Help Required - Need to add current user as superuser

Is there a way to add my user account to the superuser group in Solaris 10? I need to install some pretty heavy software which involves unpacking and repacking war files so would like to be superuser throughout. I am using a VM and am not concerned with security as it has no network connections and is host only.
Any advice appreciated as I am a complete newbie - lol!

While it is truly a bad idea to do this, it is possible. The safest way is to use sudo. The easiest (and worst, most dangerous way) is to change the UID and GID in /etc/passwd to 0 (same as root) for your account. If you do this, and I urge you not to do it, don't forget to change them back to the original values when you are done. It is too easy to be in the wrong directory as root and do a rm -rf *. That simple mistake cost me most of a Sunday fixing the damage years ago. And I'll bet I'm not the only one to screw up like that.
In deference of this response, its a learning thing. The OP should know what UID and GID can do so as not to spend a day off in the office fixing mistakes. I blew out the entire /etc directory tree when I was a young pup who thought he knew it all.

Need to print Current user Name in crystal report in B1

Hi all,
In Crystal reports there are 2 current user fields
CurrentCEUserName
and CurrentCEUserID
I have tried to add these fields to the footer of my reports, but no information comes out.
Is there any way to find out the current user and print their user name on the report?
Users have 2 id's. Where can I find this info and add it to the report.
A) the windows user id if possible
B) the SAP user id

Do I need to add new users under sun-web for declarative security to work?

Do I need to add a <principal-name> element under sun-web.xml whenever a new user registers on my website? I am planning to use declarative security for my website, so I went ahead and created a custom realm that uses JDBC to get users information from MySQL. To do a simple test I added a new user under a new group that does not have a mapping under sun-web.xml. However, web.xml has the needed security-constraint and security-role elements that define the role and the protected resources. The problem is that when I deploy the application under SJSAS PE9 I get the following warning: "No Principals mapped to Role [jdev]". Does that mean I have to add each and every use to sun-web.xml for the declarative security to work?

Good question. I am having the same problem with my LDAP realm. Funny thing is that the exact same approach worked fine and dandy with Sun AS 8. Sounds to me like something broke under AS 9 ...

Help. Can't add guest user in my X60 XP system

It seems like I have tried everything to add a new user when I click "change the way users log on or off" in my User Accounts feature in Control Panel (Windows XP). First, the error message requested that I uninstall "Client Services for Netware" which I did successfully. Upon retrying, the error message became:
"A recently installed program has disabled the Welcome screen and Fast User Switching. To restore these features, you must uninstall the program. The following file name might help you identify the program that made the change: vrlogon.dll".
I then found the fix at the Lenovo site (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-58845), but I followed this and it only addresses the fix for the T42, T42p, Z60m, Z60t devices, not my device which is the X60. I then decided to download the update for the Thinkvantage Fingerprint Software (V 5.6), but that still didn't change anything--the Lenovo fix instructions just didn't seem to go with my Thingvantage version/options. Finally, I disabled the Fingerprint Access all together and defaulted to the password only option...still nothing. Very frustrating. Can anyone help?

Hooker I am having the exact same issue with my T61p with XP Professional. There are a lot of referenceds to this vrlogon.dll, but nobody seems to have fixed the problem... or at least if they have they have never posted the solution. There is a website that claims to have a tool that fixes it, but it doesn't work... at least for me.
I think it happened right after I installed either an update I got from Lenovo via System Update 3, when I installed .NET 2.0 SP1, or there was a Bluetooth Vulnerabity Security Update that Windows told me I should get (KB951376) right after I installed .NET 2.0 SP1.
If I could find out what program uses it, I would remove that program... if nobody from Lenovo comes up with a solution I am looking for a program the traces .DLL files to figure out what uses vrlogon.dll so I can figure out what to uninstall.

Please try table VBFA with fields VBELV = <sales order> and VBTYP_N = 'J' (Shipping/Delivery).
and also try this also
if you know delivery number for order ,then you could use FM VTTP_READ
if you need delivery number from sales order then use VBAP-VGBEL
pass delivery number to FM or pass the value to VTTP Table

No, it is not possible. Only way to change is to disconnect service completely. and reconnect again. you may experience downtime. but at least you will be able to change VZ username. or create a sub-account from your primary account.

