Help : Regarding Report Group (Report painter)

I have developed a report thru report painter. But i m having doubts wy we use report group? what will be the impact if i use the report group which are already exist or else for every report we have to go for new report Group ..

Hi Santosh,
A report group is generally created keeping in mind the reporting requirements and the library used.
If u r viewing reports based on GLPCA or FAGLFLEXT, then it is advisable to group them together.
Another advantage of creating a report group is when we run the report through GR55, then n number of reports can be seen with a single input screen.
If two reports r using different variable, then u would have to create two groups as variables will appear as in the selection screen.

Hi Krishma,
You can save this workbook to your PC and email it to your user. They need to open the workbook (with Bex running in Excel). When they click the refresh button they system will prompt them to log on (if they are already not logged in) and then the queries will be executed.

Help! Matrix Group Report

My tables are
Petty_cash_voucher P :- voucher_date,terminal_id,currency_code,account_code, amount
Terminal_master T :- terminal_id,terminal_station_code
Ledger_codes L :- account_code,account_description,accound_main_head_code
Account_main_heads :-
Account_main_head_code, Main_head_description
im looking for a MATRIX WITH GROUP REPORT should look like this
1st group : CURRENCY
2nd Group : Main_head_description
Row field is : account_description
Column field is : Terminal_town_code
Matrix CELL is : total_amount.
here i should see all my terminal_towns though the transactuons existed or not for that day. letssay there are 22 terminals, but today i have 2 terminals only transactions, but i need to see 22 as columns with NULL values. and for ledgers, main_heads what ever existed only. Ex: i have 100 ledgers with 20 Main heds, but there is 2 only transactions happend, i should see 2 group by main_head with 2 terminsla having values remiaing termils with null values.
i wrote the query like this , but it is not giving all terminal codes , giving only values existed.

Posting twice is not going to get you an answer quicker - post some insert statements with actual data, the results you are seeing, and the results you expect!
You'll find most people are more than willing to help, but this is less a reports issue, and more a sql issue. So if you want a quick response, you must give as much information as you can!

Need Help regarding Printing the report in Bi Publisher

Hi,
I have configured the printer successfully. But the problem is when i give the print in PDF format it coming in some symbols and for single page it is printing nearly 10 pages. When i gave print in HTML format then it is printing in Html tags.
Please help me how to achieve this problem...

Usually the BEX is slower than the web applications.BEX needs a lot of resources on the client computer.
Are you using any macors / VB code to do some processing before display the query output in BEX ?

Hi,
Would it be possible to customize Workcenter in a way that "business users" would be able to use it?
I would like to remove the whole part about system selection, and so on... and build tabs that would actually mean something to the end-user.
For instance:
- Portal Time responses
- Personal Administration requests
- Trainings asked
without the user knowing that data come from this backend of that Portal
I think one can already use Implicit WDA personalization so as to remove a whole lot of options from tcode SOLMAN_WORKCENTER and use parameters such as NO_HEADER to maximise reporting area but still...
Besides, I would like to group some reports on the same page or even on the same graph.
I am sure someone out there has already gone through this...

Need to add Purchase Order field in Standard report in report painter

Hi Gurus,
I have a requirement to add an extra field in Cost center:Act/Plan/Comm CC Cur report.This is otherwise a Z report in report painter with 0% code (T-code : GR55-> Report group->Report).But,when we go to technical information of this report,it has four standard sap programs,which contains code for this selection screen.It does not even have a modification scope.
Selection screen of this report contains following parameters:
Selection values:
Controlling Ar
Fiscal Year
From Period
To Period
Plan Version
Selection Groups:
Cost Center Group
Or value(s)
Cost Element Group
Or value(s)
My requirement is to add one more parameter : Purchase oeder in new block:
Is there any way to achieve it.
Note: Copying the standard progs into custom prog is not working,i already tried that.
Please let me know your suggestions,if any one of you came across such requirement before.it is very impoertant for me.

You can find enhancement in me28 by following steps and then apply your logic in include of this enhancement.
cmod>Give a project name>in enhancement column give the package name ME >f4>in package write ME-->ENTER>It will show you all enhancements available in me28> find which ever suits your requirement>save > click on components> from there you can make changes in include program.to add that particular field.

Problem in Exporting a Report Group having a Report Painter Report.

I am having a problem in exporting a Report group having a Report Painter report.When I am trying to export the Report Group using transaction GR57 with all dependent objects,it is displaying:
 group 0102CPDNUEA-CCROSI not transported.
 Transport groups separately if necessary.
There are 6 such groups which are not transported.Can anybody help me in this regards.Can anybody help me in exporting these Groups.Specifically in Report painter reports what do these Groups signify and how can we see them.Please help me....

I am able to export my report groups with dependent objects successfully.
I dont know why you are getting error message. Just keep break point at ***** and execute it for single group and find out why it is giving error.

