Help - Restore Freeze

Just purchased a refurbished 80bg video Ipod. It was previously formatted in Macintosh. Trying to restore it to be used on a windows PC, it consistently freezes during the restore process. Have tried two different computers, changing the power management on the System Buses, reinstalling USB drivers, restoring from disk mode - NOTHING WORKS.
Any help is appreciated!

Ok - got it to work. Was able to restore with no problems at work. Both my home computers had issues doing this task. I can't explain why it worked here rather than at home. At home I have a laptop and desktop networked together over wireless. One thing I did not do at home was unplug my printer (USB), all other USBs were unplugged. Another thought is that because I rarely connect my Ipod to my work computer (has been at least a year and a few iTunes updates later) is possibly why it worked correctly??? I will be holding my breath when I get home and see if both home computers will actually function with the Ipod and attempt to download my music library.

If u haven't resolved this issue yet, I just did.
What I did:
1. Toggle the hold switch (turn it on and off)
2. Reset to 'Disk Mode'
by pressing the 'Play' and center buttons
simultaneously
(it may take a couple of trials to get it right)
3. Update iPod with latest iTunes in Disk mode.
4. Incase the 'Can't find firmware' error msg is displayed,
follow the instructions in the link given below:

I am facing wifi and mobile 2G signal issue after upgrading to IOS 6 from IOS 5 in IPhone 3GS. The mobile carrier signal as well as WIFI suddenly drops zero and are then restored automatically. Sometimes i cannot conenct to WIFI even standing infront of WIFI router. Please help, restoring setting even didn't helped.

Update: my phone's connecting to the WiFi again. I don't know what did the trick. I did nothing since reinstalling the software. It hadn't worked then, it is now. I tried connecting to my dad's phone's hotspot( he uses a Moto G), and it worked. I then tried connecting to the WiFi at a friend's house, and when I came back home, my phone was able to connect to my WiFi! Is it of any significance that my friend's router doesn't require a password? My issue has been resolved( for now; I hope I'm not counting my chickens before they've hatched). For anyone facing a similar issue, I suggest you try everything I did:
1. Turn your router off for a minimum of 30 seconds, turn it back on and try connecting.
2. Click on the WiFi network you are connected to, scroll to the bottom, tap "Renew Lease".
3. Do a soft and hard reset.
4. Reset network settings.
5. Back your data up, erase all content from settings menu, restore from backup.
6. Reinstall your software( put it in recovery mode).
I am not sure which of the above worked for me. Make sure you try everything. If none of the above works, take it to a genius bar or an authorised service provider. Good luck! :)

Help restore 30684 messages in Apple Mail inbox

I had opened another thread where in I had e-mail accounts two using IMAP and one using exchange 2010. For some strange reason around 12/21/11 all of my inboxes disappeared without a trace. That day mail was being sluggish activiity monitor was busy but I did not realiize realize what it was doing until too late. None of my messages showed up in the trash or deleted messages folder, they all just went straight into a black hole. With the two IMAP mailboxes I was able to do a time machine restore of a backup done on 12/20. These mailboxes only contained a few thousand so it was relatively quick an hour or so each. After the restore I moved the messages from the local recovered folder to the inbox all is happy. When I tried doing the exchange inbox with 30684 it would hang on the restore. I would select the inbox then launch time machine. I would go to the date 12/20/11, the inbox would start a count of the inbox contents ultimately ending up with 30684 messages. I would then do a cmd-a and it would select all 30684 messages and in about 2+ hours the daisy wheel is done selecting and a message would pop up on the lower pane and say something like "click on the restore button to recover 30684 messages." I would then click on the restore button and leave it. I've left it as long as a week and it was just stuck there and I had to force quit mail. I tried that process again and would leave it over night the next morning it would still be stuck at that last screen when I clicked recover but the time machine disk has stopped popping the popcorn. It would be totally stock and only thing I could do was force quit mail. Clicking on cancel or anything else would not respond.
Please help restore 30684 messages tell me about a finding a work around. I can browse backups so there has to be a way to get them back...

Plug it to your computer using iPod USB Cable (any cable should work excluding iPhone 5 and Shuffle cables)...... when you see your iPod in iTunes go to that iPod and click restore...... the whole process should take (depending on what you have on your iPod and its is up to date) it should take no longer than 30 minutes...... then it will ask if you want to set up as new iPod or restore from back-up (itunes back up), since you said:
so its like new
click set as new iPod and follow through what they said.

Thanks for that. I did as suggested but when I tried again, it still did not work. Another com.apple.Grab.plist appeared in the Library.

Okay, I think that rather than play twenty questions, it would be easiest if you could post a screenshot. Press command+shift+ 3 to take a shot of the whole desktop, or command+shift+4 and then drag over the part of it you want. The screenshot will appear on your desktop, but you can't email a screenshot to the forum. You will need to come to the webpage for this discussion:

Help - restore from time machine freeze

I set up a clean install of Mountain Lion, which seemed to go fine... then restarted the PowerBook and settled back to let Time Machine restore my apps and documents.
It took about six hours... but then, when the process had wound almost all the way down, the countdown clock got stuck at "17 minutes"... and it's been there for the last three hours.
I'm afraid something has gone wrong, but what can I do? I could force restart the Mac, but then what? Wipe the disk and start all over? Or will Migration Assistant be smart enough to know what I missed?

This happened to me a while ago and when I restarted it finished the migration and all worked out OK.

Help: iTunes freezes when I try to change the music folder location

I want to change my iTunes music folder location but every time I click on the change button (Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Change) iTunes freezes. All of my music is in an external drive and I recently reinstalled windows, so I had to back up the old iTunes folder and replace the default one (after the reinstallation) with it, but now I can't set the new location of the drive because of this problem.
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated

Okay. Finally called Apple, and they said that this is something to do with the latest iTunes - 10.6 - and the only way to solve it is to restore my iPod, and then arrange it so I manually manage my music, etc. Which I learned how to do here: http://en.kioskea.net/faq/3740-how-to-manually-manage-music-and-videos-in-itunes It worked. Woo-hoo!
