Help: Reliable approach to install and use Windows XP on Macbook Pro

Hi,
I am very excited to know that my new Macbook Pro can run windows OS.
Finding a free downloadable copy on Internet, I'm so afraid of massing up my New Macbook Pro system. I'm thinking VM ware Fusion combining with Windows XP on a CD would be the most easiest and SAFEST approach on this issue, but It's really hard to find a windows XP on a CD in the store.
What is the most easiest and safest installation process TO RUN WINDOWS XP ON MAC?
Any helps and advise is appreciated.

I have just written some general advice on Boot Camp, with a Windows XP partition, which I also highly recommend, herein.
First, you should read the Boot Camp manual carefully and follow it in detail.

Second, you should format your Windows partition using the NTFS format. Fat 32 will not support files larger than 3.5 GB.
I would recommend a minimum partition size of 40 GB.
While you can access your Mac hard drive from Windows with Boot Camp 3.0, you cannot write files to it. To write files to your Mac hard drive from Windows, you would want to check out MacDrive, which is really good.

Under NTFS, you will be able to read your Windows drive from your Mac drive.
However, if you want to write to it, you will need the following software from Paragon.

If you go with XP, and to save money, look for Microsoft OEM versions of Windows XP. These are the same as retail versions of Windows, but you will pay far less, i.e. $129 vs. $399.
However, do not go for manufacturer OEM copies of Windows, like from Dell or HP, as they will not work properly.

Your Mac shipped with discs for Mac OS X 10.5.5. You can call Apple and likely get replacement disks for it. Note that you can upgrade your machine (late 2008) to the latest version of Lion if you like. You do need to get the original set of discs, though. I don't know how much they would run. That would have been Leopard - I wouldn't try getting the discs from Amazon ($250 or so) - I'd try Apple first.

I'm a music producer and work most of the time on a mac Pro 4.1 quad core intel Xeon, Mac OS X 10.6.8.
I just purchased a Macbook Pro 13" (mid 2012) OS X 10.9.3 and my idea was to clone the Mac Pro i use for work and put it on the Macbook so i'd be able to work on the go if needed(same softwares installed,same authorizations, no need to do upgrades, everything working smoothly).
I cloned the Mac Pro HD with ccc and mounted it on the macbook, but it won't boot (the hd was cloned properly cause it boots on the mac pro).
I'd like to know if I'm doing something wrong or if it's just not possible anymore..a friend of mine did the same exact thing on a macbook pro mid 2011(from Mac Pro 4.1) and it worked without any problem..

As you know, there is no 10.6.8 disk, but one can clone 10.6.8 into a late 2011 MBP (from an external HDD). Niel mentions a 2012 model, you are the one who speaks of 2011 MBPs. That is why I directed the comment to you.

Black screen and looping after installing and updating Mountain Lion on Macbook pro 2011 13 "i5 2.4Ghz

After first installing the new Mountain Lion upgrading Lion on my Macbook Pro was a little slow, so I decided to format and install Mountain Lion via a thumb drive. After installation on my Macbook Pro was restarting all the time and showing a black screen with codes on the screen. I decided to reformat and reset the PRAM, and that seems to have worked. Occasionally a black screen appears with the codes and my macbook restarts again. Last night I updated the Mountain Lion and error and looping retornartam. I thought I had lost all my works, do more entered in the login screen. I turned off my macbook, went to sleep and this morning I called and finally worked Do not know what's going on in my friends' macbook not occur this problem. The macbook them is the 2011 13 "i5 2.0Ghz and another 2010 and they both work perfectly with the Mountain Lion.

Hello, in light of the Macs being infected by the Flash Virus, which anti virus is recommended and will it slow my computer down a whole lot?

Mac OS X versions 10.6.7 and later have built-in detection of known Mac malware in downloaded files. The recognition database is automatically updated once a day; however, you shouldn't rely on it, because the attackers are always at least a day ahead of the defenders. In most cases, there’s no benefit from any other automated protection against malware.
The most effective defense against malware is your own intelligence. All known malware that affects a fully-updated installation of Mac OS X 10.6 or later takes the form of trojans, which can only work if the victim is duped into running them. If you're smarter than the malware attacker thinks you are, you won't be duped. That means, primarily, that you never install software from an untrustworthy source. How do you know a source is untrustworthy?
Any website that prompts you to install a “codec,” “plug-in,” or “certificate” that comes from that same site, or an unknown site, merely in order to use the site, is untrustworthy.
A web operator who tells you that you have a “virus,” or that anything else is wrong with your computer, or that you have won a prize in a contest you never entered, is trying to commit a crime with you as the victim.
“Cracked” versions of commercial software downloaded from a bittorrent are likely to be infected.
Software with a corporate brand, such as Adobe Flash Player, must be downloaded directly from the developer’s website. No intermediary is acceptable.
Disable Java (not JavaScript) in your web browser(s). Few websites have Java content nowadays, so you won’t be missing much. This setting is mandatory in Mac OS X 10.5.8 or earlier, because Java in those versions has bugs that make it unsafe to use on the Internet. Those bugs will probably never be fixed, because those older operating systems are no longer being maintained by Apple. Migrate to a newer version of the Mac OS as soon as you can.
Follow these guidelines, and you’ll be as safe from malware as you can reasonably be.
Never install any commercial "anti-virus" products for the Mac, as they all do more harm than good. If you need to be able to detect Windows malware in your files, use ClamXav — nothing else.

If all you want is to be able to transfer files between her PC and your MAC, you don't need to run Windows on your MAC.
Programs like Microsoft office generate files that are completely compatible between MAC and Windows. Just e-mail the file to yourself and then download it from the e-mail to the second computer - or offload to a USB Flashdrive.
Even most programs that like to save files in some crazy native format, usually have an Export function that will let you export text files as either .txt, .rtf , or .doc if they are text files, .xls, .csv files if they are spreadsheets, etc.
The one thing you need to be careful of is to make sure that the files have the three letter suffix in the file name (e.g., .doc, .xls, etc). Apple uses a "Resource Fork" in the file that tells the OS what program created it. PC's don't. They look for the three letters at the end of the file. Files made on a MAC only show the three letter suffix if you set it up to make them show ir or if you make it part of the file name when you create the file. PC doesn't have a resource fork, so the MAC won't know what to do with the file unless the file has the three leter suffix.
It's cool to run Windows on your MAC, but it does tie up substantial hard drive space and you should only do it if it's necessary. Most of us that use Windows on a PC do it because we have to run some specific software application that is not written for the MAC. If all you want to do is transfer files, just try it. It's easy.

If you have a brand new MacBook Pro or have installed Lion on an older one, you can only instal Windows 7 on Boot Camp (for some reason you can't use Vista or earlier). If you have a Windows 7 CD and a license, it's pretty easy to do via Boot Camp. See here for instructions: http://support.apple.com/manuals/#macos
If you install via Boot Camp, Windows 7 will run as fast as your computer is. Generally, MacBook Pros are very fast laptops, so you should be pretty good. That being said, just like any laptop, if it's a cheaper MacBook Pro, you won't have access to as capable graphics processing as more high-end machines. So if it's a newer game with crazy impressive graphics, you will likely not be able to tap into the highest settings on the game on any laptop.
