Help required for post path from 442 1080p Prores to h264 for PAL blu-ray project

Hi all
Iam deperately trying to output a blu-ray disc for film festivals for a feature we have made.
We need to have high res and 5.1 sound PAL.
I just need the settings for the H264.I have been on many different forums looking but no luck.
This is where Im at.
DPX 24fps from Da Vinci Resolve to 1920x1080 Pro res 422.@24fps (resolve does not support 1920 H264).
Can some-one give me a definitive path for this?
It needs to convert to 25fps at some point as well.
I have my 5.1 sound worked out via compressor.
Getting desperate
Thank you

  • CS4: maximum buttons for a blu-ray project

    Hi,
I've a project with 6 languages (about 180 Buttons each language).
I burned it as a normal SD-DVD. No problems there.
But when I tried to burn it as a BD I get a error message.
The Original message is german and could look more or less like this in english:
Blu-ray-Object: "<Button>Menu/1", Error: "Counter overflow", Code: "2", Message: "maximum 999 titles per project (Spec Annex B)"
Does that mean that you can use a maximum of just 999 Buttons for a blu-ray project? Or what else could that mean?
If I can just use 999 Buttons how should I realize a project with more Buttons? I mean, 1k Buttons are not unusual for a Service-DVD.
    Greetings from Germany
    Christoph

This Encore FAQ Entry lists the supported BD formats in Encore.

  • DVD Remote "skip" Function Doesn't Work for Blu-ray Projects (CS5 Encore)

I have graduated from SD to HD and I need help.
I just finished my first HD project in CS5, burned it to a Blu-ray disk and immediately encountered a problem: the skip forward and the skip backward remote functions don’t work. (I have encountered several other problems on the way to get here but I solved those with the help of the manual and by browsing this forum ). In this project, I am doing exactly what I have done in my previous SD projects (where this function works):
In CS5 Encore, I added “Chapter Points at Intervals…”.
On the timeline Properties Panel, I kept the default selection “Operations: All Permitted” (that includes “Search for Chapter” in the “Permitted User Operations” menu).
In the “Project Preview” window, clicking on the “Next Chapter” or “Previous Chapter”, the function is executed correctly.
Still, after burning the blu-ray disk and pressing the “skip forward” or “skip backward” buttons on the Blu-ray player (Panasonic DMP-BD65) remote, the “Operation is not permitted” message appears. (This very remote button function works on all my SD projects.)
More background info: I am also using Encore Chapter Markers from the PrPro project linked with Adobe Dynamic Link, chapter marker End Actions (Jeff’s The Focal Easy Guide to Adobe Encore DVD 2.0, pp. 178-180), and Bill’s advice on using the “dip to black” transition to avoid the ~1 second gap between chapters in the Chapter Playlist that I use to play all chapters.  The following observation may be unrelated: in Encore’s Monitor Panel, the “Step Forward” button with pressing the Alt key does not move the CTI to the next GOP mark. The “Step Forward” or “Step Backward” functions (without pressing the Alt key) work (moving the CTI one frame)..
At this point, I desperately need the Forum’s help.
    Thanks,
         - Laci.

