Hi Dvarzoni. There is no need to apologise for bad English.
It is my first language and mine is awful and as for the Americans
on this list.......well!
OK. now that I had offended nearly everyone let me
try and answer your problem. You seem to be wanting to access the
RH Help. Can you check that the "Use Offline Help" option available
from the Tools | Options menu item is ticked. This may be your
problem. Do come back if it isn't and we'll try again.

  • Robo Help Server 8 Publishing files to wrong location

    Hi
I have recently installed a trail verstion of Robo Help 8 server.  All appears to be ok with the install I can access the website and log into the admin portal etc...  The only diffrence from the default install is that I have configured tomcat to use port 80 rather than 8080.
However I am having a problem whenever i try to publish a help file from Robo Help 8, I input all of the details of the server <Server IP>/robohelp/server
put in the default admin username and password and select the general area to publish the help file to.  All of the files appear to publish ok from Robo Help 8 and no errors are receved.
When I log onto the admin portal of the website the there is nothing displayed in the projects window.  I have check the local disk of there server were robo help is installed and i think the problem may be that the server is putting the files in the wrong location.
I can see that a folder has been created in the following location
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp Server 8\robo\server\general\projects\TestProject
with the following folders within it
    resource
    webhelp_skin_files
    whdata
    whxdata
However none of these folders contain any data.
All of the files apper to be uploading to C:\ not the above directory wich is what i would expect.
If a copy the files that have been uploaded to C:\ to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp Server 8\robo\server\general\projects\TestProject and restart the tomcat service the project then shows in the project window.  However when i click view project all i get is a blank screen.  I have searched the forum but cannot find anyone having a similar issue.
Any help would be gratley appriciated.
Below is the config of the Server
Windows 2003 Server IIS not installed
    Java 6.21
    Tomcat 6.0.29

    aha!
If the firewall is on, turn it off.

  • One of the folders of Robo Help Project Manager is listed twice in Windows Explorer.

    Hello Everybody,
One of the folders of Robo Help Project Manager is listed twice in Windows Explorer. One has all the subfolders and topics of it and the other has all the subfolders but not the topics. How did I get into this kind of situation? Why do I have two folders? Can somebody please answer on this?
Since my RH project is attached to Visual Source Safe (VSS), the same structure is mirroring in VSS.

    Hi there
After reviewing the image I see that what you might think are two of the same folder are two different folders similar in name.
One is named Advanced_Functionality. The other is named Advanced_Funtionality (note the missing C).
I'm assuming this is the folder you are referring to?

  • Robo 5 generated Help File (CHM) is not displaying the target Help page

    Hi,
I am using Robo 5. AFter generating the CHM file and linked to the target application, the CHM file is not displaying content for a specific page.
The concerned topic, for which the CHM is not displaying content, is included in TOC also.
When the target topic in the TOC is clicked, the CHM file is displaying the following message: Navigation to the webpage was canceled.
Can anybody tell me why it is happening like that?

Does it display OK if you open the help independently of the application?
If it does, then the problem has to be in the call.

  • Opening Robo Help and saved image is gone

When I insert and image into Robo Help and save and close the program, when I got back in the image is missing, but a large square is in its place.  All the text is moved below the image, it seems to still be referencing it but I can't see it.  When I originally insert it, it is in the correct place and sized correctly without me doing any adjustments to it.  Then when I re-open robo help it is gone, any suggestions?