Report group / Painter Vs ABAP

Hi,
There are some tools in FI like Report painter/writer, by using them functional people can develop reports/ reprot group ( for ex: using txn GR51).
If there alreday existing Z report group. Can we modify it?
If so will it b done by Functional guys it self? or Abapers needed?
if abapers needed, in which scenario it requires abaper's help?
if abaper want to modify it, how can he do it?

Everything in Report Painter/Writer can be handled by Functional consultant
As such there is no need of ABAP Developer for it.
You can't change the Existing Group
Where as you can create your own group and use.

Report Writer functions can be accessed from within the Report Painter.
The difference lies in the GUI of the report painter.

Report Painter: How to find report group of a report?

Hi experts,
I have a report that a user created in report painter, I created a transaction (normal report transaction) to acess this report, but the transaction isn't executing right (I don't have the option to see the results only to print it), and I want to try creating a parameter transaction, however nobody knows the report group the report are vinculed.
I want to know if are possible to consult the report group a report is in.
P.S. Sorry my english, points will be awarded for good answers.

Thanks to all for the help, I solved my problem looking into older topics from the forum.
To all who may have the same problem:
1 - Go to SE93, create a parameter transaction;
2 - Report = 'START_REPORT' / skip initial screen = 'X' / Inherit GUI attributes = 'X';
3 - In the parameters table you will type:
     D_SREPOVARI-NOSELSCRN = blank
     D_SREPOVARI-VARIANT = blak
     D_SREPOVARI-REPORT = blank
     D_SREPOVARI-REPORTTYPE = RE
     D_SREPOVARI-EXTDREPORT = KP 01RPSCO_X                       NAME_OF_YOUR_REPORT
4 - Special atention to the last parameter as it is the most important in this transaction, the first part (including spaces) are always the same, the last one is the name of the report you created through the CJE*.

Error in generating a report group in Report Painter

I created a report in SAP report painter using transaction code GRR2. I attached the report to an existing group ( 15 reports already in the group), when I generate the group in transaction code GR55 thereu2019s an error message u201CSyntax error in GP40V42F6QG4OQVI4Q93F6FE3QK500, row 97,644 (-> long text)u201D. Please help me on this error.

There's no error when I generate the same report in a new created group as well as when I generate the existting report group without the new created report.
Information on where terminated
    The termination occurred in the ABAP program "GP40V42F6QG4OQVI4Q93F6FE3QK500"
     in "FILL_RANGES_FROM_SET".
    The main program was "GP40V42ERDE7HBU91TXFAHVA6B0500 ".
    The termination occurred in line 92457 of the source code of the (Include)
     program "GP40V42F6QG4OQVI4Q93F6FE3QK500"
    of the source code of program "GP40V42F6QG4OQVI4Q93F6FE3QK500" (when calling
     the editor 924570).

To create a Transaction Code for a Report Painter/report writer report
Tcode for Report Painter
To create a TCode, follow the steps below.
1) Go to Transaction code SE93, Enter TCode Name and Press Create.
2) Give short Description and select Parameter Transaction, Press Enter
3) Select Transation Radio Button and write START_REPORT in the next text
box Also Check the box Skip Initial Screen.
4) On the bottom of Screen (default Values), Enter Parameters
i) Name = D_SREPOVARI-REPORTTYPE. Value = RW
ii) Name = D_SREPOVARI-REPORT Value = Your Report Group Name (Say 1SIP)
5) Save and Execute.

Report Painter - Report group doesnot exist

I have done the development of new report and report groups through report painter. I did the assignment of report to report group, Also i could able to access the report through T.Code GR53 / GR55 codes.
I have done the Generate report option (Shift +F8) option through T.Code GR52 -> got the message that " Report group ZXXX has been generated". Also did the " Mass generator " and no error are found.
I could able to assign the T.Code through SE93 in my development client. I did the trasnport the development to Unit Testing Server.
In Testing Server, if i try to use the T.Code ... i am getting the message as " Report Group does not exist with message number - GR409. Even thou, i am able to access the report and report group directly through GR53 / GR55.
Kindly guide me, is there any step i have missed ?

In my report, having periods as rows and location as columns as shown below,

But comming to my requirement, the periods should be in fix in matrix as shown below

For the periods, create a seperate dummy query and then use it as column group in the multi query matrix.

Regarding Report Group-GR55

hi friends,
      I am running a report group using the T.Code GR55. In the selection screen when i enter the Fiscal Year-2007 and then run the report group it is generating an output. after that we are double clicking on the particular field on the output it is calling an abap program which has the fiscal year in the selection screen.but the ourput it is generating is showing all the values including 2006 and 2007. i just want to know the link between the report group and abap program ie if it is calling nay interface inbetween(also how the values are passed from the report group to the selection screen of abap program).
