Ok, call me stupid - please do but this is my last hope to sort out my particular problem.
I know there have been other posts on the subject but they have not helped my particualr problem I am afraid.
Here we go:
I bought and installed an audigy 2 NX - great sound, everything worked etc, did an auto update and from there on it has been an absolute disaster to the point I am feeling that the only thing left is to completely wipe my hard dri've and start all from scratch!! - don't want to if possible.
I can get sound but that is all? I can not access any of the programmes such as the eax centre, speaker settings etc - they exist as icons but will not open. I can not remove these programmes as they say there are files missing? I have tried wiping the creative stuff as per the instructions on this website but can not get rid of the applications through add/remove. I have tried to reinstall from the original disk but to no avail, all I get is a sound that is akin to a person with 'bad wind' and to get my sound back I have to rollback windows to the stage where yes there is sound but no access to the software applications?
My on-board sound is disabled, I have usb 2, there are no clashes with any other devices that I can see and the **bleep** thing worked fine until I did the autoupdate - can anyone please give me some advice to try and sort this problem out - I have tried everything I can but it looks like it is going to need a real hand holding session to talk me through removing all of the creative software etc from my pc!

I too hav the NX and can not say that i have experienced this.
Though their is nothing wrong with the autoupdater as i actually formatted my machine this weekend and used it fine. (I format every 3 months)
If you can not uninstall the software or even re-install it i think you might have to format. Just make another partition using partition magic, back your stuff up to and and sit for 3 hours doing windows updates and driver instalations.

More keying help required-and removing someone's neck
I'm keying out a presenter who's head is pink, which was filmed against green screen. The problem we're having is that there is 'shimmering' around his head when it's cut out, why is this and how do I get rid of it?
Also, his neck is in shot which is pink too, but we've now decided to cut it out. What's the easiest and best way of doing this? I could just place a garbage matte or something but that would cut it in a straight line which would look odd.
It does look good and is keyed out quite well, it's just we want just the head now rather than the neck, and the shimmering is quite annoying.
Any help is very much appreciated!If you shot it on DV, basic chromakeying tools that come with FCP are not going to be adequate. You might want to try the keyers in Motion. Personally, I find the advice to go to Photoshop silly, but that's just me and I loathe Photoshop. You have everything you need in FCP including keyers and Bezier garbage matte generators, you just don't know how to use them yet.
The project would have gone easier if you had made some experiments and maybe posted some questions before you went to production. We might have suggested a better shooting format. a yellow or pink backlight (to give you some chroma separation on the hair detail that is now shimmering) and that you use a blue or green key suit that goes up to the chin. Deciding to cut it out after shooting is a bad decision and one of those things that pre-visualization can prevent.
You can also google "chromakeying" and narrow it to DV. Also try kenstone.net for a good article on getting the most out of the FCP/DV keyers.

Download from the Internet OmniDiskSweeper (free) and open it. It will show all of your files on your MBP. See if you can locate them with this utility.