  • Robo Help hangs when I open word

    Hi,
I am not able to open one particular document(word) in Robo
help. The rest of the documents opens and am able to work with it.
But as soon as i open this document, robo help hangs. Am not sure
why this is happening.... It is critical document. I have to update
and publish on the web. I find this strange. Infact i tried running
this from a different drive but no luck. Please provide me solution
    for this.
    Robo help version X5
    Word: MS word 97
    OS : XP
    Regards

    Hi Peter,
Sorry for the late reply. Was on a long festival holiday and
    now back to work.
I have rebooted my system many number of times but it is not
working. I tried opening the same document from backup copy as
well. It doesn't open up. It hangs. I created a new project and
tried to import this document. Iam unable to import the document as
well. I get the same error message which i had posted earlier ("
RoboHelp Explorer can't complete this action because RoboHelp is
working or has a dialog box open. Please switch to Robohelp, close
any open dialogs and try again.").
Strange thing is if i open this document without RoboExplorer
open it opens in a word document and i can edit and save it. But if
i open it from the explorer it hangs and and get this error
message:( . So this shows that it is not a problem with word. Don't
    you think so?
I think the back up copy also has a problem. Before taking
the back up, I had installed Robohelp 7 in my system, it was not
working as word version was too old (word97) hence reverted back to
X5. Yes after reinstalling X5, i took a backup and i had not worked
    on this document.
When i tried opening this document couple of days before it
started troubling me. Only this document is behaving strange rest
of the documents opens and i can edit and save them.
Do you think uninstalling Robohelp7 and reinstalling X5 could
be the problem? If this is the problem all the documents should
hang isn't it? Since the back up is also not working, am planning
to uninstall and reinstall X5. Do you think this is a good idea? Or
    is there any other resort?
PS: Robohelp was installed and uninstalled by our System
    Admin.
I tried following the steps given by another senior member
    (Captiv8r) but no go :(.....

  • Issues with Robo Help adding extra code

I am currently using RoboHelp 10 version 10.0.1.292
I am trying to write the code and then input into Robo help for future editing. I am new to HTML and RoboHelp as well.
The issue is when I add the code like so below it comes out with an added  <p>&#160;</p> in robohelp code and causes the Iframe to not work for one of the drop down menus. Is it possible to disable this feature adding this in or a way to get the Iframe to still work? In screen shot is what the problem is the info highlighted after the Account portion.

RoboHelp is not an HTML editor in the same way as say Dreamweaver. The editor can add processing instructions that tell Rh how to create the output files but those PIs do not get into the help. HTML editors in the general sense have the same code in the source and the output.
That is one reason the editor is different. It also assumes that the majority of users will not have the same HTML skills as someone using say Dreamweaver and it is designed to make some corrections automatically. Sometimes though the result of that is Rh makes changes you don't want.
I'm wondering why you are coding in a text editor though when Rh is designed to write the code for you.

  • Error 1606, when attempting to install Robo Help

I'm posting on behalf of our client here.
Client have been trying to install Robo Help 8 on a number of workstations, none of these attempts were successful, they were installing over a network at first, then they tried installing from DVD media directly on each machine. This error message appears at all times "Error 1606. Could not access network location Documents/Adobe/Adobe RoboHelp 8."
I've searched on Adobe forums for a possible solution, none were about RoboHelp, however the error 1606 do appear in other circumstances but no solution were given on the forums - to my knowledge.
I've attached a screenshot of the error that may shed further light on the issue.

    Hi there
    Two things.
If you post in the future, please avoid using the Attach function. Instead, insert the images directly in the post using the camera icon. This is mentioned in the Before you post link.
Because the error message seems to be referencing a network location, I'm wondering if perhaps your company uses the Roving Desktops featue of Windows. With this feature you are able to log into any workstation on the network and your customized desktop follows you around because it is actually stored on the network and not the local PC.
If this is the case, I'm wondering if you might talk your IT folks into temporarily configuring the login for local desktop. Then try the install again. After installing try switching back to Roving Desktop.
    Hopefully something here helps... Rick

