Help, Safari not displaying images properly

I think I have narrowed the issue down to the display:inline-block that i have going on, but i thought this was supported in safari 4. Can anyone tell me why this sites images are not showing up properly?
fotographitti.com/blog
It shows up perfectly in firefox and in ie8. I haven't tested in others as i am currently lacking resources, but from what I am seeing, the images show up really tiny in safari most of the time. Sometimes it will render them properly, sometimes it will only render 1 or 2 of them properly. Very weird. Chrome has the same issue, but is a little better about it.

Thank you for your reply. This is a site that I am designing, I know not much to look at, lol. The images are just there to test (and are not mine). I need to make sure that the site shows up properly or at least close enough on most browsers. It's weird that sometimes, it will show up properly and if I hit refresh it will get thrown out of whack, or if it's all screwed up and I refresh it will look ok again. I don't understand, why the images are showing up very tiny. I mean, I look at the page source and the code looks good, so why is this not showing up properly... ARRRRRGGGGHH!!!!

  • Safari not displaying Facebook properly

Since yesterday, Safari stopped displaying Facebook properly. I get a white page with no formatting, just a column of links. That is the only site I have problems with. All others seem to work fine and Facebook displays properly if I'm using Firefox. ???

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up a guest account” (without the quotes) in the search box.
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem(s)?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in Mac OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Note: If FileVault is enabled under Mac OS X 10.7 or later, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

  • HT1553 I restored my hard drive from time machine. Why is iPhoto not displaying images properly?

I restored my hard drive from time machine after power blinks corrupted the file system so badly that disk utility could not repair it. Since then, iPhoto has not displayed images correctly. Events are there, and blank squares are shown, but that's all. I rebuilt small and all thumbnails and permissions -- I think the top three or four options in the iPhoto rebuild utility, which took five hours to do but which seems not to have changed anything. The iPhoto library is still more than 100GB, so the photos are there. I didn't choose rebuild from backed up --- whatever the final option on the rebuild menu offers -- because that seems to be appropriate only when a backup is interrupted. Could certainly do it, though. How do I get iphoto behaving again? I have full time machine backups saved automatically and another fairly recent copy on a separate hard drive stored remotely. Thanks for whatever help anyone can provide. I've looked at existing questions and solutions without success so far.

What version of iPhoto and system are your running?  Since you've tried rebuilding with iPhoto give this a try:
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
If you have an external HD you might want to have the rebuilt copy created on it unless you have well more than 100 GB available on your boot drive.

  • Safari not displaying images on web pages

My Safari was working fine and then all of a sudden the images stopped displaying in the web pages. I thought maybe it was because my browser needed an update. I installed Safari 5 but i'm still having the same problem. I read in another forum that one should clear the cashe and trash the Safari preference file (com.apple.safari.plist)). i cleared the cashe but i'm not sure where to find the safari preference file. can someone please help??

On Vista, the plist file is in a hidden folder, but I don't immediately associate that particular plist with trouble displaying images on Windows systems. (Especially not on Safari 4.0.x installations, when the issue started for you.)
Can you check something for me? (This isn't going to be a cure in itself, but it will point us towards the most profitable lines of further troubleshooting.)
Create a new Windows User account with full administrative rights. Log out of your usual account and log into the new account. (Don't use fast user switching to move between accounts.)
Launch Safari in the new account. Do images display in web pages in the new account?
(If they do display, we'll focus on preferences and settings files in the usual user account. If they don't display, we'll check on damaged Apple Application Support and Safari program files.)

