!!HELP!! Recovering bookmarks

I accidentally synced my bookmarks from my iPhone to my computer, deleting nearly 300 bookmarks in the process. Is there anyway to recover these bookmarks? I do not have a backup of them.
Any help or information is GREATLY appreciated!!!

I wish I could offer a more simple path.
There are two ways to recreate the bookmarks, but both are time consuming.
First, open Safari. Then click on the Book Icon on the left of the Bookmarks Bar. Then click on the History collection. On the right you'll see the sites you recently visited. Double clicking on an entry opens the URL. Then (you'll get used to this), Apple/Option/B keys to open the Bookmarks Manager. There, you can drag the URL in the Address Window back into the Bookmarks Manager.
The groundwork required:
If you used the Bookmarks Bar, click on that collection in the Bookmarks Manager and set-up the various folders by clicking on the + button. When you have your Folder structure complete, you can start dragging the various URL's, opened via the History entries, into their respective folders.
Same holds true if you want to create any collection set for the Bookmarks Menu. In that case you would click on the + Button at the bottom of the Collections column, then on the right, create your Folder structure.
The second part of this process:
Finder>HD>Users>Your User Account>Library>Caches>Metadata>Safari>Bookmarks. Double-click on a Metadata entry opens a URL in Safari. There is no easy way to tell what site you are opening. Again drag the URL, where applicable, back to the Bookmarks Manager.
For future reference, by habit, I make a duplicate copy of my bookmarks file each week (Apple Key + D). While I use an external drive, I figure you can never have enough backups in this crazy computer world we live in.

I updated to Yosemite on my iMac. Firefox then began to freeze. I uninstalled Firefox and then downloaded/installed it again. It's possible I uninstalled everything Mozilla related. I'm not sure. How do I recover bookmarks, passwords, etc? I don't believe I previously had a username & password for Mozilla. I do have my Mac backed up in Time machine and also a Carbon Copy Clone.
Also, I was able to migrate setting from Safari. Perhaps I don't want some of that stuff? Looking at the list of installed plugins, I have no clue if they're standard Apple/Mozilla stuff, or if they were selected by me/my family earlier in Safari? Are any of them a threat to my online security?
Any detailed instruction would be most appreciated. I'm not much of a tech guy.
Thanks.

• *** Need help recovering music on iPod/iTunes ***

* Need help recovering music on iPod/iTunes *
I bought my iPod 30G when it first came out back in the day. With the protective case it looks like a Walkman, if you know what that is. The new ones are half the thickness of my old skool one. lol!
Anyway, years ago I accidently uploaded a virus in both my PC and laptop. Yeah, real *******. Well, the person who restored my computers couldn't save my music. I still have the iPod but my library on iTunes is gone. If I try to update my iPod in either computer it will erase every song I have on it and only upload the songs/album I'm trying to add. I'm told that this is something Apple did to prevent file sharing, blah, blah, blah...
Does anyone know a way around it? I keep buying CDs just not able to load them into my iPod thru iTunes.

Hello yourantihero,
And welcome to Apple Discussions!
There are several ways you can pull the music off your iPod and onto iTunes. The first link below provides step-by-step instructions for the direct method if you have a PC as well as a few third party applications (for both the Mac and PC) if you choose to go that route instead. You can also do a simple Google search for "copy music from iPod to computer" and you should receive a number of sites that can help you out.
Just make sure that when you have your iPod plugged into your computer, that you don't hit "Erase and Sync" before completing the task of copying your music over.
Also, if you have any purchased music, you will probably have to re-authorize your computer by heading to the Store drop down menu and choosing "Authorize computer."

My whole catalogue was nearly lost due to a failed external hard drive. Professional help recovered photos but I can't find my smart tags. Is it possible they were lost on failed drive?

Hi,
In order to recover the tags/albums, etc, you need to have the catalog db. Since currently you only have images, the organization done in the older catalog is probably lost.
Which version of PSE you have and is there any chance, that you have access to catalog location (default is : %programdata%\adobe\elements organizer\catalogs on Windows and ~/library/app support/adobe/organizer/catalogs on MAC) ?
Thanks

Hi All
I have a question about field level help and bookmarking fields.  I did this before but i can't remember how.  Right now, when you click on a field in my help to access our software application the page displays but at the top and not at the exact field description.  I don't remember how I did this in my other help files.

• Replaced hard drive in compaq presario cq62, need help recovering it with out disks

Recently replaced the hard drive in my notebook due to failure of original.  Need help recovering it without disks

If you are wanting to install the original copy of Windows it came with, you will need a set of recovery disks.
Otherwise, you can purchase a copy of Windows to install and download the appropriate drivers from http://goo.gl/hOm3. Just make sure the copy of Windows that is installed is at least the same family of Windows to ensure that drivers are available.
What is the exact model of the notebook and product number?
NOTE: Do not provide the serial number.

• Recovering bookmarks and reading list after upgrading to OS X Mavericks; no help from Time Machine

Hi,
I upgraded to OS 10.9 Mavericks today. Everything seems fine thus far, except for Safari's bookmarks and reading list. Bizarrely, ONE of my old bookmarks was left on the bookmarks bar, while all other bookmarks (except those pre-loaded by Apple) and the entire reading list are wiped.
I'm aware of the path for finding the plist (~/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist) — however: Time Machine won't let me go back to before the OS X upgrade. The windows all backups before the upgrade are completely black. As far as I can tell, this goes for all files, not just those in the Library.
My browsing history was preserved. Also, I head iCloud enabled for Safari.
I'm stumped. Any suggestions?