  • Robo HTML Help Author Message

    Hello,
I'm new to this forum, and I hope someone can assist me with
this issue. I've only been using RoboHelp (HTML) for about 4
    months.
I deleted a custom window (for the navigation pane in the
HTML viewer) in a project I updated because after I compiled the
project the tri-pane navigation pane didn't appear correctly
(didn't have the Contents, Search, and Index tabs.) It only allowed
a user to type in a keyword for the topics to display. So, after
quite a bit of troubleshooting, I deleted the custom window and
just used the default window. I recompiled the project, and the
navigation pane appeared with all of the three correct tabs.
However, evertime I select a topic under the Contents tab, this
    HTML Help Author Message appears:
"The window name "AutoSPRINK VR 6" passed to HH_GET_WIN_TYPE
    has not been specified."
"AutoSPRINK VR 6" was the custom window I deleted, but I
didn't think that would make a difference. It does go to the topic,
but only after I click OK twice on the message dialog box. This
occurs each time I select a different topic. This doesn't happen
when I select a reference link.
How can I get rid of this message dialog? It's annoying for a
user to have that message pop up everytime they select a topic.
    Felnic

    Hi Felnic,
This was a bug a long time ago and I haven't heard about it
in newer versions but apparently it is still there. From your TOC
right click on a topic, open Properties, and Open the Advanced
page. From there, select a window. When you deleted your window
definition, RoboHelp didn't clean it up in the TOC. The same thing
happens if you change the window name. As far as I know, you have
    to manually change each topic.
By the way, what version of RobpHelp are you using?

  • Robo Help 9 Web Help Publish Problem

I am trialling V9 of RoboHelp and when I am publishing to Web Help all I get is the skin with no data. I am publishing to my file system. Can anyone help? Thanks

    Hi,
Are you using Chrome? Chrome doesn't support locally installed webhelp because of a security restriction. There is a workaround. See snippet 130 on http://www.grainge.org/pages/snippets/snippets.htm.

  • Need help specifying PDF folder location in Javascript

We currently have a bit of Javascript that opens a PDF file when the user clicks the Open PDF button. The script is:
    //External link button function                     border=0></a> <script
    var ButtonID="PDF1";
    var View="User Guides\\WiMAX User Guide.pdf";
    document.writeln('<OBJECT CLASSID="clsid:ADB880A6-D8FF-11CF-9377-00AA003B7A11" ID="'+ButtonID+'" TYPE="application/x-oleobject">')
       document.writeln('<PARAM NAME="Command" VALUE="Shortcut">')
       document.writeln('<PARAM NAME="Font" VALUE="MS Sans Serif,10,0,,">')
       document.writeln('<PARAM NAME="Item1" VALUE=",'+GetCurrDir()+View+'">')
    document.writeln('</OBJECT>')
The User Guides folder is within the Help folder where the CHM file is saved (so I have Help (where CHM files are stored)\User Guides (where PDFs are stored).
One of the PDFs is now installed outside the Help folder in a folder that is at the same level as the Help folder. I can't seem to get my updated link to work. Is there a limitation on that requires that the PDF be within the same folder or beneath the folder where the CHM is saved? Is there a way to get this to work?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
See http://www.cybertext.com.au/tips_HTML_chm_external.htm, it was written for AuthorIt but it should work for Robo as well. I seems you just need to get the path right, but you may have to amend your script (specifically the function GetCurrDir() ).

  • Issues in CS Help Output in RoboHelp 7

    Hi
I am using RoboHelp 7 for developing FlashHelp, which is working perfectly fine. However, the CS Help is not working fine and I have tried Google and a few other forums but it didn't help. The issues are:
One, I see the CS Help only in FireFox, but not in IE8 or IE6. Please suggest how I can see that.
Two, the default pop-up window is seen in bottom-right corner. I used all possible options in Edit Window properties in Robo (such as WithNavPane) but for all values, the CS popup is always displayed in same size and at same location (bottom-right corner). Though I can drag it, I want to specify the default size and position.
Three is for FlashHelp, how can I remove the browser toolbar, menubar and such options from the FlashHelp? I could not find it in RoboHelp project manager or project set-up.
    Thank you for your time.
    Regards
    Niti

You can leave it connected. Just because you 'can' doesn't mean you have to.
In fact, you can leave it connected for as long as you want... This is how I charge my Nano.
If you leave it connected, and you want to force a synch form the computer, just select the ipod on the left hand side.. right click, and choose synch.
    I hope this helps
