HELP! Recovered iphotolibrary lost ALL events and albums?!
Without a clear reason and absolutely no warning, iPhoto (on my brand new MacBookPro with all current updates etc.) suddenly showed '0' photos in my <80t photo library. After the itinial panic I was able to 'recover' the photos with 'recover library' option by Option+open. To my shock the entire photo library has been 'recovered' in a single 'recovered photos' event. Total catastrophe.. Could someone please have an idea how to get iPhoto to find the previous event and album hierarch? Grateful for ANY tips out there. Thank you!!
You can try rebuild with iPhoto Library Manager
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
If that doesn't help then there is no fix, I'm afraid.

Only thing I did differently was shutting down my laptop cos I was catching a plane. After restarting my laptop and iPhoto, I realised all photos and albums were gone.
Read solutions abt rebuilding libraries but didn't work.
HELP! Not sure what to do next, so anything suggestions will be much appreciated.

Hi from San Juan! Just got my new ipod touch 4th generation, since my 2nd generation was stolen a couple of months ago, and when it finished its sync process, I noticed that out of my 16,000 + photos in iphoto, only 2,435 were synced. Tried again numerous times, changing options, ("selected albums and events", "all" etc,), but nothing worked. Ever since I've had my Mac, I've only used iphoto to download, organize and share my photo collection; same cameras also. With my previous ipod, the sync process ran smoothly, and always got ALL my albums and events under the "photos" icon of my ipod. What's happened? What's changed? I'll welcome suggestions and / or solutions. Thanks in advance. Sandra
where on my computer am I suppose to make the individual picture files and have them to upload on my ipod touch.... I do have a photo library on my computer, but in the photo tab in itunes for the ipod touch and there is nothing checked for syncing, cause when I do check it it always says its going to replace everything i have in my photo library on my ipod touch..... So how am i suppose to have it checked and have it NOT replace pictures on it????
Also I cannot make more photo albums into my ipod touch, it just replaces the one album every time....
I am very frustrated cause I have tried the manuals and the apple support help etc and nothing pertains to my exact issue.....
Please if u could elaberate I would appreciate it alot.....

What has changed? Did you just update or upgrade iPhoto to the new version 9.6, to be compatible with Yosemite?
Is iPhoto opening the correct library? Ctrl-click the word "iPhoto" in the title bar of the main iPhoto window. The drop-down menu will show you, which iPhoto library is currently open.
If the correct library is open, but looking empty, select the iPhoto Library in the Finder and look inside by ctrl-clicking it and using the command "Show Package Contents". Are there photos in the folder "Masters", or is there a folder "Old Masters"? -
ICal has lost all events after upgrade to 10.8.3.
iCal has lost all events and calendars except for birthdays after upgrade to 10.8.3. If I sync to my iPhone, will it wipe them from the phone, or will it get the events from the phone?
I have Time Machine working, but am unsure how to restore calendars from it.
PLEASE HELP.Not sure why you think having to re-authorize would indicate an incompatibility or problem with their software unless you meant you have to keep re-authorizing the plugin?
Some plugins need re-authorization when you change a certain file or files in your system.. or if the file structure itself changes.. or the drive is renamed for example.. It could simply be that IK used a different form of authorization routine to their other plugins or versions of their plugins, with Amplitude 2.... Nothing to do with an incompatibility...or problems.
Anyhow I am happy you got the matter resolved and yes, random bursts of white noise is a classic sign of a plugin running in demo mode and needing authorization or re-authorisation as I suspected in your case. -

While syncing my husbands new iphone 3 on itunes I gained all the music but lost all photos and texts... also all the apps and contacts from my iphone were added to his phone. All contacts, calendars, photos etc should be on your computer as the iphone is designed to be synced to your computer.
Just sync them to your new iphone.

Try a hard reset:- hold the home button AND the power switch - ignore the red "Slide to power off" and wait ubntil the iPhone powers down, and then restarts - at the Apple logo, release all the buttons and see if your contacts reappear.

I own elements 9. All files were backed up to a external hard drive and then downloaded to a new PC, with windows 8. I have lost all my pictures, albums and tagging. How do I retrieve all of this back into Elements 9?
It appears that you have made a backup via Windows and not via the integrated backup/restore process in the organizer. Since the albums and tagging are stored in catalogs, they are lost unless you also made a backup of the catalogs themselves.