  • SSRS Report Viewer control not displaying images properly

    Hi All,
when i execute the report in Report Manager i am able to see the report with out any issue, but when i am running the report using report viewer control images getting chopped or Croped like below screen
    shot.
i am using VS.net 2012 and Sql server 2012 and calling server reports in the asp.net application using Report Viewer control version 11.0
One interesting thing is some times i am able to see the images some times not (like below screen).
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Using Report View Control

    Hi siva9000,
As per my understanding, there is a report with image. When you run the report in report manager, it works fine. When you run the report using report viewer control, the image could not be displayed properly.
I tried to reproduce this issue on my local machine. However, the report works fine for me when configure a ReportViewer control for remote or local processing. According to your description, the report itself has no problem. The issue may be caused by browser
or third-party plug-in. To troubleshooting the problem, please refer to the following steps:
Please run the report using IE, since other browsers may have compatibility problems.
Open the Internet options of the IE and add the web site into trusted site in the Security tab.
Please check if you installed third-party plug-in to the browser.
For more information about Configuring ReportViewer for Remote Processing, please refer to the following document:

If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

  • Image Field Not Displaying Images Properly

I am using LiveCycle Designer 7.0 for the sole purpose of having the ability to insert an image field on my documents. I have set up the image field so that an inserted image is scaled-to-fit and right-aligned. When I insert an image, it does insert scaled-to-fit; however, it is always centered. When my coworker inserts an image it is stretched-to-fit and centered. I have double- and triple-checked that I have formatted the image field correctly. It isn't working as programmed. Is this a bug with LiveCycle Designer or is there a way to fix the problem?

    Hi guys,
I'm also having this issue with Image Fields in Reader 8 - they skew no matter what setting you choose to display them as.
Anyone know of a workaround (maybe a javascript to force image proportionality?)?  Image Fields are not very helpful if you require all of your users to download Reader 9...
Also, I'm aware that Image Fields work properly as long as you do NOT import a pdf as background artwork.  So it could potentially work if you save your background pdf as an image and add it into a new Designer file as an image.  But this causes loss of picture resolution...
    Appreciate any help!

  • Safari not displaying lists properly as defined in CSS

I have been successfully using my .css file for a while on my website for work. Now I need to default to the 2nd level of ordered list as my first, but just for this page. However, Safari is showing it as 1st level ordered list even with override. Opera, Netscape, Explorer, and Firefox all display the page correctly, but Safari does not.
I've got Safari 2.0.3 on Mac OS X 10.4.4. The page is ocean.tamu.edu/GCOOS/RA/memorandum.htm
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Try checking that it is VALID CSS with W3C's CSS Validation Service.

  • Safari not displaying images on ipad with retina display

I can see the images on my iphone 4s but the same page does not show the images on my ipad4. This is one of the urls-http://www.montereyboats.com/boats/cruisers-and-sport-yachts/260scr/#overview. There is 8 images on the top of the page that do not load. They do auto play, you can see the boxes switching in order but the pictures do not show up.

You're welcome. I tried private mode i Safari and it was still OK. On the settings> Safari page start at the top change search engine, go to the website anew and see if it makes a difference. If no difference change search engine back. Still on the same page scroll down to privacy and location. One by one change each setting, if no success change it back to the way you had it then try the next setting. Just to make sure we're viewing the same page, first you see the logo and boat and option for country. The next page has the eight pictures, right ?

  • Mac Safari not displaying Twitter properly?

The login page looks normal but when I log in this happens every time. Other websites are fine. Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

I was suffering the same yesterday & this morning. Tried resetiing Safari preferences, clearing caches etc & running anti-virus scan .... all to no avail.
Just read adnan's post of 8/26/2012 5:34 I tried again and my twitter pages are also back to normal.
Fingers crossed it stays that way - guess the glitch was with Twitter, not my Mac.
    Additional comment:
Not quite back to normal; avi's are not being displayed, & pictures previously uploaded "can't be found".
Still think this is a problem at Twitter, not with me.

I have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 installed. Safari on my account does not display images most of the time when you open a picture like (www.example.com/example/example.jpg or any other format). If the image does not display, I can drag from the corner, it displays the image. However, pdf does not work at all. I have to choose open in Preview to view the pdf file. I can even show the example:

Hi all the real problem was this...
The issue was that the wee rubber eye piece around the viewfinder had slipped out of its seat slightly and was covering the sensor for the LCD. I Just checked the rubber eye piece bit  pushed right down till it clipped into place and now not obstructing the LCD sensor as the picture displays both with the LCD auto off enabled or disabled !! simple thing but a massive trap !