I have to do a screen enhancement for transaction C223.
Below is the requirement:
need to add 2 new columns to the existing table control of C223 transaction.
there is no customer exits, screen exit or user exit present for this transaction C223, i have found one enhancement spot for this transaction.
i dont have any idea how to do this in standard transaction C223, the table control in C223 saves the data to MKAL table and the table control uses the structure MKAL_EXPAND in the screen program.
i have created an append structure for the 2 fields to the standard table MKAL.
Can anyone please suggest me how this can be done in standard screen C223, will the enhancement spot can be used to do this....

the BADI definition present here is a SAP internal so we cant implement the BADI , but we can created a enhancement spot implementation for this. as per my understanding on this the enhancement spot is only for making the table control fields display / change . i dont think this can be used to add two new coloumns to C223 table control.
I am not sure thats why seeking your help/valuable sugestion on this.
Please provide your sugestion on this , so that i can come to conclusion on this issue.

How can I retrive current user information in Content Server's presetation template?

We need to determine current user is the item's created user or not, so we want to know how to do this?
we can use <pcs:if expr="'Luke' == createdBy">....,but the 'Luke' is static string,

I don't know that this is possible in a direct fashion. (and, btw - thank you for asking this question. I realized we'll eventually need exactly the same thing so looking at this helps me as well :).
I'm quoting dev support from another posting on making community comparisons dynamic:
"This won't work because the pcs: tags are evaluated on the Content Server during the publish operation, resulting in a static HTML file that still contains the raw pt: tags. This same HTML file will be displayed in all of your communities. The pt: tags are evaluated on the portal server right before it returns content to the user, this allows the single HTML file to show a different name in each community. "
So the gist of things is that content server acts dynamic to you and I through the editing UI, but is really publishing static content. The values at run-time are not directly available to the PCS operators because...well...the PCS stuff is already done. It produced the static HTML showing up in the portlet.
There appear to be two immediate options:
Use the transformer tags to publish the user's name at run-time. Have the PCS and Transformer tags write their values into javascript strings and then compare this client-side. My response: "meh" Not for the purist, but I'm so far down the non-purist path at this point it just doesn't matter any more to me. Simple and to the point, but has known risks. Probably the easiest way to go.Publish your page as ASPX or JSP and then use the EDK server-side to manage the comparisons. Definitely more server-centric, but does require you do a quick bit of content server configuration. Just set the publishing target for the portlet to a directory on a web server and then set the publishing file extension to .ASPX or .JSP. I've done this with ASP and it works nicely. :)Not entirely the answer you or I were looking for, but I think it makes sense.
The PT transformer tags you'll want if you go with option (1) are:
Get the user's full name

Get a custom user setting "myUserSetting"

i am adding row programetically, my requirement need to add the row at after last row.
i tried different ways.

Can't add new users in Server Admin console in Server 10.1.4.

I've run into an issue with an older OS X Server 10.1.4 running on a G4 platform. It functions as a shared file repository and I need to add new users. However, it would appear that I've developed a problem.
When trying to add new users I get the following error:
An error occurred in the Users & Groups module in entry point "RACMMenuItemSelected".
A program error has occurred.
1004
Now, my best guess is it's a corruption somewhere. But, I don't want to go poking around the production server taking it down and up until I've got some idea where I'm going. Any suggestions on where my troubles might be? Or has anyone had this issue before, and how was it corrected? (Hopefully not by a full software reload.)
I'd like to replace/upgrade this server, but until there's money in the budget, that's just a dream, I need to try to figure out how to fix what's here.

No answer was found for this issue. I've finally removed the server from production and will likely reformat and reinstall for use in other production areas. Hopefully we'll be upgrading the OS at the same time.

How to add Product User Statuses?

I need to add new user status values in the Sales Status list for the Products object.
The standard only has 2 statuses : blocked with error, blocked with warning. (see field Status in the Sales data tab of the Commpr01 transaction in CRM gui)
I tried to play with the status management entry of the SPRO (CRM/master data/Products/Status management) : i created a status profile, assigned it to the Master data object. But, the values do not appear in the list.
Since, our CRM is connected to an ECC system, and the products are actually replicated from ECC, I also tried to change the values in ECC thanks to the menu Logistics general/Material master/settings for key fields/data relevant for S&D/Define sale statuses : i added a few statutes, then relicated the table TVMS to CRM. I can then see that the values have been replicated to the CRM table (CRMC_TVMS). But, i still cannot the values in the drop down list box of the sales status in the Product master.
Any idea anyon?

The status profile can only be viewed in new UI not in SAPGUI.
Please perform the following steps
1. Go to transaction BSP_WD_CMPWB
2. open the component PRDHS
3. Go to the view PRDHS/Header
4. In the configuration add the field 'Status Profile' to the view.
Now test the again.This should solve the issue.
Also ensure that the sap note : 1249450 is implemented in the system .