Up to now I worked only with standard definition projects and outputted them
to DVDs. This is my HD project. My problem is that I am a bit confused with
the proper (and simple) settings for a blu-ray project. Your
questions/comments imply that I am making a "DVD project" - but then, how
can I burn it to a BD?
Here is what I am doing, and please, let me know if/where I am making my
    mistake:
    1.       On the camcorder the recording format is set to "AVCHD 1080/60i
    HA".
    2.       In the CS5 PrPro new project:
    a.       General > Capture Format: HDV
    b.      New Sequence > Sequence Preset > AVCHD > "AVCHD 1080i30 (60i)".
    3.       In Encore: File >  Project Settings > Basic:
    a.       Authoring Mode: "Blu-ray"
    b.      Transcode Settings: "Codec: MPEG-2; Dimensions: 1920 x 1080; Frame
Rate: 29.97, Fields: Upper Field First, Audio Transcoding Scheme: Dolby
Digital, Maximum Audio/Video Bitrate: 15.0 Mbps"
    c.       In the "Default Transcode Settings" window, the Blu-ray tab is
highlighted. (There, I could change the codec from MPEG-2 to H.264 -
according to some articles it would give slightly better quality in certain
    circumstances - I don't know.)
    d.      On the Encore Project Panel, right clicking on the sequences, and
choosing "Transcode Settings" from the menu, I get a window that says "DVD
Transcoding" and "Blu-ray Transcoding". In the Blu-ray Transcoding section,
I choose Codec: MPEG-2, Dimension 1920x1080, Frame Rate: 29.97, Quality
    Preset: Automatic Using Project Settings.
    e.       Going into the "Edit Quality Presets", I change the "Export
Settings Preset" to "1920x1080i 29.97 Maximum Quality" (from the 1280x720)
    4.       Now, in the Project Panel, under the Blu-ray Transcode Settings I
    see: "1920x1080i 29.97 Maximum Quality MPEG-2".
Are these the correct settings for a high quality Blu-ray project? I am
re-transcoding the project with these settings to see if I still get the bad
    transitions.
    Thanks for your advice,
    Laci.

  • Is it possible to create DVD Templates with Motion for burning Blue Ray DVDs from Final Cut Pro X?

Is it possible to create DVD Templates with Motion for burning Blue Ray DVDs from Final Cut Pro X?

As far as I know, motion templates can only be used with DVD Studio Pro. FCP X only lets you add a background image to the DVD menu.

  • Can I use a WRT54GX2 as wireless bridge for my Blue Ray to an E1000 wireless router?

I recently replaced my WRT54GX2 router with an E1000 for networking in my home.  I now have a Blu-Ray disk player, and thought I may be able to use the old WRT54GX2 to wirelessly bridge a network connection for the Blu-Ray.  I am having trouble fignuring out how to configure it, if possible at all.  Any help would be appreciated

A WRT and a E1000 are wireless routers, i.e. router with an integrated wireless access points. They accept client connections. They don't connect to other access points. They always require a wired connection to your main network.
Running a wire is the best solution anyway, in particular for video streaming and similar.

  • Trying to Create DVD from Blu-Ray Project

I'm a fairly new user to Encore CS4.   I was able to successfully create a Blu-Ray project using HD video - the actual video is a little over 3 hours.   It took about 30 hours for the project to transcode and burn.   I'm now trying to take that same project and created a single layer DVD.   I'm really struggling with this even though the software says I should be able to do this.    So I set all my settings up to create the DVD and started the process.   It was trancoding the video for 6 straight days!!!!!    When it finally got finished with the transcoding process I got an error that said this aspect ration was not supported by DVD!!!   So I'm confused at what I'm doing wrong.   First, I don't think the transcoding process should be taking that long.   Second, if the aspect ration is not correct, could it tell me that before it spends 6 days transcoding the video?    Third, I'm trying to burn the DVD using the same 16:6 widescreen aspect ratio, so I'm not sure why it's telling me the aspect ratio is not correct.    But what frustrates me the most is that it took wasted days before the software told me it didn't like the aspect ratio.
I know there's products on the market that will basically copy a Blu Ray to a DVD and are supposed to do that in something like 4 -5 hours.  Why on earth would Encore be taking 6 days to transcode my video.
Anyway, if anyone has any ideas please let me know.
    Thanks!

Thanks, I'll try these suggestions next.  I had found a post from "janaiott" suggesting to select "interpret footage" then choose "conform to SD NTSC Widescreen".   They said that worked for them.   This post was titled "Use the same project to export to both BR and DVD?"
I tried that and restarted the build.  The video transcoding went much quicker - instead of running for 6 days it finished in 2 days.   However, at the end of the transcode process I once again recieved the aspect ratio error.   My exact error is:
PGD "Sequence 01/Band.prproj" has an error at 88.8888s.  The aspect ratio of this file is not supported by DVD. - PGC info:  Sequence 01/Band.prproj =Bpgc, time=88.8888s.
I'm still just baffled why Encore can't be smart enough to tell me it doesn't like what I'm doing before it spends all that time - what a waste of time!  I really don't mind waiting 2 days as long it works
If anyone else has any suggestions, please post - but I will move on to the next suggestion and see what happens.  Just too bad it will take at least 2 days to know whether it works or not

