HELP! RECOVERY MODE IS NOT HELPING WITH ZEN MI

Hello all. I JUST got a Zen Micro, believing that it was a dependable and user friendly machine. However, I've been proven wrong. Initially, it refused to charge fully only leaving me with a few hours of play. Then, it wouldn't turn on AT ALL!!! I tried Recovery Mode's various options Disk Clean Up, Format, etc...NOTHING WORKS! Not only do these options take hours to perform, my Micro still won't turn on! I've already returned one faulty machine to Circuit City, and don't want to go back again. I have mistreated the thing- I love it, lavish tons of money on it, and even brought one of those overly expensi've cases for it! I have already emailed customer support, but feel that I will be music-less for some time. Any advice? Is my warranty still good? Is there an actual human being I can talk to Thanks

I have sent the email, and received a list of common FAQs that don't help much. I have tried researching my problem prior and have yet to find an actual solution!!! Is there ANYTHING else I should do. I have already tried most of the listed advice in terms of Recovery Mode, etc. Problem is that NONE of those options work!

What happens when you select the Clean Up option?
Refer to this article for more information on the recovery mode options. The recovery tool is not compatible with this player.

Forgot the passcode to my ipad. When I went to restore it, it asked me if I wanted to update the software so I said yes. It then went into recovery mode, I'm guessing, with the connect to iTunes showing on the screen. Now iTunes will not recognize it so I have no idea how to get it back! Help!!

Then you will need to try restoring it once more:
Placing your device into recovery (DFU) mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
       1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the
other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
       2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds
until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
                  * If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the
Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,
release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
      3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,
let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some
charge, and then start with step 2 again.
      4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button:
      5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
      6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
    Additional Information:
If you have a problem getting into recovery mode then try: RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode.
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.

  • I have a mac which plays the boot sound but the screen stays black. Recovery mode does not work, as the keyboard is wireless. What do I do?

What it says in the title.
I have an older mac and it worked perfectly until about an hour ago when I shut it down because we needed the room dark for a presentation and the screen saver was putting out light.
Now it won't turn back on. It plays the start up music but the screen stays blank.
The CMD+OPT+R for recovery mode doesn't do anything, the keyboard is wireless so the command doesn't get to the computer and that's the only keyboard I have since that's the one it came with.
I'm looking at making a USB recovery disk but it says that I should click on "Options" in the Disk Utility but there is no options button or menu to click.

Also it says that if I make a drive on this computer which has an older OS it might not work on the broken machine with Mavericks.

well, then recovery mode does not work. I've tried all the key combinations I've seen on line. Command+R, Command+Option+R, Command+Option+P+R, none of these work.
I don't believe there is anything we can do on a forum to help then, you need to take it into a AASP and have it professionaly diagnosed. If you don't know how to locate an AASP in your area you can begin by using Contact Apple for support and service
    Good luck.

  • IPod Touch stuck in recovery mode and not detected in iTunes

I was trying to update my iPod Touch (currently 3.1.3), so I downloaded the 4.3.3 firmware (I didn't want to download the 4.3.5) and connected my iPod to my computer, opened iTunes and hit Shift+Restore. Then, I chose the 4.3.3 firmware and proceeded with the restore.
    However, the following appears:
    Error 1602
I pressed OK and the restore process stopped. But, my iPod is stuck in recovery mode. Every time I reboot it, the recovery mode shows up. It's also not detected in iTunes although my computer recognize it as iPod Touch Recovery Mode.
Please help me solve this. I can't use my iPod.

Error 1602: Try the following steps to resolve this error:
Ensure proper USB isolation troubleshooting has been performed, and test with a known-good cable.
Follow the steps listed for Error 1604.
This error may be resolved by disabling, deactivating, or uninstalling third-party security, antivirus, and firewall software. See steps in this article for details on troubleshooting security software.
    Above from:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694
Also, when updating/restoring an iDevice, iTunes contactact the Apple sever to verify that you have the latest iOS version.  If not, it will not allow an install if an earlier version.
