy of things ( http://www.apple.com/batteries/iphone.html ) to get the iPhone to work PROPERLY and how it should work. Turn off 3G, turn off this, don't check multiple emails, etc... They built this hardware to do all this, so why not put a battery in it that can handle it?
I have a Blackberry 8830 and I do not have to turn off anything to get it to last more than a day. In fact, it lasts about 6 days of normal use on a single charge. I have to have my iPhone on a charge the entire day just to get it through one day.

  • Please help, computer turns off on its own!

New generation aluminum iMac turns off when it wants. It has happened 3 times now when I am using the computer it will just shut off.
I do not turn the computer off, as I never have with macs, but always put it to sleep when I am not using it.
After it turns off, I am able to turn it right back on using the power button and all seems to be normal.
    Any ideas for me!? Please!

I'm glad someone else is having this problem. Mine has shut down 3 times as well. Each time I'm doing something different - so I doubt it's related to programs that are running, etc . . .
Today I called AppleCare - they had me reset the SMC and PRAM as well as a couple other software things.
It hasn't happened again - yet - but it has only happened about once every 2-3 days.
I'll keep following for other good ideas!

  • HT203171 Macbook pro trackpad not responsive, opening apps on it's own, moving screens on its own, help!

Hi, I've been having a few issues with the trackpad, mostly with clicks lately. Today the cursor went rogue and started opening all sorts of programs and files, moving to different screens and opening things there, generally going crazy and not responding when I tried to use it. I rebooted several times before it decided to stop on its own -- I'm not sure the reboot had anything to do with it. I took a video of it with my ipod, but it's too big to upload here. Any suggestions before I open cocktail and and run repairs? Thanks for any help you can offer.

My Macbook Pro started to experience the very same erratic behaviour. At first I noticed that it would happen if the MBP was on a flat tabletop surface. If I placed the MBP on my lap, the magic pad seemed to operate properly. It was very consistent. Since this is a capacitative surface, I tried an experiment. I placed the MBP on a tabletop surface where it's exhibited the malfunction. Then I used my other hand on the flat surface areas near the magic pad while using my right hand to manipulate the cursor. It appears that touching the casing with my other hand seemed to calm down the erratic behaviour. When I used only one hand, the erratic behaviour returned.
I'd searched several forums to no avail. No one seemed to have a solution or an explanation so I just lived with it.
However, by coincidence, I was experiencing what I believed was an unrelated issue. One of my USB ports was no longer responding to devices plugged into that port. While searching for a solution for the USB port, I stumbled across a post where the user suggested resetting the SMC. I'd never heard of that before this post. In his post, he mentioned that erratic Magic Pad behaviour could also be caused by the SMC.
    He instructed to
    1. Attach the MagSafe power cord
    2. Power off the MacBook Pro
    3. Press the L-Shift/Control/Option and Power button at the same time and hold.
    4. Release them all at the same time
    5. Then power on the MacBook Pro
Not only did my USB regain functionality, but it appears to have resolved my erratic Magic Pad behaviour. It now operates as it had done when new.
For reference, I'm using a MacBook Pro 13" with the Intel I3 processor and Lion.
I hope that helps somebody else as it did for me.

  • Shuts down on its own

Ive had this problem only happy twice but i didnt find no
solution to itself and just stopped on its own. Now it has come
back to haunt me, it happens every single time i try to open a
folder, or when i insert a picture the folder will open and then
just close itself and DW will quit. I had about 20 images to insert
and it wouldnt work so I had to manually add them.
I also tried installing the DW 8 updater maybe that would
work but didnt. Any solutions, common problem ect..?? Thanks

No, you shouldn't have to upgrade. Are you using DW8.02?

  • How do I stop the cursor from having a mind of its own?

I just received this computer T400.  A mac user wswitching over to pc - not famliar with the land.  I am using a notebook and the cursor clicks on its own when I let it rest and then transports me to whatever information/page that it happens to rest upon.  needles to say this is very tiring.  I have tried to go to the help section and there is not informaiton about how to stop this from happening.  There is informaiton for mouse control.  The information I found on the cursor only spoke to the rate of blinking.
also, I would like to incluse word in my start up programs and can't figure out how to do that.
the cursor information would be most useful to me at the moment.  Thank you.

    onlinebabe, welcome to the forum,
you probably need to turn off or adjust the sensitivity of tapping in the UltraNav Touchpad properties. Go to Control Panel > Mouse and select the UltraNav tab and adjust the settings.
Do you mean that you want word to start automatically when windows starts? Right click in an empty area of the task bar and choose properties > Start Menu > Customise and add Word to your Autostarts folder.
    Hope this helps

  • Applet not opening a socket on its own host. Please help.