  • CS3 "Come for the blue-ray stay for the flash" crashing (MY SOLUTION)

    Hello everybody,
I had some serious trouble starting up Encore CS3 in WinXP. Seeing the "Come for the blue-ray stay for the flash" -message and then Encore CS3 closing up. As for someone else in the forums, starting Adobe Version Cue before trying to start Encore solved the problem.
Now a year later, I faced the same problem with Vista 64bit and with totally different hardware. For many people unplugging certain USB-drives or devices has solved the problem, but for me it didn´t help, neither in XP nor Vista. I remembered the solution from XP and started up Adobe Bridge CS3, then chose "Version Cue" -> "Start server". This action opens up a browser and asks for server information. I inserted nothing, tried to start Encore CS3 and it worked!
Hope my experiences will help some of you who are struggling with the same problem.

OMG, thanks so much for this solution... I have searched high and low for a solution, and I have also tried reinstalling countless times.  My only question is do you have to start that server every time you start up encore?  Also do you know what is causing this to happen that you need to start the server?

  • CS4 for burning Blu-rays?

I'm thinking about upgrading from CS3 to CS4 and was wondering if the Encore CS4 was more reliable for burning blu-rays than CS3. I have been receiving all sorts of errors that have been driving me nuts.
I'm using a Matrox Axio LE with windows XP.

Of course a single movie would be broken up to compress in smaller parts. It's called segmented processing. It's what Qmaster does when you set up a distributed processing network. But you need more than one computer to make it worth while, and they have to be networked on, minimum, a gigabit network, but preferably on a faster Fibre network.
The problem that comes with job segmenting is if you use a variable bit rate, because the bit rate information isn't shared between/amongst the nodes. If you use a CBR, you're all set, but like I said, it won't matter unless you have more than one computer, and you're limited by the slowest computer in the chain, as well as the network.
If you use less than a gigabit connection, the time it takes to transfer the information to and from the cluster controller, and then reconstitute the final video is more than the time it would take to just do it on a single computer.

  • Export 1080 x 1440 to HD stream for later blu ray authour

This might be more of a compressor question really but whats the best way to export 1080 x 1440 to HD stream for later blu ray authour.
In compressor I have 2 settings, 1 is a 60 min h264 HD. Is this what I should use so I can make a Hi Def master when the time comes?
    Daz

Have the same problem. My solution: If you don't need advanced authoring, simply buy Toast 9 with HD plugin, export your footage from FCP as Apple ProRes and drag to Toast - it will do all the encoding in h264 (no more MPEG2)... My problem with this workflow is, that Toast supports only 2 channels of audio, so I'm going to but DVDit HD, which supports LPCM 7.1. Then I export as ProRes from FCP, make h264 BD compactible stream in Toast and make the authorization in DVDit HD... This is the best solution I figured out (I need 7.1 surround)...

  • Best format to export to Encore for a Blu-Ray disc ?

    To All
My question is I shoot with a Canon Vixia HFR21. I am putting together a family vacation we all just had at Disney World. My computer is capable of handling everything very well.I had it built 2 years ago by ADK.I need to know once I have everything set on timeline and all is ready to export, what exact setting in Media Encoder would be best considering I will be bringing it then into Encore to burn on Blu ray disc.
I have Adobe cs6 Premiere and Encore.
Also after I make the Blu ray I will put exact same time line on regular dvd..from what I read for that I think I should export to mpeg-2 ..I'm not sure .
Also for both blue ray and dvd, which is better ipcm or dolby digital audio ?
    Thanks a lot,
    Ray Perry

