HELP! Reload Software 552 Error??

Hi, I just was configuring, and on my phone. Then it says "Phone has to reboot" so I did. And now it comes up in a blank white screen saying Reload Software 552. Please help. I really don't know how I can do this, and my Windows Installer won't work so if you can help me with that to. PLEASE HELP ASAP I CAN'T AFFORD ANOTHER PHONE.

Hi and welcome to the forums!
1) Is this a new device still under warranty? If so you can return it and get a NIB (new in the Box) replacement.
2) if you cannot replace it, do you have a windows PC, blackberry desktop software and any experiance in reloading phone OS? Do you have a current backup of your phone?
3) What does the "windows  installer won't work mean?
4) Tell us every detail you can think of so we can help with the best advice.
Either way we can get you through fixing the error, Ok?
Thanks,
Bifocals

  • Reload software: 552 error; cannot reload OS

Hi. I am getting this error message on my Curve 8900:
    Reload software: 552
I have read several threads advising how to fix this, but the problem is that they all require me to connect the device to my computer and reload the OS. But since I upgraded to a desktop computer running Win 7, I have never successfully connected the device to the computer except in mass media mode. I just re-downloaded the desktop software and it still won't recognize the device. So I have a device that needs the OS and all applications reloaded, and no way to do that. Suggestions?

    Hello !
If you have already done that, then what you can do is resatart your PC.
Once rebooted then firstly, connect your USB Cable with your BlackBerry Smartphone.
And now open your BlackBerry Desktop Software.
    Hope this resolves your Problem!

  • Constant reload software 552 errors

I am on my second Verizon 9630 in 2 weeks.  I get contstand 552 error when downloading software from app world.  So did I get 2 bad 9630's or is the the 4.7 software just plain awful.
I am tired of reloading the software and all of my apps every other day.  What can I do to make this stop?  I just need a phone that will actually work for more then 2 days without crashing.

Brinky, I just want to say you are not alone. Here is a copy of my recent post on the BlackberryForums. Sound familiar.
I need some help, or at least some explanations.
Every so often, more often than I like, I will load some new application and boot to an error 552 with no boot. Some times I have managed to use BBSAK to remove the application and recover. Most times it goes downhill from there.
    1) Are there any precautions to avoid these errors?
When all fails, I have to resort to performing the following.
    - Wipe the device
    - Reload the OS
    - Reload all of my 3rd Party Applications
    - Restore my data
This works some of the time but occasionally takes a couple of tries. With the loooong Tour reboots, it takes up to two hours to fully restore. Then comes the frustrating part. Even with all the data restored, allmost all of my 3rd party apps require me to re-enter the registration codes, etc. Many times I also have to reset the options. WHY? Isn't this data stored? Why does the data restore not restore the registration codes?
What am I doing wrong. I am now afraid to load any new software cause as much as I love to try new apps, I am tired of bricking my Tour.
    Help!!!
This is driving me crazy. I have learned alot on how to recover from these forums, and thank goodness to BBSAK for saving my butt.

  • Reload Software: 552 Error

I got a blackberry tour for about 4 months now and absolutely love it... until it started getting this 552 error. Last time it happend, i was on a trip and i ended up not having a functional phone for an entire weekend since i had no access to a windows computer. Every time this happens, i have to hunt down a friend who has a windows machine to resore my phone to a functional state. Its not like i was doing some crazy stuff with the phone, just insalling/removing new application via direct link and app world. And once in a while, randomly, the the phone fails to reboot itself back to normal even though free applicaion memory is more than 50MB.
    1. I understand that 3rd party application may be buggy, but then, a smartphone OS should protect itself rather than failing into a state where the primary functionality of the device is compromised.
    2. Your users are not PC only users. I'm on Mac and Linux and never owned a computer with windows for the last 10 years. As simple port of AppLoader for mac (or java version that runs on most operating systems) would be a great win when something like this happens.
    3. blackberry needs a way to back up the whole phone. phone, data and apps in one go. its not no fun to reload all the apps one at a time when something like this happens. i've spent like 6 hours in the 30 days just to restore all the apps i've been using (2hrs per failure).
I'm not really asking for help. i'm just ranting because i'm very frustrated with the phone now even though i like it. But i'm reconsidering my choice now as i know that android based phones do all the stuff i need w/o bricking itself for a buggy 3rd party applications. I would like to see these issues fixed, if not, I probally won't be a RIM customer for long.
    Cheers
    /Ven

Hello and Welcome to the Forums!
We are so sorry that you are having so many difficulties. While many experience the same (a search here will reveal that fact), there are also many who have very positive experiences with their BB. Not every device is suitable for everyone -- which IMHO is why there are so many choices.
I can't quite tell...but if you are hoping that RIM will see your message -- these forums are a user-to-user support channel, not a user-to-RIM conduit. As such, it is unlikely that they will see what you have written. However, if you have specific and constructive ideas for them, I have heard that they accept such via email to [email protected]
Front line support for BB's is, by contract, not provided by RIM. The carriers and authorized resellers are responsible for front line formal support to end users. It is possible to bypass your carrier and seek assistance direct from RIM, but such involves fees since you are bypassing your support agreement with your carrier. The "Support and Services" tab toward the top of these forum pages provide information about that. But, if you do go through your carrier for support, they can escalate into RIM at no fee to you if they so choose to. Given what you describe, I actually advise taking it in for warranty evaluation (assuming the warranty is still valid, of course).
    Good luck!