New build with big bang x-power board. Any help welcome and appreciated.
Started new build with big bang x-power board, i7 960 processor, 3 x 4gb mushkin cl7 ram and imation m-class 128gb solid state drive running Windows 7 ultimate x64. This particular SSD is probably just temporary. Since I don't have the SSD I really want (yet) and this 1 was given to me at no cost, by a friend who really hated it, I thought it would suit my current needs. The specs & reviews were not encouraging, but they were not exactly "terrible" either.
Anyway, I was unable to install the OS on the Imation drive, while connected to a sata2 port. Got repeat bsod despite many variations in settings, including fail safe defaults. After clearing cmos and switching to a sata3 port, I got it to install no problem after putting settings back to cpu voltge: 1.35, dram voltage: 1.65, mode: AHCI and all others: default with only 1 RAM module seated.
So... I think this may be a BIOS issue and was hoping someone could point me to the most recent BIOS version available for me to update my BBXP board. I believe v1.6 is what i'm looking for, unless my info is outdated. Since my plan is ultimately to run the OS from an SSD using a sata2 port, I definitely want to resolve this, and hopefully any other issues with the v1.0 BIOS that I just haven't encountered yet.Thanks again HU16E, and sorry for any confusion and/or lack of information. I'm guess you can tell i'm still new at this, but I'll try to do better with specifics in the future -please forgive me.
SSD = Solid State Drive. The brand of this particular solid state drive is "Imation" and the series is "M-Class." It is a sataII device that would not install the OS while connected to any of the sataII ports on the board. Initial attempt was made with all settings on auto. When that didn't work, I adjusted voltages because it seemes unstable with repeat freezes and restarts. The install seemed to start ok with adjusted voltages but still would not complete.
I then moved the sataII drive to a sataIII (marvell) port, put all settings back on auto and the install went further (loaded files, copied files, expanded files, etc) but would froze several times during windows start up attempt. I then changed cpu & dram voltages back to the adjusted values I tried when the drive was connected to the sataII port and everything worked fine. Tested under load for 4 hours and no problems of any kind. Its still working now. I do however suspect I will have many more problems when I move the solid state back to a sataII port, or when I add my other Hard Disk Drives.
BIOS version showed: 1.0.0 but i can check again to assure I didn't misread anything in my haste. If i'm mistaken, I will post the correction. Hope I answered everything the way you wanted & didn't just make matters worse and more confusing lol. thanks for the link as well, i'll check on it asap -
Downloaded Yosemite and since then cannot connect to internet or bluetooth mouse - was advised to delete system configuration file from the hard drive and since then cannot start up computer. Any help would be appreciated - cheers.
Boot the MBP with the OPTION+COMMAND+R keys down. The result should be a display showing a revolving globe. By following the instructions, you will be able to reinstall the original OSX. Then you may reinstall Yosemite.
A solid Internet connection will be required.

I have tried and failed to copy my iTunes library and playlists from my Windows 8 desktop to my Windows 7 laptop using an external hard drive. Can it be done? Help would be appreciated. I have followed instructions found online but the library of music doesn't pull in. Thanks!
NateMigrate an iTunes library from one computer to another
These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entireiTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one, with ratings, play counts, playlists etc. preserved. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd normally recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library and unlike copying with Windows Explorer the process can be resumed if it is interrupted and it will continue to the next item if there are any read/access errors.
Note if you have iOS devices and haven't moved your contacts and calendar items across then you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See Make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then seeRecover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

Help required with Photoshop Elements 4.0 this has been installed on my new Toshiba laptop with windows 8.1 for some 18 months and operating well. Now it will not open, message pops up saying “attempt to access invalid address” then “application not responding” Suggestions how to access would be much appreciated. Tks. Stuart
What is the size of your hard disk? PSE 4 is a very old program and I suspect it is not able to access the entire hard disk on your machine. Just a thought here.

Just got Mac book pro. I can't connect to office remotely thru the remote window. My office is window based and I have no problem connecting while at the office thru the server but cannot at home. Any help would be appreciated!

That teh MacBook cannot connect with RWW because it requires Active-X to connect. That MAc browsers (Safari) do not use Active-X but only Windows (IE) uses Active-X control.
It would seem to me that there must be a way around this. Any help?

My 4th Gen iPod Touch won't open up the apps I've downloaded. I've tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the app and it seems to only be a temporary fix. The reset and reboot didn't work either. Help would be appreciated.
In more specific terms. The apps that came on the iPod like the weather and maps and whatnot have been working flawlessly. It's just when I download an app and then disconnect from wifi it's almost like I'm on a timer until the app stops working. It acts like it wants to open, the screen flashes black then resets to the home pages. I've tried all of the basic fixes, rebooting, reseting, uninstalling then reinstalling. But like in my...long...question, the reinstalling option only seems to be a temporary fix. I just recently downloaded the 5.1.1 udate (I think that's what it was) does that have anything to do with it, or am I just derpy when it comes to iPods?Try the other suggestions here:

I'm using a 3GS (4.3.3) and itunes 10 2.2.12
When trying to sync my music my phone begins the syncing process, back up and preparing etc. Once it begins actually syncing it seems to get stuck on song 2 of 1500. After about 5-10mins a message appears saying song 2 of 1500 can not be copied because it can not be copied or read. Thats it. It doesn't try to sync the rest it just stops. The music is definitely available and it seems to have no problems syncing any podcasts. Any help would be appreciated. ThanksRemove the song in question from the sync list and see if the rectifies the problem.
If it does, then iTunes believes the song no longer exists on your drive and that will need to be corrected. -