    Hi Ray,
From Premiere, export via AME and choose the "H.264 Blu-ray" format, and then for preset, get what best matches your footage, for instance maybe 1080i 29.97
You will need to choose a bitrate in line with the length of the program so that you don't exceed the disc capacity. Just search the web for "bitrate calculator" and plug in your details. No need to be in the 30-40 range, something like 25 using H.264 will look fantastic. I believe at "20" you can fit well over 2 hours on a Blu-ray disc. Dolby audio is the default.
For DVD, again Export via AME but choose "MPEG-2 DVD" and proper preset like "NTSC Widescreen", and set bit rate. Don't exceed 7 or 8 on that, and you can use 560/minutes=rate as a rule of thumb and round down slightly. For instance 560/120=4.66 so I encode at 4.5, again using default Dolby Audio.
I'm not keen on sharing the same Encore project for the Blu-ray and DVD, but that's up to you. Note that you can add DVD chapter marks in your Premiere timeline and when you export, those go with. In Encore, use "Import As > Timeline" and grab the audio and video clip at the same time and the chapter marks come along for the ride!
    Thanks

  • Encore a good choice for authoring Blu-ray videos with complex menus?

I currently use FCP X for editing videos of live band performances. I have been dissapointed in Toast Titanium for aurthoring the resulting Blu-ray videos because of the limited menu options.......I will often have 30 separate videos on a Blu-ray disk (one per song).
I am considering buying Premiere Pro CS6 to obtain Encore because I have been told it provides more complex menu options.
    (1) Are you happy with Encore for aurthoring Blu-ray videos?
    (2) Would I also need to buy After Effects?
I ask the 2nd question because I have watched an excellent "Authoring with Adobe Encore" tutorial here:
    http://www.precomposed.com/tutorials/products/pro_motion_menu_kits/Encore_Authoring/
These folks offer some nice looking Menu Kits
    http://www.precomposed.com/products/pro_motion_menu_kits/
but they use After Effects as well as Encore.
    Thanks for the help.

For your #1 question, you might want to go to that forum http://forums.adobe.com/community/encore

  • Help required for improving performance of the Query

    Hello SAP Techies,
I have MRP Query which shows Inventory projection by Calendar Year/Month wise.
There are 2 variables Plant and Material in free charateristics where it has been restricted by replacement of Query result .
Another query is Control M Query which is based on multiprovider. Multiprovider is created on 5 cubes.
The Query is taking 20 -15 Mins to get the result.
Due to replacement path by query result for the 2 variables first the control M Query is excuted. Business wanted to see all those materials in MRP query which are allocated to base plant hence they designed the query to use replacement Path by Query result. So it will get all the materials and plants from the control M query and will find the Invetory projection for the same selection in MRP query.
Is there any way I can improve the performance of the Query.
Query performance has been discussed innumerable times in the forums and there is a lot of information on the blogs and the WIKI - please search the forums before posting and if the existing posts do no answer your question satisfactorily then please raise a new post - else almost all the answers you get will be rehashed versions of previous posts ( and in most cases without attribution to the original author )

    Hi ,
Please see if you can make these changes currently to the report . It will help in improving the performance of the query
    1. Select the right read mode.
Reading data during navigation minimizes the impact on
the application server resources because only data that
the user requires will be retrieved.
    2. Leverage filters as much as possible. Using filters contributes to
reducing the number of database reads and the size of the result set,
        hereby significantly improving query runtimes.
Filters are especially valuable when associated with u201Cbig
dimensionsu201D where there is a large number of characteristics such as
        customers and document numbers.
    3. Reduce RKFs in the query to as few as possible. Also, define
calculated & RKFs on the Infoprovider level instead of locally within the query.
    Regards
    Garima

(my bold)Would that really apply to someone downloading threads regarding users in their own company? How is that different than setting watches? Is this really redistribution? (Now that I'm thinking about it, maybe yes... the line between archiving and redistribution blurs with a knowledge base.)
The fact that this is all available to google makes a claim of reserved interest in a boilerplate TOS kind of suspect.
Each post is the intellectual property of the poster, who would be the "third party provider," right? Most companies I know of specify that any use of company owned stuff belongs to the company, so if someone is posting from a company, that company makes the decision on whether it can keep posts, not Oracle. This is obviously a gray area, varying by place and time and maybe even content. SSO really warps this, too.
Of course, if the OP means keeping other users content in their own knowledgebase, that seems clearly prohibited. [So do not dare to click here|http://lmgtfy.com/?q=blushadow+site%3Aforums.oracle.com]! ;-)