  • Reload Software 552 Error message work around

I'm desperate.. and climbing out of my skin
The long and the short of it: I have an 8520 and I got an error message of 'Relooad Software 552', but I can't get it to load
I was able to tether the phone and get into the Application Loader, even though the PIN doesn't display on the Desktop Manager (5.0.0.8)
I tried doing it with the Add/Remove Applications and with the Update Software. It gets through the first two phases, then it just hangs up
I tried calling T-Mobile, who put me in touch with BlackBerry... sorry, but I don't have a lot of confidence with the people over the phone. It doesn't help that they try to talk down to me.....
    No matter, it's not working
On my old phone, the BB Pearl 8220, a tecnican was trying to do something back door, where we went into the files on my hard drive and used a Loader there (?).
    Can someone maybe help me?
If I could get the phone to work, I would be willing to keep this handset and not bother with the new handset that BB is sending to me.
I want this to work. I NEED my phone. I'm inconvenienced with a loaner phone (no bells/whistles... yuck)
    Any one?
([email protected]  although I can't see the responses so quickly as there is no email on this loaner phone)

  • Help reload software 552 !

Hello ! It is the second time my blackberry 8520 does the "reload software" problem. The first time I updated the OS cause the pc recognized my device. This time it doesnt ! I've tried to remove the battery ,put it back on but nothing works .  Could it be cause the device isnt charged enough ?
     Thanks in advance

is that there are times when we download and install a specific os to install on our blackberry, no matter the method we use
(destokp manager, apploader) wanting to load the os, it turns either dm or apploader does not recognize that you have installed on the pc therefore can not perform the flash, if it is true and you know you have to delete the vendor file
(C: \ Program Files \ common Files \ Research In Motion \ AppLoader),
it is also true that there sometimes that is not enough, here is the explanation of why, in fact there are two vendor files, which are installed on different routes, we have to do is simply delete this second vendor file and thus must go to this path
C: \ Documents and Settings \ Administrator \ Application Data \ Research In Motion \ BlackBerry \ Loader XML
(before should go to tools, folder options, view, and enable show hidden files and folders, if they do not be able to visualize this)
then delete it, ready to try flashing again, this time if your will be recognized, regardless of the method that uses luck I hope will be useful

  • 8520 curve error "Reload Software 552"

I don't know how to fix error message. I can not get pass the white screen saying Reload software 552. As soon as i take the battery out then put the battery back in it goes to that screen. HOW DO I GET PASSS that screen????????
    Thank You
    Czabless

    Hey there Czabless
Unfortunately a hard reset will not work you will have to reload the software to your device. In order to do that you will need to download and install both the blackberry desktop manager as well as the blackberry device software to your computer.
KB11320 - Clean reload with desktop software
KB16251 - Clean Reload without desktop manager software
These should give you what you need to get rid of this error message
*Note if you are running VIsta or Win 7 make sure you turn off the User Account Controls as this will help the installation process go a whole lot smoother.

  • Frozen Phone saying ; "Reload Software: 552" ?? Help !!!!!!!!!!

My screen is frozen on a WHITE SCREEN, with the words "Reload Software 552". I have taken the battery out and had no corrections to this issue.
I admit that in the 3 days that I have had my new BB Tour from Verizon, that I downloaded plenty of Apps from BB App world and some from Crackberry.com. Are these the causes for the FREEZE ?
Can I just reload the software from my BB Desktop Manager ?
How can I prevent this from happening again ?

  • Error Msg - reload software 552

Hi everyone, Can someone help me pls
I downloaded the Blackberry Protect, it asked me to reboot. I did and it came back with RELOAD SOFTWARE 552.
Its not coming on apart from that message.
I have tried taking out and putting back both the battery and sim card, nothing is working.
    Please what can i do

    Hi
This what I did to completely wipe my BB. I wrote this before starting and printed it off.
If your device is functioning, perform a backup now if you haven't already done so saving the file to a place and in a name that you can easily locate on computer.
I then uninstalled DTM and then deleted all other references to BB/Rim in Windows Explorer thus removing the OS for the BB from the computer in order to ensure that the version I would reinstall would be a brand new downloaded version.
Get the latest Desk Top Software
    http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/?CPID=OTC-DSKTPSW&cp=OTC-DSKTPSW
and install it on the computer.
Get the correct latest version of the OS
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    and save it to computer.
To erase all the data on your BlackBerry device, complete the following steps. This option is available with
BlackBerry Device Software 3.8 and later.
    1. In the device Options, click Security.
If you are using BlackBerry Device Software 4.1, click Security Options > General Security.
    2. Click the trackwheel and select Wipe Handheld.
    3. Click Continue.
    4. Type “blackberry”. All the data on the BlackBerry device is erased.
On some new versions of BlackBerry software, the menu navigation is slightly different.
    1. Go to Options.
    2. Select Security Options.
    3. Select General Settings.
    4. Click the Menu key.
    5. Select Wipe Handheld.
    6. Click Continue.
    7. Type “blackberry”. All the data on the BlackBerry device is erased.
Launch the new Desk Top Software on the computer
    1. Connect your device to your computer.
    2. On the home screen of the BlackBerry® Desktop Software, click Update my device.
    3. Do one of the following:
    * To download an update, click Get update.
    * To view other available versions of the BlackBerry Device Software, click View other versions. If applicable, click another version. Click Install.
Ensure the new OS is the one you prevously downloaded.
Do not disconnect the device until the whole process is completed and the device has rebooted.
After 10 minutes reboot again by removing the battery whilst powered-on and leave it out for a couple of minutes.
Leave it again for 10 minutes. You should now have a fully functioning BB!
