Quit and relaunch Safari. If there's no change, please see below.

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models.  The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

Does anyone know what I should do to get my address bar to come back? I have been using my mac mini for a few weeks, including Safari and one day last week when I turned on the PC and Safari my address bar was gone. I have gone into the view tab several times and tried to get the address bar to return but it is missing. I have rebooted and I have reset Safari and still no address bar. What can I do? Thanks

    Hi
Go to the View Menu>Customize Address Bar. This will open the Icon panel. You'll see an "Address and Search" bar. Click/Drag it to the Address Bar area of the browser window. Select "done".

Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.

  • Safari tabs as icons

Is there any way to see all the different tabs in one Safari window at once as icons so I can choose the one I want. Let's say I have a window with 10 tabs. I would like to see all of them side by side (same as u can see different Safari Windows side by side by swiping 4 fingers down gesture)? I know the two fingers pinch in but that will enable you to swipe between them and not to see them all at once.

No, Safari on iOS 5 on the iPad uses tabbed browsing, the thumbnail/page browsing was on iOS 4. You can try leaving feedback for Apple and maybe in a future update we'll have a choice : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

  • New Email counter missing in Safari tab?

    Hi folks.
My ATT Yahoo mail page used to indicate on my Safari tab if new unread mail had appeared.  Since going to ML and Safari 6, that has stopped and I dont know how to restore it.  I found that there are widgets for gmail to do that, but I cant find one for ATT/Yahoo.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Uhh, okay, for some reason it suddenly started working just minutes after my posting.  Didnt work for weeks, and now was apparently humbled by my complaint and its fine.  So, never mind, I guess.

  • Close tab icon missing

Each Tab normally has a "x" to close each Tab - this is missing and I have to left click and close tab - any suggestions appreciated.
    Thanks

How many tabs do you have open?<br />
If there are a lot of tabs open then only the active tab has a close button.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • Book tab/panel/icon location irritation

Is there any way I can get the Book tab/panel/icon (whatever it's called) to stay in my panels toolbar, which I have docked on the right side of my screen? Every time I start FM9 the book panel opens on the left side of the GUI and I have to minimize it and manually drag it over to the right side of the screen and dock it with the other icons. Am I missing something obvious?
    Any suggestions appreciated.

    Ron,
I do not know exactly how FrameMaker's workspace management works, and I do not move the book panel around, but this may help.
FrameMaker has the ability to save your workspacet, but it appears NOT to work when just the book file is open. When a document within the book is open, you can rearrange the workspace and save it (giving it a name) using the workspace drop-down in the upper right corner of the application window. It should remember this workspace the next time you open FrameMaker; however, it does not open the panels, etc, until you open a document; opening the book file is not sufficient.
I have noticed that when I close all the document files and have just the book file open, all the panels, except the book panel, disappear. If I open a panel, it appears at the default place that Frame wants to put it, not where I had put it in the workspace. If I were to open a document file, then Frame moves that panel to the place at which I saved it in my saved desktop. I think this is because Frame allows NO custom workspace with just a book file open. This seems a real deficiency to me.
So, my suggestion is to open a book and one of its document files. Set up your workspace as you want, and save it. When you open just the book file, Frame will likely put it on the left side as its default. Without moving the book file, open one of its documents, and my guess is that Frame will move the book file panel to where you want it, where you had it stored in your custom workspace. I have not tried this, because I leave the book panel on the left, but the other panels behave this way.
Hope this helps, but it may not,
    Van
