Help Regarding Properties Class
Hi folks,
The problem is . . .
I need to send a Properties Object over the network. I do this using DatagramPacket and DatagramSocket Utilities.
Properties p=new Properties();
String z=p.toString();
byte b[]=new byte[1024];
b=z.getBytes();
InetAddress ia=InetAddress.getHostName("172.16.1.0");
DatagramPacket=new DatagramPacket(b,b.length,ia,8000);
DatagramSocket ds=new DatagramSocket();
ds.send(dp);But the problem is at the recieving end how do I convert the string recieved into an identifiyable Property.
I DO feel like a search engine

Please helpHello ,
There should be a number of BRF+ tutorials available in SCN which discuss the FDT APIs. You can have a look at them to get an idea of the various APIs available and their uses.
For your usecase, you should do the following.
lo_fdt_function TYPE REF TO if_fdt_function,
lo_fdt_result TYPE REF TO if_fdt_result,
* Get function handle
CALL METHOD lo_fdt_factory->get_function
EXPORTING
iv_id = lv_function_id
RECEIVING
ro_function = lo_fdt_function.
where lv_function_id is the GUID of the BRF+ function . You can either make it a constant , or you can use a FDT API to get the function GUID from the BRF+ application name and function name.
* Set function context
TRY.
CALL METHOD lo_fdt_context->set_value
EXPORTING
iv_id =
ia_value =
This is one way to set the input context ( pass the input to the BRF+ function to process ). There are other ways to do this as well. Which one you use would depend on the kind of input you want to pass.
* Execute BRFPLUS function
TRY.
CALL METHOD lo_fdt_function->process
EXPORTING
io_context = lo_fdt_context
IMPORTING
eo_result = lo_fdt_result.
* Get result output
TRY.
CALL METHOD lo_fdt_result->get_value
IMPORTING
ea_value =
Another direct way of doing it would be to use the method PROCESS of the class CL_FDT_FUNCTION_PROCESS.
I have not gone into much explaination here , but it should provide you an idea of how you can go about it.Read the SCN docs on the APIs to get a better idea , or better still if you can get hold of a copy of the BRF+ book by Carsten Ziegler , you will get an end to end explaination of all BRF+ APIs in it.

Object Oriented prg
A programming technique in which solutions reflect real world objects
What are objects ?
An object is an instantiation of a class. E.g. If Animal is a class, A cat
can be an object of that class .
With respect to code, Object refers to a set of services ( methods /
attributes ) and can contain data
What are classes ?
A class defines the properties of an object. A class can be instantiated
as many number of times
Advantages of Object Orientated approach
Easier to understand when the system is complex
Easy to make changes
Encapsulation - Can restrict the visibility of the data ( Restrict the access to the data )
Polymorphism - Identically named methods behave differently in different classes
Inheritance - You can use an existing class to define a new class
Polymorphism and inheritance lead to code reuse

Hi!
I'm wondering if there is a class similar to the Properties class that outputs it content in a structured way. That is, if you use the Properties class to read properties from a properties file and then you modify its content and write it out to a file, there will not be the same structure in the output file as in the input file.
What I'm looking for is a class that can be used to parse properties files and where it is possible to change properties, but the output has the property names in the same place (in the file) as the input, but the property values might have changed.
Would really appreciate some help!
Best regards
Larsthere is no standard class for it. i think the best (and also an easy solution) is to do the input/output via a XML wrapper (written by yourself), with the available XML tools this is simple.
if you are going to use JDK1.4 have a look at the Preferences API: i think it is great! -
How to reload Properties class
Hi,
I am using the following code to reload ResourceBundle.
Now I have decided o switch from ResourceBundle to Properties.
I would liek to know the modifications needed in this code to reload Properties class.
When I use the same code I am getting NoSuchFieldException when the method 'getDeclaredField("cacheList")' is called.
Class<Properties> type = Properties.class;
Field cacheList = type.getDeclaredField("cacheList");
cacheList.setAccessible(true);
((Map)cacheList.get(Properties.class)).clear();
Please help.
Thanks in advance,
NeelambaryWhy don't you just use clear() and load(InputStream)?

Properties class not available on remote stylesheet
dreamweaver cc will not apply style classes if the css is on remote server. I have to download the style sheet in order for the classes to appear in the properties/class dropdown tool. what happened to live view and how do I change this so it works with a remote css?
That's how it works for me, too.
Just download the min.CSS file from the remote location and put it into your site folder. With Bootstrap, I don't necessarily have to link to my local style sheet. I can still reference the CDN version in my code. But If I want to work with Bootstrap classes, etc... I have to have the CSS file in my site folder.
Hope that helps.

thanks in advance
Rehan MIrzaHere is a good link that indicate that JavaBean is not only for applets
http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/javabeans/whatis/beanDefinition.html
quote:
The JavaBeans API makes it possible to write component software in the Java programming language. Components are self-contained, reusable software units that can be visually composed into composite components, applets, applications, and servlets using visual application builder tools. JavaBean components are known as Beans.

Alv field with f4 help without using class
Hi,
Can any one give me a program of "Alv field with f4 help without using class".
Thanking you in advance.hi
<b>Linking F4 Help to Fields</b>
For the last section, we will deal with linking F4 help to fields. It is easy. As usual, define, implement and register the event onf4 at proper places in your code. For F4 help, you must register the fields whose F4 request will trigger the onf4 event. For this you must prepare a table of type LVC_T_F4 and register this table using the method register_f4_for_fields. While preparing table you must include a line for each field which will trigger F4 event. For each field in the structure;
􀂾 Pass the fieldname to FIELDNAME
􀂾 Set REGISTER to make the field registered,
􀂾 Set GETBEFORE to provide field content transport before F4 in editable mode
􀂾 Set CHNGEAFTER to make the data changed after F4 in editable mode.
DATA: lt_f4 TYPE lvc_t_f4 WITH HEADER LINE .
lt_f4-fieldname = 'PRICE'.
lt_f4-register = 'X' .
lt_f4-getbefore = 'X' .
APPEND lt_f4 .
CALL METHOD gr_alvgrid->register_f4_for_fields
EXPORTING
it_f4 = lt_f4[] .
Preparing table for the fields to be registered to trigger F4 event
METHOD handle_on_f4 .
PERFORM f4_help USING e_fieldname es_row_no .
er_event_data->m_event_handled = 'X' .
ENDMETHOD .
A sample onf4 method implementation
Again, we set the attribute er_event_data->m_event_handled to prevent further processing of standard F4 help.
