Help requested on how to stop FlashPlayer attempting to install on a Windows ME OS

Can anyone help me please to find a solution to an irksome
problem which is caused by Flash Player trying to install on my
laptop, on which it is not supported. I am repeatedly receiving
popup messages which say “you are trying to install Adobe
Flash Player ActiveX on an unsupported operating system. For Flash
Players System requirements please see-------“ Clicking on
yes will make the popup disappear until the next time (within 15
minutes). Apart from being a nuisance I believe it is causing a
serious reduction in Broadband speed on that laptop. It is running
at about 25% of the speed of two other Computers on my LAN..
I have run the Adobe FlashPlayer uninstaller in the hope that
it might remove any elements of the ActiveX program that is trying
to install it. While it appeared to remove some files (see below),
on the next reboot the PoPup error messages return.
Details shown after running the FlashPlayer uninstaller
Output folder: C:\Windows\Temp
Extract: Flashutil.exe
Delete file C:\Windows\System|Macromed\Flash\install log
Remove folder: C:\Windows\System|Macromed\Flash\
Completed.

If you can't get AOL to talk you thru it, then it's time to stop using AOL.
You are paying extra for a useless service. You already pay (and HAVE TO PAY) to the internet company that gives you the internet modem and conneciton to the internet, and they are be giving you 1-5 free email addresses with that account. (call them if you never set them up).
There is no guarantee you don't have a problem with your mail setup on your computer, but this is the right time for you to set up your [email protected] accounts, download all your AOL mail including your address book (FROM AOL'S WEBISTE via Safari) to your hard drive, make sure you are using an external drive with Time Machine and doing daily if not hourly backups, and start sending emails to your friends and family and business from the new mail account(s).
Otherwise you can call someone who saves computers and AOL accounts for a living and pay them $25- $100 hour....

I've installed Oracle Database 10g XE on my windows xp desktop.When ever my machine is getting starting oracle xe is taking a lot of time for startup.
I would like to disable the oracle xe from my startup , i can start up or stop the db anytime later using the links in start menu.
Can any one let me know how to disable oracle xe from startup.If it was any other normal programs i would have done that from the msconfig program->Startup.
Any suggesstions/solutions would be very helpful.

How to stop pages 5 update installing

the Pages 5 update has somehow appeared in my itunes app list (the previous version is no longer there).
However, as I have not yet updated my iPad to iOS7, when syncing I get the message 'Pages was not installed as it needs a newer version of iOS'
Now that I want to accept the update my iPad to iOS7, how do I stop the Pages upgrade installing automatically? I really cannot use pages 5 in it's present state and just want to stick with my existing version

If you update to iOS7 you will lose the previous iPad Pages and it will be updated to the latest version Pages 2.0?
The added complication is that Apple is passing all your documents through iCloud whioch is altering them to the latest Pages 5 format.
Apple is pushing you relentlessly to stuffing up your files one way or the other.
The only way out is to use the iPad as is in iOS 6, or in isolation. Passing documents to your Mac via iTunes or eMail.

What happens if you attempt to install CS6 on Windows Vista?

"We will, however, be dropping official support for Windows Vista (Please note: although Windows Vista is not officially supported, we do not restrict users from installing and using Photoshop CS6 on their Vista Systems)"
Could someone please clarify exactly what this means, in practical terms, if I attempt to install CS6 on my mother's computer which is running Vista? Thanks for your help.

Means Adobe has not written code nor tested Photoshop CS6 in Vista.
You're free to try it on Vista but there's no guarantee that it'll work.
Some have done so with no issues. Others say they get funky behaviour sometimes.
In short, you're on your own with any issues and Adobe will not officially support that configuration - although the user-to-user forums may try.

How to Stop the Iview from Opening a New Window automatically

I have imported a BW roles that has 3 folders for different reports into the portal.
I would like the reports to display in a new window and have set the paramater "Launch in New Window" = "Display in New Window".
I have also set the parameter "Initial State Open or Closed" = "Close".
When I click on one of the tabs (represented by the role folder) the first report automatically opens in a new window.
I would only like this report to open when the user clicks on the report in the folder. Can anyone advise on any other setting that needs to be made?

Yes, the the Default Entry for Folder property is set to NO.
The first report in the folder still automatically launches a new window for the report.
There does not appear to be a setting "Clicking Folder Name Launches First Node" for the folder.
As a workaround I have created a page and added the following 2 settings.
1. Invisible in Navigation Areas = Yes.
2. Default entry for folder = Yes.
I would prefer to avoid this workaround so if anyone can provide any help it would be appreciated.

in my program, there is a functionality such as this: user clicks the button and then system generate a new window(new Jframe),
but the posistion in the screen where the window was generated is fixed, everytime it pops up at the left side of my main frame, I am just wondering is there a way of seting the posistion of the window which will pop up?

Sure. Read the JFrame API. Look at all the setXXX methods and you will find one that allows you to set the location of the frame on the desktop.

How to script the discovery of installed SAP instances (Windows)?

I manage like two dozen of servers, some of which are pure sandboxes for Basis Persons. I sometime come over and discover a Java add-on to an existing ABAP instance, a new instance running...
I have followed the many threads about scripting shutdown & startup of known instances and it's quite easy to do. I initially made some scripts on each server to address the installed instances, but as they change, it pretty much forces me to go back and adjust.
There must be a simpler way!
So I want to discover all the running SAP instances (SID) on a given server, then the system numbers attached to any existing SID. Once I can query this on a server, I will be able to stop all SAP instances properly.
So how do you script the discovery of installed SAP instances (SID) and their respective components (instance 0, 1, ...)?
For the record, I use Windows shutdown scripts to systematically run a script that stops SAP instances, so my Windows Admin friends can reboot the servers without concern. I use a conditional Windows startup script to start all SAP instances when Windows starts, only if we want it to (i.e. planned maintenance is a good idea to want SAP to start automatically, all other reboot is definitly not a good idea).

My HP Touchsmart has failed today to successfully upload an MS service pack update today for Windows 7 and has gone into a loop of trying to install and then revert the update. The machine is unserviceable now. What can you suggest to get me going again. I am sending this message from another machine.

Scroll down to halfway the page where it says "Restoring when Windows 7 cannot start normally". This will do a Microsoft System restore to an earlier time so for example to yesterday. You will be able to select a restore point in a list which you will get during this process. Go back to for example 1 day before this problem occurred.

How to overcome error 1500 when installing reader on Windows 8?

Trying to install Acrobat Reader on Windows 8. After downloading, I keep getting an error 1500 (another installation is progress). I've tried doing the recommended registry edit (removing an "inprogess" key -- it's not there) and running msiexec/unreg and msiexec/regserver. After taking these steps and trying again, error 1500 occurs at the same point. Is this a Windows 8 issue? Anyone know of a solution?

Try downloading the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
Restart Windows to make sure nothing is running, then run the downloaded installer.

We create BP with role prospect in CRM, once the prospect is ready to buy the product we conver the prospet in to customer and thesame customer is replicated in R/3 fro sales.
What i am looking at is for the customer we created in CRM if we change any data that should be updated in r/3..it may be nay like name address ...language....etc.....
can u help me out...as u told me to unassig/delete the subcription:All Business partner(MESG) under that we have --

Thanks for the additional info. as per previously mentioned use SM37 - however be sure to check the box ''Sched' when performing the search for the job in question (and untick the others so the resulting list will be clearer to read etc.)
You can then choose to delete the job and reschedule it to different periods via SM36