I have also posted this in JSC2 forum.
My applet is not able to open a socket on its own host.
The applet is being served by a JSP (developed using Sun Creator2) from my laptop behind a DHCP broadband router at (say) 125.238.104.132 at my residence. I have a URL samsub.no-ip.biz that redirects port 80 calls to 29080 where my application runs. All required router rules/mapping are done and the JSPs run perfectly fine. In one of the pages, I have inserted an applet inside an escape disabled statictext field as follows:
    <applet code="AppClient.class" width=540 height=440></applet>
The applet code and the test server code are shown below for your analysis. Note that, when run on the same machine (at home), the applet works fine. The commented lines will show other failed test. The error reported at the java console was: null pointer at line 56
Could someone help me please. Thanx. MarySam

    Hi Guys,
I'm not actually from Mozilla Firefox, but I've had this problem before, and I've solved it with the help from another website.
What you need to do is download a programme called "tdsskiller" from here:
    http://www.geekpolice.net/t23369-computer-infected
scroll down the page and you should see a link. (I know the article itself seems irrelevant to your problem, but trust me, the programme they recommend works on this virus too.) It's only 1.3MB or so, so it doesn't take up huge amounts of space either! :)
I can safely say that it is COMPLETELY safe to download this from geekpolice.net, as this website is a free website which helps people with viruses on their computer. If you ever have another problem with anything to do with computers, go and have a look on geekpolice.net, they should have something that might help you.
Before anyone wonders why I am singing its praises so much, no I am not advertising them for any personal gain, but they have helped me get rid of some pretty nasty viruses on my computer before, so I am very grateful to them :)
SO, anyway, after you've downloaded the tdsskiller, you should run it, and it may find some infected files, in which case let it repair them. After rebooting your computer, the annoying opening tab thing should be gone!
I hope this works for anyone who's stuck :) If it doesn't, I'm really sorry, but it has definately worked for me!
    Good luck!
    Yashmeee :)

I am using an early 2008 MacBook Pro and am having issues with it deleting text on its own (in word, emails, etc.). As I am typing it all of a sudden starts deleting and I can't stop it. This happened once before and it was due to a buldging battery pressing on the track pad. I checked the battery and it appears to be fine. What can I do?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up guest users” (without the quotes) in the search box. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.  The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

  • Help! My iPad 2 types and navigates from screen to screen on its own!

About a month and a half ago my ipad 2 started typing multiple letters and navigated and closing webpages on its own! Its really kind of creepy because it seems possessed! I'll be browsing the web minding my own business and then next thing I know the iPad 2 takes a mind of its own and starts closing my opened pages and clicking on different pages and vice versa, also sometimes when I'm typing, it'll start typing multiple letters when I just press a letter once, for example, I'll try and type "Supernatural is about to come on!" and It'll type "Suuupppeeernaaatuuural is aaaabbbboooouuuuut toooo cooomeee ooon!!!!" At first it did this like every blue moon and I would cut the screen off and cut it back on and that would stop it, but now that doesn't work anymore and its happening a lot more frequently! Does anybody know what causes this or better yet how to stop it?

When you say "cut the screen off and cut it back on" do you mean you press the sleep button so the screen turns black and then tap the home button to bring up the lock screen and unlock it? If so, you are just momentarily putting the iPad to sleep and nothing more so that's not going to solve anything. I don't know if this will help but do you ever turn the iPad off and turn it back on - reboot? Don't know that it will help but it can't hurt.
Hold down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to turn the iPad off. Then hold down on the sleep button until the Apple logo appears on the screen, let go of the button and the iPad will restart. Try it and see if it helps.

My nokia e5 will stop ringing or vibrating at its own and will be restored only when I restore original Factory settings. I have to check my phone every now and then if my phone gets mum.

When recording in Waveform/Edit view, do you save the file before exiting Audition?  If not, I believe it attempts to keep the Temp file to offer you a recovery facility next time Audition starts.  That could be why the Temp file isn't being cleared--a deliberate safety feature.
I do save the recording before closing Audition.
When I start a new recording a new TEMP file is created but I can still see all the previous TEMP files.
So, it cant be that information is accumulated into one temp file.
As soon as it comes to a total accumulated recording time of 10 hours and a bit it doesn't write the latest TEMP file any more. When I go to the folder with the temp files I see the latest TEMP file with a file size of 0kb.
Somewhere else something else must be accumulating something or I could not repeat that strange behaviour.
Now the only thing I can do is: Record two times 4h30min and then record some junk until the latest Audition TEMP file crashes and then stop Audition and continue recording 4h30min files.

  • NB520 - Wifi stopped working suddenly on its own

    Hi,
I bought my NB520 in Singapore.
The WIFI was working properly for almost 3 years until recently I have this strange problem.
It stopped working suddenly on its own last June for almost 2 weeks.
Just when I was about to send it to the repair centre, it came back on again.
But the WIFI comes on and off for a few more weeks before it stabalised.
It works ok ever since, until 3 days ago it went off again like the last time.
Usually, when I switch on the netbook, the WIFI indicator (red light) will come on within seconds.
To use Bluetooth, I just right click on the Bluetooth icon and press "Enable Bluetooth Function" and Bluetooth will turn on.
But now when I do that, it tells me to "Plug in Bluetooth device".
Is this a hardware or software problem ?
I spoke with a local technician but she is unsure too.
Would appreciate if you can help me with this problem. Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Fionna

    > Is this a hardware or software problem ?
This can be answered very easily recovering the notebook back to factory settings.
But I guess this is not an option for you at this time. Isnt it?
However, the issue you are talking in your post looks like the WLan isnt enabled and chosen properly.
Usually you can use the FN + F8 key combination to enable and disable the WLan and BT module.
Pressing both keys would switch between WLan and BT as well as disable and enable the modules.
Did you test this in the past?
In case the FN + F8 would not work as it should, I would recommend you to download the Wlan driver from Toshiba page released for this notebook series and to reinstall the Wlan driver.
Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