While in Time Machine, press the key combination shift-command-C. The front window will show all mounted volumes. All snapshots should now be accessible. Select the one you want and navigate to the files you want to restore.

• How do I recover bookmarks and passwords after an O/S change, and the old programs are in a windows.old folder?

Recently, I had a non-recoverable crash of my Windows XP Pro system. I clean-installed Vista (would not allow an upgrade install), and it moved all of my settings and programs into a windows.old folder. I'd like to be able to recover my stored passwords (even if I have to manually re-enter) and my bookmarks for Firefox. I was running version 4 at the time of the O/S crash. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Just as I expected. Before following my instructions, you might need to change your folder options to show hidden files. Now go to:
C:/windows.old/Documents and Settings/<username on XP>/Application Data
And copy everything inside the Mozilla folder to
C:/Users/<username on Vista>/AppData/Roaming/Mozilla
If the Mozilla folder doesn't exist, create one.
Now, go to C:/windows.old/Documents and Settings/<username on XP>/Local Settings/Application Data
And copy everything inside the Mozilla folder into
C:/Users/<username on Vista>/AppData/Local/Mozilla
Again, if the Mozilla folder doesn't exist, create one and rename it to Mozilla.
Hope this helps!

• How do I recover bookmarks from a broken computer?

I had one of the newer versions of Firefox running on a windows 8 Laptop. I fried the Motherboard and have been getting a blue screen for the last week. I was able to hook up the hard drive from that laptop on my desktop (Windows Vista) with a SATA - USB converter kit and run it like any other external mass storage device. So now I have access to all of that computers files, including the Program and Program x86 files. I did not have firefox sync installed, though I will be sure to do it in the future. Is there any way to pull a file off my old hard drive to restore my bookmarks? If not, are there any other options?

Hello,
You will need to go to the folder:
<Drive Letter>\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<your Firefox profile>
And copy over the places.sqlite file to transfer bookmarks over to your new profile. For more information, please see the article Recovering important data from an old profile.
EDIT: To quickly access your current Firefox profile (assuming you have your OS reinstalled):
* Go to the about:support page by either entering it in your address bar, or going to:
** Help (or > ) > Troubleshooting Information
* Click "Show Folder"
* That should open up Windows Explorer in your Firefox profile folder
* Exit Firefox
You need to have Firefox closed before you replace the places.sqlite file.

• Recover bookmarks

I was having issues with my firefox (errors, crashes, freezing, etc) so I decided to do an uninstall then a reinstall to see if it would fix. But before doing this I had set up a firefox sync account, and i made it to sync all my bookmarks. Of course I doubled check to make sure my bookmarks were indeed sync to the account (and they were indeed). Then I uninstalled firefox (I also check-marked and personal information check-box that was asked during the install). Then I reinstalled firefox and tried to log in firefox sync, by clicking 'I have an account' then it asks me "To activate, select Pair a Device on your other device" knowing this was impossible cause I am using the device to being with and I did a uninstall I therefore clicked 'I don't have the device with me' to do a different route. Then I put in my account information but it refused it continue without a recovery key, which is impossible for me to obtain due to uninstall, so I clicked 'I have lost my other device' but it still refused to continue no matter what recovery key i clicked or button I pressed. therefore as a last result i clicked change recovery key, and now it deleted my information on sync server (BTW WHY IS THE WARNING FONT IS SMALL).
Basically my questions is, is there a way I can get my old bookmark information from the sync server, like a rollback or something? or Anything? this is up-most BS that there was no way for me to obtain my information without resetting.

Hello,
Firefox automatically creates backups of your bookmarks, which can be helpful if your bookmarks are lost or missing. To recover them, follow the instructions below.
#Use <u>one</u> of these methods to open the Bookmarks Library window:
#*Click the Firefox button to open the menu and click on Bookmarks.
#*Click the Bookmarks menu and click on Show All Bookmarks.
# At the top of the Library window, click the "Import and Backup" menu and select Restore.
# Click the date of the bookmark backup you want to recover.
# In the new window that appears, click OK.
# Your bookmarks from the selected date should now be restored.
For more information, see the Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer article. For other solutions, see the Recover lost or missing Bookmarks article.

Thank you.

• Help recover a deleted page

hello i need to know how to recover a page from my note pad on my ipad i deleted by accident  any help would be nice
ty solox

If you weren't using the Mozilla Sync service, your bookmarks aren't stored anywhere except for on your PC.
Just uninstalling Firefox wouldn't delete your bookmarks, that person would have had to select the option to "remove all Firefox data and customizations".
See if this helps you. <br />

• Recovering bookmarks after a harddrive wipe.

I recently had trouble with my laptop where it got stuck in an endless loop of restarting, trying to repair, failing, and restarting again. As it turned out, Windows had become corrupted so, to fix it, my important files were saved from my harddrive and then everything was wiped before Windows 7 was reinstalled. So, basically I'm starting over from scratch.
Firefox was removed in this process so I had to reinstall it and, as you would expect, all my bookmarks are gone. I was wondering if there was anyway to recover them or if they're lost for good. I had a lot of writing resources saved that I don't have memorised so it would be really good to get them back.
Thanks for any help!

Hello,
If you reformatted your computer, I'm not sure if you can recover anything. However, if you still have a copy of your old hard drive before the reformat (in a folder like windows.old), please see the article Recovering important data from an old profile - the article will tell you where you can access your Firefox profile (the windows.old folder should have the same directory tree to your old Firefox profile) in addition to which files you can copy over (places.sqlite is where bookmarks are stored for Firefox).
If you set up a Firefox sync account in your old profile, you may be able to sync your bookmarks that way too.
